Opened in 2015, the Siesta Sun Deck is a restaurant and observation deck overlooking the Siesta Key Public Beach, winner of the title of the number one beach in the country in 2011 and best beach in the U.S. by Trip Advisor in 2020. The casual, counter service restaurant serves burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, snacks, beer, wine, and frozen drinks. It was closed when I visited but you could still use the tables if you brought your own food. There are also restrooms at the top that were clean. You can reach the top of the deck either by stairs or a wheelchair accessible ramp. Once you make the climb you are rewarded with a beautiful view of the beach on one side and an overlook of the playground on the parking lot side. On my way down I spotted a pair of really cool poured cement lounge chairs at the base of the deck, a cute place to take a rest. It's worth the climb to the top of the deck to get the best view of the best beach. read more

Cute little beach concession stand with really good food on Siesta Beach. We ordered a Fire Cracker Shrimp Wrap and a Blackened Chicken Sandwich. Both were delicious and hit the spot. The fries were extra good. read more

The old white man with grey hair that works the "cash register" --which is really an iPad-- is stealing people's money! After you make your order he flips the iPad around for you to complete your order and puts his hand over the tip information, blocking the customers view. It is defaulted to tip. After ordering two soft drinks I didn't feel inclined to add a tip. He tried to block me from navigating the tip options but I clicked "no tip." When he flipped the iPad around I saw him clicking again and I watched my credit card charge vigilantly and wrote down what my bill was. Of course, he added an unauthorized tip back and I just disputed this with my credit card company. I am also filing a police report and notifying corporate headquarters. He was doing this with everyone in line. Hundreds of people all day long. This is theft and completely unacceptable. Make sure you get a receipt to confirm he is not adding an extra tip that you did not authorize. I would not support this establishment again. Buyer beware! read more

The boss had chicken fingers with fries and I had the cheeseburger with fries. The fries were really darn good - crispy and yummy. My wife loved here chicken tenders. For me it had quite a bit of batter, but it was really crispy and seasoned well. The cheeseburger was the regular fare - tomato, onion, lettuce. Overall, if you're looking for something simple, convenient and with a good view going to or from Siesta Beach, it's definitely worth the visit. read more

Living local we don't expect much from food located in tourist spots. This place was ridiculous on an entirely different level. The food was decent with the price you'd expect for a spot on the beach. However, it's clear these owners are cheapskates and willing to rip people off beginning with the 10% service charge included in the bill. This charge is for YOU to carry your food to a picnic table 5 ft away. If you want to appreciate your employees pay them better yourself as an owner instead of charging customers to pay for their counter service. The scrooge tendencies carry on by not offering lids or straws supposedly because it's a "turtle friendly beach" Okay, I can get behind that but you offer plastic cutlery and plastic condiment containers with plastic lids. The hypocrisy is clear you're just cutting corners and being cheap so you don't have to buy lids and straws. To add the icing to the cake a $4.00 fountain drink that cost maybe $.15-$.25 isn't allowed free refills because they "can't touch your cup" They also won't offer another paper cup. It's another $4.00 for a refill. There's a difference between cost efficiency / containment and being a bad business. Do better is all I can say. read more

Everything was fresh down to the cole slaw. I was really happy to find a place that actually made all their food fresh at the restaurant. Not only was the food delicious, but my waiter was attentive and kind! Which is a big plus in my book! read more

Beautiful location, but nasty service. The man who was taking orders ignored me, and when I called his attention, instead of apologizing, he became irate. That's a great way to spoil my morning. We stayed across the street for a week and came to this location a few times. Mainly for breakfast, once for lunch. Breakfast prices are great considering the location, good portions and tasty. Lunch is a littler pricer but also good. Above average for a "stand" for sure. The staff were fantastic and always very friendly. They often passed out free samples as well. read more

Thought the food would be better I know it's a concession style but I went to the one on Lido Beach, which serves lobster rolls. However, if you are on the beach its a good pick me up food along with adult beverages. read more

Convenient little spot for food on the beach. We forgot sunscreen and they also have a small shop that sells for $15, pricy but that's what happens when you forget. They sell water, soda, solid selection of beer and a variety of food. A little over priced but again it's the convenience that your being charged for. read more

I didn't have wallet with me at the beach and wanted to buy a beer.... I stood there for a moment while middle age lady who worked at counter had a personal conversation with a passer-by. Finally she asked if she could help me. I asked "do you take Apple Pay?" She replied "No we don't, you interrupted my conversation for that?!" Beautiful location but looks a bit unorganized. I was at this beach 2 years ago and the vendor situation was much better. Finding a frozen piña colada was a wild goose chase today being sent from one concession stand to the other only to find out they were out of the two flavors they supposedly had. Last time I was here there was a cute little frozen drink cart that had easily 6+ different flavors now I can't even find one.
