I finally made it here! Good experience and great food. I highly recommend this restaurant. I ordered the Turkey Croissant with Streak Fries. The sandwich was excellent as were most of the fries. The croissant was fresh and had just the right softness to it. Wasn't too chewy or hard. A few of the fries were under cooked though. My server offered to get me another order, but I declined. She was busy busy busy and had she checked on me earlier I sure would have. But that's fine. The young girls (hostesses?) were pretty unfriendly. I don't think any of them even said boo to me. (Even as I was paying my bill.) But my server made up for it. Thanks. Other than that, no problems really. This was my first visit but won't be my last. I want to try their breakfast next! read more

I've always heard good things about Eggs "n" Things but never had checked them out until recently. Another cozy atmosphere, very simple, not a whole lot of flare, but very relaxing and home-like, and extremely clean! It looks small on the outside but is quite large once inside. The service was great, well wait, their hostess either lacks personality or is to busy with seating you to even make contact and acknowledge your a human. Needless to say we were seated quickly. So back to the great part of the service, coffee kept coming, my cup never ran dry, and hats off to their coffee, brewed just right. Ordered the Banana nut pancakes ($6.95) and my companion got the Shredded pork omelet ($8.95). I must say before I talk about our main breakfast entrees. The small crepe with jam "appetizer" is a neat concept, that I have to say is a first I have seen., and was yum!. Banana nut pancakes - Absolutely yum! The nuts woven into the 3 large pancakes were just the right amount topped with fresh bananas and melting butter (usually I hold the butter but I have to say it melted added flavor to the bananas that were being warmed by the pancakes.) This was a lot of food it alone filled me up, and I took some home, it was that good! Shredded pork omelet - I can talk about this one cause I got to try a bite YEAH, ha! This was amazing, almost made me a bit jealous, would have completely had I not fallen in love with my own meal. Great flavor, everything in the omelet meshed, cilantro, pork, tomatoes, cheese, avocado. It was all accompanied by a choice of things, my other half choose wheat toast (per my request, I wanted a piece of toast, he's so sweet) and hash browns, cooked perfectly no greasy slop, yay! Had a too-short, but very sweet visit with friends in Ventura this month. We got extra lucky because they took us to Eggs N Things for a Sunday breakfast. The place looked packed, so we got a pager and waited, expecting 15-20 minutes. Less than five minutes later we were escorted to a booth. Score! My stomach was on east coast time and starving, so when the surprise crepe with blackberry sauce showed up, I was an instant fan of this place! Wanting to try something local, I went with: "Chile Verde Huevos- Two Eggs 'n' Shredded Pork Smothered in Tomatillo Sauce, Refried Beans, Cheese, topped with Sour Cream, Choice of Corn or Flour Tortilla $9.25." I chose corn tortillas and hash browns with it. Add the really tasty California hot sauce to the equation and this was breakfast heaven! The omelette was great actually, but the potatoes they call cottage fries are NOT cottage fries. They are round french fries, that taste like limp cardboard. Frozen I suspect. I didn't try the hash browns but anything would be better than those round circles of yuck! I was seated and had trouble getting anyone to take my order. I finally flagged down the manager to asked a female server to please help me, like she was doing us both a favor. Really, the place had a huge staff. Who was assigned to my table, it didn't seem that anyone was. Once I finally ordered, I got some coffee and my order came. I would go again for the excellent omelette, with the eggs cooked properly. I discovered this place in Ojai years ago, but then realized we have a location in Ventura just about 9 years ago. The Ventura location has ample parking and for the hours that the restaurant is open, it's fairly safe. The restaurant stays busy, but regardless you are usually seated within a few moments of arriving. The staff are usually very friendly and do a great job attending to the needs of their tables. The restaurant is always clean! I enjoy a variety of the choices for meals. Their servings are large, so keep that in mind when ordering. The biscuits and gravy are delicious, the breakfast burrito is good and the banana nut pancakes are killer! I like that the eggs are cooked to orderr, which many places struggle with.. My friend and myself went for breakfast after hiking and she was greeted with a disapproving look form one of the hostesses. Once we were seated it took some time to get our coffee. We saw the table next to us, that was seated shortly after us, get their complimentary crepes which we had not yet received. We had to ask for our crepes and when the waitress, Alyssa, brought them over she almost threw the plates on the table and the same with a bowl of creamers we had asked for. She was not like this with all her tables, I saw her at another table chatting and being very polite. Once we were finished the busser came to pick up our plates and my friend said thank you and we got no response. We had asked for separate checks and when she brought them she rudely said I split the checks for you but they are exactly the same. I am not sure why we were treated so poorly but we did not appreciate it at all. We felt like an inconvenience and like we were not welcome. The food was delicious but the service we received will make me not return. I work in service and understand that it is stressful when you are busy but that doesn't make it okay to make someone feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. read more

They are great at eggs, bacon...not so much. Talk about over cooked... I love bacon and this is a first for me.. left 2 pieces! You could hear each of us crunching the bacon it was so crisp and stiff. . Almost dog treat bacon. Updated 11/29/15 (previously 4 stars): So I must say, I had higher hopes for this restaurant prior to my visit today. Here's the thing, if the true wait time for a table is going to be 30 minutes, please have the decency to tell me I will be waiting 30 minutes instead of saying the wait will only be 10 minutes as I watch the minutes from my watch continue to add up. Wait time for a table for 2 this morning was a total of 34 minutes. Note: if you have a party of 4 or more, you'll get seated faster because the tables are set up that way. I noticed right away, they underwent a restaurant renovation which included new hard wood floors and a new mural painting on the west wall of the VTA... So the old vintage flare of being at grandma's is no longer present. Our food was served within 10 minutes after we had ordered, which was nice. I had to remind our server for our complimentary Swedish pancake, so we got them when our orders came out. I was sooooo excited for my corn beef hash, with obrien potatoes and 2 over hard eggs. When it arrived my excitement turned into confusion. The illusion is that the corn beef comes out looking like a fried patty, but when you cut into it you come to find cat-food-canned-corn-beef, which included potatoes. It was absolutely disgusting. Thank god I ordered half a side of the cinnamon roll French toast because that was my savior. My husband's chicken enchilada omelet was on point, surprisingly very tasty. It had the stripped chicken with all the enchilada fixings: sour cream, avocado, pico salsa, enchilada sauce smothered over the omelet. So overall the customer service was fine, lets just say that they're so many other breakfast options in Ventura that I would recommend... Biscuits crumbled when you grabbed it so I didn't like it. Hash browns reminded me of Denny's so I disliked them but the o'brian potatoes were good. This is my first time at this location, I've had much better experiences in Camarillo and Simi Valley. The low rating is due to service, food is ok to good-not great. Read on for details. We arrived 45 minutes prior to closing on a Sunday. We were seated quickly. During our wait several staff, including two people who looked like managers, passed by and they asked one another if they would be helping our table. The place was not full or close to full but it took about 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Our server was in an incredibly sour mood. She brought out the wrong food and when she corrected it, the incorrect plate looked much more delicious and appetizing than what replaced it. We asked her to switch it and this really seemed to bother her although she did switch it out. We were rushed to finish while staff swept around our section. In a separate section people were allowed to finish eating without being rushed. I had to request the complimentary crepes (which are the reason my daughter asked for this place) and it took the unhappy server a while to bring them. Management didn't seem to be concerned with the confusion nor with clearing it up. Because of the consistency in service if I were to go back to EnT on our way out to LA I'll probably visit a location where I've had better experiences. read more

Just taking a drive in Oxnard I stumbled across this one, which I hadn't realized was here. The food is still what I remembered - Great. I love their breakfasts. I yelped breakfast restaurants in the area and this one was closest in the direction I was going. It's in a strip mall, and I didn't think highly of it. Once inside, it's large and doesn't look like a great breakfast joint. Boy was I wrong. I ordered the cob wrap. Honestly, this is the best wrap I have ever had. It wasn't drenched in sauce like many places. The lettuce was crisp, and it was full of flavor. I was amazed and shocked on how good this wrap was. My buddy ordered the chicken tamale omelet. I tried it. That was pretty amazing as well. It was full of flavor. Something you would expect from a good Mexican restaurant. They even gave us crepes on the house. That too was really good. Very fluffy and soft. I must say, I was really impressed with this place. So impressed that I book market it so I can come back here. I love breakfast, and I would definitely drive all the way from OC just to have breakfast food here again. Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves good food.
