My wife and I stopped by for breakfast while our car was in for service at Toyota. We weren't very hungry, so we ordered from the Early Bird menu -- pancakes for me and French toast for my wife -- plus a bowl of clam chowder. The food was okay overall, but the complimentary crepe is always the best part. The server was friendly and fast, even though it was a busy Black Friday morning with the restaurant more than 80% full. One unique thing here: they offer a 3.5% discount if you pay with cash, which is a nice bonus. Overall, a solid breakfast spot for a casual morning meal.

We came, we ordered, we saw, we conquered/ate!

Eggs and things is a solid choice for breakfast. After you order, they bring you 1 Swedish pancake to enjoy while you're waiting on your food. I typically order French toast or pancakes here with a side of ham. Good place to come with kids. Busy weekend mornings

What went well...um everything!! Eggs N Things got them thangs! Wonderful restaurant, I usually visit the one in Valencia, but today I was in Ventura and Eggs N Things travels well. Chicken fried steak for the win today, yummy biscuit and gravy. My Mom ordered something they have on the menu at the Valencia location, but not this location. Check my picture for the deets! They were busy today, but everything was perfect. This place is a well oiled machine and our waitress Shayla was totally spectacular!! Great, great customer service. My Mom requested a Valencia location menu item, Shayla didn't bat an eyelash putting it all together a al crate for her and for cheaper then the Valencia location and a bigger serving.....shhhh, don't tell the Valencia location. Thank you Eggs N Things for a wonderful Sunday breakfast this morning and thank you Shayla for supreme customer service.

I am not a French toast person. I am not the person who goes anywhere and orders a French toast. Neither do I make them at home because I'm just not a fan. HOWEVER, egg n things might have just changed the game for me. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted French toast with coconut flakes and syrup and it was incredible! Tasty all around! And they don't just put a little sprinkle of macadamia nuts. It's everywhere and I love it! I was actually even able to share it with someone because there was so much of it but next time I might just have to eat it all myself. I ordered it with the side of bacon and eggs and everything was up to par. I'm so excited to explore the menu here.

I was on my way to solvang for vacation and made a stop for breakfast. I came here around 10:30am on a Sunday and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Our waitress came by and took our order and the food came out quickly and hot! They have a ton of booths and tables inside but it does get busy. Our food was great! The breakfast burrito had sausage, egg, cheese and potato with sour cream and salsa on the side. It was so hot and tasted fresh. The Swedish pancakes are always amazing and delicious! I'm sad there isn't a location closer but if I'm headed this way I'll be back!

I believe I had this place to go before and I wasn't a fan then either. We were supposed to go to the Cam location but this one had no wait time so we came here - once again ... not a fan . The only thing I finished was the hash browns. The crepes were flavorless, even with the fruit. My husband enjoyed his French toast but my brother didn't care for his either. The service was great though! The establishment was clean. The pepper sauce was AMAZING!! I want to try the Camarillo location & see & maybe try this location for lunch but other than that - I'll pass.

Free crape to start your appetite off!!

Prices are the best in town! Fast and friendly service and fantastic food! Don't let the line outside deter you from stopping in. The wait is never long. This is our breakfast/lunch staple

We came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. We each ordered a cocktail. She got a blueberry margarita and I got a cucumber gin mixed drink. Both were refreshing and delicious. We ended up ordering another round. For appetizers we ordered the crispy maple Brussels and tuna & salmon tartare. The Brussels were fried to perfection and glazed a sweet maple syrup. It also came with thick cuts of bacon. Definitely recommend this. For the tartare, it was also delicious and fresh. It was mixed with avocado and turnip. We thought the turnip would be off putting but it actually meshed well with the flavors. Came with fried wonton chips. For the main course we shared the NY strip and Lobster Malfaldine. The steak was cooked to perfection with a very nice sear and flavored well. Probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. Definitely beats out any steakhouse steak. The Lobster Malfaldine was also absolutely delicious. Most of the time, lobster pasta is usually a bit bland and lacking in lobster. NOT HERE. They included big chunks of lobster and the sauce was so good. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Strawberry Hand Pie. This is basically a warm strawberry strudel with vanilla bean ice cream. They used locally sourced strawberries and I'm still thinking about it as I'm writing this review. Adrienne was our server and she was very nice and attentive. Since it was my girlfriend's birthday, they comped our dessert. Super nice staff!

Last December, a friend came across The Cave while looking for a place to have lunch in Ventura and…read moresuggested we give it a try. I'm really glad he did because it's the kind of place I probably wouldn't have found on my own. The first thing that caught our attention was the self-serve wine dispensers lined with bottles ready to sample. We had a lot of fun walking back and forth, looking over the different selections, and deciding what to taste next. Being able to sample wines by the ounce before committing to a full glass made the whole experience feel interactive. I especially liked that I could compare different Cabernet Sauvignons side by side, which isn't something you get to do very often. After trying a few different Cabernets, Chimney Rock ended up being my favorite. The dining room added to the experience. The cave-like ceilings, warm lighting, and comfortably spaced tables made it easy to settle in, enjoy our lunch, and catch up without feeling cramped or rushed. If you enjoy trying different wines, it's easy to lose track of time here. We started with a cheese plate, which turned out to be much more generous than I expected. It came with a nice assortment of cheeses, crisp apple slices, grapes, candied walnuts, crostini, and a savory relish on the side. It was a great dish to share with our wine. My friend ordered the tuna poke tower, and we shared the cheese flatbread and sweet potato fries. I went with the Original Cave Salad with salmon, which came with a generous piece of perfectly cooked salmon over fresh greens, apples, grapes, walnuts, and blue cheese. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that we left completely satisfied. One thing I appreciated was that we never felt rushed. Lunch naturally turned into an afternoon of catching up, comparing notes on the different wines, and deciding which pours we wanted to try next. Before we left, we wandered through the wine shop one more time. If you discover a favorite during lunch, you can pick up a bottle before heading home, which is a nice touch. I'm really glad my friend found this place. The next time I'm in Ventura, it'll definitely be on my list again.

Had a baby shower scheduled on a Saturday and left completely disappointed. Firstly, we scheduled…read morethis event and paid a deposit well over 6 weeks ago. The day before, the owner Michele couldn't seem to find the paperwork where we discussed menu, family style, decor, budget etc. Thankfully, we went in the day before to double check everything. Not only were we met with a misogynistic retort to everything we talked about but he did not clarify any details that we later found out would be important. The day of the event, we accidentally hit a bottle of wine bringing in the decorations. Total accident! During the party, we had to constantly find our server (super nice guy but terrible service) to take drink orders, to take food orders, and to clear the table and bring to go boxes. Drinks weren't refilled. We cut and served the cake we brought. Then our bill comes and surprising to us, we were charged a room fee (which I confirmed they DID NOT have prior to booking), charged a cake fee (just for them to store it in their fridge and NEVER told there would be a fee for bringing a dessert, despite Michele asking the day before if we were bringing our own or using them for dessert), and he charged us $50 for the bottle we accidentally broke. With all these extra charges, in addition to already paying a deposit, we were way over the previously discussed budget. I never would have agreed to his idea of everyone ordering individual dishes instead of family style plus his outrageous extra fees had I know it was going to blow the budget. He had every opportunity to tell us there is a cake fee (never have I EVER had to pay a fee to bring a cake- even our server said he felt it was in poor taste to charge us for that). We refused to pay the room fee because we already put down a deposit and were never told there would be these extraneous charges! The terrible ending happened when I slipped and fell (8 months pregnant) in the front of the restaurant RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE OWNER, who stood over me as I was on the ground, and said "you must have slipped on the wine you spilled." Never offered concern, never offered to help me and never apologized. A staff member from the kitchen ran out to help me despite Michel being an arms length from me, looking down on me. Such a disgrace. My dress was dirtied from their floor and I was left with bruises on my knees the next day. No wet floor sign, clearly the floor wasn't cleaned up properly or dried. We will never patronize this restaurant again. What was meant to be a beautiful event turned into a calamity met with a chauvinist owner who lacks customer service and compassion.

Finding a restaurant that can handle our motley crew including a senior citizen with a walker and a very camera ready little dog has its challenges. They helped us navigate thru the back patio with the walker to a well situated spot. Curiosity got the best of me because it looked like a house so I decided to dig a little bit more into it. Apparently, it's a 1920s Spanish bungalow They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is attentive and very friendly. Now the food... Oh man, it was delicious!! I was eating healthy and got just a plain chicken bowl and that was really nothing to write about, but that was my fault because who gets that when surrounded by such yummy food like Strawberry Matcha pancakes or Churro French Toast with kiwi, banana, berries and chantilly cream ‍ Anyways, we got the maple bacon beignets for the table and wow, that was delicious. Warm, fluffy, sweet, salty... yummm!! My son got the 2+2+2. At $23 it was a little pricey for two eggs, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes, but the pancakes were huge and barely fit on the plate. The bacon was also very thick and tasty. Warning: That the house made vanilla caramel syrup they serve is super addicting and you're gonna want to drizzle everything with it!! Everyone else at the table was really happy with what they ordered. Someone also ordered a biscuit on the side and that was by far the fluffiest biscuit I had ever seen. Usually they can be dry and hard, but this one was quite opposite. I've seen other pictures online and I guess it can be a hit or a miss because they don't seem to be consistent. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town and this time actually try the other plates I was eyeing

Walked right over to Dukes which is literally foot steps from the beach. To my surprise, not only was it pretty busy with the World Cup on every TV, but impressively, it didn't stop the service or kitchen from being super fast. Very impressive. I ordered to go this time so I could get back to parenting and enjoying the weather. Had to be quick so I could enjoy my time before it cools down and my sunburn fully sets in. I ordered the Gizmo which is basically a grilled chicken club on sourdough. It was great. Really don't have anything to add to that other than I would highly recommend it. Anyone who doesn't love a chicken, bacon and avocado sandwich might have some taste bud issues... It came with in-house made potato chips and those were also wonderful. I smashed that thing and literally went right to sleep in my chair. What a perfect beach day thanks to Dukes. To add to my food experiences and recommendations here, the time before this, I ordered the fish and chips. In my case it was the fried fish and sweet potato fries. It was so flavorful and crispy. I highly recommend eating it there or hopefully near by so it doesn't lose that fresh crunch. However, you have to get any and all fries with their Ranch. I had to get extra as I couldn't seem to get enough. Obviously every fry needed to have a disgusting amount of ranch on it.
