We came here for Mother's Day breakfast with my family and were told the wait would only be about 10 minutes. Yes, it was busy, but honestly not nearly as packed as other places we had seen, so we decided to stay and wait. After about 30 minutes, we noticed multiple big groups being seated before us. My husband checked in again just to make sure we were still on the list. Then another 15 minutes passed, and I finally went up myself, only to find out we had never actually been checked in at all. At that point, I was frustrated and honestly embarrassed for my family because we had already waited so long with hungry kids, checking in multiple times, only to realize we had basically been forgotten. To their credit, I think the manager realized the mistake and got us seated pretty quickly after that. Once seated, the service was okay, but the food was unfortunately very underwhelming for the price. By then we were starving, so we ate most of it, but nothing besides the pancakes really stood out. Most of the food tasted bland and basic. The hostess seemed very inexperienced, and our waitress also seemed irritated when we asked to change one dish shortly after ordering. My advice would be to double-check several times that you are actually checked in if your name hasn't been called. And if you do eat here, stick with the pancakes. Chicken fried steak for the win today, yummy biscuit and gravy. My Mom ordered something they have on the menu at the Valencia location, but not this location. Check my picture for the deets! HOWEVER, egg n things might have just changed the game for me. I ordered the macadamia nut crusted French toast with coconut flakes and syrup and it was incredible! Tasty all around! And they don't just put a little sprinkle of macadamia nuts. It's everywhere and I love it! I was actually even able to share it with someone because there was so much of it but next time I might just have to eat it all myself. Was really disappointed with this visit, I feel like the quality has gone down. Service was okay, waitress poured my coffee and spilled around the menu. I was on my way to solvang for vacation and made a stop for breakfast. I came here around 10:30am on a Sunday and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Our waitress came by and took our order and the food came out quickly and hot! They have a ton of booths and tables inside but it does get busy. Our food was great! Junk Fees are ridiculous on an already expensive menu. 3% for using a credit card...isn't that already factored in their $19 2-egg breakfast? 50-cents per egg dish charge. Ok, when eggs were sure expensive a few months ago ago, I could sympathize but now that prices have leveled off, it's unnecessary. Eggs n Things, there are lots of places offering breakfast, located close to you locations. That don't have the wait and are not nickeling and dining their loyal clients. Your addition of these tiny overcharges have cost you at least one loyal customer. I doubt I'm the only one. I'm a 3-times a month customer, going to your stores for 20+years with at least one other person. That makes my Lifetime value to your business around $43,000. I believe I had this place to go before and I wasn't a fan then either. We were supposed to go to the Cam location but this one had no wait time so we came here - once again ... not a fan . The only thing I finished was the hash browns. The crepes were flavorless, even with the fruit. My husband enjoyed his French toast but my brother didn't care for his either. I for one did not, like this. It's too bad they have to do this. "Stick the knife in and turn it"... When checking out.. they asked how was everything? I expressed my disappointment... Got excuses/back peddling and what felt like defensiveness... We have been going to this breakfast place for many many years. Service is always good. Portions are appropriate. We love the chilli Verde omelette, the corned, beef, hash, and their fresh baked biscuits and gravy. I used to love the chicken fried steak, but it has gone downhill, very dry and very overcooked. I've tried it several times and this is how it comes out. The hashbrowns we have complained about, seem to be leftovers and very thin. We will no longer order them. The hollandaise sauce is one of the best. Always rich, fresh and creamy. The rest of the crew had omelettes which they said were excellent. My husband and I really love coming here for breakfast. If you're not from Ventura, and you're visiting, I highly recommend! Locals already know this place is good. On the weekends there is usually a line waiting to get in from the moment they open until about 11AM. The line starts to move faster around 10:30 AM after the 9AM rush dies down. But, sometimes there's still a bit of a wait. Be prepared. It's worth it! This restaurant loves their customers and loves what they do! The BEST breakfasts. Always consistently exceptional. The moment you are seated you're attended to. Coffee comes out quickly as well as creamers, waters, or whatever drink you choose. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and informative and attentive. The food is always fantastic. You get free crepes to enjoy while you wait. It's a bustling, happily noisy atmosphere where all the tables are always filled during breakfast and there's a comfort in that. The place is very clean. I really believe this location is a gem! Today we met a server / waitress named Alexis who was absolutely amazing! She was friendly and told us her favorite dishes when we asked. She was very gracious and kind. We came in probably about an hour before closing, not realizing what time it was or what time they closed and were seated without issue. Our server was fantastic and very hospitable and did everything she could to ensure we were taken care of. Everything started off great until my mom got to her second egg in her eggs Benedict just to get a mouthful of cooked egg shells. Upon further digging through the egg, MORE egg shell was found. It was like the chef just threw the entire egg in the pot and called it a day. Our server quickly tried to remedy the situation and spoke to her manager, Levi, who did not bother to come to our table ONCE to find out what happened. Instead he decided a $9 discount would suffice and sent our waitress back to us with a new bill. I told her honestly, we aren't paying for any of the Benedict so the manager needs to remove it entirely. She apologized and went to speak to him. She came back with it entirely off the bill and apologized again and asked if she could bring us anything else. Levi did not come over at all for this entire interaction and when we went to pay, all he had to say was "have enough?" I only got his name because I asked him, he had zero intention of addressing the situation and he threw his waitress under the bus making HER have to do HIS job in addressing the egg shell Benedict. Thank you so much Alyssa for doing such a fantastic job, again no one was upset with you and I applaud you for handling everything as a manager is meant to. Levi, you need to be more professional and learn how to handle things like a proper manager instead of hiding at the cash register and sending your servers to do your dirty work. Every time I have gone to this location, the food has been great, but the service was the opposite. During our last visit, our server, Jocelyn, was neglectful of our table, while she visited the table next to us, seated full of her friends, several times. The table of her friends even got their check before us, despite them having a larger group and having arrived after us. Our waitress would repeatedly peak over at us, but would never actually come over. For the first ten minutes, I had to wait for her to come over just to ask her for hot sauce. I only got to have hot sauce on the last 3 bites of my food lol.
