We had a fabulous time enjoying the kicked up LocoMoco and organic Açaí bowl. True to their nature, the Loco Moco is outstanding with a tasty patty, grilled onions, mushrooms, Portuguese sausage and egg yolks running on our rice mountain. We sparingly added the side of gravy because it did not need the gravy. Best tasting acai bowl had both organic açaí and crunchy granola. Honey and fruit topped it off. What a cool a healthy açaí bowl. Our fellow guest had gorgeous looking Eggs Benedict and free fluffy pancakes. They always get the EB which we will order next time we go. Love the location ala Moana adjacent. Don't forget to order the açaí bowl, it's worth your time. Onolicious. read more

A total tourist trap -- just packed to the gills with people not from the area who don't care what they are eating or paying. At first we were excited, mostly based on the selection and the crowd waiting to be seated. Seemed like we had found a gem. We were seated after a 40 min wait. The server was really nice, and the coffee was okay. But then the food came... At Eggs n' Things, you're definitely paying for quantity, NOT quality. The Crab Benedict was super mushy, and was mostly bread so overall fairly flavorless. They slathered it in a really rich hollandaise and it overwhelmed the whole plate. With sauces like that, a little goes a long way. The eggs on the omlette were flavorless, and the corned beef hash was just of mediocre quality. Found a bone nub in the omlette, which was obviously disgusting. If you like IHOP, this is your place. If you're trying to find a really fun, good brunch spot, look elsewhere. read more

Don't really see what the big hype is about...the food is not OMG-good, but not bad either. I'd come back for pancakes since I rather buy them than make them, but that's about it. Service was good, even though the place was busy. read more

Lots of tourists but also great for kama'aina & their out-of-town guests. Very pleasant service, and everyone was served at the same time. Food was delicious. An all-around excellent experience. read more

Updating my review. Last few times in there the service has greatly improved. The Paniolo Loco Moco is really good too! Kama'aina discount too! read more

Have gone to Original E&Things since the 80s,..Decided to try this 1 near ala Moana, and Never ever again will I go,& have told everyone I know Not to as well. Had two diff. very Diva'ish servers,Both with Major attitudes, acting inconvenienced by requests or even getting their attention for Anything beyond ordering, which they rush on you..service staff is Miserable here,in so many ways..the food, was Mis prepared,& not very good even when done as requested, and Way over priced for what it was read more

Love the pancakes and loco moco breakfast...would have given 5 stars but service is lacking friendliness

Our server Ryan was awesome, pancakes were great, but my crab eggs benedict did not have any crab meat, it tasted more like crab fillers than crab cake. read more

Eggs and things Waikiki was awesome. The plantation Porkchop was delicious, pancakes were massive so don't order side dishes to go with it. The Portuguese sausages were Yum as well. read more

FOOD WAS GREAT! Walked into a very friendly environment with greetings from many employees. Our server was awesome but we noticed another hard working man by the name of Russel. Russel was always moving working hard and showed his love for his job just by his hard work. It was an honor to see him in action being the best worker out of my very eyes. But overall great experience and would recommend this to everyone ! read more

The hostess was very rude, impatient, and unaccommodating. The place was empty, it was 8 PM. Drove a long way as well. Wanted to sit in a corner booth, but she was mad bc she had to wipe the damn table. So I offered to wipe it myself! She kept going with the attitude. So, we got up and left. Horrible! How's the food? I heard it was good, but I'll never know bc I'll never go back. read more

there was a time where this was the ONLY place in Waikiki to go for banging breakfast (it was THE place), and the hour to two hour wait was justified. Now there are lots of equally competent and value minded breakfast and brunch options within blocks so they can't run it like 'they used to'. Food is not spectacular, service is always hurried and themed as 'eat and get off my table'. it's not a place you can relax and enjoy your meal, it's an hour of waiting (tired or hungover, or both) and that is followed by a dining experience that in whole, lasts less than 25 minutes. I can name 10 different brunch or diners that could serve comparably priced and menu'd food, but they probably have an hour or two wait time as well. I waited and ate because it was closeby and I was hungry, not because it was Eggs n Things and a right of passage as a Waikiki goer. 4 stars for the food, 2 stars for cleanliness (I see you wiping the tables, but it's more like how clean is that rag and when you open the salt and pepper shakers, you can see how 'clean' a restraurant really is (or isn't). Probably nobody is cleaning the ketchup bottles (other than wiping them down with the same rag they wipe the tables with), the drink dispensers (that are in the back where customers can't see) need sanitizing (I can taste it in my drink) and it's been more than one occasion where I felt the dishwasher didn't get the lipstick off the juice cup that was on there before me. I saw a server pick up something that fell off of the food, onto the counter of the pick up area, and then with bare hands, put it back on the plate (nice you want to make sure your customer gets all their meal comes with, but you didn't wash your hands, you were cleaning tables with a dirty rag just minutes before, I also saw you wipe the side of your face moving a hair away from your forehead with the same hand you did that with). Oh auntie! It has a feeling of cleanliness of a golden corral, but locals don't have one here so they don't know. read more

Very Good breakfast! I can recommend the pancakes! They are fresh and very fluffy. In Addition the pancakes are not so fatty like the pancakes in other Restaurants normally are. The staff is very friendly! And in comparison to the other eggs'n'things restaurants in Waikiki this restaurants is more clean. read more

Go after 8 and expect to WAIT. Place is ok but super noisy. Noise levels rival a busy Chinese restaurant.

Alrite....Lets start this post on the right foot: food- excellent! I got the acai bowl and my friend got the seafood benny. Looked good, smelled good, taste great! Now, here comes the rough patches: service.....suuuuuuuuuuuucked. how is it that my acai bowl can come 12 minutes later than my friends hot dish? here we are, just staring at his dish, waiting waiting waiting. Like c'mon? If that was the only issue, i wouldn't fuss but wait...there's more. When we get the bill i put the plastic down and wait for the waitress to come by with the machine. waiting waiting waiting..... like for realz? free meal? k, maybe gotta pay upfront, so i walk over to the counter with the bill. there was a young guy fiddling with the till, DONT EVEN LOOK UP. ok....maybe he's just slow. 3 min later, still not an acknowledgement TO YOUR PATRON... CMON DUDE. now you aint just slow you are RUDE. Ive just about had it with this joint but another lady comes by and apologizes for the wait. Dude just looks up w/o a word/ smile/ aloha. dude needs to learn some hospitality and manners, man. O/a folks, you want eggs & things experience? Go Waikiki, dont even bother with this one. they got A LOT to learn about the customer service. Ain't all about the ono food you know. SHOOTS! read more

LOVE the food, I usually order the Eggs Benedict. The pancakes are amazingly delicious.

When I arrived in Hawaii, someone suggested that I try a breakfast in eggs' n things. Therefore, last weekend I went to the restaurant and I ordered the special, which was island sausage and eggs. There are many locations of eggs' n things. The nearest restaurant is close to Ala Moana and a Nijiya market. There are lots of parking spots, and you can park for free. However ,the restaurant was too small and noisy, so I decided to do take away. But the food was really good!. The price was around ten dollars. I'm sure I will return and try a different meal. read more

2 stars for service but 4 stars for food When it comes to customer service they are fast & productive, but they don't seem to like their job by their faces. Their faces "show me hurry up, order & leave I want work to end".On the other hand their food is amazing their pancakes are indulging. The sweet bread French toast to die for. The best deal is their meats & things. Food is great but unwelcoming for a tourist magnet restaurant. read more

I wish I could remember the name of our waiter because he was fantastic. I'm really picky about how my bacon is cooked and before I could even tell him he asked if I wanted it crispy and when I said no he asked if that means soft or regular which no one ever asks. then when he brought it out he told me if it wasn't soft enough he'd have then re-cook it, but it was perfect. Which restaurants never cook my bacon the way I like it so I was extremely pleased. read more

Came for brunch, wow it was delicious but perhaps too much so! The eggs were beautifully cooked as expected as were the whip smoothies and iced coffee. If anything, the meals were a little bit rich for my palette and half servings would have been sufficient for me. Nevertheless a great morning option with two locations. read more

My husband and I ate breakfast here when we were on our honeymoon. The Hawaiian Locomoco was SOOOO good! I was a little hesitant to trying something different but was really glad I tried it. It is basically rice with meat and gravy topped off with 2 sunny side eggs. That dish is extremely filling and was very satisfying. The only thing i didn't really like here was the sticky tables. I hate it when you put your hands on the table and your hand sticks to the surface. Other than that, It was really good! I would definitely eat here again. read more

I had the coconut waffle and it was so good. I used the coconut syrup which made it even better. I ended up buying a bottle of syrup to bring home. Would eat there again and again. Great service, great food and looking out over the ocean. Doesn't get any better than this. read more

Runny sunny side up eggs is not so good. I try to be understanding because it was really busy when I was there. I just was so underwhelmed. I wasn't expecting a lot though so I gave it more than 1 star. It's just "ok". read more

Steak and eggs is my fav!!! Along with the Macadamia Pancakes with the Haupia (coconut) syrup!!!! Yummy!!

The food is good. My issue is the fact that they are located in Hawaii, with a "no shirt, no shoes, no service" policy, not listed anywhere visible in/or out of the restaurant. We were asked to wait outside 15 minutes for our table (no problem) and then as we were being seated, asked to put shirts on (2 if us), with a sassy attitude. If we had been notified before we would have had the opportunity to change locations if we chose to do so. read more

I used to eat here regularly. I loved the acai bowl they served here and would get it a couple times a week. Recently management decided to drastically decrease the amount of acai in the bowl. It really is just a fruit cup with acai. I was extremely disappointed that they just didn't increase the price a bit if they felt they were not profiting enough. I sent an email in reference to this weeks ago with no response. I asked tonight if there was any change or if I could pay additional. I was dismissed and treated in a manner that wasn't deserving of a very loyal customer. read more

Just got through eating here. Was initially excited because this location has parking and indoor decor nice and bright. However service was slow, had to ask for coffee to be refilled and they only poured half a cup, they didn't refill the almost empty water glass, and the pancakes were dry and rubbery. We were sitting next to the service station and the waiters apparently didn't think their conversations could be heard loud an clear by customers. One commented to the other that it was an unusually slow Sunday...well if it's "slow" then why didn't they refill drinks or even check up on us. They never came back after the food was finally dropped off. Since we were siting next to the service station it was easy to just reach over and grab an extra napkin or fork but I felt bad for other patrons who were just waiting. Cashier was overly eager to get payment and thrust her hand out for our money without even looking up. Won't be coming back at all. read more

I don't know why this place only has 3 stars. We ate here during our short stay in Honolulu and the food was great! Our food came out quickly, our server Sarah was VERY friendly and accommodating. We even got our bill and drinks in a timely manner. I would def come back here for breakfast. read more

I don't know about this place. First we waited an hour to sit. Then we ordered. And then we waited and waited and waited. I got the pork chops and eggs and it was "meh". I was expecting the pork chop to be your typical slab of pork chop and not a piece of breakfast ham with a bone in it. My friend had the crab cake and eggs Benedict and it seemed the crab cake was crabless and the potatoes that come with it were previously frozen. There was even a piece of egg shell in the benedict. NOT COOL. My other friend had your typical corned beef hash and eggs. I know the corned beef came out of a can because of its moist consistency. The scrambled came out dry which I don't know how you can over dry eggs but it was. And the waffles were really thin and i didn't know waffle makers came in that size. Our waiter didn't ask if we wanted refills nor did he grab our glasses to attempt to refill. And the price does not justify the quality at all, and I know the economy is bad and all, but come on, for the price I would expect it to exceed The Original Pancake House, and that place is awesome. Never again. I get better quality at McDonald's for fraction of the price. read more

Ordered the mangoes and cheesecake crepe. Not what I thought it would taste like. Wouldn't recommend ordering it and I would not order this again :( read more

Made the mistake of going there NOT for breakfast but for the dinner service on Monday 11/19/12. Lets just say this...stick to their breakfast menu. We had the ahi furikake (at market price) and ordered it with potatoes and got rice instead. My wife threw half of the fish away, over cooked rubber and drier than heck. She also got the toss salad with the meal and yikes how can you screw up tossed salad? I had the chicken fried steak which the counter host (order taker girl) didn't even know what that was and asked me how I wanted my steak done?? I said chicken fried...duh. Anyway a rubber mass covered in pathetic breading and stock package brown gravy. It had to be the worst chicken fried steak I have ever had and I have traveled to many cities in the USA and Guam etc and this was THE WORST! My dog wouldn't even eat it. Save your money and don't go there for dinner or at least don't eat what we did. Also spent over $35 for just these two take out plates, which you have to go in the store to order as they don't take phone orders for take out. Will not return, EVER for dinner there. Maybe we might do breakfast again but fool me once..... read more

If there were an option to write a review WITHOUT giving any stars, that would be my review. But since it's impossible, the 1 star stands. I've tried this place about 3xs since its opening always hoping for a better experience with staff, food, and wait time and every single time I've gone back, it keeps getting worse and worse until I finally decided I will NEVER eat here!!! I'm guessing because of the "hype" of the Waikiki location, tourists have been frequenting this location because of many positives, one being that it's right next door to Ala Moana . . Hello!!! =) But the positives STOP there; ok, not fully. . . There is an entire private lot of parking for Eggs 'n Things as well as the other restaurants in this snug location. +'s: - Parking - Ala Moana - Kama'aina discount -'s: - Service sucks - Coffee sucks - Food sucks - There is an african american guy [waiter] who speaks fluent Japanese who randomly breaks out with inappropriate sexual jokes that it's disgusting! For example, my mom ordered coffee and when he asked if she would like cream or sugar she said no just black and hot, to which his response, "Perfect. Just like I like my women." Then as we ordered we asked for something else [can't quite remember] to which his response was something along the lines of, "That's what my gf said last night." Eww! Who the hell says stuff like this to customers? I have absolutely NO interest in your sexual escapades. Yuck! - Like I mentioned, I've been there 3xs, all 3xs being cashed out by the same girl. Finally on our last visit there our waiter told us to let the cashier know we are kama'aina discount. I was so shocked because there's no signs that alert customers that we get a discount, I mean really, do the locals really have to ask EVERY restaurant for kama'aina discount? It would get ridiculous! Anyways, the girl had a difficult time giving us the kama'aina discount -- couldn't figure out the proper discount amount or something. . But finally after getting it I said, I've been coming here for the past could weeks and I have never gotten a discount. The girl looked me dead in the eye and actually LIED! She said, "I know you're kama'aina, I've been giving you guys the discount all the time!!" BULLSHIT!! I look at all my receipts and have NEVER seen a discounted price. How dare this establishment lie to their customers and hire staff with inappropriate sexual comments!! Shame on you!! I will NEVER return, and you shouldn't either!! Be forewarned that you will also wait over an hour for food that clearly SUCKS! There's way better breakfast places for a cheaper price! read more

The prices are much too high for the quality of food you get. This is basic breakfast fare with too high of a dollar amount per plate. The eggs benedict was drenched in sauce and the bread they served the benedict on was house made and nothing like a fluffy english muffin- not what was expected at all! The omelet was pretty flat and it came out warm while the potatoes on the side came out cold and mushy. The sweet cappuccinos are WAY too sweet. I'm a sucker for sweets but that drink didn't even make it half-way down. Additionally, this place is crawling with tourists which meant they were well-staffed and the service was quick but that still doesn't get them a higher star experience. read more

Went here for a nice early morning breakfast. The wait was short at that time. We ordered the Hawaiian Sweet French toast and traditional loco Moco, both were really good. Our waiter and other staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. The coffee was also some of the best restaurant coffee I've ever had. Overall, good food for a decent price. read more

i used to like the egg'n'things in waikiki, but this one sucks. food is so-so, but the price is outrageous! to expensive for what you get.

Horrible workers! Went on 3/29 saturday for a late nite dinner with my bf and I ordered a paniolo loco moco. I had ordered a well done patty. When I received it, I broke apart the hamburger patty to make sure its not pink inside and it was. I asked the waiter to double check with the chef to see if it was supposed to be that color. After the food was shown to the chef, the chef had the nerve to come out of the kitchen to see who was complaining. Worse of all, the waiter said that the meat was supposed to be pink. How awful. It was funny though because there was only a few people dining at the time and it made it even more obvious. Cant wait until the grading system comes read more

Food and service is so so. Your paying Waikiki prices out of Waikiki. You might get better service if you were a Japanese tourist. Wouldn't reccomend for locals. read more

I came here last night so excited because my favorite dish is eggs Benedict. On the menu it said it was supposedly a "specialty" of theirs so I immediately picked that to order with fried potatoes. When I got it I got even more excited. It looked like a huge portion. BUT then when I cut into my egg it did not run. It was over cooked and hard. I was angry but I was already so hungry, and didn't want to wait so I just continued eating. The hollandaise sauce was pretty okay, I would say it was decent. The Canadian ham was alright too. I liked the 'Hawaiian muffin' on the bottom but it was barely toasted and hard to cut into. Next most of the potatoes were over cooked, some hard and burnt, some crispy, some soft. There was no consistency. I was really disappointed. Lastly I tried a butter milk pancake. It looked super fluffy. They even had pancake mix for it selling in the front so I thought it'd be really good. It had no taste and wasn't so great. Their syrups were all very cold and it didn't make me want to eat anymore. All in all I had a pretty bad experience from here. Only giving two stars because their service was good. They were really nice people. Don't know if I'll choose to come back though. read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - Regular eggs Benedict with fried potatoes. Supposedly a "favorite". Over cooked poached eggs & potatoes. Disappointing - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

My family had plans to eat at Eggs n Things, last nite, Sunday, 09/11/16. We were greeted by the manager, asking the number of people in my party. Among the adults, I mentioned we had a baby in a stroller. He immediately replied that it's illegal by fire regulations, to have a stroller in his restaurant. He insisted that baby needed to sit in a high chair instead. We feel this kind of rule is a form of discrimination. Baby not old enough to sit in a high chair in the first place! Would this rule also apply to any disabled or handicapped person in a wheelchair too? Because of this, we decided not to ever dine here, and at the same time pass the word along that Eggs n Things have this rule. I rate this restaurant as NOT babies/children friendly--0! read more
