My family had plans to eat at Eggs n Things, last nite, Sunday, 09/11/16. We were greeted by the manager, asking the number of people in my party. Among the adults, I mentioned we had a baby in a stroller. He immediately replied that it's illegal by fire regulations, to have a stroller in his restaurant. He insisted that baby needed to sit in a high chair instead. We feel this kind of rule is a form of discrimination. Baby not old enough to sit in a high chair in the first place! Would this rule also apply to any disabled or handicapped person in a wheelchair too? Because of this, we decided not to ever dine here, and at the same time pass the word along that Eggs n Things have this rule. I rate this restaurant as NOT babies/children friendly--0! read more

I had the Paniolo loco. It was bad. The gravy was cold and stiff that it did not sleep into the rice. Tried to scrape off the gravy to eat the loco mono. Not planning to go back. read more

I've always had a pleasant experience coming here, perhaps the only negative is there always seems to be a wait (but not too long at all). Food has been great, if nothing else, perhaps too much food, ha, ha. I remember the wait to be a lot longer at the Kalakaua location, which had a fire there. Looks like mostly a tourist crowd with some locals. read more

My family and I had breakfast here while on vacation in Waikiki. We went to the Saratoga road location. For our family of 4 we shared two orders of pancakes. One order of the macadamia nut pancakes which were loaded with Mac nuts and an order of blueberry pancakes with whipped cream. Both were delicious and more than enough for all of us! We ate here twice on our trip and both times it was super busy with a little bit of a wait but that was ok because the staff was super friendly and helpful and made it a great experience. read more

This place is FUCKED UP! Treat the locals like crap! Customer service is not up to par. People seem to be unaware of what's going on. Once we sat down wait more then 10 minutes to get greeted even tho they are slow. Kids seem to not know how to take care of customers. Manager here at the moment is a child and don't know what she seems to be doing. How does this place survive? By stupid customers who don't care for customer service. Let places like this take advantage of locals. No class! As we left, the person who sat us said "thank you! Have a nice day" what a fucken idiot! He just sat us not know what the fuck is happening! People here are fucken high and restarted! Only people I seen all Morning was old people and they didn't seem to care about service. I will never go back and I will let all the locals know. I'm in the surf community and know quite a few important people. Let's see EGGS N THINGS SURVIVE WITH BAD REVIEWS! I'll make it my own business to make sure this place has a hard time surviving. read more

I went to the restaurant with my 2 kids (7 & 10) over the weekend during lunch. The service was exceptional! I must say it was out of my expectation. My younger one probably was too hungry and ate too fast when the food was out which cause him to threw up everything back on his plate. blah! I ask the server (Lawrence) to order him another same plate and thinking he would charge me another plate of food but he didn't. He also came back asking how he was doing and offer a free drink to make him feel better. I have not seen this type of service for a very long in Hawaii. It's the care I see in the server and appreciate more of it than the food itself. The food were great too but it is not something I usually take my kids. The dining experience is worth of a visit and love to see Eggs & Things have more workers like Lawrence! Thank you very much. Oh... the Furikake Ahi is what i would recommend. So ono! read more

Went there early in the morning to meet a client. Never again. I mean never. I arrived early as I normally do so the client didn't have to wait for me. I actually sat in my car in front of the restaurant from 6am until a little after 7 working. Very few people went into the restaurant between 6am when they opened and 7am when I left my car to enter the restaurant to get settled before my client arrived. The restaurant was empty. The parking lot was empty. There were a handful of patrons but no one was waiting and there were many open tables. Thought I would go inside, have a cup of coffee and prepare for the arrival of my client. I walked in and the person that I'm guessing was the hostess asked, "how many?". I indicated that I would be joined by one other person. She immediately without skipping a beat exclaimed, "sorry, we can only seat you when your entire party is here". It was obvious that she was just waiting to blurt that out. She had that whole speech cued up and ready to go like she was practicing it as she saw me standing outside reading the specials board. Really?!?! The restaurant and parking lot were almost empty! No line. No wait list. Waiters and waitresses standing around shooting the sh*t because they had no customers. Ridiculous. If I wasn't meeting someone that was right down Pi'ikoi street I would have left. I ended up sitting on a bench outside by myself trying to balance my laptop and files on my lap until my client showed up. One weak unnecessary experience is all it takes and this place is off my list of business meal meeting sites or personal meal venues. Doesn't matter what the service was like or what the food was like. Your front person ruined this place for me. Still SMDH. read more

It was a short wait before lunch time, and the booth was a good size and very comfortable for our family of four. Drinks were taken soon after we sat and then meals right after. The keiki meal was a good size for our 2 year old and a regular meal was a good size for my 10 year old. Chicken fried steak was a good size piece of steak and very tasty. The pancakes were very, very delicious. Had the macadamia nut pancakes and tried the coconut and guava syrups on the table and it put it over the top for me. Regular pancakes with the syrups were just fine as well. The rest of the meal was pretty standard eggs and bacon and sausage. With the Kama'aina discount, the meal was well worth it. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. read more

Portion is small and they do not use real whipped cream (disappointingly, it was a huge pile of the fake stuff). Also, the open creamer is left on the table even if you're not having coffee so anyone could contaminate it. As I looked around , there were some nice wait staff but we were the unlucky ones with someone with an attitude. The cashier had an attitude too. It is important that management lead by example. The prices would be okay if the portions were bigger and the staff were friendlier. read more

Its worth the wait for breakfast. The Paniolo Loco Moco is insanely delicious. Its a hearty homecooked meal. You won't be disappointed. The buttermilk pancake is the best I ever tasted and the omelette is filling, juicy, and oozing with cheese. Side note: server Ryan was awesome! read more

I am not sure if they were having an off Sunday but the food was lousy. The eggs benedict were overcooked (not just a little), hash browns were awful, the omelet was ok but not great. The place is also noisy, The waitress was nice. I would never go back. read more

It was not a bad experience but frankly overpriced and obviously targeted at separating Japanese tourists from their money. Unremarkable in terms of food quality and average service but the prices....whoa! The one menu item I would warn readers off is the local style fried rice which was frankly dreadful with zucchini and celery and all manner of things not in a decent fried rice. Stick to the eggs and pancakes but bring a fat wallet. At least for me, $35 for a basic breakfast is a bit over the top. read more

Normally I would never write a bad review...but I need to this time. We love to eat and we are always going out to eat so we know the difference between good service, bad service, good food and bad food. This particular establishment is so-so. The service isn't great but the management is horrible. In particular Robby Takahashi. As a manager, your job is to make sure that your guests/patrons are taken care of and not fight with the patron and tell them that he has no control over anything. Why is he even there? He as a manager should make sure that his patrons receive the best service possible. This is specifically referencing the iDcard and its' benefit. Per Eggs and Things website and iDcard website, it states " Up to 4 per ID Card". We had a party of 8 and we had 4 ID cards, but when I brought that up to Robby's attention he told me that he had to follow the rules. I then questioned him where in writing does it say that. He told me he would pull up the website. We pulled it up faster than he did and we showed him on both websites that it said up to 4 per card. It did not say only one card per table/check, or that we couldn't use multiple cards. This is definitely not about the discount...5% vs. 10%...this was about the principle of what he stated. As a manager, he should've just given us the 10% discount because he couldn't find it anywhere in the rules about what he was referring to and sticking to. He kept saying if Shawn was here he could get in trouble...like we knew who Shawn was. We finally had to ask him who is Shawn. Shawn is from iDcard and if he was there I would've challenged him as well. Do not put in words something that you cannot back up in documentation. Don't fight with the customer, guess what...the customer is always right...and even if they aren't right...they are right. You are there to service customers. If he wasn't so arrogant and spoke to us like people, we would've possibly been ok...but his tone of voice, his body language and his demeanor was just unacceptable. He needs management training and because of him, we will never return there. read more

[06.14.16] Decided to drive out of the hotel for breakfast (cause so expensive ). Hubby asked me to Yelp the closest breakfast place we could eat at and "Eggs n' Things" popped up so he drove there. We probably waited for about 10 minutes until we got seated. Hubby pulled out the kids GOLDFISH snack for them eat while we look at the menu for something to eat. Then a worker behind the counter stops and tells us, "no outside foods allowed". Hubby replied back, "you consider GOLDFISH outside food?" Only being seated for about 2 minutes, we took all our belongings and left. I went back in to ask the name of the person who was rude enough to tell us we can't have GOLDFISH snacks for our kids in their restaurant cause it's considered outside food (MARSHALL, STORE MANAGER from the Ala Moana Branch) No professionalism whatsoever! This place is NOT a kid friendly restaurant! On the other hand, we went found a better place to eat at, we had more than enough & we're satisfied! #CafeKailaBETTERthanEggsNThings read more

Food was okay. Service was good. I ordered a waffle and when you order a waffle you think you are getting a fluffy waffle and not a waffle that is flat like a pancake with the waffle lines on it. I wouldn't waste money on eating here. It's like a Hawaiian Denny's. Not worth it! The bathrooms you can't even wash your hand throughly because you have to continuously turn the faucet to keep the water on. How can employees that use the restroom wash their hand efficiently? Place doesn't meet very good standards. read more

We went there on Tuesday, found parking right by the entrance. We got seated as soon as we walked in at 750 am. Host gave us menus. We waited at least ten minutes, no one came to offer water or coffee. We were seated facing the front so I could see The male host and two other workers in the same aloha shirt print standing at the front yapping away. We decided we didn't want to spend more time or money in a place where customer service sucks. Walked out at 802 . Didn't think about asking to speak to manager until later on. Called the restaurant hoping to speak to the manager, but only recording comes on. read more

The coffee was ok, we came in the middle of Sunday brunch rush and the place was packed. The servers did a good job keeping us full of coffee, but the women servers had to wear the most hideous insulting aprons while the men just wore a shirt and pants which seems extremely unfair. We ordered quickly, but they were unable(unwilling?) to turn their omelette into a scramble nor did they bother to ask the kitchen. So instead I ordered egg whites and veggie stir fry and added pepper jack cheese--thank goodness I did too else it would have been a wet blanket of flavorless mush. The potatoes were excellent, the macadamia nut pancakes were also excellent--if only a slight bummer that it was just regular pancakes topped with the nuts not all throughout. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs from the spam and eggs were overdone so much they were inedible. The Benedict was good, though so perhaps the scrambled issue was due to the brunch rush. Overall, this place is inconsistent but some items were good. read more

Another visit to Eggs n Things Piikoi and another bad experience. I ordered the crab benedict and like another reviewer, I noticed they weren't real crab cakes. Tasted fake and found out they were actually only partial real crab. Rest was imitation crab. Also party way through the breakfast, realized no holandaise sauce on the benedict. Much better places on Oahu for breakfast! read more

The hostess told us 25 minute wait, which turned into 50 minutes. Took about another half hour for our orders to come out, so we were starving. We decided to get breakfast before our morning therapy exercise. I have eaten here before and knew that the price is slightly elevated being in ala moana. I decided to try the Ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions which the waitress Lola recommended the Signature Seasoning. It was totally disappointing considering the steak and eggs didn't come with any seasoning, no mushrooms or onions. I had to add Tabasco and ketchup to get flavor. I let the waitress know and all she could say was "oh I'm going to check with the kitchen" she never came back to update or apologize. A $19.95 steak with eggs and added amount for mushrooms and onions - FAIL. We were then not offered any additional refills on coffee or water. very disappointing. I let the register know and declined to speak with the manager read more

Tried to place a phone order in the other day but they said they don't do phone orders. When we went inside, we got greeted and asked "for 2" but we said take out. When we ordered the guy told us our total & did not ask if I wanted my receipt. He also did not repeat our order just incase we or he missed something. Our wait time was 10 minutes so we went to Nijiya Market to kill time. I feel like some of the employees are friendly while some are not. Wish that the chocolate chip pancakes had chocolate chips all over the pancake instead of just in the middle of it. Overall, the pancake was good. read more

We were on vacation and my friend recommended this place. The wait wasn't too long. The food was good, I expected more but oh well. This pace is way over priced in my opinion. My reason for the 2 star review is I order a coffee and hot cocoa the waiter only brought the hot cocoa. so I decided not to mention it but after looking at my bill I saw they charged me for both so naturally I told them to remove the charge because the coffee was never bought to me. The manager/owner comes up to me and says no you did get your coffee and pointed to the mug on the table and I said look at the receipt, there is a charge for 1 coffee and 1 hot cocoa but only 1 mug on the table and with a dumb look on his face he say oh and walks away, no apology nothing. All this after shelling out over $150 plus tip for breakfast. Yeah I'm really going to try and get out of paying for a $2 cup of coffee on a $150 bill, ridiculous! read more

I work in town and wanted to find some place new to grab some good breakfast. My friend suggested this place to me. So I figured, sure why not. I went there once and the food was awesome, the girl at the counter was really nice. I ordered a mushroom spinach omelette, which was pretty good and the portion was enough to save for lunch as well. But the review isn't about this experience about the second time I went. I ordered a a spinach, cheese, and turkey bacon omelette with potatoes as my side. My order was ready in about 10 minutes and I lef to head to work. When I got to work and started taking my food put of the bag, I instantly saw that something wasn't right. It was the wrong order! I was given a bag with blueberry pancakes with a crap load of whip cream?!?! Although, I like pancakes, I'm not a big fan of blueberries and instantly was just disappointed. I didn't touch it and my coworker received a free breakfas and I settled for a protein bar. I called them and explained and the girl remembered me and transferred me to the manager on duty, Noel, I think that's what his name was. He was really understanding and apologized. He took my name down and stated that I could get a full refund or I can just pick it up the next day, simce I was already at work. He took my name and number and apologized again. So of course, I went back again the next morning. The lady at the counter was nice but was confused because she couldn't find the notice, but another worker confirmed the situation that had happened. She went ahead and placed my order and told me that it would be ready in a few minutes. I sat outside and waited and sure enough came back out to ask what kind of cheese I wanted with the omelette. Another few minutes passed and another employee came out with my order. I said thank you and left. Finally I get to work and get my stuff ready and then sat down ready to eat my breakfast. And the I was just like wth is this. It was te omelette but where was my side? Sure enough I called again and just so happens the girl that had helped me when I went in was also a manager. I explained once again the entire scenerio on how everything happened and then started to explain that although my order was correct, what happened to my side? Her entire attitide changed and she stated that since I got the pancakes yesterday, that was considered my side?!?! I was like, wait, excuse me, So you're saying that the error you guys made initially, is my issue, my problem? She continued to explain that since I took the pancakes and didn't come back to return them that I accepted it as my side and that they were only replacing what was missing, which was the omelette. After that explaination, I became even more upset. I was just like, how is this even right? How do you tell your customers that, oh because you took the order, that was intially wrong from the beginning, we will only give you a portion of the correct order?! I stated that makes no sense, that it was on them that the order was incorrect and penalizing the customer was just wrong. I was just pissed after that. Then of course after that her toned changed and she was sincere and explained she would forward it to another manager and getting my information again. So now I have to wait for another call. I just don't get it, how do you try to turn around the blame onto the paying customer. I paid the full amount for an otem that wasn't corrected only to have my order corrected partially....no no no I dont think so. Although the food is good, this place does not know how to properly rectify a situation when they are to blame. I'm not saying I wouldn't go there again but it might be a long while before I do. Shake my head.... read more

Like this location, because parking is easier, but especially love the food. I like to go for lunch or dinner so I can also get lunch and dinner menu items along with breakfast. Plus, the wait isn't as long. Sometimes there is no wait! Love the salads. I like to add cajun ahi or chicken to it. Yum! And if you're not a salad person, go for the adobo fried rice!! So ONO! For dessert, I always aim for the waffle with ice cream. My favorite, for sure! read more

This place is good! Line moves fast, a lil different way to order but I can't wait to go back.

My rating is overall because the staff are not that friendly.. The appear to be bored and it seems to have no diversity as far as employees go.. The food is tasty but very pricy for a simple breakfast.. I Had the bacon spinach cheese omelet( highly recommended) and it seemed they grilled the veg & meat and just laid some mixed egg on it .. No fold in the omelet as they should be.. The bacon was not the best bacon -- hard and fatty and it was bacon ends.. That was not worth the 10.75 .. No free refills on drinks unlike most restaurants do with soda or ice tea.. The pancakes were yummy and syrup was nice a different taste with the coconut but yummy .. My children omelets very greasy .. A cheesy omelet should not be that greasy.. For someplace that has great reviews voted in by Zagat and other best in Hawaii I would assume it would have been much better.. To have paid the amount for five people just for breakfast is outrageous.. Waitstaff more Smiles and look interested in your customers .. Enjoy your job .. People seem to really enjoy this place and the ambience is welcoming .. But I'm not sure we will go Back to this place .. That wants highest profit for not so great food ... read more

Finally made my first visit for breakfast on 6/3/17 & was notified that it would be a 20 minute wait. We said ok that was fine. Checked in at 9:20am & found a seat outside & waited. After awhile I noticed people who came after us were being seated before us. I went in to inquire about my table & by then it was 10:00am. The host who took my name notified me that he called my name at 9:32am. I said what??? That's not possible!! I was sitting in the door & never heard you call me. So he immediately seated us. I asked him how did you pronounce my name & it sounded WAY off & nothing like what it was. I was so frustrated!!! On top of that he was soft spoken so obviously he should not be in that job. Besides not pronouncing the name & talking too soft it was just a bad experience. He did not even apologize. Because of him I will never eat there again. The positive note is we had a very nice waiter & the food was good especially the coconut syrup on the pancakes. Needless to say because of him we were late for an appointment. read more

We went pretty much first thing on a Monday morning, so there was no line or wait. I don't like the idea of waiting in a long line for food when I'm already hungry and close to hangry! Looked like the Ala Moana Hotel breakfast place Plantation Cafe is not that good or even adequate based on yelp reviews and photos. So it was worth the trek all across the mall for some better breakfast food. Husband and I split a savory dish, a vegetarian omelet, which was delicious - even my husband liked it - one of the better omelets I've had. Pleasantly surprised I could pick the type of cheese (3 choices). I liked the accompanying cucumber-based salsa, which per the menu description is more refreshing than spicy hot. The macadamia nut waffle was also delicious - crisp and golden indeed. Wait service was quick and good. At this time the newest location at Piikoi and Kona - outside of Waikiki - with some attached parking (more if you count the adjacent Ala Moana Shopping Center). We'll be back! read more
