Service was incredible - if anything I'd only argue it was maybe slightly TOO fast at first! Our waitress, Heart, was very attentive and friendly. She even gave us some things to check out on the north shore! The feel of the restaurant is honestly great. We had a table next to the balcony, and it was a very nice place to sit for a few hours. It can get a bit warm, but that's just Hawai'i with open air seating for you! The inside was well made, much better than what was previously there before Earl's. The food was very solid. I wouldn't go here expecting fine dining or meals that are to die for, then you will be very happy with what you get! It's not the most expensive food, so you get what you expect. It's a great experience overall though, and we're happy with what we got. I wouldn't be surprised if Earl's is added as a dinner to our annual trip from now on! Highly recommend giving it a try and seeing if it's your vibe.

The ambiance is great and the staff is super friendly. Oh and the beers are 18 oz pours. Now the not so good. Everything is SALTY. Holy crap SALTY. Swollen ankles salty. Apps. Chips salty with the dip. Food, garnishes salty, seasoning extra salty. Almost inedible salty. Anything that has meat and is cooked will be SALTY!!! Sucks because the staff is super cool. If you don't want salty, order something with pasta. Or extra weird, sushi(would never think this place would serve sushi). One more this to pour salt on the wound, there is no AC unless you need to go to the restroom

Made a reservation online two days before coming. So I would suggest making a reservation for this restaurant. Upon being seated, our server Rachel made my party aware of any specials, suggested cocktails that were fan favorites, and checked with our table often. I ended up ordering Steak+Truffle Tortellini, and paired a Strawberry Margarita cocktail with my meal. Everything was so good. The steak was so tender and had a great flavor. The atmosphere was very nice in Earl's. We were celebrating a birthday so we came with a theme color and it went well with the esthetic setting of this place. Our server was aware of the birthday also, so she made sure it was acknowledged before our departure. The entire experience was 10/10 and would highly recommend stopping into Earl's and catching all the vibes.

Wow!! Did not expect to have this quality on the busy Waikiki shopping street. This was a perfect way to end our visit. There is an ABC store right next door to do your last minute gift shopping for family and friends. We parked in the parking garage a block down and it was convenient to be able to walk around. We ordered the guacamole for an appetizer and it was so smooth and delicious!! We also got the poke bowl and the California roll. My daughter was not happy about the spicy level of the roll, but I thought it was delicious. I would love more of a selection for the keikis. Everywhere we went had a great kids (Keiki) menu which was lovely, but we didn't see one at Earls. All of the food was delicious, our servers were attentive at the bar, and the ambiance was top tier!! We will be coming back once they have a kids menu.

The burgers here is a must try. They have very different special flavors and drinks too. Staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable about their food and menu. Great atmosphere. This place is good for gathering too. Only thing is parking. But again it's Waikīkī

I chose Earl's for my birthday dinner and it was the best choice ever! Our server was amazing, attentive, friendly, and had fantastic recommendations. Our drinks and appetizers came out quickly and in a timely manner compared to our main courses. The mocktail was delicious and worth the money. The steak was cooked to perfection along with the sides. No salt was needed. Let's move on to the atmosphere, one word - immaculate. The vibes were there. It was a perfect evening, and I will not only return, but highly recommend this place to anyone who asks.

I absolutely love me a good happy hour, this one started at 10pm. We did not have a reservation and the wait was estimated to be 30 minutes but we only waited about 15. It is such a vibe inside, so romantic and sexy. It's great for a date night or a girls night out. My bf and I each got drinks, peach rebull vodka and the strawberry lemon drop. We ordered the carne tacos and the petite steak and frites! We also ordered the chicken skewers with pickles, but they unfortunately did not come until after our meal was finished. They did give us a cute little cake for my bf birthday, which was very nice! I will be back at Earl's one I'm back in Hawaii.

The bar is exceptional and so are the bartenders. They are so nice and mix up the best drinks. I had a couple of appetizers and they were delicious.

Came out to Earl for my friend's birthday and it was a nice experience! The atmosphere is nice and service was pretty great too. We were seated in the partially outdoor area, which was really nice, but it started to drizzle and they moved us indoors before we even had to ask. We got plates to share and everything was pretty good! I especially liked the crispy rice with spicy ahi and the tortellini with steak dishes. The fries were also addictive. The bibimbap was okay but I probably wouldn't get it again. Overall it was a really pleasant experience and I would come back again!

Really nice ambiance, great music, and delicious food! The service was excellent, and they have a full bar with plenty of options. This place is always busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. It's located on a lively street with lots to see and do, and it's within walking distance of many other places, which makes it perfect for grabbing dinner and then walking around afterward. Overall, a really nice spot for a night out!

Okay, the hype is real. The food was sooo good like what people were saying. I recommend doing a reservation or you'll be waiting. We got seated right away & was served quickly. Our waiter was very kind and because we were celebrating our anniversary, there was a cute personalized anniversary card. Thank you! We ordered the truffle fries, steak + sushi (ahi w/ crispy rice), aburi sushi, and barria tacos and just did pupu style. Everything was 10/10. The truffle fries & steak + sushi combo was my fave. The dessert was also great!! We got the cheesecake brûlée. The food came at a reasonable time. Their happy hour menu looks good too so I will definitely come back to try it out. Parking may be a issue but we parked at international market place & walked there. However, they do not validate so you have to purchase something $25+ at IMP.

Check out the ambience going into the restaurant!

My soon-to-be hubby and I had such a great time at Earls! It was my first time visiting Hawaii and our first time trying Earls, and they exceeded our expectations!! The ambiance was beautiful and lively, and since we went during happy hour, we were serenaded by live Hawaiian music, such a special touch! I ordered the Crispy Chili Tofu as my appetizer and the Tuscan Seared Salmon as my main and they were both delicious and full of flavor! I also loved the Strawberry Cosmopolitan with tequila, trust me it's a game changer! I also ordered the Strawberry Hibiscus Mule which was a little too ginger-forward for my taste, but adding extra strawberry purée made it much better. Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we had a great experience. Between the food, service, ambiance, and live music, this was such a memorable date night. Highly recommend Earls for your next Hawaiian dining experience! !

Food was soo good! Definitely more expensive but it is a gem in Waikīkī. Pasta was delicious. Menu is so big and so many options to choose from. Vegetarian friendly as well. Although wouldn't recommend for non-gluten eating people, as they said "there's no guarantee for no cross-contamination". Which is a little crazy different... But luckily for me I don't care ahahah. But just fair warning for others who might have serious issues with gluten.

    Perfecto!

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

The server didn't come for about 10 minutes where I asked to be moved. I was moved to a covered table and we got a new server where we promptly ordered. My sons kids meal came out and his tenders were actually delicious as well as the fries . My food took over 20 minutes to arrive only after I made eye contact with my server and he rushed to the back to grab my food, I'm guessing he had forgotten about it because my short rib arrived cold. Like literally cold to the touch. The mashed potatoes were warm and those were great as well as the veggies . I didn't complain because nobody ever came back to check us on or offer a refill or anything . To pay was a hassle also as they only had 1 server helping and he was tied up with a big table for over 20 minutes that was arguing how to split up a bill. I eventually flagged down a bartender and she went and grabbed my original server from the back. The whole night things kept going wrong . I did have a mai tai earlier in the day from their happy hour which was great but dinner is a no-go for me here now.

That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Fix that problem and this place would rock.

Apparently you're normally supposed to put a coin in to open the secret door, but it's broken right now, so the whole vending machine just swings right open. Slightly less secret, but still very cool. Inside is where this place really shines. Moody lighting, a giant orange tree in the middle of the room, Japanese hip hop playing in the background (I want to steal this entire playlist), and extremely cool and friendly servers and bartenders. I've been to a few other attempted "speakeasies" in Honolulu, but most are basically just dark bars with a fun door or code word. Wild Orange actually has the VIBES to make the whole concept work. Definitely worth coming just to hang out and chill. They have a full bar and an extensive specialty cocktail menu. Tried the Purple Dragon, made with ube liqueur and coconut cream. Very sweet--a little TOO sweet for my taste--but tasty and pretty. Probably should have listened to the menu and kept it as a shot, but I wanted something I could sip on for a while and chill. The Umeshu Highball was also very pretty and tasty. My friend who works as a sake distributor was impressed with their selection of good sake, so of course we had to order a bottle. Our server brought it out in an ice bucket, kept it off to the side, and completely served it for us throughout. Very classy. The food menu is fun and creative, but unfortunately not really for me because it's entirely vegan. Most times, but ESPECIALLY when I'm drinking, I want MEAT. Tried the Wild Musubi, a vegan Spam musubi. I'm not actually sure what the "meat" was. Possibly fried tofu? Whatever it was, it was definitely a passable alternative, but would have been 100x better if it were just plain old Spam. It also falls victim to what I find is a common problem with vegan attempts at Japanese food: anything teriyaki ends up being way too treacly sweet without actual meat or seafood to ground it in reality. Also tried the Char Siu Tofu Bao, fried tofu in a red Chinese-style char siu sauce on fluffy white buns. Again, fun and certainly not bad, but these would be 1000x better with actual pork. If Wild Orange had this exact same creative food menu but carnivore edition, this place would probably be 7/5 stars for me. That being said, I know being vegan will actually be a huge draw for some people, and I appreciate that the food is creative rather than just the usual sad vegan afterthoughts. Parking is pretty easy by Honolulu standards. It's inside Hawaiian Brian's, so there's a large shared parking lot. That being said, you might still have trouble finding a spot during peak gym hours since you're competing with all the 24 Hour Fitness customers. All in all, I LOVE this place. Definitely a fun stop--first, middle, only, or nightcap--on a chill night out. Will absolutely be adding Wild Orange into the rotation of places to bring out-of-town guests when I want to impress them with something cool and different. The vegan menu probably means it'll be a couple-times-a-year place for me rather than a regular haunt. But for drinks, service, atmosphere, and pure VIBES? 20/10.
