Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast with Strawberries

This is the second location we tried and it's just as impressive as the location in Waikiki. The service was quick, helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean and has significantly more seating and space than the Waikiki location. But most importantly, the food was delightfully delicious with generous portions for the whole family. We love their food presentation; specifically when there is fruit involved in the dish. Their Açaí bowls are little rainbows of fresh, sweet, color. And their whipped cream was also fresh, rich and velvety. All of it was YUMMY!

Haven't been here in years and wanted to have a quick breakfast. It wasn't busy and I was seated immediately. I placed my order and the wait wasn't very long. I ordered the ENT Pineapple-Honey Chicken n Waffles. It was alright. I would've preferred to have a jar of syrup at the table because the syrup given on the plate wasn't enough. Upon receiving the check, I was surprised that they included Kamaaina/Military discount at 7am-12pm and that there was a 3% kitchen service charge. Inside was clean and service was good. Overall, it was an alright experience. I ate and was full.

Pretty busy on a rainy Friday morning, but we were seated right away. Service was perfect and very attentive. We ate with a toddler and they sate us in a comfortable booth in the corner. Ordered the Portuguese Omelette (sausage, spinach, cheese and onions) the onions were raw and sliced. Wish they were cooked/grilled and diced or at least smaller. Got the omelette with a short stack; other options were rice or seasoned potatoes. I thought a short stack was 2 pancakes, but we got 3! Yum ! Bathrooms were clean and parking is plentiful. Lots of Aloha spirit, tourists and locals enjoy this spot.

IMO - best tasting loco moco out there! It's all in the gravy. potatoes are nice and crispy too with omelets. The kids had pancakes and mopped them all up, so they must've been good too.

Good timing to get here at 11:30am because I didn't have to wait in line and my niece was on her way. Drank coffee until she arrived (the staff was amazing and entertaining). When my niece arrived we ordered. I had corned beef hash and scrambled eggs and my niece had the minced vegan patty with home fried potatoes. Eggs 'n Things still makes da best breakfasts.

On our Hawaii trip we stopped at one of the eggs n things locations and we were so happy we did! The portions were very generous and the food was made to perfection. Definitely try the adobo fried rice when you visit. The restaurant was very clean and our servers were welcoming and attentive to our needs!

I was back in Hawaii, and remembering the great meal I had here last time, I decided to come back. I got here a few minutes after seven on a Wednesday morning, and it was not busy at all..... as always, the place is bright and clean, and everybody was very friendly... This time, I decided to go for the Kal-bi short rib, with eggs and rice. The food came quick, and once again, it was amazing. The rib was tender, marinated very well, and absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly done, as was the generous portion of rice. It also came with a side order of kimchi. I almost asked him to leave it off, as I normally don't care for kimchi, because every time I've had it, it was very spicy. My server told me that this kimchi was not spicy, I decided to try it, and I am glad I did. It was absolutely delicious, tender, and it had just the tiniest hint of spice. Just enough that I barely noticed it. It didn't look like a big plate of food when he brought it, but it was a very generous portion. I did not leave hungry. As always, the coffee was also very good, and they kept my cup full. Prices are just a tiny bit on the higher end, but extremely reasonable for what you get. There is a small up charge if you pay with credit/debit, but they clearly make that known when you check out. Thank you again for a great meal,

Ordered a loco moco to be delivered and the patty was fully undercooked. Didn't realize until after a few bites. Hopefully I don't get sick!

Very busy location with good food and plenty of seating. I had the ribeye steak & eggs with a short stack of pancakes. Coconut syrup was a great local taste on top of my pancakes. Coffee was good, service very friendly and decent based on how busy they were. I wanted a refill on my coffee and had to go to counter to make request, not knowing my waiter was aware and was just waiting on a fresh pot. Great service but could have been better if communicated more verbally. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 due to the Aloha spirit and local vibes. Definitely will be back again!

Idk why I've never yelped this place but this was maybe my 4th of 5th visit to Eggs 'n Things. I usually bring family or friends here who visit us from the mainland but today's visit was just my husband and I. We were looking for someplace to eat that would kill time while we waiting for Ala Moana to open and decided on Eggs 'n Things. Tons of free parking and they offer waitlist service via yelp app. Party of 2 and zero wait :) Provided with water and drink order taken immediately upon being seated. Their menu is extensive and they offer typical breakfast items (i.e., pancakes, waffles, omelette) plus local favorites (i.e., fried rice, loco moco). My husband and I decided to share and chose the breakfast meat n eggs which comes with 2 eggs and your choice of spam, Portuguese sausage, chicken apple sausage, pork links, bacon, ham, turkey bacon, corned beef hash, or vegan patty plus a starch which could be rice, breakfast hash, or short stack of buttermilk pancakes. We chose Portuguese sausage with rice and two over easy eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly. 4 large slices of Portuguese sausage were delicious with a hint of heat/spiciness and that true smokey portuguese sausage flavor. Rice seemed dry like they didn't add enough water in the rice pot! We also decided on the 3 strawberry crepes. Ok, so here's where the WTF begins. 3 large crepes served rolled and topped with thin slices of strawberries then sprinkled with powdered sugar. Looks pleasant buttttt that's about it. The crepes were like pancakes or thinner pancakes but thick crepes. We also tasted cinnamon so we're thinking they must add that to their crepe batter!? These weren't the typical French origin crepes that are thin, delicate, with a hint of sweetness that were used to. These were bad! We'd probably return but we would most def stay away from ordering crepes ever again!

French Toast with Bananas

Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were definitely shareable if you like or if you're hungry will fill you up! The servers were all nice and friendly. We had about 3 different workers helping us. There is indoor seating available to enjoy your breakfast with family and friends. Clean place located by Ala Moana Center. This is one of our go to for breakfast when in Honolulu.

Used to be my favorite breakfast spot! What happened, Eggs n things? The service went downhill! I don't feel the aloha when I walk through the doors anymore. More like angry auntie greeting you and telling you to wait outside rudely. The wait is brutal even when you get yourself on waitlist. Total wait time for us was over an hour and 20 min for our food. I also had to ask for a refill for my coffee- nobody came around! Such a bummer because I really loved this location. They had top notch service here but I guess it's hard to find good people nowadays.

I believe it's first come first serve. You put your name on the list if it's full. I normally go early to beat the breakfast rush if I plan to eat there on a weekend. Because covid restrictions remember seating is limited.

Everyone we visit this is the first place we go before checking into our stay! It's conveniently close to the airport and on the way to Waikiki. They're so flavorful with the perfect amount of fat and not dry at all. You must eat it with the raw onion on the side dipped in Hawaiian salt! Soooo so good My other favorite item is the butterfish collar. So buttery and crisp to perfection. Super juicy as well! Squad lau and Kaula pork is a must too. Can't go wrong with anything tbh. The service is attentive and friendly. They were constantly refilling our waters and asking if we're good. I ordered the butterfish collar and a large order of spare ribs with 4 scoops of rice. The total came out to about $85. I feel like I would have had a much better experience dining in. The food was good but everything was extremely oily and left me with that yucky feeling afterwards. For the price I also felt the portions were a little underwhelming. I'm glad I finally got to try it but I think dining in might make all the difference. One to check off the Oahu food bucket list!

Also, the people truly resonate the aloha spirit. However, this morning's visit was very disappointing. We brought our family from Guam to try this place and experience authentic Hawaiian cuisine. But at the very beginning of the visit it was already turned sour. It was packed and there were tons of people waiting outside; therefore, my parents who were elderly sat outside to wait for our table. The lobby was packed with people waiting-understandable coz the place is popular. As people get seated, the waiting area has more vacant seat and I wanted my parents to come in. However, the hostess raised her voice and said demandingly to shut the door. I told her I'm letting my parents in. She just kept on saying to shut the door. I repeated myself that I'm making my parents come in and wait inside rather than baking outside the entrance. She just kept on mumbling until my parents sat with me at the waiting area. I tried to explain to her that I was not trying to keep the door open, I was waiting for my parents to get in. They're old so they move slow. She did not apologize she just kept saying the door needs to be closed. THIS IS TRULY DISAPPOINTING AND DISRESPECTFUL! The aloha spirit was not there. In addition, the whole experience was so sour that my family did not enjoy the food. We did not finish, we packed the food but was not able to eat them. It went to the trash! I'm hoping that a better host can help bring back the ALOHA!

When Kapahulu first opened, I was worried it wouldn't live up to the quality food served at the Ala Moana location and become a tourist trap... but despite always having to wait a long time to be seated, Kapahulu was just as good with a more family friendly ambiance so I liked it even more. Many years later, Kapahulu is closed and they opened this new Beachwalk location. They're even deeper in Waikiki, favoring the tourist audience for this location. No bother for the most part: 1) You can park at the Bank of Hawaii building and bring your parking ticket to Side Street - they will validate two hours for you. 2) Navigating to and from the parking garage to Side Street is a minor learning curve if you've never parked at BoH before. Luckily, the host working offered very clear directions without us even asking. In fact, he offered to validate our parking ticket before we asked also. Still the same great service. 3) The prices have increased quite a bit since we last ate at Side Street. Market price for the sizzling boneless kalbi was a whopping $55 during lunch - whoa. A side bowl of rice (2-3 scoops max - just enough for two people) was $12! Did the furikake topping add on another $9 to the price tag? Lol. To be clear though, everything is served family style here - large portions. 4) They DO give a Kama'aina discount (yay!) but it is only 10% (hmmm). 5) The interior of the Beachwalk location is definitely more casual than Kapahulu. Open air vs A/C is cool. Folding chairs though - another hmm. BUT we happen to love casual so this was fine. Just wish the prices of the food matched the folding chair ambiance. On the bright side, this could be temporary - Beachwalk is so new, they didn't have their liquor license yet, so BYOB. 6) Despite the $55 sizzling boneless kalbi, $42 poke, $12 side white rice, and measly 10% Kama'aina discount... the food was AMAZING. Flavorful, generous, and hard to stop eating! Honestly, if you're going to open a spot in Hawaii and overcharge for your food, it better taste like this. 5+ stars for the food and the service. By the way, their "Halia" restaurant at Wai Kai in Ewa is good too. :)
