Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast with Strawberries

This is the second location we tried and it's just as impressive as the location in Waikiki. The service was quick, helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean and has significantly more seating and space than the Waikiki location. But most importantly, the food was delightfully delicious with generous portions for the whole family. We love their food presentation; specifically when there is fruit involved in the dish. Their Açaí bowls are little rainbows of fresh, sweet, color. And their whipped cream was also fresh, rich and velvety. All of it was YUMMY!

Haven't been here in years and wanted to have a quick breakfast. It wasn't busy and I was seated immediately. I placed my order and the wait wasn't very long. I ordered the ENT Pineapple-Honey Chicken n Waffles. It was alright. I would've preferred to have a jar of syrup at the table because the syrup given on the plate wasn't enough. Upon receiving the check, I was surprised that they included Kamaaina/Military discount at 7am-12pm and that there was a 3% kitchen service charge. Inside was clean and service was good. Overall, it was an alright experience. I ate and was full.

Pretty busy on a rainy Friday morning, but we were seated right away. Service was perfect and very attentive. We ate with a toddler and they sate us in a comfortable booth in the corner. Ordered the Portuguese Omelette (sausage, spinach, cheese and onions) the onions were raw and sliced. Wish they were cooked/grilled and diced or at least smaller. Got the omelette with a short stack; other options were rice or seasoned potatoes. I thought a short stack was 2 pancakes, but we got 3! Yum ! Bathrooms were clean and parking is plentiful. Lots of Aloha spirit, tourists and locals enjoy this spot.

IMO - best tasting loco moco out there! It's all in the gravy. potatoes are nice and crispy too with omelets. The kids had pancakes and mopped them all up, so they must've been good too.

Good timing to get here at 11:30am because I didn't have to wait in line and my niece was on her way. Drank coffee until she arrived (the staff was amazing and entertaining). When my niece arrived we ordered. I had corned beef hash and scrambled eggs and my niece had the minced vegan patty with home fried potatoes. Eggs 'n Things still makes da best breakfasts.

On our Hawaii trip we stopped at one of the eggs n things locations and we were so happy we did! The portions were very generous and the food was made to perfection. Definitely try the adobo fried rice when you visit. The restaurant was very clean and our servers were welcoming and attentive to our needs!

I was back in Hawaii, and remembering the great meal I had here last time, I decided to come back. I got here a few minutes after seven on a Wednesday morning, and it was not busy at all..... as always, the place is bright and clean, and everybody was very friendly... This time, I decided to go for the Kal-bi short rib, with eggs and rice. The food came quick, and once again, it was amazing. The rib was tender, marinated very well, and absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly done, as was the generous portion of rice. It also came with a side order of kimchi. I almost asked him to leave it off, as I normally don't care for kimchi, because every time I've had it, it was very spicy. My server told me that this kimchi was not spicy, I decided to try it, and I am glad I did. It was absolutely delicious, tender, and it had just the tiniest hint of spice. Just enough that I barely noticed it. It didn't look like a big plate of food when he brought it, but it was a very generous portion. I did not leave hungry. As always, the coffee was also very good, and they kept my cup full. Prices are just a tiny bit on the higher end, but extremely reasonable for what you get. There is a small up charge if you pay with credit/debit, but they clearly make that known when you check out. Thank you again for a great meal,

Ordered a loco moco to be delivered and the patty was fully undercooked. Didn't realize until after a few bites. Hopefully I don't get sick!

Very busy location with good food and plenty of seating. I had the ribeye steak & eggs with a short stack of pancakes. Coconut syrup was a great local taste on top of my pancakes. Coffee was good, service very friendly and decent based on how busy they were. I wanted a refill on my coffee and had to go to counter to make request, not knowing my waiter was aware and was just waiting on a fresh pot. Great service but could have been better if communicated more verbally. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 due to the Aloha spirit and local vibes. Definitely will be back again!

Idk why I've never yelped this place but this was maybe my 4th of 5th visit to Eggs 'n Things. I usually bring family or friends here who visit us from the mainland but today's visit was just my husband and I. We were looking for someplace to eat that would kill time while we waiting for Ala Moana to open and decided on Eggs 'n Things. Tons of free parking and they offer waitlist service via yelp app. Party of 2 and zero wait :) Provided with water and drink order taken immediately upon being seated. Their menu is extensive and they offer typical breakfast items (i.e., pancakes, waffles, omelette) plus local favorites (i.e., fried rice, loco moco). My husband and I decided to share and chose the breakfast meat n eggs which comes with 2 eggs and your choice of spam, Portuguese sausage, chicken apple sausage, pork links, bacon, ham, turkey bacon, corned beef hash, or vegan patty plus a starch which could be rice, breakfast hash, or short stack of buttermilk pancakes. We chose Portuguese sausage with rice and two over easy eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly. 4 large slices of Portuguese sausage were delicious with a hint of heat/spiciness and that true smokey portuguese sausage flavor. Rice seemed dry like they didn't add enough water in the rice pot! We also decided on the 3 strawberry crepes. Ok, so here's where the WTF begins. 3 large crepes served rolled and topped with thin slices of strawberries then sprinkled with powdered sugar. Looks pleasant buttttt that's about it. The crepes were like pancakes or thinner pancakes but thick crepes. We also tasted cinnamon so we're thinking they must add that to their crepe batter!? These weren't the typical French origin crepes that are thin, delicate, with a hint of sweetness that were used to. These were bad! We'd probably return but we would most def stay away from ordering crepes ever again!

Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were definitely shareable if you like or if you're hungry will fill you up! The servers were all nice and friendly. We had about 3 different workers helping us. There is indoor seating available to enjoy your breakfast with family and friends. Clean place located by Ala Moana Center. This is one of our go to for breakfast when in Honolulu.

Side of bacon! Thick slices!

Used to be my favorite breakfast spot! What happened, Eggs n things? The service went downhill! I don't feel the aloha when I walk through the doors anymore. More like angry auntie greeting you and telling you to wait outside rudely. The wait is brutal even when you get yourself on waitlist. Total wait time for us was over an hour and 20 min for our food. I also had to ask for a refill for my coffee- nobody came around! Such a bummer because I really loved this location. They had top notch service here but I guess it's hard to find good people nowadays.

Nico's Pier 38 is a little off the beaten tourist path, but absolutely worth finding. This particular visit was made even more memorable by the occasion that brought us here! The Details: If you're looking for some of the freshest seafood on Oahu, Nico's Pier 38 deserves a spot on your list! Located along Honolulu's commercial fishing piers, directly across the street from Fresh Island Fish Co., where freshly caught island fish are brought in from the boats, Nico's has a unique advantage when it comes to seafood freshness! The menu offers a wonderful variety of fresh fish, local favorites, appetizers, and daily specials. There's also a fish market area featuring an impressive assortment of freshly prepared poke that isn't necessarily listed on the regular restaurant menu. You can purchase your poke there and enjoy it in the restaurant or at the bar. Definitely worth checking out! Nico's gained additional fame after being featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and it's easy to understand why! What I particularly enjoy about this establishment is its location and atmosphere. You're not sitting in some polished Waikiki tourist restaurant overlooking a manufactured tropical paradise. You're right down on Honolulu's working waterfront, surrounded by the commercial fishing industry that helps supply the island with fresh seafood. There's something wonderfully authentic about that! The restaurant itself has a lively, casual island atmosphere with plenty of seating, a terrific bar, and an impressive selection of beers, wines, and tropical cocktails. Prices are quite reasonable, particularly considering the quality and freshness of the seafood. Service has always been another highlight. The staff are friendly, attentive, and full of personality. Our servers kept our drinks topped off, checked on us regularly, and shared plenty of smiles, laughs, and playful banter throughout the evening. Exactly the kind of relaxed hospitality that makes dining in Hawaii so enjoyable! But tonight was about much more than food and drinks. We came to Nico's to celebrate and bid farewell to a longtime friend, Nelson, whom I first met many years ago aboard the USS Essex. At the time, Nelson was a Navy helicopter aircrewman, and I was serving as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician. We struck up a conversation about our respective Navy careers, and I shared stories about my earlier years as a Navy Deep Sea Diver before transitioning into EOD. Little did I know that conversation would help change the direction of his career! Nelson subsequently applied for Navy Dive School, successfully completed the training, and went on to spend the remainder of his distinguished Navy career as a Deep Sea Diver. Fast-forward all these years, and my friend is now retiring as a Master Chief and Master Diver! How cool is that?! I'm incredibly proud of Nelson, his accomplishments, and his many years of dedicated service to our country. It's pretty special to look back on a conversation between two young sailors and realize how life's unexpected encounters can help shape someone's future. And what better place to celebrate that friendship and an extraordinary Navy career than sharing some great food, cold drinks, and sea stories along Honolulu's working waterfront? Nico's Pier 38 provided the perfect setting for a memorable evening! Whether you're a visitor looking to escape the Waikiki crowds or a local craving fresh seafood and a laid-back waterfront atmosphere, Nico's is absolutely worth a visit. Come for the fresh fish, stay for the atmosphere, and don't be surprised if you leave with a few new friends and stories of your own! Mahalo, Nico's Pier 38, for helping make a very special evening even more memorable! And fair winds and following seas to my friend Nelson. Bravo Zulu, Master Chief!

Restaurant 604: Great Food, Fantastic Service, and a Million-Dollar Pearl Harbor View!…read more BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): Fantastic island-style food, generous portions, reasonable prices, outstanding service, and one of the most unique waterfront dining locations on Oahu! Whether you're stopping in for a business lunch, enjoying cocktails at sunset, or celebrating with friends, Restaurant 604 delivers a wonderful experience. Definitely worth the drive! The Details: Located just outside Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Restaurant 604 occupies the second floor of a waterfront building overlooking Rainbow Marina and the historic waters of Pearl Harbor. It's a terrific location that combines delicious local food, a relaxed island atmosphere, and beautiful marina views! I suspect most military personnel stationed in the area, along with plenty of locals, are already familiar with this little gem. It's a popular gathering spot for everything from casual lunches to military hail and farewell celebrations. And for good reason! Today, I suggested Restaurant 604 for a business lunch with several teammates and colleagues. Having enjoyed this establishment on numerous previous occasions, I knew it would be an excellent choice. I'm happy to report that everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves! For my lunch, I couldn't resist ordering one of my all-time Hawaiian favorites, Kalua Pig with rice and macaroni salad! The serving was enormous, with a generous mound of delicious shredded pork topped with green onions, accompanied by two scoops of rice and a hearty helping of creamy mac salad. Now THAT'S what I call an epic island plate lunch! My colleagues explored other parts of the menu, ordering dishes including teriyaki salmon, chicken katsu, and fish tacos with avocado and jalapeños. Everyone seemed equally pleased with their selections. The portions here are substantial, the food is delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the location! Another highlight of today's visit was our wonderful waitress, Brittany! She was absolutely phenomenal! Friendly, attentive, personable, and genuinely interested in making sure our entire group had an enjoyable experience. Great service can elevate an already excellent meal, and Brittany certainly accomplished that today! Along with other huge tables. Seriously she did a phenomenal job juggling a ton of customers! Since this was a business lunch, we skipped the cocktails. However, I can personally attest that Restaurant 604 also has a terrific bar! Over the years, I've spent many enjoyable evenings here sipping cocktails, exchanging stories and friendly banter, and watching the sun slowly settle over Pearl Harbor. There's something special about enjoying a cold drink while overlooking the sailboats and marina with the Hawaiian trade winds drifting through. The open-air dining area, nautical decor, surfboards suspended overhead, and panoramic waterfront views give this place a distinctive island personality. It's casual, comfortable, and welcoming, exactly what you want from a great Hawaiian waterfront restaurant. And here's a fun little bit of trivia: Restaurant 604 has even welcomed the legendary Jimmy Buffett over the years! I have a nice picture of him with my friend Bryant. Somehow, that seems entirely appropriate for a place where the waterfront atmosphere practically begs you to kick back with a tropical cocktail. Rest in peace, Jimmy! Fins up! Final Thoughts: Restaurant 604 is much more than just another place to grab a bite. It's a wonderful gathering spot where great food, friendly people, military camaraderie, and beautiful Hawaiian scenery all come together. Whether you're stationed at Pearl Harbor, visiting the nearby historic attractions, or simply looking for a great meal away from the Waikiki crowds, I highly recommend stopping by. Come hungry, bring some friends, and if you have the time, stick around for sunset. The food will fill your belly, the service will lift your spirits, and the view just might convince you to stay for another round! Aloha!
