Awful!!!! Ordered ahead of 3 other tables and still did not get food, we had to ask the waiter how much longer! Of course he came out right after that and drops off the food! What made it even worse was my order was wrong!!! Walked out and will never eat here again!!! You have to wait for tables because all the servers and bussers are just standing around! Michael S - so how do you explain the people who sat down next to us & ordered after us but received their food first, which made it even worse they ordered the same dish as we did! Also, behind us a big group which sat down after us received their order before us too? As for the staff standing around I saw it with my own eyes!!! Staff standing behind the half wall in front of the entrance to the swinging doors to the kitchen? Sad part is the waiter had no remorse or didn't even care! If you provide good service you would know the order you put your orders in and apologize or acknowledge that your food will be coming out shortly! read more

Like the atmosphere of the one on Saratoga better. The surf board counter is cool though. Had omelet and toast. Just average. I would come back. But i wouldn't go out of my way either. read more

Thought this was going to be a great place to get breakfast but we felt so rushed because they ask you to order before you enter and the stuff we ordered was not good. I ordered a waffle and it was so over cooked and had so much whipped cream it was nasty. And the pancakes weren't that good either. So much whipped cream! And the fruit was not fresh.. The only thing I liked was the coconut syrup.. read more

Food isn't great. My boyfriend and I ordered delivery via aloha2go. Aloha2go arrived within 30 minutes which was great, however, the food wasn't so great. The food was pretty warm but not very appetizing. I ordered eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The potions were small and the potatoes had a funny, weird taste to it. My boyfriend ordered fried rice with eggs. The portion was great but the taste of the fried rice were bland which was very disappointing due to the cost of $12. It's better to eat there than having it delivered. Big difference! read more

I ordered the Hawaiian bread French toast and it was tasteless. It was also expensive $11.55

I like going here until they showed me how they treat take out orders. Your wait time for take-out orders is quite disturbing. It moves like pond water and to make it worst they gave my order to someone else. And yes, I have to wait...again. read more

Came in at dinner time. Absolutely no parking, so we tried to go in with 3 out of 4 people. The place is practically empty there were about maybe 4 tables with people. We requested to be seated and the skinny guy with glasses, said we HAD to wait for the fourth person to come. I told him he was looking for parking, the place was empty, and it always takes forever to be served there in the first place. We wanted to get a jump on our order, but he refused to seat is without the fourth person. There were MANY open tables... SHM I was so pissed off, we just walked out read more

This place is super popular, busy and so there's a long line. The pancakes and waffles are super good. Careful with the whip cream though, they really stack that high. The coconut syrup is delicious!!!!! Definitely a must try!!! I tried the Hawaiian loco moco, which they add a burger patty. That 's the difference from the regular one. The patty tasted fatty to me, but I'm also picky with ground beef. My boyfriend loves it though so just depends on person. MUST ORDER THE CAJUN AHI AND eggs. Absolutely delicious!!! read more

I had the fresh Island ahi steak n eggs. Cajun style w a side of wasabi aioli. Down home deliciousness all around the table. My friends boast about the loco moco and the island fried rice. In getting hungry writing this review. Everything was splendid. Mahalo. read more

I don't know why this place isn't at least 4 stars! Their pancakes are second only to my grandma's sourdough pancakes! We liked it so much, we went back for dinner one night! I went here my last trip to Honolulu and sat at the counter because they are so busy. We had a good meal. This time, I decided to try a short stack...Sweet Hawaiian God of Pancakes, they were amazing! They have 3 syrups, but I am a purist, so I stick with a lot of butter and a drizzel of maple. They were even good leftover for breakfast the next day! Get there early, or have breakfast for dinner! read more

I had been a customer since 1977 at the original Eggs & Things on Ena Road and later on Kalakaua. We ate at the new Waikiki location a few years ago & was very underwhelmed. Today, I had the mushroom omelet. The eggs were cooked in so much oil at such a high temperature. There is no way we were served three (3) large eggs either. Maybe 3 small eggs that tasted like they were laid by a rubber chicken! The fresh mushrooms were good. It would not have been possible to eat the rubber eggs soaked in oil if it wasn't for the tiny bowl of salsa or whatever it was. Charging $4 & $5 for a glass of orange juice that is out of a 1 gallon container is insane! The akamai atmosphere is a thing of the past & the food did not resemble anything like the Original Eggs & Things we have so many fond memories of. Employees standing around laughing & giggling without a clue to what good customer service is about is an insult to the original husband & wife owners. They gave their heart & soul to make their restaurant an excellent worldwide reputation for great food & service for 30 years. What Kamaina Discount? read more

This is the most over priced place I have ever seen in my life, food is average service is just as average. Pancakes were dry and bacon half cooked. First and last time here. read more

Wasn't a big fan of this place. You pay on your way in, get plastic cutlery and plates for what is certainly not a cheap breakfast, and the eggs were undercooked. The staff seemed friendly though. read more

This is a awful place the wait is terrible its cramped and you will have horrible service and its cramped. I highly don't recommend this place. But if you happen to come here make sure you bring your whole party or you will be kicked out of the line... read more

Decided to give it a try. Figured, been there long enough so won't be as crowded. Got there near 8:00am. We were seated right away; which is always a good thing. We waited, and waited and waited. NO one came to ask if we wanted coffee. The table next to us had one girl, who should be home/bed because she was coughing and gagging. Since she did not want to make her friends sick, she coughed towards our table. Meanwhile, the waiter was busy texting on his phone. As Willie say on Restaurant Stakeout; "that is a RED FLAG". We left after 10 minutes of sitting there. Then again, not like they need the customers, there was a line when we left. The prices seem very expensive; $11.00 for waffles? We ended at Zippy's. Good standby; and their Waffles with Chicken; just $9.00. And we were served quickly. read more

We came in for breakfast and got the eggs Benedict and French toast special. I did think the French toast was a little too sweet, it was three slices of toast topped with bananas, chocolate chips and covered in whipped cream. It was a little too much for me and I enjoy my sugar. The service was quick and friendly. read more

We went here specifically to try the loco moco. We were not disappointed. The pancakes were awesome too. Very friendly wait and greeting staff. If ever back in Waikiki will definitely return. read more

Eh Brah... long long time ago this used to be the best place for unique ono breakfast scrambles, omelets, and tasty pancakes. Expansion and commercialism has taken out the "aloha" in many of the dishes. They now have 2 locations..... both which cannot hold a tiki torch to the original! They serve all da Hawaiin kine favorites like Portuguese sausage eggs and rice, fried Ahi, and of course the #1 seller Spam!! My Portuguese sausage omelette was flat not fluffy with all the sausage clumped up in one area. The service was good , but it was a bit chaotic inside. I think they just opened up this location. Eh Bruddha pancakes are still the winner here, with many choices of fruit and the "Hawaiin kine" syrups. If you have not tried Hawaiian breakfast here you should, but I am very sad to say that I have lost hope that they will return to their old glory days.... read more

Came here for breakfast early in the morning. I waited a bit before getting attention from a server, even though the place was pretty empty. I was going to order the crab cakes benedict until the waiter told me it was made with 1/2 crab, 1/2 imitation crab. I ordered the Florentine benedict instead. What I really liked about the Florentine benedict was that they used a good amount of sautéed spinach and sautéed fresh mushroom. What I did not like was that they buttered the English muffin (did not go well with the flavor) and the hollandaise sauce was very bland! Overall the benedict lacked flavor and required a lot of salt/pepper assistance. They need to ditch the butter on the muffins (it tasted like A LOT) and make better hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were ok. Totally tasted frozen. And they don't allow you to substitute fried rice for the potatoes. In addition, it was expensive. I recommend Waffles n Things over this place if you want Florentine benedict. The hollandaise is tastier, there's no weird buttery taste, and you can substitute fried rice for potatoes. Plus, it's $5 cheaper. read more

Eggs 'n Things Ala Moana - Florentine benedict. Could use improvement. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

I had the Crab Cake Benedict: 2 Hawaiian muffins topped with 2 Crab Cakes, 2 poached Island fresh eggs, Hollandaise sauce, and 3 buttermilk pancakes along with an Iced Cappuccino. The crab cakes were thin, mushy, tasted like anything but crab, and were obviously frozen. The pancakes were very heavy and didn't taste that good. The iced cappuccino was very good. I ordered the Strawberry crepes to go but haven't tried them yet. After all the hoopla I'd heard from other folks, I thought it would be a great dining experience --- wrong! My rule is to give every place at least two tries before completely condemning it, so this is the first try. read more

Went here for dinner. Wanted to check it out since they just recently opened. Our server Eddie was really on it. He was very friendly and pleasant. The managers Nolan and Robby were also on it. Ordered one of the daily specials. The french toast with strawberry and bananas. I think my eyes were bigger than my stomach cause I left totally full. read more

Island Style Fried Rice&Eggs!!! So far, one of the best fried rice I have eaten so far in Hawaii! Choke mixture of ingredients (Just didn't care for the kamaboku) and eggs makes for a very tasty meal! read more

Egg n' Things is ALWAYS a great choice. I like how when you check in, the host/hostess takes down your cell phone number and then calls you when your table is ready. That way, you can walk around the shops while you're waiting and not have to crowd around the door. This time we got the Acai Hawaiian Bowl (fruit/granola/yogurt). Very good. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. I got the fried rice with two eggs. So ono!! I like Eggs n' Things' fried rice because they put kamaboko, spam, sausage, and lots of other tasty ingredients into it. And the portions are quite big. My friend ordered the loco moco--a very good version of this island staple. After all this food, we were too stuffed to get any sweets! read more

Very good place for quick breakfast, large menu selection. Staff very friendly and provide excellent service.

The service at this eggs N things was amazing!! The food was great and brought out very quickly! Our server Tiff was great and very attentive to our needs without being intrusive. This was my third time eating here and I feel that the service here has always been great! read more

Lots of food for the price $$. Delicious. Roomy..a little store for their popular items to take with you. Great souvenirs. Very busy and a little wait time. read more

Fist time I've eaten at this location. I usually eat at the one in Waikiki by the post office. This one doesn't have the same cute ambiance, but the food is just as good. Had the Island Fried Rice and Eggs for the first time. Ordered my eggs scrambled...next time will do fried. A Huge portion...had leftovers for dinner. I have yet to order the "famous pancakes", maybe next time...I'm usually a savory person for breakfast. read more

Good food! We got there at 7:00am and the place was empty. By 7:15, there was a line. Food came quickly and was delicious. Good service. Would go there again. Get there early - there is plenty if free parking on the premises. read more

We hit this place up because we saw a huge ad for it near the mall and we wanted a full breakfast. Hubby had the eggs benedict, which he said was just ok. The sauce was bland and there was supposed to be a home-made biscuit thing which he said looked like an English muffin to him. I had their pancakes which were one of their specialties. I ordered the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes and I was a little surprised by the fact that pineapple was diced very tiny. It was on top of the pancakes and baked into them, but I still was expecting larger chunks of pineapple, not these tiny little things. I remember tasting one or two macadamia nuts, but that was it. They were either diced finely or there weren't very many of them. The one plus was the huge mound of whipped cream on top, which meant I didn't even need to use syrup to make them a little sweeter. The cakes themselves were good (kind of thin, but not bad). As a matter of point, I did try the two local syrups - one of which was coconut and the other tasted like a sweet type of fruity syrup. They were both pretty good. Their plantation iced tea was excellent. Hubby had OJ, which was fine. The bill was $37 which was very expensive for a meal that was not completely fantastic. If I lived here, I might eat here again, but since I'm a visitor I would try other places and not necessarily go back here. read more

This was my first time to Eggs n Things and the experience wasn't memorable. The food took 14 minutes to come out. The omelette was average and the turkey bacon was a bit salty. The macadamia nut pancakes were really good but they couldn't make up for the poor customer service and horrible iced coffee. Probably wouldn't come back here. read more

Large selection menu of breakfast items. Pancakes are not bad at all. Love to see all the Japanese tourists ordering pancakes topped with 5" of whipped cream. I think they spend more time taking photos and videos of the food than eating. LOL! A bit on the pricey side ($12-20 for breakfast) but it's a great place to eat when you are craving breakfast at lunch. read more

My mother used to always rave about eggs n things because she was one of the first people to eat there when it opened. Sadly, the place has gone down hill. I ordered an eggs Benedict, which was lacking enough hollandaise sauce and my mom ordered a omelette that was basically just scrambled eggs and vegetables. While the service and atmosphere was great, the food was underwhelming. If you come here I would recommend pancakes (we really liked them with the lilikoi and coconut syrup) or the fried rice. read more

You know after reading all these bad reviews I got nervous eating here. But I have to say my husband and 9 year old daughter never go wrong when it comes to yummy places to dine. I went with my little family after a Sunday service at church. My husband was expecting a long line but needless we got seated right away!!!! The last time he came with my daughter they had pineapple syrup but our waitress said it's seasonal so we had guava instead. Oh wells hopefully I'll try it next time. If I can add our waitress was great! She has a handheld iPhone to take your order...different but I guess it links with their POS system. My husband got Country Fried Steak (16.55), my daughter wanted a Banana Waffle w/whip cream (12.75), and I got Portuguese Sausage & scrambled eggs (9.95) which comes with your choice of rice, potatoes, or buttermilk pancakes. I got pancakes but you can upgrade to one of their speciality pancakes for an extra charge. Food was pretty good not great but I enjoyed everything. My daughter's waffle tasted really good but wasn't that impressive for 12 dollars!!!! Loved the whip cream on the top. Husband steak was good too but again for 16 bucks I think it should of been a bigger portion. My meal cost the least and I got a good size meal!!!! So I would suggest their Meat&Eggs option much cheaper and you get more food. Soda is 3 dollars and my coffee was 2.75 next time I'll stick with water. Overall I had a good experience. Food was good but prices not that great. Customer service on the other hand was great! 4 stars!!! read more

It was my first time going here on the first day of being here on the island and this place was great. I never had polish sausages before having them here and it was amazing. The pancakes are just right, not too much mix or too large. Oh and my son loved the silver dollar pancakes he had too. I try eggs benedict over some crab cake for the first time and that had to be one of the best breakfast meals i tastes in years. Ahhh just a great breakfast place all around in my book. read more

love this place, first time at this location....service was great, sat down right away...which was unexpected because we knew about the wait times from saratoga location. I always enjoy a hawaiian twist to my breakfast, either it being macadamia nut or coconut pancakes. Everything here is delicious. Big portions, great prices, great atmosphere. read more

This is the best place for breakfast while visiting Honolulu. Everything on the menu is great and they have the best Loco Moco I had in our entire trip to Hawaii. The prices are also cheap which is good to know if you're just there as tourist. The service is fast and very friendly here as well.. read more

Service was very friendly. Food was not very good. I had the strawberry crepes and they were very bitter and spur did not taste good at all. Pancakes were tough and sour (i think their Buttermilk was bad). We waited about 35 minutes and I am not quite sure why after eating the food. We had come for the sanrio character promotion which no where on all their decorations said it started at noon until we were seated and asked about it (we sat at 10:30am). Overall not a good experience read more

First time at any of he Eggs and Things. Long lines but by myself, seating at the counter was wide open. Rick, behind the counter was very friendly, he gave me a little bit of history with the other restaurants. The omelet special was done perfectly. Canadian bacon, green onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. Nice special. A bit noisy but that is the nature of this place. Will return in the future, enjoyable meal. read more

Finally got to try this location. We can here on Sunday n they told us it was a hour wait at lunch time. Omg!! We bailed n ate at Teddy's down the road. We came back the next day around 11am. The food n service was pretty good, but for breakfast it was kinda pricey. I guess that's what u gotta pay at a big name restaurant flooded with Japanese tourists. I'll bring all my J-friends here when they want to eat breakfast. read more
