Spam fried rice is always a fave here. However, seating was interesting this time of the many times we've been here. We were told we were only "allowed" to use 1 high chair- we had 2 small children that both needed 1 and were not big enough to use a booster or sit on the regular seat. It was a hard no from the staff to use 2. It wasn't crowded and we were only a party of 4 total. They really made a big deal over seating with 2 high chairs. We ordered food and it was delivered- that was it. No one came by to fill our drinks or anything. Our children didn't make a peep the entire meal. It worked out as our small children were able to adapt. Hopefully next time the staff will better know how to accommodate. I'm sure other families have more than 2 small children. read more

Came here for breakfast early in the morning. I waited a bit before getting attention from a server, even though the place was pretty empty. I was going to order the crab cakes benedict until the waiter told me it was made with 1/2 crab, 1/2 imitation crab. I ordered the Florentine benedict instead. What I really liked about the Florentine benedict was that they used a good amount of sautéed spinach and sautéed fresh mushroom. What I did not like was that they buttered the English muffin (did not go well with the flavor) and the hollandaise sauce was very bland! Overall the benedict lacked flavor and required a lot of salt/pepper assistance. They need to ditch the butter on the muffins (it tasted like A LOT) and make better hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were ok. Totally tasted frozen. And they don't allow you to substitute fried rice for the potatoes. In addition, it was expensive. I recommend Waffles n Things over this place if you want Florentine benedict. The hollandaise is tastier, there's no weird buttery taste, and you can substitute fried rice for potatoes. I've heard good things about the Waikiki location so I was excited for a new brekkie option in our neighborhood when this location finally opened. We arrived before 9 on a Saturday morning and were told the wait would be 10 minutes. It turned out to be at least double that wait time but that was fine, no big deal. The hubby & I order, 2 coffees, an order of eggs benedict, strawberry pancakes and a side of bacon. Yes, that gives us fat ass status but in our defense, when trying someplace new, we like variety. Coffee was decent and replenished at regular intervals. The pancakes were OK as far as taste and texture. The whipped cream mountain on top is redunk. We should have known better and asked for it on the side. I didn't like that the strawberries were frozen in the middle so I pushed them aside with the whipped cream and just used the guava syrup instead. That was muuuuuch better. Eggs on the benny were a tad over cooked, not oozy and runny how they're supposed to be and both of us didn't like the hamburger bun like bread that was used in place of the "normal" English muffin. The potatoes that came with were yummy. Our side of bacon was OK except that it was $6 for 5 slices. If the bacon itself doesn't give you a heart attack, the price most definitely could. Service was good. Our waiter was cordial and efficient. Food was brought out quickly, waters refilled and he did check to see how we were doing. Basic but good. Had a nice time with my bff's here. When we arrived at the restaurant it looked very busy. The wait was communicated well (didn't wait longer than they told us - estimated 30 mins but was only 20 mins). We ordered a variety of items from an egg-white veggie omelet, crab cake eggs benedict, paniolo loco moco, and the sour cream strawberry crepe. All were delicious. However, we thought it a bit overpriced for breakfast. Technology is suppose to make ordering and paying efficient but when we were ready to pay our bill the waitress couldn't find it in their electronic system. Sadly we have been to this location multiple times and this will be the last. Ordered two side orders of bacon...$6 for 4 pieces of burnt bacon, $12 for two side orders of bacon is insane. A small (think espresso size) cup of lukewarm coffee was $3. Outside of the ridiculous price for those things I ordered the oxtail soup which didn't get to me until my son was almost done his food and when it did finally arrive it was inedible. Poor quality food and service. Went for our usual furikake ahi and eggs, but my husband decided to try the chicken cutlet w/ mushroom and onion gravy for $14. That was a huge mistake! The cutlet was thin, tasteless, and crumbled in your mouth because of the processed consistency. Went here on a Sunday because my friend was craving breakfast food, but not at the breakfast time. The only place I could think of that serves breakfast all day, is this place. Arrived around 10 or so. When we arrived we were told the wait would be around 30 minutes. 30 minutes later we checked to see how much longer we had to wait and were told another 30 minutes. We were a little annoyed because it was a crazy hot day, and waiting in the sun just is not the business. I expected it to be busy, as it was a Sunday and prime eating hours. Anyways, we were finally seated, and since we waited so long, we were starving. All the food we got was just...okay. The only thing worth talking about is the cheesecake stuffed french toast. That dish was very good, but that was about the only dish we actually thought was delicious. Everything else was something I could have probably made myself. Came in around noon on a Thursday and was happy to get seated right away because my boyfriend and I were hungry! (There were about 4 other open tables as well at this time so even more people could've come and been seated quickly also) The girl at the register was very friendly and greeted us right away with a smile and a hello when we walked in. I ordered the tomato and cheese omelet and potatoes and my boyfriend had the chicken fried steak w/brown gravy and the pancakes. The potatoes tasted like frozen, cubed, somewhat coated/breaded(?) potatoes that were just thrown in a deep fryer. (In their defense you can pay an extra 1.95 to have "premium potatoes" sautéed in olive oil which probably means real potatoes freshly cut and cooked vs. frozen...now I know!) On to the omelet, which was SUPER thin (is this really 3 eggs?) and greasy. Yes, there was a ton of cheese and tomatoes on it, but it was overkill and just out of balance with the egg to everything else ratio. My boyfriend seemed like, ah, it's ok, but then later felt sick and was blaming the brown gravy. The food just really needs less grease overall. I walked out of there telling my boyfriend ummm, yeah, never again. There are many more spots where you pay less or the same and get better quality food. Yes, it's a tourist spot and the last time I ate at an eggs n things was years ago at the old Waikiki one. I was so hungover I didn't clearly remember what I ate and I was so distracted by how close everyone was to everyone else at that location. This new location has separate tables and chairs where you aren't "eating with strangers" like at the old Waikiki location. This was my first visit to this place as I was given a Gift Certificate for Christmas and decided to try something new. The cashier notified me that I would have to use the full amount and that no voucher would be given to compensate for the remaining balance. For one, that is a terrible policy in which you must use the full amount in one transaction or lose the whole thing, but that was not what ruined my experience. I was willing to compromise by ordering takeout for the difference when the Manager, Ian, rudely stepped in and told us that we should just pay for the meal out of pocket and come back with a bigger group to use the $50.00. Ian was greatly lacking in customer service and it is a wonder how he became a manager as he is a poor problem solver. What... toast has to be ordered separately?! $ 9.95 for a mediocre plate and to have to pay an extra $2.95 for a side of toast...well...I passed on that. Was well overdue to try eggs n things, haven't been to the other locations but loved piikoi. Interior really cute n clean, sunny yellow walls, dark wood, but on to the important details... Really good pancakes and crepes. Pancakes fluffy and flavorful, crepes had good density and didn't fall apart. Big portions, just had the leftovers for breakfast today, (should have bought some of their guava syrup for home though). Tourist trap. Avoid at all costs unless you want to overpay for breakfast. Ordered banana pancakes that had the worst tasting bananas I've ever eaten. They offered to change the order to French toast but it was just a little better. My other half ordered the loco moco and couldn't finish it. Other than the fact that we did not have to wait long for our table in the morning, my overall experience was not at all impressive. The menu had great variety and very interesting items such as sour cream strawberry pancakes/waffles. However, the prices were insanely high. I ordered a chocolate chip waffle with whipped cream and my friend ordered pancakes. Within the 20-30 minutes that we were waiting for our food, our water was not filled until we asked multiple times. My coffee, which was ordered before the meal, was not delivered to me in a decent amount of time. When our food FINALLY came to our table, the first thing that we noticed was the humangous mountain of whipped cream topping each of our plates. It was as if someone took a tub of Cool Whip and dumped it on a waffle that was no thicker than an Ego freezer waffle. For $12.50, I concluded that the waffles were not worth it. You would get your money's worth if you had a whipped cream craving. But then again, you could go to the store and buy a box of Ego's and Cool Whip for the amount that I paid for this waffle. My friend's pancakes, however, had the same amount of whipped cream but also a decent amount of pancakes. The pancakes, in my opinion, are worth more than the waffles. After dealing with the disappointment of the meal, we left the restaurant paying Kama'aina rate of 5% off. It was not much, but every penny deducted would bring more sense to the value of the food and service. +: Quality syrups (maple, coconut, guava), decent pancake portion, short morning lines. -: Slow/poor service, food not worth super high prices. read more
