For a restaurant with "eggs" in the name, I was surprised and disappointed by the unartful execution of my mushroom omelette. Adding insult to injury, the prices here are more inline with Wikiki than the convention center area. I had much better breakfasts for less, elsewhere in Hololulu. read more

One of my favorite local places that I've found. Service superb and friendly. Food is great and good portions. Today I had the ENT LOKO MOKO. Was really good. Wish they had half and half for coffee and suggest you ask for whole milk. Great local crowd. Good vibes read more

The hostess was friendly and very patient. As soon as we got seated we were greeted by the server, he asked us if we wanted anything and we said just water. It took me and my boyfriend a while to decide what we wanted to order because it was hard to choose what to order when there was so much good food. But we finely decided on omelets my boyfriend got the bacon and cheese omelet. I got the spinach, bacon and cheese omelet. Are server was an average type of server who really only was serving to get the money. read more

despite the number of places to eat near the mall, when you work nearby, it's still very easy to get tired of going to the same places over and over again. so when eggs n things opened in the spot where i love country used to be, i was pretty excited. i was even more excited when my boss decided to treat me and my froleague. ive never tried the waikiki location, but ive heard good things. i assumed they brought over a bunch of their staff from the waikiki to the ala moana location. the staff was pretty friendly. it did peeve me a bit when the guy that showed us to our seats only gave us 2 menus when there was 3 of us there. he had another 50 menus right by him. they also take your order on these cell phone looking devices. dont worry, they're not texting.... well thats what our waitress told us. we got there around 1130 and was seated around 1145, which i thought was fine. they just opened, and judging by what i heard about the waikiki location, i expected it to be pretty busy. the food came out rather quickly. i had the strawberry pancakes with whip cream and nuts, which i thought was alright... not sure if it was $11 alright though. it looked alot better than it tasted. my froleague had a strawberry banana crepe which he thought was good (i didnt get to taste it. he didnt want any of mines so i didnt want any of his). and my boss got some kalibi. my froleague and i agreed that the kalbi was the best of the bunch. our total came out to be $36 after the kamaaina discount (i jokingly tried to get the cashier to charge us full price since my boss is originally from hong kong. my boss was paying. i dont think my boss liked that too much). i guess the price was alright, but if im gonna pay that much, i feel like id rather head over to zippys or mcdonalds (i love egg mcmuffins). overall, i thought it was pretty good. since i do work across the street, i will more than likely be coming back here again. read more

We went there and had dessert. We ordered the waffle with strawberries and banana. I ordered it with the chocolate syrup on the side, which upon delivery it was on the item. On top of that, I waited almost half hour for my food and it wasn't even that busy. I asked how much is it for the extra fruit, the waiter Randy tells me just a small charge. Well it was no small charge, it was $5.50 and wasn't that much strawberries at all. I asked him for a refill on my coffee and he fills it up half way and doesn't come back. When paying for the bill, a cashier named Dom asked, "how was everything?" I stated ALL my complains and she just looked so dumbfounded. She didn't even bother to call a manager or anything. Very disappointed. read more

Went in at noon Tuesday and it as packed but had a seat within 5 minutes. I had the corned beef hash omelet with macadamia nut pancakes. The corned beef hash was okay and portion was nice. Corned beef tasted canned but I did not mind as they would and should price it higher for the real thing considering the portion was good sized. .The macadamia nut pancakes was included and it was not real fluffy but it was tasty and had a somewhat crunchy texture on the outsides with good amount of nuts. I had the coconut syrup and liked it. Coffee was adequate. My friend had an omelet but I forget which one. I think it had peppers with sausage and regular pancakes included. She really enjoyed her order. The hostess could have been better as she left without telling us she would be right back. She should have said she was checking on our table but she was pleasant. Our waiter was a tanned local man. He was pleasant but I had to ask for coffee after they brought my order as he did not check on us to see if we wanted anything else or if we were enjoying our meal. I also had to ask for a refill but he was always around as he was busy so getting his attention was easy. So while service was not great it was okay. The bill for two was about 23 dollars with the kamaaina (local) discount. Just give them your local ID when paying.Hawaii restaurants are expensive so bill was not too bad as the meal and everything was enjoyable and not unpleasant. I will go there again. I do not have to be pampered as long as you are nice and i dont have to wait for a long time for a simple meal. read more

So if you ask me what kind of food person I am generally I would say... MEXICAN... But if you asked me my second favorite foods.. I would say BREAKFAST!! Nom. I get excited thinking about it. I have had many people tell me about eggs n things and it always gets mixed reviews. My boyfriend Jordan S. and myself like to go out to breakfast every weekend or so. We had exhausted some of our favorites and decided to try something new. We try to avoid Waikiki but with the location at Ala Moana I said lets try it. Parking is terrible but with the mall next door I don't mind parking there with a walk. You will need it after you eat. We had a short wait in the morning around noon on a saturday of around 15 mins. Yes that is morning time for us. We were seated and given the massive menu of options. I like the ambiance in this place a lot. They have pictures of old Hawaii. I also like the uniforms the servers wear. It is kinda touristy but I still like it! I ordered the banana pancakes, bacon and eggs. All I can say is YUM NOM NOM mouth watering good. I highly recommend the whip cream. You might think..meh whateves.. but NO you must experience it! Super thick and huge. I want some right now. Anyways the bacon was perfect. The flavor.. wow i wanna know where to get that its that good. My eggs were done longer than I wanted but still delicious none the less. My boyfriend always orders protein for breakfast and he loved it all. The price is a little higher than what you would find at other places. The servers are friendly and they use Iphones/Ipods/Ipads to do all the ordering. So cool! I love when places use technology. I think everything it makes up for the higher cost. Definitely worth taking family and friends to. read more

Service stinks, steak was bad furikake ahi was dry and the corn chowder no flavor we was the only people in the restaurant at 7:15ish

This place is sneaky. From the street it looks like a small walk-up place to get takeout. In reality they take your name at ground level & seat you upstairs. The menu is extensive & the food was fabulous. The table is set up with maple syrup, coconut syrup & guava syrup. Yum! Our waiter was excellent and everyone's order was perfect & delicious. read more

Every time I try to eat here I skipped it because the line was to long. I don't like waiting an hour just to eat breakfast. This place must be good with lines that are always long. Well one morning my wife and I are looking for a place to eat breakfast. We pass by Eggs 'n Things and there was a short line. So finally we can eat here. First experience when walking in was the the design of the place. The waiting area and the cashier is in the same place. People who are waiting in line to be seated by the host is actually blocking the door. As you enter the restaurant you will need to walk through the line of people waiting in line to be seated. When you pay at the cashier you are actually bumping the people waiting to be seated. Yes it is that tight in that area. Keep in mind this is the entrance to the restaurant too. You guessed it after you pay you need to wiggle your way through the line of people waiting to be seated. When we were seated we had our own table that was butted up to another table with another couple sitting down. It felt like we were eating with this couple. The couple we were "eating with" came about 10 min after we ordered. They left before us because they forgot my order, so my food came out after theirs. Now on to the food. I had the crepes and my wife had the pancakes. My wife's order came in a timely manner, they forgot my order. My wife was almost done eating when they brought my order. While I was waiting for my order I was eating my wife's pancakes. The pancakes was terrible, barely any taste and my crepes not any better either. I am not kidding but my 15 year old niece makes better crepes than here. I most likely will not eat here again. Not because of the design of the restaurant or the fact they forgot my order but for the fact that the quality of the food is not worth any wait. Even if I have friends from the mainland visiting and want to eat here, I will take them somewhere else like Wailana coffee shop. I love to support local business but sorry eggs n things until you can up the quality of your food you will not have my support. read more

Good customer service but food was average. Waffles....they don't use fresh strawberry so waffles in the middle were so wet with strawberry juice. If it's strawberry syrup, it will taste better but it tasted just cheap strawberry juice. Whipped cream was ok. Coffee and tea quality are average too. read more

I find it ridiculous when a restaurant staff tells a customer that they can not make any substitutions. My wife who does not like ham wanted eggs Benedict made with bacon instead of ham and was told no. How hard is it to put bacon on instead of ham and all the staff would have to do is charge us for a side of bacon and let the kitchen staff know. read more

Hawaiian loco moco for breakfast. Very good and filling! Seated at the bar, no line when I arrived. Crowd outside now that I'm done eating. Food was hot, fresh, and tasty. This will keep me full until dinner. Nothing to compare it to, for this is my first venture out in Honolulu. Price was ok, service was fine. If my ladies can get up before 9am, I will take them here. The pancakes and island style toppings look like their tastes. read more

Not sure what all the hype and lines are about. Went at 11:30 on a Sunday morning. ~20 min wait and another ~25 min for our food to come out after ordering. Omelet was fair, pancakes flower tasting and coffee weak. Be sure to use your island dicount card for an extra 10% off. Cost $30 for 2 people. read more

The wait was almost an hour long though it is to be expected on a Sunday. What wasn't expected was hearing that they "have to charge " for a cup of hot water. Okay, all they have to do is warm it up.. Why do they have to charge? Then of course hearing that "they're all out of ice cream" for their pancake desserts and in order to make this customer "happy" they'll "have to charge separately for the ingredients to make it." Our waitress asked us a bajillion times if we wanted rice or potatoes with our entrees and still managed to get our orders wrong despite telling her a million times. For out first time here I'd probably end up not coming back... Ever. read more

Got the Hawaiian loco moco.. Anticipated it to be amazing but it fell far short from that.. The patty wasn't cooked all the way thru.. Normally it doesn't bother me if it's pink inside except it was cold in the middle.. Not only was the party cold n more then just a little pink in the middle but it tasted sour?! I asked them if they season the patties? They said no it's a frozen package of parties that they use. I tried to tell them what was wrong and possibly it was spoiled. I only got a weird look. I didn't want a refund or a discount or a change in order, I was concerned about anyone else that might order it. But no concern or anything was showed or offered at all:( read more

Went to have breakfast at Eggs N Things at Ala Moana, with my youngest. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME & $$. Service & food sucks. Because we were killing time & waiting for my husband to finish his dentist appointment, we didn't mind waiting 20-25 mins on a table. But waiting 45 mins for our food to come is UNACCEPTABLE. Our waiter, Lawrence was not at all concerned that we was the only 2 person party sitting in a booth while everyone else that came after us got their order & was enjoying their mediocre quality of food. The only thing that tasted ok for me to ask for a refill was the cup of coffee & a cup of water. So the 15% discount off our bill was for the "kama'aina" rate that u were explaining to the other patrons before me. So, no i do NOT feel guilty or sorry for not leaving any tip for Lawrence the waiter. read more

My girlfriend and I were in Tokyo last month and passed by an Eggs"n Things in Shibuya. The line went around the block and we figured we would have to wait over 3 hours just to get a table. Unbelievable! So when we passed by the Piikoi St. Eggs and saw no line one evening, we decided to give it a try. Maybe we both ordered the wrong thing but I gotta say that I don't understand why anyone would line up for this restaurant. After ordering we waited a pretty long time for our meals to be served. I had some type of chicken that was so dry and over-cooked that it was hard to cut. The pancakes that came with it were so rubbery I thought I could bounce them off the floor. I could not cut them with a fork. My girlfriend's Kal Bi wasn't bad but her pancakes were just like mine. Each entree was over $12.00. I could get better pancakes, better tasting food at about half the price at Koa Pancake House. Like I said, maybe we ordered the wrong things, but I won't be back. read more

I ordered a veggie omelette and was very disappointed.. My eggs were not cooked and yolky!! So I asked to have it cooked some more.. 10 mins later they brought the same plate out I opened the omelette and it was still full of yolk and my veggies were raw! This is the 2nd time I've eaten at the piikoi location.. The first time my French toast was soggy and the eggs were yolky... Very disappointing!! The original one on Saratoga road I rather deal with the wait an right settings.. Presentation isn't everything... Should focus more on making sure the food is cooked!!! I dunno if this was a good idea in expanding locations.. Pointless! read more

The food was good, a step up from IHOP but nothing to write home about. The upselling was rediculous. I ordered the pancakes with spam and eggs $9.95. The whole place is all about the specialty pancakes so I asked for the pancakes to be pineapple-the server asked if I would like whipped cream...sure. Sliced banana on top...sure.This is where the server should have stated that there are charges for this. In Hawaii, bananas are growing EVERYWHERE, even along the side of the highway. I was charged an extra $2.25 for 1/2 of a banana. The food was all tasty except for the fake whipped topping which was as tall as my glass and didn't taste good at all. Somehow my plate(alone) turned into an $18 pancake breakfast. Small extra charges are understandable, but that was plain robbery....oh and we had to circle the parking lot four times in heavy traffic to find a parking. Will not return. read more

Many restaurants are known for a particular item in their menu. Be it a meat dish, soup, or a dessert, every restaurant with a franchise has their "star". For this franchise, it is their pancakes. Food aside, service as well as cleanliness is a factor when deciding to go back. This spot has been around for a while and I thought it was time to give this place it's fair review. Food: With a name like "Eggs and Things" you must expect the "star" to be it's breakfast menu; specializing in eggs. In my humble opinion, they do a really good job in meeting my expectations! I have never gotten an order wrong here (eggs have been made to my liking every time). When you order eggs, they sometimes cook it too long or too short. My over easy, over medium, or scrambled eggs is cooked to perfection every time! The pancakes are so good, I always try to get them as part of my meal whenever I dine here. The syrups (maple, guava, or coconut) are all worth a try. Personally, it's boysenberry for me; but to keep the local flair, I choose the guava when I'm here. Their dinner menu has been revamped since two years ago where they have daily specials as well as more delicious dinner entrées, appetizers, and now they serve alcohol. I am impressed with how they always cook my steaks as ordered; every time! The misses finally got to try the soup in a bread bowl dish there. She really liked it and suggests it. Service and cleanliness: I think it really depends when and which day you go. The days where you expect it to be crowded, the "A Team" of servers are there. However, the servers on the other days do their best; and I appreciate that. It really shows when they go the extra step for you. The restaurant and restrooms are clean. Although there are accidents at times where they spill something or the restroom needs replenishing, the workers are quick in solving each problem. I appreciate their speediness as well as their attention to detail; although they could use more enthusiasm. The misses and I come here often when we're in the area, and love their daily specials on the board. Sometimes they hit your craving on the spot! When deciding on a restaurant, but would like a cozier shop to eat at, we highly suggest this location above the Waikiki locations. Happy yelping everyone! read more

Heard a lot about this place and it seems to be very popular with a lot of Japanese tourists so me and my bf decided to go here for breakfast. First of all, it's really crowded. Expect there to be a waiting time. The host told us about 20 minutes, it was around 30, not a big deal. I host at a restaurant too so I know that times are only approximate and when it's busy it can be even longer. After the buzzer goes off, we went inside and sat down at a table. Theres only like 3 booths so if you wanna wait for a booth...thats probably gonna be even longer. Greeted by our server pretty quickly but I usually take some time ordering so I told her I needed a few minutes. She came back about 2 more times wondering if we were ready and by the 3rd time I ordered the waffles and my bf ordered strawberry pancakes. Okay, so our food came out pretty quickly but WORD OF WARNING: they give a TON of whipped cream. Not a bad thing if you like whipped cream, but not a very good thing if you dont like that. Also, I don't recommend the waffles....they suck. It's like they took an eggo waffle and just put it in a toaster. The waffles arent light and fluffy....like many other resturants make them. For some reason, theirs is super flat and just topped off with a ton of whipped cream. I didn't like it, so I asked to change it to some pancakes. the same ones my bf ordered. That was better. It tasted pretty good but I wish I just ordered a typical eggs, sausage and pancake breakfast that they do offer. I also ordered a side link sausage for about $5.50. In my opinion, thats way overpriced. The atmosphere is cool. Decorated pretty nicely and the resturant seems really clean which is always a plus. Overall, our service was OKAY; idk she seemed kinda ehhhhh the whole time. Food was OKAY, i'd try something different next time. read more

Eggs Benedict...bad, really bad. If you have ever had really good Eggs Benedict please do NOT expect that here. English Muffin...not present. Instead a large bagel textured muffin, very dense and not toasted. The ham was smokey, tasted good and completely took over the dish. Three to four pieces of ham on each bagel.. I mean muffin. The eggs were cooked good...the second time around. The first order that came out the yolk was hard and just the circle around the Yoke was there. When they brought out the second order I was pleasantly surprised at how they corrected the poached egg and got it right. Then I tasted it. Looks pretty, tastes pretty BAD. The staple to the eggs Benedict is the hollandaise sauce, basic ingredients are: butter, fresh lemon, and egg yolks. None of which tasted like it was in the recipe used here. The sauce had a flavor that you would get from a packaged sauce. Bland. Overall this was one of the worst Eggs Benedict I have tasted. I couldn't even bring myself too eat 1/4 if this meal. The food is good, however, recently we decided to do a "take out order" after placing my order and my wife's order I gave my son's order (Kids Menu). I was told his order couldn't be placed because "it's their policy - kids dishes can't be ordered!" Nolan the host as well as the cashier provided a terrible experience on Mother's Day on the onset of coming in and sitting down after waiting for 45 minutes. You better have your whole party all together or you'll get the same treatment - harassment of not having the whole party and be asked to leave. Customer service seriously needs some work as it is evidenced in Yelp. The kicker too is for kamaaina, you have to show your ID for the discount because the cashier definitely won't ask. Really, you have to prompt yourself? And not the other way around? Just plain examples of the poor service and staff that have no idea of providing quality customer service. Waitress was fine and food was mediocre. NOT coming back but hey, that's business. Had a nice time with my bff's here. When we arrived at the restaurant it looked very busy. We ordered a variety of items from an egg-white veggie omelet, crab cake eggs benedict, paniolo loco moco, and the sour cream strawberry crepe. All were delicious. However, we thought it a bit overpriced for breakfast. Technology is suppose to make ordering and paying efficient but when we were ready to pay our bill the waitress couldn't find it in their electronic system. I would eat here again but there are a lot of breakfast places in town I would think of going to first (i.e. Cafe Kaila, Sweet E's, Longhi's, Pancake House, etc). read more
