He was the older guy, overall seemed short and like he didn't want us there. 30 seconds after sitting down he asks if we know what we want to order and when we said not yet he just turned around like he was annoyed and every interaction after that. Solid spot for a hearty breakfast in the heart of Waikiki. There was already a decent wait list, but I expected it in this tourist hotspot. Kudos to the staff for being friendly super fast. I went for the egg scramble with Portuguese sausage, and it hit the spot. It was decent eggs mixed with chunks of smoky, spicy sausage and it was comfort food at its finest, especially before a morning beach walk. The short stack of pancakes were alright and did need a bit of syrup but they were light yet indulgent without being overly sweet. Only ding is the price, because they're definitely on the touristy side (think $20+), which stings a bit, but honestly, for the location and portions, it's not a dealbreaker. Went to the Ala Moana location and loved the food so came here hoping for the same since it seemed like a chain. While the menu was the same, the food was different and not good. All 3 dishes ordered came out wrong including ahi, cheeseburger and waffle. The hostess is very rude and the service is not great. There was a party whose name was called when I walked up (I remember the name because it was unique). Well 20 mins later the person came up because she must not have heard her name called (they only call out your name once) and she asked if ordering the food to go would be faster. The hostess didn't say she already called her name and the table was ready, but proceeded to just take the takeout order. The woman was clearly expecting a text she didn't receive. Tried to eat here two days in a row, and both times the wait time was completely misleading. On the first day, we were told the wait would be around 1 hour. After about 40 minutes, we received a text saying they were "busier than usual," and the wait kept getting longer. We left because it was too hot to keep waiting. On the second day, we were clearly told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we received another text saying they were busier than usual and added another 30 minutes. In total, it became more than 1 hour again. It feels like a trap because they do not show the real wait time upfront. Once people have already waited 30-60 minutes, they feel pressured to keep waiting another 20-30 minutes. Very frustrating experience. read more

This is Avery popular place, the line is long but the wait is acceptable. Today's Special is Ahi & Eggs, but we ordered Ahi Burger, thinking the ahi shall be good today - we are not disappointed, it is pretty good, although it can have more flavor. The Plantation Pork Chop & Eggs, however, is so so, the pork chop is not super tender but not very chewy also. We especially like the slice of pineapple and the potatoes. A home style-feel restaurant with a beautiful view of Waikiki beach! The staff works very efficient here. We were sat by a window seat with an amazing view. I ordered the fresh ahi & eggs and it was great with the furikake seasoning. I enjoyed my meal with a fresh glass of pineapple juice and it did not disappoint. It's our first time in this Eggs 'n Things location. We usually frequent the one in Piikoi. I got the kalbi with overeasy eggs, kimchi and regular pancakes for breakfast. The kalbi was a little bit burnt, thin and 3 pcs only. The serving here is definitely smaller than the one in Piikoi. I also got used to the Coconut and Guava syrup in Piikoi but they didn't have it here in this location. The place is usually busy and packed but the staff were nice and friendly. Will I go back here again? Probably not. I also find the price expensive for the quality of food you get. read more

There were 35 parties ahead of us; when we left, there were 40 in line. The views here are amazing if you can get a table with a window, but that seems to be luck of the draw. The food was respectable. I thoroughly enjoyed my Loco Moco with eggs over medium: the patty had a great texture and flavour, the mix-ins were yummy, and the egg was perfectly cooked to my liking. I've only had loco moco a few times, but this was easily the best one I've tried. My partner had the Egg Scramble 'n Things w/ Portuguese sausage & breakfast potatoes. She enjoyed it but didn't find it particularly noteworthy. The cold brew was good. Iced capp was almost as good as back home. Water is available upon request. They have some cute merch for sale at the front. Service was overall decent; our server missed getting our drinks but another staff member noticed & helped us out. We figured we needed to try this spot and for the four days we were there there was always a huge line, thankfully I used Yelp's Reservation system to get in line and that made a huge difference. The restaurant is very small but it has a nice location with great views of the beach right across the street. Service is great and the staff are friendly! The food was pretty good; everyone enjoyed their waffles, pancakes and French Toast, the omelette was the only thing that didn't quite hit the spot in terms of flavor and we were limited on ingredients unless we wanted to pay extra-extra.
