Amazing service, food, and value! It was our first time. The owner was so welcoming and tried his best to get to know us. He gave us complimentary Kawartha ice cream! I highly recommend if you are searching for a good breakfast diner

With the major Eglinton construction that's set to span over a number of years, stores on this street are starting to take a hit. But store owner Steve thought quick on his feet and converted his former video rental shop into this awesome convenience store + diner combo, sporting the most appropriate store name ever. This store favours the workers nearby and it's the perfect place to grab a quick bite or even just to get out of the sun. I must say, I was a little apprehensive walking in at first, since I was expecting a burger & brunch place, but I'm glad I continued on because this place has so much more to offer than what meets the eye! Your usual burgers & fries, all-day breakfast, sandwiches, pancakes and coffee are scrumptiously available via walk-in or mobile order. Steve's got all his platforms set up. You can order from Uber Eats, Skip The Dishes, Foodora, or Door Dash for pickup or delivery. The coolest thing is that you can even order convenience store items like a chocolate bar, a bottle of juice, a bag of chips... that's definitely the first time I've seen that. Now that's convenience, right?? Hospitality is hard to find nowadays and Steve's got one of the best I've encountered. He'll happily show you around the store or menu if you're unfamiliar and he'll very willingly walk out from behind the counter to help you get whatever you need. He's friendly and attentive, and will stop to chat with you if you have time. While sitting in to finish my burger, I realized he knew nearly everybody coming in by name. I haven't seen for a while a store owner so passionate and connected to the people and the neighbourhood. Orders are coming in from left and right, so he's all over the place, but he'll take the time to stop and check on you if you're dining in. He really takes care of his shop, including his customers. In this unconventional diner/store setting, he really makes you feel welcomed. Last but not least, my food was amazing. Generous portions for a fair price. Not gonna lie, I was hungry so I ordered myself a Chef's Burger in the AM. (And of course sadly looking back, hunger took over and I forgot to take a pic of it!) But it was exactly what I wanted. A fully loaded burger fresh off the grill, juicy down to the last bite! My compliments to the chef :) CP24 is running on HD in the background. With the current construction, parking is a little tricky; it's more pedestrian-friendly. At the end of my visit, Steve gave me a stamp card which offers a free breakfast after the 10th order. Honestly, I haven't had such a warm and immersive dining experience in a long time, and unexpectedly from here. It's too bad I'm not in the area often. Steve if you're reading this, keep up the good work, I will definitely be back w/ friends! PS: Remember to check-in for a free drink!

Classic breakfast. Two pieces of rye, two eggs over easy, two sausages and two pieces of bacon with well done home fries

When you see the sign out front it looks like just an average breakfast place but as soon as you step in all of that changes. The front of the place is more like a mini market with ice cream by the scoop, baked goods, and somewhere to play your lotto tickets in case you want to hit the jackpot twice in one day. When you venture just a few feet in though it's like being in a retro diner: red booths and old school tables and accompanying chairs where needed. It's not very large but that's the beauty of it. The people I went with go in every few weeks and the owner remembered their names, and the waitress showed similar familiarity. I can't speak to the food of the others, but they order the same thing every time and love it. So I have to assume if you're paying for a grilled cheese it has to be pretty good. Myself, I had the eggs Benedict as I usually do when trying a new breakfast menu. I have had dozens over the years and when I say this sauce stopped me mid chew I mean it. I don't know what it was but it was ethereal. Much love and respect to this grounded hidden gem.

Classic breakfast and chocolate dream pancakes

Quaint little lunch cafe behind an industrial plaza…read more Came here for the first time and I'd heard from a regular that pretty much everything is made in house. She says even the fruit is cut fresh (as opposed to places using the cheap syrup stuff from cans). I wanted to get a burger from the photos they had but it's a bbq Friday special. They were just out of whole wheat bread when I arrived after 2:30 so I settled for a whole wheat chicken Cesar salad wrap. Portion of chicken was good, and the toppings seem fresh. For some reason, there's something special about this place. I can't put my finger on it. They have wifi which is a plus! I think it's run by a family but I can't promise it is. They seem pleasant here which is a big plus. Yes, they have premade sandwiches there but there are other options there too for you to customize your sandwich. This place reminds me of a little sandwich shop I'd like to run one day.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! I…read morework in this area, and it's one of the only places to grab lunch or breakfast in the Wingold/Tycos area. I gotta be honest here- the management does NOT care IN THE SLIGHTEST about satisfying their customers. I think they changed owners a few months ago- and they were very sweet and accommodating. The new management there is entitled, rude, and do not know how to run a business. Their MEGA- overpriced menu should have been the first red flag. One time they tried to charge me $5 for a bagel with cream cheese and told me I was wrong when I asked about it. Then I had to do the math myself and present it to them (came to $2.29 or something with taxes). Did they apologize for attempting to overcharge me then told me I was lying about it? No. He rolled his eyes and cashed me out. Clearly trying to pull a fast one. I reluctantly have gone back a few times (like I said, there is not a lot of choices in this area). The other day I went in and ordered a sandwich. I asked what was on it, she mentioned 4 ingredients, and I said sure I'll have it. Got back to work and it had been PACKED with cilantro. I couldn't eat it. (If you also hate cilantro you know it RUINS a meal if there is too much). For an $8 sandwich, I walked back over and asked them if I could have something else, since I did not know this was going to be a cilantro sandwich, and it'd be nice since they made no mention of that before I ordered it. The "chef" there told me I was LYING again, that there is NO cilantro on the sandwich, and then had me dissect the thing IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. It was ridiculous. After all this I politely asked if I could just have something else instead, and I apologized for the trouble. I asked for a chicken cutlet sandwich, which they of course put together in a hurry and didn't bother to heat up the chicken. So it was a cold chicken cutlet with cold tomato sauce and cold cheese. Appetizing, right? It came to a dollar more then the other sandwich, so they asked me to come back with a dollar next time. Whatever. They're cheap, it's very clear. My next visit: I order a bagel, toasted with cream cheese. They didn't listen when I asked for it toasted and got annoyed when I had to repeat the request. While I'm waiting to be cashed out, the "chef" there ACTUALLY YELLS ACROSS THE RESTAURANT: "you didn't come back the next day with the dollar" IS THIS GUY FOR REAL? My response "you served me two terrible sandwiches in one day, wasted my lunch hour with continuing to screw up very simple orders, gave me a "hot" sandwich that was freezing cold, told me it was MY fault, and now you're bothering me about a dollar? This is will be my last visit here." He shrugged his shoulders and said "Ok" I hope the other patrons heard this. This place is only there to take your money with their overpriced, bland food- and they do NOT care about making their customers happy. Not one bit. YOU'RE BETTER OFF GOING TO MCDONALDS, YOU'LL DEFINITELY GET TREATED BETTER.
