Rocking diner on Simcoe highly recommended

I concur with Weiqi's 4-star review of this tourist spot right near all Toronto's big attractions. For tourists, this is as good as it gets! Food was top notch. No complaints at all. If you crave diner food from back in your home town, this would be recommended by me in the area. Atmosphere and service a commensurate for a higher end place that you would expect from a large city restaurant with bold and bright interior including views onto some interesting walkways and roads as well as great service from friendly staff. They look ready to handle large volumes so don't be put off if they are busy with crowds in this area, they got you!

Definitely worth the wait! We waited about 20 to 30 minutes. The entire stay, we noticed the line stayed out the door. The service by Andre was fabulous. Steak and eggs breakfast was absolutely phenomenal! We ordered the "Irish coffee" was supposed to come with whiskey, sugar, and whipped cream. Showed up at our table as a black coffee with whiskey. We were able to ask for some oat milk on the side and added our own sugar and it turned out well. I have to say the coffee was really really good! The ambience was absolutely beautiful and everything was seamlessly perfect.

Cute place.. enjoyed the chandeliers and interior design. The tables are all spaced very close to just be prepared for a tight fit. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about gluten-free, but had lots of tables so service was quite slow. Lots of gf options on the menu including gf bread. I had the avocado and tomato toast and eggs. I really liked the side salad and everything was prepared well. Seasoning was a bit bland for my taste but they had lots of condiments for that. Overall nice spot close to the convention center.

Food/Drinks: This is a great place to get some breakfast. They have a range of items in their menu. We decided to get a salmon bowl, and my husband got a waffle with strawberries. It was really good, and I did enjoy the mimosas. Location: The location is very pretty and spacious. When we went, it was pretty busy, and we did have to wait a bit because we didn't have a reservation, but no more than 15 minutes, and we were able to get a table. The location is spacious and a pretty casual breakfast spot. Lots of families and couples, and just a perfect place to grab food to start your day. We walked here from our hotel, so I'm not sure how parking works for this location. Service: The service was pretty quick and helpful.

Cute cozy quaint intimate place. There wasn't anything unique on the menu. The food was very straightforward. We had a standard breakfast but the portions were very satisfying.

Attempt 1: Steak was well done (I asked for medium well). Eggs were good, potatoes and bread were bland.

Full Review: Ambiance: The restaurant is absolutely beautiful -- from the overall decor to the stylish bathrooms, everything was thoughtfully designed and visually stunning. Service: The hostess was incredibly sweet and went above and beyond by taking several photos of me with the CN Tower in the background, which I really appreciated. She also accommodated my seating preference without hesitation. My server seemed a bit new but was very patient and kind, especially since it took me a while to settle in and place my order. The manager also stood out -- very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout my visit. Food: Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the rest of the experience. It was underwhelming overall. Nice little breakfast spot in Downtown Toronto near The Raptors Arena. Outdoor seating with a nice view of the CN Tower as well! Vegan Spinach Omelet and Salmon was pretty good.

Service is friendly and attentive. Flavours are clean and delicious and dependable. .Noise level is quite high with lits of kids in the resto so be prepared , this wont be quiet dining :)

Great ambiance, all of their locations have good lighting and nice interior, perfect for cute brunch photos. Service was not bad, but I thought the orders took a while to come, and our salads look like they were tossed long time ago and isn't fresh anymore (see pictures). The dishes were very filling, and portions were big though.

Food and drinks were delicious. Service was good but timing was slow. Arrived for our reservation. Sat immediately. Server came to say hello. Came second time to get drink order. Came a third time to get our food order. Saw drinks at the bar for several minutes before we got them. Food arrived 55 minutes after we sat. Didn't see server for several minutes needing condiments. Finally got them after we were half way done. Food was great. Server was lovely just no hustle (but maybe that's the vibe?). I would go back but I'd order everything at first hello.

    Evviva Burger with French Fries

I really wanted to like this place because the space itself is beautiful and they have a solid vegan-specific menu, but unfortunately the experience didn't live up to the vibe. We were seated immediately, which was great, but service went downhill from there. It took a long time for someone to take our order, and even longer for the food to come out. I actually saw our dishes sitting at the counter for quite a while before they were brought over, so by the time we got them, my fries were soggy and the Evivva burger was already cold. The food itself was pretty underwhelming. The garden omelette had no salt at all, and the burger was pretty flavorless. Honestly, adding the aioli that comes with the omelette to the burger would've helped a lot. To top it off, our server seemed to forget about us entirely toward the end. We waited around 10 to 15 minutes just to get the bill after finishing. Overall, not a great experience. I would only consider coming back if I really needed vegan options and had no better alternatives.

Potatoes are good. Eggs and the steak was just meh. The steak was dry and a good chunk of it was too well done for medium rare. The mango sunshine smoothie just tasted ok. My wife said the eggs in the eggs benedict were overcooked. She said this place is overrated. Also while servers are sweet, the service is super slow.

The wait was a bit long. But the views from the restaurant are amazing! Great view of the CN tower. Our server was so patient and sweet with our elderly mom. The food was ok. The French toast was plain and dry. Pancakes were cold. The coffee tasted poorly I wouldn't recommend. The presentation was great the taste was mediocre

The almond croissant, when you're lucky enough to claim one before nine, delivers a genuinely impressive balance of shattering, buttery layers and a filling laced generously with almond cream, more Parisian in spirit than most bakeries attempting the same feat across this city. Even the raspberry version, when available, carries the same confident hand in the kitchen. The coffee program deserves equal praise. A well pulled latte and a properly balanced cappuccino suggest a team that treats espresso with the same seriousness as their pastry case, and it shows in the cup. Where the experience finds room to grow is in the choreography of the space itself. The room is petite, charming in its cobalt blue framed way, but the flow between ordering and pickup can feel cramped during a rush, and seating fills quickly. The patio, however, is a genuine reward, a shaded perch worth claiming on a slow afternoon. This is a cafe operating with real ambition and skill, let down only occasionally by its own popularity. Arrive early, claim a croissant while you still can, and settle onto the patio; you'll leave understanding exactly why regulars keep coming back.

The line moved quick, even though it wrapped around, we waited for about 20 minutes only. The menu has some cool items, a few fusion dishes and trendy items. Awesome presentation and definitely Instagram worthy. I got the huevos rancheros, it was more like an egg burrito with beans, sauce and potatoes on top. The potatoes were probably my favourite out of everything. It was good but not the traditional you would expect. My friends sadly did not like their eggs benedict. The coffee was also average, not very strong or fragrant. Service was absolutely terrible. Our sever took so long to come, we see him just chatting in the corner. It was hard to flag him down for anything. It was not a nice experience. The menu does have some other cool items I do want to try (pancakes and french toast)... so maybe I will give it another shot if I am in the area one day.

Very friendly service (server was Crystal). Sat outside and still was attended to attentively - typically worried that patio seating gets less attention but that wasn't the case here. The menu excited me as brunch usually is a choice between sweet or savoury, but they have various options with both. Got the Indecisive with the eggs poached medium ( would recommend soft for future or sunny side up). The pistachio latte was yummy but with the matcha pancakes it became too sugary of a meal. Overall a casual yet put together vibe. Great for friends, dates, solo, or family. Washrooms not the cleanest, but the dining area was good. Did notice a few more birds than typical patios (tried to eat our scraps as we were waiting for the bill).

And the DJ wasn't just putting music on shuffle either or just playing old hits, so at least there was effort. I split with someone else and tried the smoked salmon eggs benedict which had hollandaise with beet mixed in (hence the colour). It was really good and my only regret is waiting a few minutes to try it since I started with the pancakes first (more on that), but it meant the egg cooled down. But that's on me.
