Karine's supreme breakfast and the smoked salmon omelette
Victoria P.

I've been here twice now and it's a gem of a spot! They really make the food court, their own by serving you directly to your table and by putting out flowers. Ladies here are always so sweet calling you "dear" or "love" or "sweetie". They also have such a large menu that accommodates so many dietary restrictions. The food is fresh and both times have been given an extra treat free of charge! $20 for breakfast leaves you full for hours.

Tucked away in a little cafeteria-like setting, I had SUCH a good breakfast at Karine's. The açaí bowl was fresh and tasted amazing, with another side of fresh fruit not featured. Value of the meal (~$15) is insane, especially since the size of the bowl is pretty big. The woman who helped me at the front was also really kind and brought my order to my table. I'd go back here in a heartbeat if I'm in the area again.

Karine's was a go-to for me back in like 2011 and it's been many, many years since I came here for breakfast, well luckily that changed in June! I was in town with some friends and needed a vegan breakfast to start our day off and that's when the lightbulb went off and I remembered how good Karine's was. This place is located inside of a weird little food hall and the perfect place to grab a nice breakfast. The hall is absolutely massive and has a ton of seating, so you'll never have to worry about not having a place to sit. The menu here features a bunch of different styles of sandwiches, salads, omelettes, and various breakfast platters to choose from, one of the bigger selections I've seen from a place like this. I ended up ordering the Tuna Melt which came with fruit and french fries which I upgraded for garlic truffle fries. On top of the breakfast plate I already ordered some mixed juice drink that was kind of on the expensive side, but it was really good. The tuna melt was really freaking good and definitely hit the spot. The truffle fries were really good as well, and even though I didn't eat all of the fruits I enjoyed the ones I did get. My breakfast overall came to around $30 which is definitely expensive for a breakfast but I definitely upgraded the fries and ordered the most expensive drink possible, so yeah, in the future I'll just trim it down to just the breakfast. Overall, Karine's is one of the best Vegan breakfast spots in Toronto and is run by some of the friendliest people I've met in the city. The food here was really good, the staff was super friendly, and even though the prices aren't cheap, the quality and quantity are both top notch and you definitely won't regret checking this place out.

My husband and I have been to Karine's several times over the past month (March 2025) and we have thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. For a stand in the Village by the Grange food court, the service exceeds expectations. When you order from Karine's, you take a seat at one of the tables nearby and they wheel a trolley out with your meals served on real plates and cutlery. They will also personalize your meal. I wanted an egg white omelette instead of a regular omelette, no hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benedict and my salad dressing on the side, and they accommodated me. (Hmmm. I do sound kind of high maintenance.) They do amazing breakfasts and their pies are delicious. It is a family run business. Every time we have been there, we have been served by Marguerite (Maggie), whose daughter is Karine. Maggie has a big personality and an even bigger heart. If you go, say hi to Maggie.

The food was great ! Such a warm welcome from the staff I loved her energy. Place was inside a small food court but definitely worth the price and wait!

If this food was served in some hipstery bistro cafe off East West Queen West East there'd be a lineup around the corner on Sundays for brunch. Instead it's at the Village by the Grange food court serving mostly Art students. Food is fresh. It's Instagramably pretty. Quirky (in the best way) owner. If it wasn't here.. this would be one of the trendiest places in the city.

We walked here for 20 minutes and sadly neither of us could find anything that sounded appealing to me so onward we walked. Everything sounded either too light and not filling enough but pricey or too heavy and would have us both comatose the rest of the day, perhaps this place would be better for a lunch than a breakfast or brunch? I am sure the food would have been decent but nothing worked for either of us as far as options. I didn't feel like making my own breakfast meal and paying an arm and a leg for a la carte items. Anyways posted some pics of the place and their menu for others. It's inside of a indoor tunnel style plaza, didn't see any signage from the outside of the entrance at all. Not easy to find.

I had the tuna melt "with the works". Being my first time, i didn't know what that meant and i am glad i didnt ask before ordering (because it was really good), turns out some kind of tasty carrot slaw or salsa,.and other delightful if unusual sandwich toppongs like broccoli, topped off with generous amout of shredded and then melted cheese. The fruit is not just a garnish but lovely fresh and substantial. Only drawback for me is the fruit made the bagel kind of wet. I have worked in the area for a few years but somehow missed Karine's in the Grange. After 18 months of WFH i am back in the office and wandered over for lunch. I am not sure how i missed it before, they have a huge menu! I will definitely be back!

Going to a food court is usually not high on my list of places for good quality food. But Karine's is different and exceptional! I can only imagine she knows everyone who walks by. Wonderful person and great food. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a good breakfast at a great price.

Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

This cafe is small and while I was there it was definitely a tight squeeze. Where you order and where you pick up your drink isn't designed to allow for a good flow for customers, aside from that, I have no complaints. I ordered a latte and grabbed two goodies for the road, a raspberry croissant and a ginger molasses cookie. The staff working were welcoming and friendly and my items were ready rather quickly. Once I got back to my hotel, I settled in to enjoy and get some work done. My latte was smooth and creamy and just what I needed to get my day started. My raspberry croissant was beautiful and packed full of flavor. The filling wasn't too sweet and there was just the right amount inside. I saved my cookie for a snack while I traveled home later that day. I love how it had chunks of sugared ginger on top. The cookie had the perfect amount of chew to it and the ginger on top added an extra burst of ginger. It was lovely. I'm so glad I found this cafe on Yelp and I highly suggest you pay them a visit. I'm still dreaming of all the pastries I didn't get to try.

A quick Yelp check pointed me to this spot a brisk eight-minute walk from Queen Station on Yonge, and I'm so glad I made the detour instead of heading to one of my usual haunts. I was seated immediately. The place has lots of seating -- high tops, tables and booths -- and a cool, eclectic vibe: comfy chairs, interesting wall photos, eggshell light fixtures and cheerful yolk‑yellow and orange tones. Big glass windows make it a fun people‑watching spot, and the open kitchen lets you see the cooks hustling away. I ordered the classic breakfast (just over $18): two scrambled eggs -- soft and perfect -- plus herb potatoes fried in beef tallow (I swapped those for lightly dressed artisan greens). You choose your protein -- bacon, Canadian bacon, rosemary ham, chicken, or pork bangers -- and I went with the hardwood‑smoked bacon: three perfectly cooked slices. Coffee was ethically sourced, and my mochaccino hit the sweet spot -- not too sugary. All in all 10 out of 10. I plan to try their gluten free waffle next time. Extras worth noting: they offer booze, smoothies, juices, and a $4.75 "coffee bump" (1 oz of Irish cream, Kahlúa, whiskey, bourbon, brandy, or Grand Marnier). Eggs are free‑run. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable -- got me in and out without feeling rushed, back at my desk before 1 pm. I'll definitely be back -- next time with friends so I have an excuse to order everything on the menu. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a well‑made, comforting breakfast-anytime (and possibly a legal excuse for a midday coffee bump).
