I called a week ago to find out whether Karine's had holiday hours and worked my next visit around it. Previously, I had gone by myself and was so impressed, I took not just my family but invited my cousins and their families. Each family took turns ordering and they invited us to sit anywhere in the food court. In fact, the nice lady helped us move some tables so that we could sit together. Believe me, the tables weren't light. The meals came to us on a cart in the order the we ordered them. We didn't have to wait long. They made sure we had everything we needed, hot sauce, ketchup, syrup, napkins and cutlery. Everybody was surprised at the quality of the food and how upscale everything was. We got to use real forks, plates, etc. No one left hungry. As we were talking and enjoying our food, they came to us and presented us with a plate of cookies and other desserts that we weren't expecting, the kids loved it. The adults appreciated it. Oh I adore Karine's it's been years since I've been and the owner is still there and and just as friendly. Despite this place being inside the food court, the owner really goes above and beyond by delivering the food to your table when it's ready and even giving you bucket of condiments with it. It's also served over nice plate so you feel like you're getting the full brunch experience in a dine-in restaurant. Now on to the food, we got their huge platter the Supreme for $20 bucks which we can easily share between 2. No tax if you pay in cash too. I enjoyed that you can choose French toast or pancakes and it's like a classic breakfast but more elevated and stacked up with fresh fruit as well. I've been here twice now and it's a gem of a spot! They really make the food court, their own by serving you directly to your table and by putting out flowers. Ladies here are always so sweet calling you "dear" or "love" or "sweetie". They also have such a large menu that accommodates so many dietary restrictions. Karine's was a go-to for me back in like 2011 and it's been many, many years since I came here for breakfast, well luckily that changed in June! I was in town with some friends and needed a vegan breakfast to start our day off and that's when the lightbulb went off and I remembered how good Karine's was. This place is located inside of a weird little food hall and the perfect place to grab a nice breakfast. The hall is absolutely massive and has a ton of seating, so you'll never have to worry about not having a place to sit. The menu here features a bunch of different styles of sandwiches, salads, omelettes, and various breakfast platters to choose from, one of the bigger selections I've seen from a place like this. I ended up ordering the Tuna Melt which came with fruit and french fries which I upgraded for garlic truffle fries. On top of the breakfast plate I already ordered some mixed juice drink that was kind of on the expensive side, but it was really good. The tuna melt was really freaking good and definitely hit the spot. The truffle fries were really good as well, and even though I didn't eat all of the fruits I enjoyed the ones I did get. My breakfast overall came to around $30 which is definitely expensive for a breakfast but I definitely upgraded the fries and ordered the most expensive drink possible, so yeah, in the future I'll just trim it down to just the breakfast. Overall, Karine's is one of the best Vegan breakfast spots in Toronto and is run by some of the friendliest people I've met in the city. The food here was really good, the staff was super friendly, and even though the prices aren't cheap, the quality and quantity are both top notch and you definitely won't regret checking this place out. read more

My husband and I have been to Karine's several times over the past month (March 2025) and we have thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. For a stand in the Village by the Grange food court, the service exceeds expectations. When you order from Karine's, you take a seat at one of the tables nearby and they wheel a trolley out with your meals served on real plates and cutlery. They will also personalize your meal. I wanted an egg white omelette instead of a regular omelette, no hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benedict and my salad dressing on the side, and they accommodated me. (Hmmm. I do sound kind of high maintenance.) They do amazing breakfasts and their pies are delicious. It is a family run business. Karine is a very friendly and spirited woman, who is super energetic and enthusiastic! She served my friend and I at the counter, and it was lovely to interact with her. The spot is located within the Grange food court, and it's actually very cute how there are specific tables with coloured tablecloths designated for Karine's customers. My friend and I ordered two mains to share - and it was quite inexpensive for the portions! For less than $40 including tax and tip, we were fairly full by the end. We shared a smoked salmon eggs benedict with a side of salad, opting for the vegan gypsy dressing (rather than the traditional hollandaise), as well as pancakes with a side of potatoes, served with toast and the mushroom delight (a stir-fry of various vegetables, some chickpeas, mushrooms, tofu, etc). The vegan gypsy dressing was very interesting - it was kind of a tomato base. We were surprised to see that there was no ketchup for us to eat with our potatoes, but I found the home fries to be thoroughly seasoned with herbs and salt. The meal was very hearty and vegetable oriented; however, I did find it difficult to eat off the checkered paper lining the plates! The paper gets soggy with dressing, and so as we were cutting our food, we realized that paper would sometimes get mixed into the food and we'd unknowingly consume it. Overall, I can see why Karine's is super appealing to students. It's definitely great value, and the food is decent! However, the food is quite normal brunch fare, and I do believe that there are plenty of similarly-priced, more special and unique brunch options elsewhere. read more

I had the tuna melt "with the works". Being my first time, i didn't know what that meant and i am glad i didnt ask before ordering (because it was really good), turns out some kind of tasty carrot slaw or salsa,.and other delightful if unusual sandwich toppongs like broccoli, topped off with generous amout of shredded and then melted cheese.The fruit is not just a garnish but lovely fresh and substantial. Only drawback for me is the fruit made the bagel kind of wet. I have worked in the area for a few years but somehow missed Karine's in the Grange. I don't think I've ever written an online review for a restaurant before, but my meal from Karine's was so amazing that I just had to!! I was looking for a last-minute vegan meal before I headed into the AGO, and my maps directed me into this hidden food court. Karine was an absolute sweetie, and the vegan options were so plentiful! I got a vegan tofu benny with salad & lemonade, and Karine brought it out to me when it was ready. It was one of the BEST meals I've had, hands down. So flavourful, so fresh, such gorgeous presentation! The benny was incredible, the salad was delicious & had perfectly fresh berries, and there was beautiful fresh fruit slices on the side to top it off! The lemonade was gorgeous & so tasty as well. I had to tell them on my way out that it was one of the best meals, and I loved the family restaurant vibes. HIGHLY recommend going here if you're visiting from out of town like I was!! read more

5 stars for Karine as a business owner behind the counter and for her business of feeding the masses with quality all day breakfast! Though Karine's may not be open as late as other options in the Grange Food Court, what is lacking in convenience is made up for in quality. First off, this is the only place in the food court, to my knowledge, that serves "dine in" orders with reusable plates and utensils. So if environmentalism is important to you, Karine's is already ahead. Secondly and most importantly, the food here and the portions are amazing. For my first meal ever, I grabbed a vegetarian version of the Breakfast supreme. Not realizing tofu was available as a plant-based protein substitute, I asked to just get fries with my Supreme. To my surprise, Karine offered to not only give me the fries, but to also throw in a couple pieces of tofu. Even if the costs of these items all even out against the animal protein, I so appreciate the fact that she offered both, because it shows her spirit of generosity and her willingness to accommodate her customers. Everyone should also know that the tofu was delightful! Flavoured with some kind of a pepper/tomato sauce (not 100% certain), they were also topped with walnuts to give some contrast in texture. In short, I thought they were distinct and delicious and would go back for that alone. If you're not a vegetarian, but need accommodations of a different sort, for gluten allergies or sensitivities, Karine has you covered too, and in fact offers a tasty selection of desserts as well. All in all, I think Karine's is a gem of a place to dine and would recommend it to anyone who likes good service and good food! read more

M and I trekked all the way from richmond hill, parked at a nearby parking garage and set to find this place with google maps. Ok first of all it's in a building. It's also in a food court. The staff are really friendly and they asked what I liked...I mentioned I ate plant based and they showed me their gigantic vegan menu. I didn't like that my breakfast didn't come with toast ( I love bread). The mushroom delight side wasn't warm. The pancakes were to die for. I think they added cinnamon or something. They have little plastic cups to drink from but some of them are dirty. What turned me off was the people in the area ( there was a guy going thru the garbage looking for left overs. read more

I came here with my friend and I was surprised with the great service they gave. We both got the all day breakfast and she asked us if we wanted the daily juice, so we agreed because we thought it came with the food. Turns out it didn't and so altogether it came to be $30 but it was okay, the juice was refreshing to drink. We got to pick how we wanted our eggs, I liked mine poached. Ok where to start. Expectations were very high but fell so so short. First of all, it was in a food court. I had the Smoked Salmon Omelette. The toast that came with it wasnt toasted at all. The home fries were hard as rock and there was broccoli in the omelette. Now I'm totally for trying new things and all, but something's just don't work. I really dont understand the good reviews this place has. Plastic drinking cups that were dirty, debit machine down. Just a terrible experience overall. I tried Karine's supreme, with pancakes, two fried eggs, bacon and sausages, salad, and fruits. I enjoyed the light and fluffy pancakes, the salad with mustard(?) dressing, and can't go wrong with some over-easies. The bacon and sausages were extremely fried and lacked a bit of flavor in my opinion, maybe smoked salmon would've been a better choice of protein. If you are looking for a more filling version of the supreme, go with the French toast instead of pancakes, and fries instead of the salad. This was one of my favorite meals in Toronto! It's almost overwhelming to go to a place with so many good gluten free options - it took me forever to decide. My boyfriend and I ended up splitting the Florentine Benedict (spinach, mixed veggies, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce on gluten free bread with a side of garlic fries and fresh fruit) and the ful plate (spiced fava beans served with gluten free bread, hummus, salad, fresh fruit, and roasted vegetables) and the berry / banana smoothie. The portions were huge - we came starving and still couldn't finish. Everything was super fresh, flavorful and filling. My only negative note is that I believe we were overcharged for our meals but I was too overwhelmed in the moment to question the price. The Benedict and Plate were each listed as $11 and the smoothie as $4.50, so the total should have been roughly $26.50 plus tax. When the woman rang it up, she charged me $36. I should have questioned this price jump, but honestly, it was still a reasonable price for so much yummy food. I'd just warn others to be mindful while they're ringing you up! read more

Brunch at Karine's was nothing short of a spiritual experience. My friend and I were trying to plan brunch near the museums when visiting Toronto and I saw great reviews and beautiful food pics for this place, so we had to check it out. We got lost on McCaul before realizing Karine's is a booth hidden in an unsuspecting food court. Anyone would be convinced that Karine's is a three-dollar-sign, reservations-only restaurant based on the quality and presentation of the food. But counter-serve, fairly priced brunch is the move here. Also, Karine is an absolute sweetheart and her crew was really quick to serve up our orders. I was overwhelmed by the variety of vegan options on the menu and got the vegan special with a potato patty. I was pleasantly surprised to see that even this savory dish included the tons of sides - even a couple of pancakes, so I didn't miss out by not ordering one of the sweeter breakfasts. Everything was beyond delicious, holy cow. All meals are also served with fresh fruit, which is a thoughtful touch. The smoothies were super cheap (CAD $5). Mine was a PBC (peanut butter, banana, and chocolate) with soy milk. My friend got the berry smoothie, also excellent. We left Karine's feeling full and so happy. It's located in a food court, but there's a courtyard where you can sit in the sun. The menu has a large selection of items, and you have options such as toast or French toast, fries or salad, vegetarian, vegan or meat. There're enough options to satisfy your pickiest friends. There's also fresh juice to choose from. I got Karine's supreme with meat (bacon and sausage). It's pretty much the "want to eat everything" option.
