The food was delicious, just be sure that you're VERY explicit with any allergies to avoid exposure or any extra charges. We stopped in after seeing that the menu mentioned vegan options and being allergy friendly, since one of us is gluten free and one has a dairy allergy. We asked about dairy and gluten in the omelettes before we ordered and one of us got vegan cheese due to her dairy allergy. After a few minutes, she realized she forgot to triple check if they put milk in the eggs and went up to the counter to ask them. They said there was milk and they would remake it, but when we got the bill they charged an extra $11 for "vegan scrambled eggs". We were not told about any extra charge for the remake, and thankfully she had thought to go catch them and clarify even though she had been asking if there was dairy in things and said she had to make sure it was dairy free. We both understand the extra cost of remaking food and would have understood if they had told us! We appreciated them catering to our food allergies with yummy options and being friendly about it, we just were left disappointed by the lack of communication, especially at a restaurant that had allergy/vegan options clearly listed on their menu. read more

Popular and lively brunch spot on Queen West (west of Bathurst). Reservations are recommended on the weekend as it gets quite busy. I wish I could give a half point as I would rate as 3.5 stars. They have a patio area in the back and the restaurant itself has that old building vibe (fun but slightly tight quarters). The food is very good but service may be a bit slow during peak hours. We waited quite some time for beverages and had to request some items that didn't show up with our meals more than once. I had their Benny which was quite good (and they do offer a variety of flavors in it) but I wished for a bit more hollandaise sauce. Just seemed too little. Still tasted good (just could have been better). My friend had the pancakes which looked fantastic and she said were very tasty. read more

Stopped by Mission Eatery in Liberty Village for brunch after 11am with no reservation and enjoyed the experience. Their eggs Benedict are great -- perfectly poached eggs, with a nice option to choose your bread (highly recommend it on the croissant). The potatoes on the side were a delicious surprise -- crispy, well-seasoned, and a great complement to the dish. It comes with a small side of coleslaw. If I had one small note, it's that the Hollandaise sauce could have used a little more depth of flavor, but it was still enjoyable, and I'd absolutely order it again. We also tried the blueberry pancakes and they were beautiful and tasty. The presentation was beautiful -- totally Instagram-worthy -- and the dish was not overly sweet. The addition of ricotta both on top and in the batter gave it a light, creamy texture. Fair warning -- it's huge. I'd recommend ordering the pancake as an add-on if you're splitting that and a Benedict with someone, though you'll miss out on the gorgeous plating. That's if you aren't too hungry. I had been meaning to come here for ages, so I decided to finally bite the bullet and venture here. I made reservations since I am scarred by waiting in brunch lines during the weekend here, which ended up being a good call since it was quite small and packed inside. The service here was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was in the mood for some eggs benny, and decided to get it with the chicken and pear patty to switch things up. We went to The Mission Eatery for a girl's brunch after going to the Lip Lab. The food selection provided options for each of us who have crazy food allergies. Many of us tried to Rosti's and were surprised. When they first came out they reminded us of the hashbrowns at McDonalds. These had so much flavor. They are worth a try! I ordered the special salad and it was outstanding! I was confused about the hemp seeds as they looked like quinoa (a severe food allergy), but there were no hospital trips. The team there was very accommodating and helped to ensure our party was able to have good solid meals. I also ordered their blue matcha latte. I am borderline diabetic so I try to avoid eating processed sugar and they checked to make sure that the sugar in the coconut milk would be ok. I was thrilled that they asked! While the blue matcha was still very sweet for me, there were no negative effects. We dined in the restaurant which is very cozy. We were a party of seven so we truly took up the entire front of the restaurant. We did not see their patio dining as it was raining off and on. Cute little hidden gem. You can't tell from the exterior that this place is worth it, but definitely check it out. They have a back patio and serve weekday brunch. The menu is also pretty big. We got a regular iced latte, iced matcha latte, the omelette of the week (prosciutto, caramelized onions, and truffle) with a side of bacon and potato rosti. Everything on the menu was delicious. The truffle and caramelized onion combination was perfect and they also make all their sauces in house, including a nice veggie table ginger hot sauce which is available for purchase. I haven't written a review in years. Yet this place warrants and deserves a great review. The staff and chef were wonderful. The food was AMAZING. We sat near the big open window up front and enjoyed the wonderful early evening breeze. The background music was pleasant. My husband ordered the Queen's salad. Every vegetable was fresh and identifiable by taste, not just sight, unlike most salads which tend to be a mishmash of flavors. Not here. Delicious, distinctive, and leaves you wanting more. They know how to liven a Cesar Salad. Yes, this seems like such an obvious and boring choice, but it was delicious and had two almost-hard-boiled eggs. Never saw that before in this type of salad, but it added to the experience. We tried the Japanese beef sandwich with caramelized onions on a baguette. Wow, just... wow. So delicious that even people who don't like onions loved it. LOVED it! As for drinks, the mango lassi tasted like they ran mangoes through a juice presser before serving it. The yogurt did not overpower the fruit. Never knew a mango lassi could be so yummy. My favorite was the coconut latte. They used coconut cream to make the coffee sweet. Out of this world. Never had anything like it. And the flavor remained light and fresh. That being said, we did have to wait a bit for our food. But it was worth it. I understood afterward that you cannot rush a delicious meal. So be patient and be ready to enjoy! I didn't know what to expect, but I'm so glad we walked in. I stopped by here for brunch instead of another restaurant down the street I was planning to go to. This place is new and the the menu looked really good so I decided to give it a try and I'm happy that I did. The brunch menu is a selection of brunch classics but with a twist. I ordered the eggs Benedict with beet cured trout which had a very nice yuzu hollandaise sauce. I like that you have a choice of three different kinds of breads for the base of the Benedict. I went with the citrus dill soda bread which went well and dense enough to hold up to the sauce and yolks. There was was a small apple fennel slaw on the side which was nice, but I thought it needed more acid to it like lemon or vinegar. I also ordered the Mission Ice Tea which was a jasmine green tea and it had ice cubes with jasmine and flower pedals in it which looked and tasted really good. The great thing about this place is that they offer brunch all week long! The service was really fast and the staff are very attentive and friendly. The patio in the back is really nice (and not on the side of a dirty and noisy street like many patios) where you can enjoy your meal in peace and quiet instead of subjecting to blaring car horns, sirens and crazy people yelling (there are a lot on Queen Street). Long overdue review from the Summer! Was searching for a new brunch spot and came across Mission Eatery. They have a cute patio in the back. We ordered the Avocado Melt, Crab Cake Benny, Pineapple Coffee and Jasmine Coffee. The Avocado Melt Omelette was beautiful and perfectly cooked. The bread was super tasty. The Benny was cooked well and crab cake was delicious. We decided to be adventurous and tried their unique iced coffees. They were pretty tasty and different! I would recommend. Soba noodles and iced tea are the bomb! Took my wife here to refresh on a hot day, the sun really came out of nowhere. The servers were nice and accommodating. The menu is fun to pick from and at first glance it seams super healthy for most people but my wife has quite a strict diet- We added shrimp to the Queen salad for her but the shrimp came out full of butter and the cauliflower roasted in lots of oil which most people would think is delicious- just a preference we were not clear about. She ate it anyways and it was tasty. I got a chocolate cookie on the way out it was tasty but not fresh. Really want this place to do well. read more

Had Fried Chicken & Waffle, along with their drip coffee. All very tasty! While good coffee is key to any breakfast place, I was especially impressed with the Mission's. The chicken was crispy, boneless, and topped with jalapeño slices and pickled red onion. The waffle was toasted well and held the maple syrup even when cut. The service was friendly and attentive, the south-facing dining area flooded in warm sunlight, and a French cafe-music selection played in the background.
