Well, it's been over 8 years since I've been here. A rare opportunity into this part of town is what prompted me to visit what I remembered to be a really good diner. And I'm happy to report that Rise & Dine still lives up to its stars. This place hasn't aged one bit. Most importantly, the service is still fast & friendly. Came on a Sunday morning with a friend and it was packed. Thankfully we only had to wait for around 5 minutes to get a table. The service is very efficient and the waitresses were very nice. I ordered an apple pie french toast which was very delicious and filling! Though its rare for me to leave a restaurant full, this dish did it. It was reasonably priced as well ($14). When we arrived in Toronto we wanted to grab some breakfast first. This was the first place we visited when we arrived and let me tell you, when people say Canadian people are nice, this place lived up to that! Every single employee was superrrrrr nice. And not super nice to suck up for a tip, but genuinely very nice. My kids got some crayons and placemats to color. And one gentlemen came over and gave our son a coupon for a free ice cream for the ice cream parlor next door. Everyone went above and beyond! And now the food. Super delicious and portions are huge! We checked out this place for breakfast the other day. Great food! I do not know why we never went there before but if you want a great brekkie with lots of options then look no further than Rise and Dine. Note. There is on site parking but due to their location it can be a bit of a challenge to get into their parking lot. I had the bacon and eggs and hubby had the salmon scramble. I felt deceived by the good reviews.. I dined in for lunch on a Saturday. The restaurant was full when I got there around noon but it took us less than 10 mins to get a table. The waitresses were very friendly but unfortunately, the food was below our expectations. We ordered fried chicken waffles with home friend potatoes, avocado bennies and berries crepe. Fried chicken waffles were the only decent dish but it was nothing special. Avocado bennies were sooooo saggy and kinda tasteless regardless of so many ingredients. Berries crepe was out of the question. It is not a crepe in the first place - it is a thin pancake. It had a weird sweetness flavour (probably condensed milk?). We only ate the berries. It did not take long to get a seat on a Sunday Morning, what a way to start off! We were barely seated and had already had a drink order. The menu has everything thing you could crave for all ages so bring the Fam. My Wife and I placed our order and by the time my Wife had visited the ladies rest room the food was on the table. Wow. Ate our meals at 7am and still full at 5pm! This place is awesome. Friendly service at a nice neighbourhood spot. I've ordered from here a few times as a delivery during covid, but now I finally had a chance to go into R&D now that things are reopen. Must say, it's totally worth it. They have everything from standard breakfasts, to bennys and waffles and crepes. This time, I opted to get a waffle. Ordered "berry boy" and "strawberry shortcake" waffles. The cream cheese icing is totally worth it. It was a huge waffle with plenty of berries, also maple syrup on the side if you choose to add some more sweetness. For any coffee lovers, they have nice large glasses (I love larger mugs), and also have decaf coffee option if you prefer. For anyone driving, they do have a small parking lot on the side of the building. read more

Ordered Uber Eats from here to my hotel and I have to say, I was quite pleased with the quality of my breakfast. To be more specific, I ordered 3 eggs of any style with a choice of bacon, sausage or ham. Nothing fancy. The scrambled eggs tasted great, not rubbery, which is what you want. You can also substitute fruit for the home fries if you wish. The food was also made quite quick. Since I only ordered Uber Eats, this review will not cover anything related to service or the overall ambience of the restaurant. Hopefully I will be able to experience that someday! read more

Very friendly service and a decent setting for a greasy spoon. Lots of families and neighbourhood folk, and no line up, lots of tables for a Saturday morning, but unfortunately the food here is very uninspired. We ordered a corn beef hash, a benedict, and a classic, and they were fine, but the home fries are frozen/deep fried from a package and the corned beef hash was just the home fries, some corned beef that was from a deli and then a few fried eggs on top, and the server sort of explained that, but it was the laziest corned beef hash I've seen in a while. The benedict didn't have any flair at all, from my view it was just a pile of sauce. The classic seemed to be the best thing we ordered, you can't really go wrong with that and I regretted ordering the hash. I'd say if you were close by and needed a place for breakfast you could go here and order a classic and be satisfied, but if you are looking for really tasty food you should go somewhere else. read more

The friendliest mom and pop shop around. It never takes long to get a table, and it always shocks me how fast the food is. The wait staff is incredibly kind. The place is very clean. The food is great, I love that there's so many options that they have. They're eggs Bennie's, breakfast poutine, sandwiches and pancakes are some of my favourite. Specials come with 3 eggs, 2 slices of buttered toast, home fries and bacon OR sausage OR ham (coffee not included). Hubby thought the sausages were salty and I thought they were a little dry. The bacon was smoky with edges slightly crisp: this is how my son likes it, I prefer it more crispy. Eggs were cooked perfectly, home fries were better this time around. Gotta add extra points for having orange marmalade for the toast. Coffee is Colombian, very mild. Tom was a doll, attentive and sociable and even wrapped up my leftovers himself. My favourite brunch restaurant by FARRRR. If you are an avid Torontonian bruncher then you know what exorbitant prices some restaurants charge just for some pancakes and the opportunity to take some fancy Insta pics of these pancakes. Rise & Dine gives you the best of both worlds - some amazing looking food but at amazing prices. I've tried quite a few different items on their menu and almost everything is delicious. If you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth I recommend their Blueberry Pancakes. Otherwise dip into your savoury side with their breakfast plates. I like to order from the Classics section. No matter what you get you will feel stuffed afterwards. The portions are massive. You will probably spend $20 per person after tax and tip. Pretty cheap considering I've seen brunch restaurants end up costing double that price for less food. Staff are very quick and friendly. Keep up the amazing work Rise & Dine! read more

This place is great. If you want a simple bacon and eggs breakfast, you can get it. If you want some crazy waffles, they have lots of choice. The menu is large like many diner type places, but it's not crazy or out of control. While not a large place, they had no problem seating our group of ten. One of our group had some dietary restrictions and they easily handled the special requests. Very happy to see this place open. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Fantastic prices, huge portions, and great tasting food! My "Megas" Eggs Benedict with spinach and feta was incredible. The 3 eggs were perfectly poached and the Hollandaise sauce wasn't too rich. The waffles and crepes were both excellent. Lots of fruit and fresh whipped cream. It wasn't very busy when we got there at 9 am, but it was getting busier by the time we left. This location is cursed for restaurants. We have seen so many places come and go. Very happy to have this place open up. The corner of St Clair and O'Connor seems to be cursed. We saw a pizza place closed down (great food), a chinese/Japanese close shop after 1/2 year...we were really hoping for a new restaurant in this area for lunch varieties. So far we have been doing takeouts so i can't comment on intetior and services but it seems to be fairly busy....and the food is delicious Large portion...your typical comfort food with breakfast option all day (right now they only open till 3pm to test the water). It's cute that they named their items after movie stars and there's so many options of pancakes and waffles that I couldn't wait to try. Today I had their daily special pork souvlaki in a pita with French fries. The pita was a bit crispy and the pork chunks were moist with the right about if tsiziku sauce, red onions and feta cheese. The French fries were a little bit on the soft side... they were not salty but it's probably better for your health anyways. Co-worker had pumpkin pancake- no comments from her but she finished everything. We hope this place will stay open. We will definitely come back to support this local business! read more

Stopped in for breakfast-for-lunch the other day. The waitress was really lovely and very helpful (SO friendly). I ended up getting the classic with bacon & sausage (which the waitress was kind enough to split between the two for me) and it was delicious. The homefries were quite yummy - and I'm a bit picky on that - and the eggs were cooked perfectly. And it was only $8.50. In terms of value for your buck, this place is great. Came here around 10am on a cloudy fall Sunday with friends who live up the road and are regulars. We waited 5-10 mins for a table, which is fine. The place has maybe 20 tables max? Not small, not huge. Lots of kids there FYI. Just a simple family restaurant. Standard service. Huge menu. I tried the Montreal Smoked Meat Scrambler (w caramelized onions, green pepper, swiss cheese). It was good but definitely felt more like a western omelette in looks, texture and taste. Finally happy to have found a yummy brunch place close to home! Not lots of parking available in the lot but the restaurant itself was very spacious and clean! The staff are very accommodating and diligent to ensure your coffee cup is never empty. We both ordered bennys (one with peameal bacon and the other with smoked salmon) was able to substitute potatoes for fruit. Prices were very reasonable and love that it is close to home. A lot of variety available- excited to try other dishes off the menu next visit. Food was fresh and served to us in reasonable time. Definitely on our list now of regular places to eat! read more

I had lunch here with my parents (they are regulars) this afternoon and was very satisfied with the food and excellent service. They both had waffles with fruit on top and I -- a guy that likes to live life on the edge -- decided to be audacious and try something exotic; so I ordered a hamburger with fries. All patties are made fresh (as opposed to premade/frozen patties). The burger was juicy with a nice, light, crispy char on top. The fries seemed as though they were cooked a little longer than usual; which I actually liked, as they were soft, but had pleasant crisp to them. Our meals were literally in front of us within 5 minutes of ordering. We were in and out of the restaurant in no more than 15 or 20 minutes. If you want a quick, freshly made meal, I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

This place is such a welcome change for the area. Such a great location and nobody has found any success there... Until NOW! The guys running this place have made an incredible transformation here. It's a fun, sleek and cool place. That menu, whoever designed it, is a genius! So many wonderful things, I will be here enjoying many of these different items. From crepes to waffles and peameal bacon to chicken sausages, these guys know breakfast and their lunch selection is incredibly priced. All those ridiculous chain places offer a cookie cutter breakfast and lunch, time to go diner style again and take care of the people of this city. I'm so tired of getting ripped off with other places, you know the names. I have to order two breakfasts to eat there and pay more than a dinner out. All I can say is, this place is wonderful. Great Breakfast/Lunch spot This location has seen it's turn over. Nothing ever stuck, but Rise and Dine is hopefully here to stay. Literally have zero complaints. I live close by and eat in and get take out often. The wait time is 10 mins tops on takeout and dining in has always been pleasant. The staff are awesome & the food is awesome! Pesonal faves, The DiNero AND The Balboa Also the Polish poutine. My daughter (8 yrs), also loves the food. Only suggestion I have, to get some SRIACHA SAUCE But that's a personal preference.
