Loved everything about this place! The drinks were phenomenal, especially if you get them with oatmilk. The food was great. The Benny with avocado was soft and flavorful since they use a croissant as the base and top it with creamy hollandaise sauce. The ambience was wonderful, very much cute cafe brunch vibes. The interior is a bit small so I wouldn't go with a large party of 5 or more. I wouldn't get the french toast again since it was quite dry and made with a baguette that was hard to bite through. The flavors were all there; but wouldn't recommend if you like traditional eggy toast.

I've been going here a few times now and the quality of the food and service is always consistently good! I ordered I ordered multiple things off the menu, but my constant order that always draws me back is the iced matcha latte. It has a strong alive flavour it always brings me!

This is the kind of place that makes me wish I lived in the neighbo(u)rhood! The DeCourses Café is an intimate little spot that provides delicious breakfast items in a beautiful little dining area. The staff are amazing and provide fast and high quality service. The menu items are incredible from food to drink. We ordered a couple of crêpes, chocolate croissants, and some delicious lattes. We can't wait to come back! It's awesome. Enjoy.

Had the Flat White, great coffee, great service, great cozy cafe with breakfast lunch pastry options. My girlfriend had the turmeric latte and French toast.

    Pinoy Eggs Benedict

The food was pretty good! Those pinoy sausages were the best thing to have on a croissant eggs Benedict. I could have done without the salad. I don't mind greens, but they were flavourless and only came with like 2 strawberry slices and 2 pecans and like 0 dressing. Maybe a bit more hollandaise, to dip those bomb potatoes into. The iced latte was good but I don't know if those black flecks were espresso particles or vanilla beans from the syrup. I like the atmosphere a lot, and the masala chai latte was really good. I know they're hard working young people who are often overwhelmed by the numbers they serve, but I didn't love the wait time (felt like I waited 25 minutes, saw people who arrived after me get their food before me. That is always frustrating)

Caramel latte with oat milk to go

Can never go wrong with this place. My favourite spot for a caramel latte with oat milk. For a bite to eat, I recommend eggs Benny on a croissant with longanisa or any of the savoury crepes. The place is really clean, the staff are super nice and respectful if all the usual Covid precautions.

Grilled cheese (very oily with tiniest amount of cheese)

Confused. This place is high rated so I was expecting a better experience. Ordered a grilled cheese and breakfast sandwich with soup (as the menu offers). The waitress said they don't do soup as it wasn't popular but ok. Ordered just a sandwich. Both sandwiches were bland, just oily pieces of white bread with very little cheese and filling. Not worth the calories. Also ordered an almond milk cappuccino and asked twice for almond milk and somehow still got oat cappuccinos. Although it was really good, it was not what we ordered...

9" breakfast sandwich (with avocado added), and a matcha latte with coconut milk.

Came here on a whim and can say this is now going to be one of my favourites! I got the 9" breakfast sandwich with a matcha latte (with coconut milk), and it was extremely delicious! The bread was fresh baked there, and was toasted perfectly with the perfect balance of cheese:egg:meat ratio. The latte was pretty good too, and my boyfriend got an iced cold brew with vanilla and it was also very good (it didn't have that artificial vanilla taste come flavoured coffees have). The prices were also very reasonable, as two hefty sized meals and two drinks (I also added avocado and customized my drink) only came to a bit over 30 bucks. The atmosphere was also nice and seemed very clean inside. It was also neat that the kitchen where they prepare food was out in the open so you could see them making it. The servers were very friendly as well and were patient with my indecisiveness lol Will definitely be coming back!

I love this cozy place! Their bakery is fresh and tasty! Whenever I go there I order Avo Benny and Gothic Latte! You should try these! Yum!! It's not busy usually and you can easily find a table!

Cute small quiet brunch place! Great customer service! Very personable and outgoing. No parking so park on the side streets. The food was fresh and flavourful. Good portions and great prices. Clean! Vegan options available! Amazing iced vanilla coffee and espresso!

I can see what they're trying to do here. Cute hipster cafe, a variety of menu items you would more likely see at a brunch spot in Queen West, Insta-worthy lattes (like the Gothic Latte with activated charcoal), etc. But, for me - while I understood the concept and saw what they were trying to strive for, I think execution itself fell a bit flat. We visited on a Saturday morning while it was relatively busy - there's a good amount of seating, free WiFi, and a variety of menu items to choose from. We ordered the Avo Maria (avocado toast with sweet potatoes and pomegranates), a sweet potato benny, and a Gothic latte. With tip, we paid around $29. Honestly - I saw the vision of what they *wanted* the dishes to be (think of the pizzaz of Early Bird downtown), but the dishes themselves felt really rushed, lacked the flavour I was expecting, and overall execution felt uninspired. The Avo Maria looked and felt like something that could have been made at home (and while there's nothing wrong with that, I'm not sure if that's what they were going for). The one item that really stood out to us was the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benny - savoury, flavourful perfection. Otherwise, everything else we had was just fine, but not extraordinary. For those wondering - I got my Instagram photo of the Gothic latte obviously, but besides that, if you're looking for depth, the coffee doesn't shine through as much as espresso lovers would like. I'd come back here and give it another chance one day, and it's always nice to have cute cafe options in the west end - overall, average with room for improvement, but a decent enough experience that I'd come back.

    Americano & hazelnut Cappuccino

I feel so lucky that attend the college campus right beside this place, as it's one of the best cafe's I've ever been to (and I've been to quite a few!). Not pictured were a piece of banana bread and a massive croissant which were both incredibly delicious--by the time I thought to take a picture there were only crumbs. Aside from the food being fresh and delicious, I'm a huge cappuccino fan but have learned that they're very hit or miss depending on the place. DeCourses café truly makes one of the best cappuccinos I've had, and has a lot of different flavours that can be added (I recommend hazelnut!). Anyways, I'm definitely a fan of this place and plan to go many times in the future. I think the prices are fair for the quality and size of the food and drinks ordered, and they have quite a big menu compared to other cafés.

Gothic latte. Made with activated charcoal
    Kristian U.

Cute little café that opened up recently replacing several other failed businesses in this very same location. The failures of the others really doesn't make sense as this location is kiddie corner to Humber College Lakeshore Campus, and a massive neighbourhood of young professionals and young families within walking distance. The failings of DeCourses predecessors maybe had to do with their choice in odd operating hours and lack of service. I do not predict DeCourses having the same issues as they offer EXACTLY what students and young families are looking for; good coffee, tasty fresh treats, all day breakfast and wholesome quick meal options (oh and bubble tea). If the gents working the counter were the owners they're young, energetic and eager, if not then they've hired really really well - these guys were awesome. The design is so trendy, it really steps the area up quite a bit, and instead of the rustic industrial charm that most spots seem to overdo now, the've gone with a more modernist/minimalist approach and it totally works! They've got an extensive menu with lots of hot sandwich options, crepes and baked goodies to go along side an impressive coffee menu. I went with a freshly baked croissant which was HUGE and a unique latte option they have called a Gothic Latte which uses activated charcoal in the brewing process for a kick and cleansing effect. The croissant was amazing, so buttery and flakey, wow. And the charcoal/gothic latte was so black but surprisingly easy drinking and tasted great! They've got this figured out! I hope this place lasts, it's really a great neighbourhood coffee joint and I look to spend many afternoons here in the future Eatcrest out!

Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. I ordered a latte and grabbed two goodies for the road, a raspberry croissant and a ginger molasses cookie. The staff working were welcoming and friendly and my items were ready rather quickly. Once I got back to my hotel, I settled in to enjoy and get some work done. My latte was smooth and creamy and just what I needed to get my day started. My raspberry croissant was beautiful and packed full of flavor. The filling wasn't too sweet and there was just the right amount inside. I saved my cookie for a snack while I traveled home later that day. I love how it had chunks of sugared ginger on top. The cookie had the perfect amount of chew to it and the ginger on top added an extra burst of ginger. It was lovely. I'm so glad I found this cafe on Yelp and I highly suggest you pay them a visit. A quick Yelp check pointed me to this spot a brisk eight-minute walk from Queen Station on Yonge, and I'm so glad I made the detour instead of heading to one of my usual haunts. I was seated immediately. The place has lots of seating -- high tops, tables and booths -- and a cool, eclectic vibe: comfy chairs, interesting wall photos, eggshell light fixtures and cheerful yolk‑yellow and orange tones. Big glass windows make it a fun people‑watching spot, and the open kitchen lets you see the cooks hustling away. I ordered the classic breakfast (just over $18): two scrambled eggs -- soft and perfect -- plus herb potatoes fried in beef tallow (I swapped those for lightly dressed artisan greens). You choose your protein -- bacon, Canadian bacon, rosemary ham, chicken, or pork bangers -- and I went with the hardwood‑smoked bacon: three perfectly cooked slices. Coffee was ethically sourced, and my mochaccino hit the sweet spot -- not too sugary. All in all 10 out of 10. I plan to try their gluten free waffle next time. Extras worth noting: they offer booze, smoothies, juices, and a $4.75 "coffee bump" (1 oz of Irish cream, Kahlúa, whiskey, bourbon, brandy, or Grand Marnier). Eggs are free‑run. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable -- got me in and out without feeling rushed, back at my desk before 1 pm. I'll definitely be back -- next time with friends so I have an excuse to order everything on the menu. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a well‑made, comforting breakfast-anytime (and possibly a legal excuse for a midday coffee bump).
