Great drink choices + a variety of different options, including vegetarian. Highly recommend to start your day off with Buka Maranga!

We came here since we were in the area. The cafe has amazing ambiance and more than average full breakfast options. I really liked their Avocado Toast and Beet Latte. They have extended patio as well. The service is courteous. Pro Tip - don't forget to visit the Buddhist Temple next to this cafe!

Lox Bagel With A Fried Egg

I saw many wonderful reviews about this place, and knew that I had to try it. Upon walking into this lovely little cafe, I instantly felt comfortable, with an open-air feel that made me feel warm and welcome. We had gone on a Friday at around 1 pm, and almost every table was full. It wasn't too loud, as the airy ambience lessened the volume of the many voices in the room. When we went up to the counter, I noticed the menu posted to the front, and chose my items. The servers were very knowledgeable and friendly, even going into the back to ask the kitchen if a specific ingredient was in the soup that my mother had ordered. They both had a smile on their faces, and seemed to enjoy serving the customers. The place was also very clean and inviting, with tables cleared quickly. The food was definitely top-notch; you knew that it was homemade after one bite. I had ordered the Lox Bagel With A Fried Egg, along with the Elderberry Hibiscus Lemonade. I was able to choose what kind of bagel I wanted, while a large amount of topics were placed on the smoked salmon in an open-faced layout. My mother had the Chicken Avocado Handheld with the Beef Mediterranean Soup, along with the Turmeric Gold Latte. She also raved about how delicious everything was. Overall, stunning cafe, one of the best that I've been to in a long time. This cafe values their integrity through homemade food, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere. You could tell that the people who work here really care about the customers, and want to create a wonderful visit for all, from start to finish. Will DEFINITELY be back, and will rave about this place to everyone that I talk to!

Lavender Blue Matcha Latte

I love the play on words here since it translates to "dying of hunger." We came with a friend who takes care of the orchids along the window sill and enjoyed walking in through their open patio. I didn't personally try the coffee here but I heard from 3 others in my party that the coffee was so smooth and some of the best they've had. I ordered a lavender blue matcha latte and thought it was both frothy and yummy. The smell reminded me of fruit loops but wasn't too sweet and had a lovely smooth texture. We ordered a Kough Amon and a cheese danish for a snack. The owner was sweet and came over for a chat and gave us a history lesson of the soorj drink on the menu which looks like Turkish coffee but is authentic Armenian coffee. Would recommend for a nice cafe study/work spot or a chill hang out for an afternoon pick me up.

Just needed a coffee so looked up cafe. They have wonderful reviews. So I gave them a try. Pleasant staff and food options. Today place is packed and lots of chatty vibes. A little too much for me. So a take out.

I love this place. It's homey, has a nice ambiance, sweet staff and delicious food. In one week alone, I ate there nearly every day! Tried a few different types of sandwiches; BBLT, Turkey, Chicken Avocado and all were accompanied by a garden salad and a tasty balsamic vinaigrette dressing. In addition to this, I've taken friends with me. They had superfood bowls that looked as delicious as I was told they tasted. Bakery selection is also yummy. I have yet to try their croissants. Certainly will on a colder day with a cup of joe in hand.

Matcha latte

This place has never failed to amaze me and it's already my third time coming back here. I'm also a picky eater when it comes to eating salads but theirs salads here are really good I had to leave a review! Everything is fresh and quickly handed to you. There is a self serve for the water and some condiments by the entrance. Very happy to see they're open Sundays now, I'll be bringing my friends here.

The perfect cafe spot for hanging out with your friends! Buka Maranga has a rustic-industrial vibe with plants all around, making it cozy and relaxing. We went on a weekday, but it was so busy. They serve housemade bagels, and of course, we had to try them. We ordered the bacon sunrise omelette, which came with a bagel, potatoes, and omelette. The bagel was fresh and chewy, the potatoes were perfectly seasoned and crispy and the omelette was filled with cheese. However, my favorite was the Lox bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, and pickled onions. It was incredibly delicious. Their lavender matcha latte was also worth trying; it was so pretty and tasted so good. I also wanted to try their croissants, but they were mostly sold out, with only one left. I'll definitely try it next time.

First off, open patio at the Brampton/Mississauga border??! And more importantly, fresh-baked breads, bagels and other goodies from the kitchen. And let me finally add the great service /attention to detail especially from the manager that day (Ari? Adi?? Sorry, old brain. :)) in a well-organized and clean setting, bravo, Buka Maranga. And thank goodness for my Google cafes nearby recommendation that day! Will definitely become a regular if they keep this craziness up!

Cocoa crave power smoothie

Two Saturdays ago, I met up with three friends for lunch. One of them suggested that we come to Burka Maranga. She frequents this location often for dinner and lives close by. We decided to meet here, as it's a midpoint for another friend and me. I got here a few minutes before 1 pm. I seem to be the punctual person out of our group. One of them texted me after I had backed into a parking spot that they'd be twenty minutes late. I said that I'd go grab a table, which seems to be my norm. I found a table and plopped my stuff down. I then sat down and one of my friends had arrived. Another table closer to the window had opened up. We moved over there. A staff member helped us move two tables together and clean the tables off, which was nice. We chatted until the other two had arrived. The way things work at this eatery is that you order at the counter, pay, get a number marker, and sit down. Your order comes to you. The tough part was deciding what I wanted to eat. I love bagels and this place makes its own bagels. I have a weakness for bagels. The menu had a big hero sandwich, is which a meatball sandwich. I have a bigger weakness for meatballs, so I had to get it. It came with either soup or salad. As much as I have been on a salad kick as of late, I love soup and ordered the yellow split pea. I also got a cocoa crave smoothie, which is dairy-free. We got back to our table and chatted some more. Our food came, starting with the drinks. The cafe latte that two of my friends had ordered looked pretty. They were happy with how it tasted and looked. I got my cocoa crave smoothie. It was delicious. I am considering coming back just for this smoothie alone. My big hero sandwich with soup had arrived. The sandwich wasn't cut through, so it took some effort to break it apart without a knife. Anyway, once I got that completed, I took a bite. The meatballs were flavourful and yummy. They tasted homemade and weren't overly salty, which I appreciated. The bread was chewy and perfect. I loved everything about this sandwich. The yellow split pea soup was amazing. It was comforting, with little cubes of celery and carrots. I loved the contrast between the velvety smooth yellow split pea soup and the diced veggies. It was excellent. One of my friends got the same meal as I did, except that she went with a side salad. It looked gorgeous and yummy. She enjoyed it. One of our friends is Muslim. We called beforehand to ask whether the chicken was halal. It was. Yay! She got the parmesan chicken sandwich with a Caesar salad and thoroughly polished the former off in a heartbeat. She had some salad left over and had it boxed up. Our other friend got the rustic rice and legumes bowl. She added a hard-boiled egg. It looked so pretty and enticing. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal and said that she would definitely order it again. This place does catering. We saw a huge cheese, fruit, and cracker platter behind us. It looked so nice that I had to snap a photo. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I paid using a credit card and was fine. The washrooms are on the left side of the restaurant when you first walk in. It was nicely maintained and clean. Parking does get busy on weekends. I didn't have any problem finding a spot. I had a great time here. I'd come back again for more yummy food. (100)

Seriously this is one of the most spectacular meals I've ever had. Citrus quinoa bowl and veggie florentine omelette.
Suehaila A.

This food is absolutely spectacular! One of the most delicious meals I've ever had. The location is lovely, filled with sunlight, positive vibes, and a very diverse crowd. The menu options are fabulous, healthy and everything was full of flavor! I wish I lived closer though next time I'm in town, this will definitely be a return spot! It was absolutely delicious.

I recently ate my entire stash of bagels from both trips. The good news is that Kettleman's is coming to Etobicoke this fall. I still needed bagels, though. I headed to my local grocery store recently to get some. They weren't and aren't the same. On Saturday, I visited St. Urbain bakery and cafe, which makes a variety of Montreal-style bagels. I was in heaven looking at roughly a dozen different bagel flavours at the back of the store. A older woman asked what I'd like. She didn't come across as being warm. I asked for six sesame and six cheddar bagels. She said that it was $0.25 more for each cheddar bagel. I was good with that, although she didn't wait for me to acknowledge that I was good with it. I got all bagels in a paper bag. Yay! I thanked her. I was so happy. I felt like I had won the lottery, except that I had to pay for my goods. This bakery offers cakes, cookies, flatbreads, and more. I decided to simply get my bagels before I cleaned my entire chequing account out at this store. The woman at the counter was much more personable. She put my goodies in a plastic bag and threw in a couple of bagel bags. I used my debit card to pay. Credit cards aren't accepted. You can pay with cash, too. I have had both bagel varieties since my visit. They are soft and chewy where they should be. The cheddar is brilliant and yummy. I've never had a cheddar one before until now. It's worth shelling out a bit to have one. There is something about crispy, oven-melted cheddar that tastes delicious. I made myself an egg salad sandwich today. Some like celery in it. I do, but changed it up with green onion. It's so good with the sesame bagel. This bakery is in a plaza with parking all around it. There's a huge Starbucks cafe a couple of doors down, so it does get busy. I parked on the opposite side of where this bakery is and walked over. I'm glad that I can get my fix without doing a huge road trip out east. I am thrilled that I have found this bagel place. I am a happy Montreal-style bagel fan. (374)

I normally get the Rosemary bagel but this time I went with a classic everything bagel. The cream cheese is delicious on it's own, but throw in fresh smoked salmon, red onion and dill - it's unreal! Looking back on my photos, it doesn't seem like there is much filling inside. I can assure you the cream cheese: other ingredient ratio is equal and even! Personally I'd recommend the cinnamon sugar for sweet lovers and rosemary sea salt for those wanting savoury. Their cream cheese options are also great. So far we've tried the roasted red pepper, sun-dried tomato, herbs and garlic, maple, and blueberry. All have been good and paired well with the different bagel flavours. My second delivery order I added a breakfast sandwich and it was good. Nothing too out of the box or outstanding about it but like everything else here, it's good. One thing I will say is I ordered my second order for delivery at around 11 am on a Wednesday. At that point, they'd already sold out of coconut bagels and poppy seed bagels. It was a bit disappointing but they did make a point to call to determine how I wanted to replace those and then sent a card for 10% off my next purchase in-store.
