Talk about hidden gems...I stumbled across this place while shopping at Longos, and am I glad I did! Its a cute Italian bakery that has been around for almost 40yrs! Believe or not it took me until 2022 to discover it.. They have an incredible selection of pastries including cannolies, donuts, lemon cheesecake bites, eclairs and more!! The staff is so incredibly kind and patient - no wonder they have been around for 40yrs! Highly recommend that you Come here if you're in the area!! Strong 5 stars!! read more

Note: There is NO seating at this bakery and NO hot food table. This is a very basic, old school Italian bakery. There is gelato, however no sandwiches, pizzas, or hot table. I wanted to get a coffee, but only saw it at the check out - there was no price/menu list. Turnover rate didn't seem very high, so I went to Starbucks instead. Bonus? It's relatively cheap in comparison to "fancier" Italian bakeries. I got a small slice of tiramisu and a lobster tail and total was $4.10! The 2 items that I did have were quite fresh though. Another pit stop at a local bakery around my work, I'm going to get fat soon. Anyway, saw the previous review by Kat on this hidden little bakery that's really close to my workplace, so I decided to stop by after having watched an episode of Cake Boss last night and feeling the need for a cannoli. I shake my first at you Buddy Valastro, darn you for destroying my diet! Cordi has freshly baked Caldenese bread, rye bread, bagels, croissants, and an assortment of Italian pastries including cannolis, chocolate cannolis, zeppole, cinnamon buns, cakes and whatnot. They also had a deli section which had a few people ordering from. I picked up a cannoli, a chocolate cannoli, a cinnamon bun and a zeppole. My virgin experience with a zeppole, so I can't really compare, but it the zeppole is SUPER creamy, sort of like a donut with massive amounts of cream and cheese. It was alright. I'll have to try out zeppole at some other bakeries to really compare. The cannolis had a crunchy shell and creamy filling with chocolate chips. A nice crunchy shell (nothing worse than a soggy/soft shell on a cannoli) but the shell was a bit too thick for my liking. All in all it was good though. The cinnamon bun was average, nothing to rave about and comparable to what you could get at other bakeries or a supermarket. I'll have to try the caldenese bread next time, which looked pretty good and the cherry and apple turnovers, but I'll save those calories for another day. Off first impressions, I prefer Nova bakery to Cordi, but I'll give Cordi another shot since it's a bit closer. Will update my review next time I go. read more

Very busy and full of customers, this bakery has friendly and helpful staff with great baked goods. Their freshly baked assorted bread are quite popular. I've purchased a big box of assorted goodies and it was all gone soon after I got home. I enjoy their rich cheesecake, smooth and creamy pecan tarts and their unique hazelnut cream -filled puffs! Not too sweet with a scrumptious flavour, I would recommend and if I'm back in the area, I will definitely go back! Only downfall is that it is super packed and other customers can get a little pushy without apologizing. read more

This is an old school bakery that hits it well on all cylinders!! I discovered it about 4 years ago and have been going ever since with good prices:)) Their chocolate and twist donuts are the best in the city !!! hands down!!!! and made with a great dough ! Moved to Mississauga for over a year now and found this bakery by chance. I just say I'm the luckiest person because my family and I go there at least once a week and for all special occasions, whether it be mine or friends, I always order from here (specialize and known for their Sfoglia) or recommend my friends to go there. I have not regretted since. The staff are all so friendly, knowledgable and helpful. That's something you barely find nowadays. Keep up the great work and please don't leave us. Cordi has been our family bakery forever. My parents have lived in this neighborhood for almost 40 years and I really don't remember a time where we didn't go to Cordi 3-5x a week for our fresh bread. They have delicious breads, Italian styles being their specialty....tho I do love the sliced rye for toast bread in the mornings. It's not typical rye, def has an Italian twist. Their deli section is well stocked with all the Italian essential cold cuts and cheeses and their pizza dough is the best. My hubs is obsessed with their chocolate and twist donuts and I love their cinnamon buns. The zeppole are quite good too. Staff is alright, sometimes you find them really friendly and other times not so much. Either way I go for the bread not the conversation. read more

I liked the young friendly cashier recommended a choc donut, and the other short cashier hair tied back. Said you will be back. They both were extremely friendly and genuinely kind. The woman who bagged my cold items I kinda felt like I was bothering her. But I will be back . Just will avoid the snarky facial expression lady. Excellent family bakery my family visits several times a week for freshly baked bread, buns and cold cuts. Their cookies and pastries are all baked in house and are delicious. We try and get their early on weekends for super fresh donuts, cinnamon buns, and pizzas. Love them all. Staff are always helpful. My kids love to bike over when the warmer weather arrives for their homemade gelato. A great, great local bakery. read more

What an amazing place this is! Full of great Italian products at surprisingly great prices! Croissants and bagels for under $1, cannoli for just over $1. Great deli sandwiches for $5. Heaven! Why aren't there places like this where I live? This place is a relic of a time past when entrepreneurs wanted to serve their communities with great products at reasonable prices. Awesome Place! So let's start from the beginning. Going to a birthday party at 3pm. Here I am not from the city driving to a birthday party around 2pm with the main attraction in the back seat of my car...the birthday cake with cupcakes surrounding it. I am 5 minutes from getting the cake to its destination, with lots of time to spare, and a car cuts me off and the cake and cupcakes are now one giant mess inside the plastic protective dome. We are now at 2:15pm I am now in search of someone to repair the piece of modern art which used to be birthday cake in the back seat of my car. I drive past my destination and see a small bakery but they only do breads, buns etc etc but the lady said, "there is a grocery store on Rathburn a couple of streets away they might be able to help because they do cakes." Off I go finally find the store and go in and ask if there is any way they could help repair the birthday cake disaster. I get the, "We cannot help because of some legal reasons and the cake is not our cake, sorry." Hitting the panic button now as it is 2:30pm and no cake for the party. Now at this point your saying why don't I just buy another cake...because this cake was specifically decorated pink and white and same for the cupcakes and no one had anything close to that. Then it happens...I come around the corner of grocery store and see CORDI ITALIAN BAKERY & DELICATESSEN right in the same strip mall literally attached to the grocery store. All I can say is "AWESOME!" I walk in with the mess of a cake cupcake combo and explain what happened about being cut off and birthday is at 3pm and ask, "Is there anyway someone could help me recover this birthday cake?" The girl at the front counter was very empathetic and calls over another young lady and immediately the plastic encased mess is out of my hands and without missing a beat she said, "lets take a look and see what we can do." The next thing you know two young ladies are working on reviving the cake and surrounding cupcakes. These two ladies went into action like two surgeons in a hospital emergency room. One carefully removed all the icing off the mangled cupcakes while the other reshaped and blended the existing icing on the birthday cake to make it look like a cake again. Then after some out loud thinking...new white icing on the cupcakes, new white piping on the re-surfaced and leveled cake, a few well placed pink sprinkles on everything and shaved white chocolate hits the top of the cake and a couple of beautiful pink butterflies on the cup cakes just to make everything bling bling, re-do all the normal lettering and done! Lastly one of the ladies cleans up the plastic tray of old icing shrapnel and washes the protective dome to complete the birthday cake resurrection and save my bacon. I arrive at the party with 10 minutes to spare and with an amazing looking birthday cake surround by extraordinarily beautiful cupcakes. There are no words to describe the level of kindness and beautiful people that work at CORDI ITALIAN BAKERY & DELICATESSEN. I mean there was absolutely no hesitation between me arriving at the bakery with a birthday mess and the unprecedented kindness kicking in. A bunch of the other employees were complimenting the ladies while they were in the process of saving the cake, to the point I was expecting everyone to start high-fiving, that is how into "making it right" the staff was at the bakery. Unfortunately I did not get individual names of the two nice ladies responsible for saving the whole birthday because my stress level did not subside until I was half way through the party. Thank you to everyone at the bakery you should all be very proud and you have set the bar so high for your customer service. To find such unchecked kindness in these times...It restores your faith in people...it really does. Thank You CORDI ITALIAN BAKERY & DELICATESSEN and all your staff. read more
