    Breakfast poutine
    Warren M.

Passed through here on a Saturday during prime brunch hours. They able to seat our group of 12 quite quickly and comfortably. All of the servers were very nice. They serve your traditional breakfast fare here, but the breakfast poutine covered in hollandaise sauce really caught my eye, so I had to get it. It had your typical omelette toppings (onions, mushrooms, green peppers, etc) topped with 2 eggs and covered in sauce. It was comforting and exactly what I was craving.

Sunnyside Grill Is your typical brunch place. Physically the place is bright and clean. The spacing between some of the tables were a bit tight as the guy who sat behind me literally was rubbing his shoulders with mine. Good selections on the menu to choose from. I ended up having the traditional breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, and griddled potatoes. The potatoes were a bit dry. My friend had to go up to the counter to get her coffee refilled as the server didn't come to check consistently. My cup of water smelled like eggs. And we waited for a while for our bill but in the end decided to go to the counter to get our bill instead. I noticed other diners had their bills brought to them. Lots of other brunch restaurants to try. Moving on.......

I was here at noon to get myself a quick lunch. I saw the "seat yourself" sign and invited myself inside just to see empty tables with leftover plates and utensils from the previous customers along the booth area. So I decided to seat at the other available tables. There were maybe only five tables occupied with customers with two servers and one chef (open kitchen). I waited about 10 min before the servers noticed that I was ready to order. I asked for an orange juice, a cream of broccoli soup and a Canadian burger. They served my orange juice pretty fast but I waited waited for my soup and plate of burger for half an hour. My soup was lukewarm and where the menu states that my burger is supposed to contain mushrooms, cheddar cheese and peameal bacon, although I can see signs of mushrooms under the cheese, I still couldn't taste it after my last bite. Honestly I have to say that the only good thing about that burger was that it was juicy. A pat on the back for their chef. The servers were friendly, but the service was way too slow for a breakfast place that probably had less than 20 tables in total. A reminder to all, although the owner told me that the orange juice was freshly squeezed and that it costs them $30 a jug, they charged me $4.29 for the size of a canteen plastic cup.

Since I have been working on a job in Richmond Hill for the past 3 months, I have been coming into Sunnyside Grill, Richmond Hill location on a daily basis. To describe my experience in a word it would be WOW!!! Lets first start with the food. I like to have my eggs OVER EASY... sounds simple right? I cannot tell you how much of a problem it is to actually get OVER EASY... most times when I order OVER EASY my eggs comes either sunnyside up OR over medium. Recently at a different restaurant located down the road on Yonge street just below Major Mackenzie, I will order OVER EASY and now they serve me scrambled. I am not a picky person, I just like my eggs one way and believe it or not its a huge struggle. So back to Sunnyside Grill in Richmond Hill, Ontario By the time the 3rd day in a row came (that I ate there) my server knows off by heart my meal right down to the type of jam I want. I start walking in the server sees me she starts preparing my table for me and before I get my coat off she already has ordered my breakfast, coffee and water is on the table AND she brings me OVER EASY eggs. The two ladies that run this restaurant are AMAZING. So happy all the time, the servers and the cook are always fast, efficent and polite. This is the only place that actually asks me if I prefer my potatoes griddled or deep fried .If your looking for an affordable place, great food, and CLEAN then this is the place you want to go.

Stopped by here for brunch, and probably would've missed this place if it weren't for Yelp! Tucked away in a little plaza off of Yonge and Elgin Mills, Sunnyside delivers good food and good service! This place has a bright and family oriented atmosphere that serves your classic breakfast dishes at very reasonable prices. We were very pleased with the food along with the the service. Will be back again!

When I first went had breakfast at this place, I didn't know what to expect! The service I received was great. Inside the restaurant is very spacious and open. In my opinion, the food tastes delicious! Try the eggs Benedict!

    Simple, clean, tasty.

I have flagged visiting Topol Sandwich for quite some time. I haven't dropped by downtown Richmond…read moreHill for a while. I decided to drop by on Saturday. After shopping at Hillcrest Mall, I ordered the following items on Skip the Dishes: - Chicago-style cocktail sandwich - Mexican corn The app said that my order would be ready in 25 minutes. Cool! I took my time leaving the mall and heading over to Topol Sandwich. It's street parking in front of this eatery on Yonge Street, which is what you'd expect being downtown. There was plenty of parking at around 2:30 pm. I parked and noticed a man in a pink shirt, enjoying patio seating steps away from my car. It was nice to see. I walked into the eatery. There were tables and chairs for dining in, as it has been over a week since Richmond Hill went into stage 3 of businesses reopening. I was the only customer. A woman walked out to greet me. I said my name and indicated that I was picking up an order. She let me know that she needed more time. I had to ask her how much time she needed. She said 7 to 8 minutes. She hoped that it was okay. I thought that was an odd statement. I said that I'd wait outside. I am fortunate to be a patient person. If I had a short fuse, I would have not liked the hope-it's-okay statement. I'm more analytical on how things are worded, to make the customer service experience better, especially when I have time to reflect. It would have been better if she had simply stated that the order is taking much longer to prepare than expected, that it would take 8 minutes, and that she was sorry for the extra time she needed to complete my order. Anyway, I left the eatery. What to do on a hot summer day? I didn't want to head back to my car. Instead, I walked over to a bench in front of an orthodontic clinic (it made me think of my having braces on eons ago and that office didn't have a bench outside!), sat there, and watched people walk by as the sun shone on me. I took off my mask. Can you imagine mask tan lines on my face?! After ten minutes, I walked back into Topol Sandwich. This time, I got a man at the counter. I explained my order and my name. Moments later, my order was ready. Yay! He wished me a nice day and handed my order over in a paper bag with handles. I thanked him and left the restaurant with my food. I had my food when I got home. I was thrilled to chow down with a cold beverage. The Chicago-style cocktail sandwich is $16. It runs steep. However, it is so stuffed with ingredients that I couldn't each the whole thing. I had half of it for my late lunch-early dinner, and the other half for lunch the following day. Topol Sandwich offers a fully Halal menu. My Chicago-style cocktail sandwich had Persian beef cocktail sausage, sliced mushrooms, tomatoes, potato sticks, Swiss and mozzarella cheeses, and special sauce. I chose this sandwich because I love hot dogs and sliced mushrooms. This sandwich is hefty. Topol means fat in Farsi. I get it now. This place packs so much stuff in its sandwich that I get the price. It was delicious. The entire sandwich is so flavourful. I loved the sausage, tomatoes, and potato sticks. I wasn't sure whether it would be Hickory Sticks that you get in a bag. Nope, they aren't as crunch, but it's such a fun sandwich that I enjoyed them. It has pickles, which wasn't listed on the app's menu. I had to take them out because I've never been a fan of pickles in sandwiches. There's a lot of cheese happening in this sandwich. It's great for cheeseheads. I would have enjoyed less richness (you'll never see me order a four-cheese lasagna or a three-cheese pizza), but it was still delicious. The Mexican corn was $6. I thought it would be a small side. Nope, it was a huge portion in a round aluminum container. It had corn, mushrooms, potato sticks, all mixed in a creamy cheese sauce. I loved it. Again, it's cheesier than my personality and how I like corn in genreal, but it's corn and mushrooms with potato sticks. It's all good in my books! Other than the tardiness of the promised pickup time on Skip the Dishes, I had a great experience. I'd like to come back and try more sandwiches, minus the pickles. Come with an empty stomach and your appetite! (222)

The hickory stick things were soggy, the meats were just cheap over-processed deli meats (not the high quality kind), and the bread was really dry and nothing special. The portion was huge though which makes sense as to why it was $18 + tax. I could only eat half in one sitting, but was not looking forward to the other half. Ps. I was thrilled to learn about Grandma Loves You (GLY) opening its first location in the greater Toronto area. It's in York region in Aurora. Woo hoo! A few Yelp experiences at GLY's original location in Rosedale made me love the sandwiches and croissants. It has since moved its flagship location to Yonge and St. Clair, and has opened a few more locations. I have yet to visit the one near St. Lawrence Market. Someday, I'll get there. In the meantime, I had to visit this brand new location and made my way up here two Saturdays ago. Out of all their stores, parking here is the best. It's free. It's straightforward. It's easy and stress-free. There were a set of stairs to get you to and from this place. I was hoping that there was a ramp for those who need a wheelchair somewhere. I didn't see one. I got here at around 2 pm. It was pretty busy. My original plan was to dine in. It looked like I had do takeout. I had the most helpful, sweet woman behind the counter. I wanted a meatball sandwich, which is my favourite. I was rusty ordering it. She guided me through everything. You can get their sandwiches that are like subs in either a 6" or 12". I went with the latter. She said that there was a seat just behind me. There were more like lounge chairs. I was down nabbing a comfy chair. I also got a Diet Coke in a can. I needed something to wash everything down. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She asked for my name and would call me when my order was ready. The best customer service occurred when this woman brought my sandwich to me. Wow! It was such a kind gesture. I thanked her and then tore through it. Oh, how I love the meatball sandwich! So many meatballs were packed into this sandwich. Each meatball was yummy and juicy, with the perfect amount of sauce. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese pulled everything together with the most perfect bread. The Diet Coke was in the fridge next to where I was sitting. I grabbed a can. It was cold and delightful. Before I left, I got a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie to go. Starbucks used to offer this cookie eons ago. I don't know why the franchise took it off the menu. It was awesome. Well, this cookie was delicious and make me forget about the Starbucks one. It was packed full of white chocolate and macadamia pieces. It was just under $4 after taxes, but so worth it. I used the washroom before I left. There is only one stall. It was clean. but expect to take turns using it when it's busy. I am glad that I finally visited this location. Welcome to York region and Aurora, GLY! I'll be back for more. (398)

It looked nothing like the cheeseburger from Burger Factory that's posted online. The patty was not even thick at all! I received a thin patty which contained cheese but I had to get to the center of the burger to get a bit of cheese oozing out. The rest of the patty was essentially a Mc D caliber patty. If you look at the pic I posted, the meat to bun ratio was also totally off. The bun was bigger than the meat so I had bites where I was literally just eating thick bread and veggies. The cheeseburger photos show big chunky meat patties so I'm wondering if I got an employee who didn't really know what he was doing? I opted for a combo and got mac n' cheese bites as my side. These were exceptionally disappointing. I'm no mac expert but I'd be willing to bet a dollar that they use Kraft dinner in these mac n' cheese bites. Overly salty, overly processed. No dipping sauce, just came with two ketchup packets on the side. For a meal that hit me for over $20 I truly felt ripped off. This combo was NOT worth $20+. I had a double Shack burger from Shake Shack literally a week prior to eating here and that burger was MILES better and way more "gourmet" tasting than this one.

Very nicely cooked, they use a really good quality sesame bun which I think makes a big difference when you bite into the burger. Good toppings and the fries were nice and lite. Not too oily and salty as other places are. A great deal that is probably not around anymore haha.
