I came here with my husband for brunch on the weekend and this place was packed. The environment wasn't the most glamourous looking. It looked just like a diner. I order the pulled pork eggs benny and it was delicious. The BBQ pulled pork was mouthwatering, tender and saucey. The eggs were made to perfection, running yolk burst out as soon as I poked them open. The only complaints for me were the hollandaise sauce and home fries. The hollandaise sauce was bland. I've never tried such bland hollandaise sauce. How on earth could you fail hollandaise sauce? Hollandaise sauce is what makes an eggs benny. And to me that was a big fail. The home fries were not crispy at all. They were very soft and also didn't have much seasoning. My husband ordered the hangover helper breakfast (of course) and it was massive. It came with a choice of buttermilk pancakes or cinnamon french toast, 2 eggs, fruit garnish, a choice of bacon or sausage, home fries, toasts and baked porky beans. I recently went to bunch there and it's obviously busy on the weekend cause they have a time limit lol! I had their prosciutto tomato Benedict. The meals was breakfast with ham. The good: the ham was real ham not deli meat and they even asked how I wanted my eggs. That's rare. And I had never thought of it cause I think most places cook them medium so runny but slightly firm. So that was a bonus to detail that I don't normally get. Their hollandaise sauce is rich for sure. So if you don't like I'd get it on the side. The potatoes were good The bad: I was supposed to get beans with the meal and realized afterwards we didn't get any. The potatoes are just French fries. I prefer potatoes cooked on the grill until crispy but soft. Anyways it's a decent place if you're in the area. I love to order their pancakes for delivery. When they're done well, they're really good: cozy, warm and comforting. Sometimes, they're a bit undercooked. But I always go back to ordering from them because they always hit the spot. Came here for brunch with my family. We followed the posted instructions to wait and ask for a table. A staff member told us one was ready -- but before we could be seated, a couple walked in and sat at our assigned table. The waitress was kind and apologetic, clearly trying to help. Then the manager came over and things went downhill fast. He refused to move the couple, didn't apologize, and told us, "I didn't know -- I can put your name in and it'll be 15 minutes." We waited patiently and were eventually seated. But then the manager returned, raised his voice at us, and accused us of harassing the couple who had taken our table. He threatened to kick us out -- all while we were calmly sitting and trying to put behind us the earlier reaction he had. It was humiliating and completely unprofessional. I've never been treated like this at a restaurant before. The staff (aside from the manager) were doing their best, but the way this situation was handled was unacceptable. I won't be returning, and I hope others are treated with more respect than we were. read more

I went to The Homeway this morning for brunch and was very disappointed in the service, so disappointed I left and went to another restaurant. I arrived at 10 and was told to grab any free table, which I did. I awaited my two sons arrival 10 minutes later, I was not approached by my server and ignored by all the other staff. When my kids arrived I waited another 10 minutes and watched all the guests who arrived after me get served. The server in the area went out of her way to ignore me. I finally got up and asked for the manager. I was informed there was no manager on duty. I explained my situation and was told, the server for my section of 2 tables, was covering for someone else and was not informed of my arrival. They did not explain why the other server and staff ignored me and my kids. I am not one to bring up race but we were the only black family in the restaurant and were ignored by all. If The Honeway, does not want to serve me because of my skin colour, I am happy to spend my money at another restaurant and will not be visiting this establishment aagain. read more

I ordered breakfast for delivery with 2 fruit bowls. None of the fruit was trimmed, not even the pineapple bark was removed. If they're to lazy to prep the fruit are they also too lazy to wash it? The wait list feature though yelp is awesome, so I could actually put my name down for a table before I got there. The place was pretty busy still so we had about a 10 min wait. Came for lunch today on a nice and quiet Friday afternoon. I ordered the Montreal smoked meat on rye with the soup of the day, which was chicken and lime, and the soup was pipping hot when it came to the table. The soup was nice and savoury, and I loved that it had lots of vegetables - it reminded me a borscht soup, except with shredded chicken instead of beef. As for the sandwich, looks were certainly deceiving because I thought the portion looked rather small on such a big plate but it turns out that they really heaped the smoked meat into it. The meat was really tender and flavourful so I'm glad that was the case. The crust of the rye bread was a bit hard in contrast to the soggier middle, but it was still good. I was curious, however, where my pickle went since it was written in the description on the menu but was nowhere to be found in my sandwich. The staff were all very friendly and overall, this seems to be a nice place to enjoy a weekday brunch. read more

They don't take reservations for less than 5 people, but we were able to find a table for 2 with minimal wait. The place is small and narrow, and with everyone in there, very cozy. I have to come back and have this. All omelettes come with home fries and choice of toast (including Challah). But since this was my first time here, I have to have my inaugural eggs benny (Florentine). It was good, and smothered with hollendaise, but I found the sauce a little too tart (lemony) for my taste.
