Tried the daily Omlette this time and split the French Toast. I recommend the daily Omlette. The avocado and the feta make a good filing for the Omlette. It comes with a side of arugula raspberry salad, without any dressing. Which I prefer and like. The French toast was okay. Service is friendly and attentive. They fill up your coffee as soon as you need it to be filled up. We got to spot in the window this time. All in all, a good Sunday morning brunch.

The Mount Pleasant location also has an outdoor patio, hidden by beautiful foliage and a wide sidewalk so that there's more privacy. You can certainly find the staple breakfast fare of bacon and eggs at Hazel's, although I think their signature creations are so much better and love that their menu offers so many meat-free options. Bonnie's hash ($17), named after the owner's wife who is a vegetarian, is a hearty combination of well toasted potatoes mixed with corn, onion, pepper, spinach, garlic, and jalapeno, topped with two eggs done to your liking (my over medium was done perfectly). It's a satisfying breakfast that's also refreshing and delicious. I only wish the rye bread was less crispy - it's more akin to melba toast - and is great for dipping into eggs but not solo with jam. Sourced from a local bakery, the owner explains the lack of preservatives does mean it can crisp up quickly, so perhaps order it untoasted if you like your bread soft. On the other hand, if you're craving decadence, the eggs Natasha ($19) places poached eggs on smoked salmon and pancakes topped with hollandaise, sour cream, and black caviar. It's a savoury, sweet, and smoky concoction, certainly a dish to wake up the taste buds and makes me wonder if it's too early to have a shot of vodka. For those who like it sweet, the French toast is made from challah so that it's extra custardy tasting with a faint cinnamon finish. I particularly love that Hazel's uses maple syrup instead of the overly thick and plasticky tasting table syrup. When you're creating such wonderful dishes, go maple! After such a filling brunch, I didn't think we could get through the loaded waffle ($16), but as I took a bite of the fluffy creation with a sweet berry, I wanted another bite and another... needless to say, it did not go to waste. And despite what looks like an insane amount of whipped cream, it was as light as air and seemed to vanish on the tongue.

I went to the Hazel's diner location on Mount Pleasant for lunch on Monday. The restaurant was not very crowded. The restaurant wasn't very clean since there were dirty dishes on the tables. But there was only one waitress who was busy. I ordered the eggs Florentine. The food was okay but kind of bland. I couldn't really taste all the ingredients in the dish. The potatoes were kind of burnt. Would I go back? Maybe to try other dishes.

My first visit to this place was delightful by all counts. The service was outstandingly good, the food was amazing, but the price was a little much for breakfast. It is a clean and modern looking diner and they serve a wide variety of breakfast options. I had the hazel hash ($14) and it was an amazing blend of meat, eggs and potatoes. The portion sizes are huge and the serving time was quick. They had freshly squeezed juices and coffee available though it has to be said the coffee was a little underwhelming. I will have to go back to try out their other menu items as it all looks delicious. Notes: The washroom is very clean and has a cool sink!

Went on a Sunday and there was a lineup at ~ 1:30 pm. Understandably - the food was good, service was good. I love the salmon & avocado omelette. Definitely a neighbourhood gem.

The restaurant is giving cozy comforts diner with abut 20 people worth of seating. Join the waitlist as soon as you can because you can wait up to 2 hours for a table on a Sunday morning. After we got seated and our waiter came over and he wasn't giving the most welcoming energy, he seemed a little stand off ish which was weird but we assumed that's just how he was lol. Other than that that the service was good. We started with the biscuits. You have an option to have it with gravy or jam. We got jam and it came with a clotted cream like spread and a cinnamon apple tasting jam. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. We got an ice coffee too and it was really good. I always come for the party melt. It comes with their house salad and a scoop of their sweet potato salad. The whole plate was fantastic. We also for their turkey dinner and this was so delicious but we were so full we only had a couple bites and took the rest home. It was just as delicious as reheated leftovers.

Ordered OG patty melt (reuben style), sour cream donut, egg and steak(or sausage? dont recall). Patty melt is really good. unique. tender and juicy patty. with dipping sauce on the side. Egg & steak(or sausage....dont recall) is too normal (my friend prefer to eat my patty melt instead). Sour cream donut is crazily delicious! not too sweet, soft and airy dough. We wish to buy more (cz we only ordered 1, just to try). As we were eating, people kept coming (but restaurant is full and they need to register for online waitlist, which could take 2-3hrs waiting list). Worth to try if you live nearby. Otherwise, probably it's ok to skip. It'a good or unique, but not too wow/mind blowing (especially for a far commute). It's a simple-and-classic-and-feels-homey vibe type of breakfast after all. Fast and attentive service. Cheers!

With its red exterior, snug booth seating, and counter stools worn smooth by years of faithful custom, it wears its authenticity without affectation. The Irish breakfast is the undisputed centrepiece: a generous, unapologetically hearty spread that arrives with the sort of abundance one associates with a proper Irish kitchen. Portions are substantial and satisfying, calibrated for appetite rather than aesthetics -- and all the better for it. The menu is unpretentious, and the cooking honest. What distinguishes The George Street Diner most, however, is the quality of its hospitality. The service is warm and unhurried, characterised by a genuine attentiveness that is increasingly rare. One leaves not merely fed, but looked after -- and that distinction matters. It is the sort of neighbourhood gem one recommends without hesitation, and whose reputation travels well. I have done so on multiple occasions, and the response has been unfailingly positive. A treasured find for weekend brunch in Toronto.

The eggs were great but I couldn't eat the rest. I don't want fries for breakfast. The beans were straight out of a can, a tiny piece if mushy tomato, extremely dry soda bread, and the worse tasting mushrooms I've ever had. Husband had the same but with too salty sausage. He couldn't eat it. We both basically ate the egg with a piece of the soda bread. Service was great. Coffee cup never empty. But omg, SO pricey for a diner. Won't be back.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.
