Veggie omelette
Olya S.

I've been to this place many times over the years and it's always been a good breakfast option. Omelettes are pretty good, fresh, tasty. The service is pretty good if they are not too busy, but if they are busy it slows down but that's never been an issue. I would say it's a bit over-priced. But overall a really good spot for breakfast.

Omelette with potatoes and toast

Cute diner, but easy to miss. Very old school and homey. The home fries were done perfectly, and I highly recommend getting the liver sandwich! The pancakes look beautiful, and I hope to try that next time. Seating is pretty cramped, however. Try to get a booth if you want more space. Everything was reasonably priced. They even have a kids menu! A traditional brunch, one of the best in the area if you're looking for a home style brunch, nothing too hipster ;)

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place for brunch. The first place we went to had a line. I suggest a mom and pop diner that I haven't been to in awhile. It was busy, and only the front diner area was available. We sat and we could tell the staff was bustling. Took while to get a menu, but once we were served the drinks and food came fast. My girlfriend ordered a bacon grilled cheese and I order the standard breakfast: two eggs, bacon, homefries, toast and coffee for $9.50. My breakfast was fantastic. Eggs cooked perfectly, Bacon was crispy and good toast. The only issue was were the potatoes were frozen and under seasoned. Ketchup helped. My girlfriend loved her grilled cheese. She asked for her bacon to be extra crispy and it came that way as expected. I would definitely return to Good Bite diner. It has a great family/greasy spoon vibe. Nothing beats a good greasy breakfast. It would be a 5 if they upgrade the potatoes.

Corned beef hash omelette

Have passed by this place numerous times over the years - it stands out from all the expensive restaurants and chic shops in the area. It's a greasy spoon that serves your usual greasy spoon staples like breakfast and burgers. A pal and I were going to go for breakfast at another resto down the street, but they weren't open yet (and wouldn't be open for another thirty minutes). As a result, we decided to walk around and look for a place that we could go into right away. We were seated right away in a booth; it's not too big and seating is probably limited to 40 people max. I had the corned beef omelette with whole wheat toast and tea. For $10, I was pretty impressed with the amount of food I got. As for the quality/taste, I would definitely say that it's a-ok; it won't be the last meal on earth for me, but it also wasn't terrible. Service was pretty good; and the food came out quickly. Good for: cheap eat, breakfast, lunch

Good Bite definitely is what you would call an old school, diner type of restaurant. Comfy booths and your typical old but kind waitress working the tables. No frills/fuss comes to mind with extremely reasonable prices. My flight came into insanely early so we went to get a bite to eat. We were the only ones there on a Monday morning (7am) but the two working there were friendly and greeted us immediately. Apparently, this place is great for souvlakis but only breakfast menu (7-11:30am) was available at that time. We ordered: - 2 eggs with sausage ($7.95) - ordered eggs over-easy which were done nicely. Dish also came with home fries (potatoes) and two pieces of bread (buttered). Surprisingly, everything was tasty and not overly greasy. Definitely hit the spot for both of us. - 3 eggs with sausage ($8.95) - my buddy pretty much had the same with the extra egg. He devoured his dish before you could blink. Anyways, I'm not the biggest fan of breakfast joints but this one fit the bill. Fast service, friendly staff and cheaaaap dishes. They also had several different omeletes, pancakes and french toast on the menu if they typical eggs/bacon/ham/sausage doesn't catch your eye.

Lentil soup

Your local mom and pop diner with a nice retro feel to it. Booths throughout and stools at the counter. Extensive breakfast and brunch menu. We ordered sandwiches as it was close to lunch. We both had the soup of day which was a lentil soup. The Grilled cheese with bacon was sadly made with kraft singles cheese. I was recommended the bacon, tomato sandwich, which was pretty good but small. The slices were the size of Wonder bread slices. It was affordable but portions were small. The service was very fast.

Calves liver with crispy bacon/Onions/gravy...mmmm

I was visiting the area, looking for an old-fashioned kind of diner to take my grown-up daughters to. I had searched the Yelp reviews in the area but found that most were Greek, Italian, Asian, Portuguese and even a restaurant to satisfy someone with a Chef's palate. What I was seeking was a "Greasy Spoon Diner" and that is exactly what I got! (Minus the grease)! Unfortunately, this diner was exactly what droves of other patrons were seeking also as the decibels of voices made it difficult for us to communicate without raising our own voices to communicate with each other. But the food and service was was exactly what we wanted! I ordered the calves liver with bacon and Onions and it was the best I'd ever had! It's hard to find a place that serves such good quality of liver anywhere these days! My daughters had the traditional eggs/ crispy great quality bacon/ peamealed back bacon, eggs cooked to perfection. It was a very hot and humid day and the front door stayed open. At first I was wary that it might be too hot and stuffy inside but the fans kept the air circulating and we felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We found that if we just "leaned in" and spoke to each other, the booths sheltered our conversations. I took note that all of the patrons enjoyed themselves immensely and went away making note to myself to come back again in the near future.

the front of the restaurant

Goodbite has a good variety of food choices on their menu. I have ordered their great breakfasts and burger/fries more often than other dishes. The quality of the food is also consistant.

Read the reviews said was a good place for breakfast so why not order the famous breakfast boy when I saw it wasn't what I expected. When she asked for the money paid over eleven dollars for this breakfast asked the lady paying for this month rent? Don't believe all reviews are good better of going to A&W breakfast alot cheaper. Won't be coming here any time soon. Should had the lady where's the chicken would have squeezed another egg from that chicken lol.

souvlaki dinner
Eric F.

For the price, the souvlaki dinner is a disappointment. The souvlaki was dry and there was no sauce on the salad for some reason (bottle of sauce provided separately). I would probably go with some of the other choices on the menu next time I come. Service is good, but the food is a little slow for larger groups. It's also very hard to seat a larger group sometimes too because of the small size of the restaurant.

The restaurant is giving cozy comforts diner with abut 20 people worth of seating. Join the waitlist as soon as you can because you can wait up to 2 hours for a table on a Sunday morning. After we got seated and our waiter came over and he wasn't giving the most welcoming energy, he seemed a little stand off ish which was weird but we assumed that's just how he was lol. Other than that that the service was good. We started with the biscuits. You have an option to have it with gravy or jam. We got jam and it came with a clotted cream like spread and a cinnamon apple tasting jam. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. We got an ice coffee too and it was really good. I always come for the party melt. It comes with their house salad and a scoop of their sweet potato salad. The whole plate was fantastic. We also for their turkey dinner and this was so delicious but we were so full we only had a couple bites and took the rest home. It was just as delicious as reheated leftovers.

Ordered OG patty melt (reuben style), sour cream donut, egg and steak(or sausage? dont recall). Patty melt is really good. unique. tender and juicy patty. with dipping sauce on the side. Egg & steak(or sausage....dont recall) is too normal (my friend prefer to eat my patty melt instead). Sour cream donut is crazily delicious! not too sweet, soft and airy dough. We wish to buy more (cz we only ordered 1, just to try). As we were eating, people kept coming (but restaurant is full and they need to register for online waitlist, which could take 2-3hrs waiting list). Worth to try if you live nearby. Otherwise, probably it's ok to skip. It'a good or unique, but not too wow/mind blowing (especially for a far commute). It's a simple-and-classic-and-feels-homey vibe type of breakfast after all. Fast and attentive service. Cheers!

With its red exterior, snug booth seating, and counter stools worn smooth by years of faithful custom, it wears its authenticity without affectation. The Irish breakfast is the undisputed centrepiece: a generous, unapologetically hearty spread that arrives with the sort of abundance one associates with a proper Irish kitchen. Portions are substantial and satisfying, calibrated for appetite rather than aesthetics -- and all the better for it. The menu is unpretentious, and the cooking honest. What distinguishes The George Street Diner most, however, is the quality of its hospitality. The service is warm and unhurried, characterised by a genuine attentiveness that is increasingly rare. One leaves not merely fed, but looked after -- and that distinction matters. It is the sort of neighbourhood gem one recommends without hesitation, and whose reputation travels well. I have done so on multiple occasions, and the response has been unfailingly positive. A treasured find for weekend brunch in Toronto.

The eggs were great but I couldn't eat the rest. I don't want fries for breakfast. The beans were straight out of a can, a tiny piece if mushy tomato, extremely dry soda bread, and the worse tasting mushrooms I've ever had. Husband had the same but with too salty sausage. He couldn't eat it. We both basically ate the egg with a piece of the soda bread. Service was great. Coffee cup never empty. But omg, SO pricey for a diner. Won't be back.

Sadly there was no chair for her to sit down on yet it didn't stop her from going to her regular spot for a Sunday brunch. She told me that she has been coming here for many years, even before it was called Sammy's. Has it been 30 years, she asked herself? Either way, she made it known that she is quite the regular. Very nice and friendly lady. These are the types of regulars that make the diner what it is. There is a sign in clipboard at the front, as soon as you walk in. You have to sign in as part of contact tracing in case there is an outbreak of COVID linked back to this establishment. Make sure you do not block the pathway from behind the bar, I didn't block it but a large family with several kids needed a place to stand in line and wait for a big table, because servers will get very mad at you and tell you "I NEED TO GET BY! DON'T BLOCK THE WAY!" But there is no where to stand when the lineup is 20 people deep. This is something to think about once the weather gets colder and there is a long lineup out the door. Perhaps takeout would be a better option than to be yelled at by the short haired waitress with tattoos? While I did not mind waiting and I had a book to occupy my time in the lineup and at the table before I was given the menu, I could see that this was obviously a rush time, prime time lunchtime at the diner, maybe others might be a little more impatient than me? I could watch a snail crawl for hours, patience is a virtue. The wait is very long to get seated and even longer to get food. While the food was pretty good, and the other server was very friendly, attentive and nice, I think they were short staffed that day and nothing is ever as instant as fast food. My advice would be to go here when you have the time to wait. Don't come here if you are in a rush. It's better to only come here when you have lots of time to wait.
