Healthy and delicious egg white omelette
Sasha P.

Came to sunset grill for a quick bite before going to the library in the beaches. This location was cute, lots of room for seating. I ordered an egg white omelette with no oil or butter and got rye bread with it. Perfect and healthy way to start my day. The service was good but nothing too spectacular

The basic weekday breakfast with sausage and coffee
Christopher P.

I've been coming the the Sunset Grill for some time, typically during the week and for an early breakfast, and never been disappointed when those conditions are met. They have a weekday breakfast meal -- eggs, toast, home fries, with the option of adding on some meats for extra charges -- that is a great value in terms of how much food you receive. I tend to add sausage and coffee so, once tip and taxes are accounted for, I'm paying around $10-13. Early morning the service is fast, coffee and water filled regularly, and the bill delivered with utmost haste. Sadly the same cannot be said of weekends, when the Sunset Grill fills up with people out with their kids and friends for a cheap breakfast and time to gab. Over the weekend this breakfast joint is loud, a bit slow, and prices aren't as low as they should be for the quality of food provided. I would advise you to generally do a basic breakfast, perhaps with a fruit dish as your 'special extra'. The French toast is a particularly sad meal option: it has the under taste of an omelette which is, perhaps unsurprisingly, not quite how I want my French toast to taste! If the cooks are utilizing any vanilla in the batter for such toast I suspect it's wafted within feet like incense and not actually poured into the mixing bowl. In short, I conditionally recommend coming here. Not on weekends. And don't adventure too far off the basic breakfast track. But if you're here on weekday mornings you can be sure to relax, enjoy a simple and hearty breakfast, and leave to start your day with a very full belly of cooked goodness.

buttermilk pancakes
Stephy P.

Ive been here multiple times, its usually really busy. Today it wasnt, food arrived quickly. I had the sunset benedict and 2 buttermilk pancakes. The benedict was really good but the potatoes were saltier than normal. The pancakes were really dry, i was looking forward to them as i havent had pancakes in a really long time. The food was better previous times ive been here.

The lumberjack with cheddar cheese eggs and blueberry pancakes. The bacon was amazing...thick and crispy.

Good food with ample portions. Old fashioned greasy spoon breakfast - nothing fancy and not for the pretentious crowd.

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and well taken of throughout the entire meal. The food was absolutely delicious fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and the drinks were equally impressive. One of the best parts is the view you can actually see the CN Tower right from the restaurant, which makes the experience even more special and uniquely Toronto. It added such a beautiful touch to the evening. Overall, Siempre Restaurant exceeded my expectations. If you're in Canada and looking for incredible food, great service, and a stunning view, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Pierina guided us via phone and even came outside of the restaurant and waved as we approached. That was awesome Customer service as well as kindness. Ambiance was chill inside. Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

This cafe is small and while I was there it was definitely a tight squeeze. Where you order and where you pick up your drink isn't designed to allow for a good flow for customers, aside from that, I have no complaints. I ordered a latte and grabbed two goodies for the road, a raspberry croissant and a ginger molasses cookie. The staff working were welcoming and friendly and my items were ready rather quickly. Once I got back to my hotel, I settled in to enjoy and get some work done. My latte was smooth and creamy and just what I needed to get my day started. My raspberry croissant was beautiful and packed full of flavor. The filling wasn't too sweet and there was just the right amount inside. I saved my cookie for a snack while I traveled home later that day. I love how it had chunks of sugared ginger on top. The cookie had the perfect amount of chew to it and the ginger on top added an extra burst of ginger. It was lovely. I'm so glad I found this cafe on Yelp and I highly suggest you pay them a visit. I'm still dreaming of all the pastries I didn't get to try.

A quick Yelp check pointed me to this spot a brisk eight-minute walk from Queen Station on Yonge, and I'm so glad I made the detour instead of heading to one of my usual haunts. I was seated immediately. The place has lots of seating -- high tops, tables and booths -- and a cool, eclectic vibe: comfy chairs, interesting wall photos, eggshell light fixtures and cheerful yolk‑yellow and orange tones. Big glass windows make it a fun people‑watching spot, and the open kitchen lets you see the cooks hustling away. I ordered the classic breakfast (just over $18): two scrambled eggs -- soft and perfect -- plus herb potatoes fried in beef tallow (I swapped those for lightly dressed artisan greens). You choose your protein -- bacon, Canadian bacon, rosemary ham, chicken, or pork bangers -- and I went with the hardwood‑smoked bacon: three perfectly cooked slices. Coffee was ethically sourced, and my mochaccino hit the sweet spot -- not too sugary. All in all 10 out of 10. I plan to try their gluten free waffle next time. Extras worth noting: they offer booze, smoothies, juices, and a $4.75 "coffee bump" (1 oz of Irish cream, Kahlúa, whiskey, bourbon, brandy, or Grand Marnier). Eggs are free‑run. Service was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable -- got me in and out without feeling rushed, back at my desk before 1 pm. I'll definitely be back -- next time with friends so I have an excuse to order everything on the menu. Highly recommend for anyone who needs a well‑made, comforting breakfast-anytime (and possibly a legal excuse for a midday coffee bump).

I was constantly checking wait times on both yelp and google, as well as going back and forth between this place and another that did offer reservations. But something for everyone. The service wasn't exactly with a smile-- I get it, you're busy, it's a lot. No one came to check on us and see how the food was, but luckily we didn't really need anything (except pepper, but we moved on haha).

Had a lovely brunch at L'Avenue in Toronto at the outdoor shopping center - The Well. My friend insisted we go because it's "hottest brunch spot in town". He was right - there was a huge line - but they have a waitlist! And make sure you get ahead of the crowd at the door, because it was a bit chaotic, and people who were waiting at the door didn't even realize there was a waitlist. The waitlist was easy - host took our name and phone number - and texted when the table was ready. Food was delicious and although the prices seemed high, the portions were actually very big. I had the "I'll have it all" - and this was a perfect mix of everything, but I couldn't finish it! My boyfriend got pancakes - same for him - he couldn't finish it because it was so rich! I'd definitely go back for the food - but would share dishes instead. The only catch is that it was too fast paced for me. The server was super nice - but I didn't feel like I had time to really order the right things and ask questions. So I'll go back for sure, but maybe when the heat dies down.
