"Mild" was spicy wnough for me-- the chicken was tender and a welcome change from most white meat based curries; and the dish was served very hot which was appreciated. I have been meaning to try Eggholic since they opened and happened to be in the area at the Russian market down the way in the same strip mall. The place was very bright and clean. The employee at the register was very nice and helpful. She was extremely patient while I perused the menu and tried to decide. She answered all my questions and even showed me pictures of the dishes on her ordering screen as well as suggested things. I couldn't decide, so I got two dishes, the chicken butter masala and the egg bullet fry. I also got the dahi puri for an appetizer. I got it to-go so I could share it with my family. The chicken butter masala had a lot of oil on top when I opened it, so I scooped some out and stirred the rest in. The chicken was sooo tender and the sauce was delicious. Everyone else agreed. The bullet fry wasn't my jam, but others in my family liked it. The sauce was very flavorful. The dahi puri was my favorite. They packaged all the fillings and sauces separately so the puffs didn't get soggy and that was appreciated. Those little puffs were heaven sent and I will be returning to get those and try other dishes. Definitely 10/10!! If you haven't tried it, put it on your list and give it a shot. read more

Eggholic is a wonderful Indian Street Food restaurant in Indy where you can try a variety of Indian food such as chicken butter masala and Paneer Masala. The location is in a strip mall on the west side of Indy, and the ambiance is very nice where you can sit and enjoy your food in a nice dining room. You can order at the counter and the staff will bring your food to you. The ambiance has a nice Indian flare to it and is very chic and decorative. The service is wonderful and the staff is very knowledgeable on the Indian street food. The chicken butter masala is my favorite because it has nice huge pieces of chicken and the sauce is terrific. The chicken masala sandwich is also a great lunch item as well. It has the right amount of spices in it that brings out the flavors. The mango lassi is a smooth drink that tastes like pure heaven and will soothe your stomach. Ya'll well, we've returned multiple times since our first visit during a Yelp event and just can't get enough! The menu is so expansive and offers you a zillion reasons to return and try it all. I especially loved having the rose falooda dessert and galub jamon this last time. This is a great spot for ordering a variety to share. Our toddler loved it just as much as we did. I recently got an anda masala sandwich as part of the Yelp Elite experience. I'm not a new comer to the place, but I find it necessary to still give my food a good review. There's a part of India called Gujarat. Think of your Patels, Kumars, Shahs- fair chance they're from this part of the country. Strong vegetarian street food culture but also eggetarian. Take your omelette or scrambled eggs and make it masala. That's Eggholic. For me, it's a way to eat the foods I would eat when I was traveling to Jndia. I know there street food is fantastic from friends, I was disappointed with their buffet, I will give them another chance in a month. The price for the buffet on weekend lunch is only $13 which is good price these days when the average Indian buffet is $20. The number of dishes they advertised on facebook was less than what we noted in person. Versus competing buffets it was very bland. The Puris were cool tortilla no puffiness, not lightness, they had Pav Bhaji which was good, but no rolls to enjoy it with, and as noted above the puri was not good. The noted raitha on their advertising but only had buttermilk. The chicken was not flavorful. The gulabjam was cold. I asked for ice water and was sent to a water dispenser with no ice available. Hoping it is better for my next visit in a month, because with small tweaks then can get to 5 stars read more

One of our new favorites! They have a vast menu of Indian street food/snacks and so many vegetarian options. Their online website had pictures to go along with the menu items. The Paneer kadai (paneer in a creamy gravy with onions and bell pepper) was especially good. The spice level was perfect and the sauce was flavorful. The pani puri was great. The water sauce was chilled and flavored well. The curry with peas was fresh tasting. The peas were not over cooked and had a nice pop to them. The potato sandwich and egg sandwich were both the favorites at the table. Never had a flavor like it and the bread was so light inside and crisp outside. They have a great space. There's at least fifteen tables with four chairs each. There's booth seating too. It feels roomy inside. The employees were friendly. We stopped in for a quick snack while running around Indy. I had been here previously for a Yelp Elite event and wanted to stop by. I ordered the Samosa Chaat and my love ordered the Chicken Masala Wrap. For being made from scratch food it came out pretty darn quickly. We were in and out in about 10 minutes. The chicken masala sandwich at Eggholic has secured a place in my heart. It's like all of the best things about a meatloaf sandwich, but amplified and made better with the addition of masala and spices. It has a melt-in-your-mouth quality, but also has a satisfying crispy crunch to it. We also got the Masala Half Fry, which is a sunny-side up egg buried under Indian-spiced veggies, served with roti. You scoop up the veg and eggs with the flatbread and make little taco bites. Yum. Vegetables and eggs make up a good portion of my everyday diet, so I'm smitten with this Indiana street food joint. But I would not visit with the thought that you are going to get breakfast, despite the rather "brunchy" name. (They don't even open until 11 a.m., so this is not a breakfast restaurant.) Instead, visit with an open mind for lunch or dinner. The menu is rather large and a little confusing to someone who isn't familiar with this type of cuisine. But the service is friendly and the people behind the counter were more than happy to answer questions. Or just pick something and go with it -- you will most likely not be disappointed! The decor in Eggholic is neat: There is Bollywood poster wallpaper on the walls, Bollywood dance clips projected on one wall, and comfortable seating at the tables. The staff was super--but they had a lot of kinks to work out in getting orders done correctly. Twice we were brought someone else's food order and drink. Another great Indian restaurant at 86th and Ditch. This is really becoming quite the ethnic intersection. Eggholic differs from the other 2 Indian restaurants in that it is a fast casual place (chain restaurant) where you order from the counter or order carryout ahead on their website. As you might imagine, the menu is very egg-heavy, but they also have a lot of vegetarian dishes and chicken dishes. For the price, you get quite a bit of food and it has a nice bit of spice to it (you can choose from several heat levels). I highly recommend this place. read more

Our first visit here and we all enjoyed the food and the experience. We walked in, having absolutely no idea what to order. The menu seemed huge, and we were unfamiliar with many or most of the entrees. The employees were very friendly and extremely helpful. They gave each of us a menu, and thoroughly explained the different entrées and sides. They made suggestions, and mentioned that we might want to order several different menu items and share. We were also told, "Tell us what you want and we can make it!" We ended up ordering boiled egg appetizer, Desi omelette, a floating omelette, a paneer and veggie grilled sandwich, lava pulav, and dahi puri. We ordered three different drinks: Mango Lassi, which I have had before, Rajwadi Lassi, and Mango Mastani. The restaurant was spotlessly clean. The dining area is attractively and uniquely decorated. There is a projection tv that was playing the Wild Card game during the time we were dining, which we enjoyed. There are assorted tables of different sizes and booths. A large party arrived and the employees quickly moved several tables together to accommodate. I really appreciated the enthusiasm of the employees. In the wise words of John Green, this corner truly has everything. While I am pretty sure he's left the neighborhood, I hope he has found this amazing addition. We had to study the menu at home because we were a bit confused about what they offered- we like Indian food but we're definitely not connoisseurs and we don't like too much spice. I think we have to go back because the food was so good and we barely scratched the surface of the menu. This is located exactly where Tulip noir used to be many years ago, right next to what used to Sawasdee. The decor inside is very Bollywood movie based and you will see music videos circulating. The staff is very helpful with giving info on how long an item might take or giving tips on menu selections. It seems generally that their sandwiches and chaat get done faster than other entree kind of items. Their chicken chatpata sandwich is very good! I just wish they would slice it in halves instead of quarters, for ease of eating. The paneer sandwich similarly is good. Dahi puri was a bit of a bummer since it was over drenched in yogurt. Samosa was also not hitting the right flavors. Dabeli is good, however they can tone down the pungency a bit to make it more palatable for all. This is our third trip here over 6 months and I have recommended it to a number of friends. Still very good. The corn masala sandwich is very good. I am not a vegetarian but this is a very good sandwich whether you eat meat or not. I ordered a spiced deviled egg. The taste and texture were good but way too salty for my taste. The salt would not have been necessary as the flavors were well done. First thing I have ordered that I did not thoroughly enjoy. Previous review was 5 stars so I could not give 5 stars this time. Oh, man! Have you ever been so excited to check out a place where your foodie belly ate the food before you could take a pic? No? Well, that happened to me after my order and I arrived home. For starters, I ordered the Dahi-Puri. Which is Puffed wafers stuffed with chickpeas and potato, topped with yogurt, chutneys, and other yumminess. Since I didn't dine in, the staff helped tell me how to assemble this chaat once I got home. Oh, wow! This was supper delicious. I started with my directions, then followed the staff's, and at the end, I just mixed it all and licked my plate. (don't judge me, lol) On the road, I took a bite of my Chicken Masala Wrap. I instantly wrapped it back up because it was just too dangerously delicious to eat on the road, even though my husband was driving. I was upset at first by the small size. However, the breading was light, and the meat was plentiful. This makes a great quick bit wrap. I have had mango lassi before, and I was not a huge fan of the thick room-temperature drink. But I thought I would try their version. Needless to say, it is me and not the business - I just don't like mango lassi. I did enjoy taking this only food picture I have. :) I was really sad that I didn't grab a rice dish and some other goodies. This is next level of what you can do with eggs! It's Indian inspired street food using eggs cooked in different forms with gravies heavily seasoned! You order the food at the counter and then they bring it to your choice of seating area. If you need drinks from the menu they'll bring it out but if you want water they have a water station where you get it yourself. Eggholic was the best Indian food I have ever had. Now, I've grown up in Indiana suburbs, so my exposure to Indian cuisine is lacking, but I've been around, and nothing holds a candle to this place. I'll start with the food. I had the Chicken Kadai, which consisted of a mouthwateringly flavorful sauce, blanketing some substantial pieces of succulent, pull apart chicken. I expected good flavor and solid chicken, but what I got was a massive dish of excellently seasoned gravy and perfectly textured chicken. Five stars for sure. I also ordered some Roti, which they recommended, and I just gotta say it, Roti beats Naan. Its tortilla-like texture made for the perfect wrapping paper around my bite-sized gifts of Chicken Kadai.   And as I write this I'm still sipping the Desi Chai I ordered. In the past I've had watered down and sweetened versions of this tea, but this had a really nice spice to it, and delightful flavor.   I have to say, I'm a food first kinda guy, but the service and interior were definitely highlights for me. I expected to come in, find a corner to sit in, pop in my earbuds, and dine alone, but that's not at all how it went. First, I ordered at the counter, where the workers were very helpful, finding the best option for me, as well as the best spice level, given my Indiana upbringing. I opted for "Mild Indian Spice" (my own words), as I wanted some heat, while still being bearable.   After I paid, I reached to my pocket for my buds, but already found myself bobbing my head to the Indian pop music they had playing. And the left wall had a massive Chiefs Dolphins game projected on it, so I sat smack dab in the middle and watched. There was very little wait before my food came out. And my oh my the portion was plentiful. I've already talked about the flavor, but the spice is a whole nother story. I'm Korean, so I've a smidgeon of spice tolerance, but this dish had me SWEATIN. The chef came out to check on the spice, and I'll tell ya the same thing I told him. It had heat, for sure, but not enough to take away from the flavor, which was exceptional. Halfway through my meal I went back up front to order some more Roti, reached for my wallet and my guy was like, nah bro, it's on me. So I gotta shout out my dude, Karthik, because his and everyone else's service was top notch. Everyone there was really friendly, the vibes were on point, and most importantly, the food was FIRE. Such a yummy hidden lunch spot! I wasn't too sure at first as I don't like egg but they had other things than just egg and they were great. I tried the samosa chaat and paneer tikka wrap. I ordered both mild less spicy and there was still some kick to both. The sauce that came with the wrap was sweet spicy which accompanied the food well. I would order both again. Enjoyed being able to try this new spot! I felt the restaurant was clean, open and bright. The staff member that helped me was patient and very kind! I took my food to go and got an extra entree in addition to the wrap. The food was still warm when I got home and had good flavor! Things I did note- the electronic menu behind the counter continues to change which is frustrating if you are trying to read the menu. However, they have a QR code and a printed menu available. The meat in my wrap was really dry and felt like the scarps from the grill. I enjoyed the sauce that came with the wrap and the roti it was wrapped in was delicious! Came here for lunch with a friend of mine and we really enjoyed our experience there. The location is super convenient right off 86th street. It is a very bright, open, and inviting environment that you are greeted with immediately upon walking in. We ordered a chicken masala sandwich and one of their famous egg sandwiches, along with a unique salted butter milk drink. The chicken sandwich was delicious really unique combination of spices that was balanced with the mayo and veggies that were also on the sandwich. The egg sandwich was also surprisingly delicious--much better than any egg salad that was typically found at summer bbqs.
