Actually I would rate it more as a 3.5 stars. I would also stick to just carryout from this place. I think that is what it aims to be, a carryout spot. You order at the counter and you fetch your drinks from the soda fountain. My guest and I were actually planning to go to another Indian restaurant, however, it was closed unexpectedly. We did enjoy the food itself. We started with vegetarian spring rolls which were delicious. I ordered the butter chicken, my go to dish. I enjoyed it a lot. My friend had something vegetarian, but I forgot the name of the dish. She said it ran a bit spicy. I wasn't really into the naan here, it seem rather doughy. The paper plates didn't do it for me, nor did the paper cup for my hot tea. So really just get it carry out, because the food is great, but the ambiance is non-existent. read more

Admittedly I was hesitant trying "Bob's" Indian kitchen due to the Bob and its location, I doubted it's authenticity. I was pleasantly surprised by the Biryani which was absolutely authentic and delicious, and the medium spice was level hit the spot. The curries were perfect. I came back to a second time and tried the buffet. The buffet is not self service which was strange, but the selection was okay. I have passed this place and wanted to go for awhile. We walked in and were warmly welcomed. We ordered up at the counter and they brought it to the table. At first we were the only ones in the restaurant, however more people started to trickle in. We did not wait long and the food was delicious! We finally decided to give this spot a try. Their place is bigger than I thought with numerous tables. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was good - we got the butter chicken & something lentil with dark sauce. We ordered them medium spicy and it did not melt our face - did have some kick though. The lentil dish was yummy with the garlic naan which was nice and fluffy. The butter chicken was good but it I've had better. I say this to mean that the sauce was sweet - I'm used to really deep savory flavor from the spices. I wish I lived closer. We discovered Bob's a little over a year ago by accident and what an accident it was. I ordered the Kadhai Goat expecting the meat to be attached to the bone as usual. It was not and the meat was so tender. The flavor was so much better than the lamb vindaloo that I'm used to ordering. The chili fries were also on point. The kids tore that up and ordering it is now a requirement for going to Bob's. The staff was so nice. On two separate occasions they brought out treats as a dessert for my kids. When my daughter gets a reward for doing well on a big test or in a competition this is where we have to go. read more

So we decided to try Bob's Indian Kitchen for the first time and my husband got food poisoning from it. The garlic naan was super doughy, the chicken masala had maybe 7 pieces of chicken in it and it was super watery. I ordered the Shahi Panner and it looked nothing like what it was described or as the picture on their menu. That was also watery. Additionally - we were charged extra for naan ($2.99 for his plain naan & $4.99 for my garlic naan) when our food was supposed to come with a choice of rice OR naan.. I was also shocked that they had very cheap plastic forks and spoons... if I'm paying almost $50 for a bill- I would expect it to have actual silverware. I would have never drove about 30 minutes away if I knew this what the type of quality we'd be getting. Very disappointing. read more

Today I tried Samosa Chat and also got a dessert called Gajar Halwa which has health benefits as well! You can eat Gajar Halwar hot or cold. It's made with carrots which are packed with vitamins! Gajar Halwar aids in digestion and is anti inflammatory.Great for boosting immunity, good for skin, bones as well as your eyes. Known to be great as a winter treat because it's made with ghee which can help warm your body from within. Which is great living in Indiana! Because I took my order to go I was able to heat some of my dessert up to taste it both hot and cold and found I like it both ways! This is a new Indian restaurant that opened last Thursday in Brownsburg and I was excited to try. I arrived around 3:30 and no one else was there. I wanted to order the Dal Fry but was told they were out of Dal so I went with the Chana Masala instead. I was asked what level of spice I wanted and I chose mild and then was asked if I wanted rice or naan and I got the rice. Their menu has a variety of foods to include appetizers, pizzas, chicken and vegetarian options. I ordered my food to go and it came out quickly. I think the portion size should be a bit more with the amount paid but my Chana Masala was really good. I am looking forward to trying more items on the menu soon. read more

Finally got to try Bob's tonight. I called my order in because it's a cold and rainy night and I wanted to enjoy my food while cuddled up on the couch. I got the chicken biryani and gulab jamun and was told they would call me when my food was ready. I actually was on my way to the restaurant when they called. The biryani was delicious and well spiced. Sadly, the chicken they used was chicken breast and the meat was dry so I ate very little of that. Still a great meal and that yogurt sauce with the rice gives a cooling effect if you find it spicy. I would get the dish again but would not get the meat. The gulag jamun is two fried dough balls in a slightly sweet sauce. The sauce is the star and has just the right amount of sweetness. Overall a great meal and I would eat here again. I saw some other reviews that mentioned that the food is expensive. I didn't think the price was too far off what other Indian restaurants I've been to are charging. read more

Blah blah especially for Indian food. Got mild butter chicken and instead of rice I got garlic naan bread. Anywhere else I go for butter chicken I've not been asked if you want it mild, medium or spicy it's just butter chicken. I ordered mild in case they made their version spicy since they asked what spice level I wanted. Disappointing after looking at the other high reviews. Butter chicken- no flavor at all on the chicken. It's small pieces of cut up chicken breast and it's dry. You can tell it is NOT cooked with the sauce. Sauce is thrown in after. No seasoning at all on the chicken just pure white dry chicken. The sauce was runny and foamy with very little flavor. It's hard to cook Indian food and not have any flavor but they've managed to do it. The garlic naan didn't have any butter or garlic flavor at all and it was rubbery and stretchy. This was a flop. I basically just wasted $16 before tax. Definitely won't be back. The naan bread they gave some other customers inside looked like it was the right texture and butter on it, but the garlic naan bread I got was not good. Placing the Togo order the lady had a little hard time understanding that I wanted garlic naan bread instead of the rice. But she was really pleasant and nice when I got there. Really disappointed in the food taste- I was really hoping to find a new regular Indian food spot. I don't like spicy food but love butter chicken and unfortunately this was a miss! We were excited to come here due to the high ratings but didn't enjoy our main course. The vegetarian samosas were the best we've ever tasted and the naan was good, a little too fluffy instead of crispy. The owner and wait staff were pleasant. The place is extremely clean and new, modern. All plusses. BUT the palak paneer and chicken tikka masala dishes were tooooo soupy and lacking in het and flavor. Imagine a liquified, runny entree. Went with medium spice. I don't like spicy but my husband wants it super hot so we settled in the middle. It wasn't too spicy for me. I liked both but really liked the butter chicken. The naan was good too. My only issue is the price. It's very expensive and not something we will be able to afford often. Spending $40 on two people to eat. It doesn't look like they offer a lunch menu so grabbing a meal for myself would be be more than $20. Yikes. read more

Decent new small restaurant in brownsburg. Been waiting for it to open all winter. Their food was great. Besides the entrees we also got vegetable samosas and spring rolls. The veg samosas definitely had a kick but loved by all. The palak paneer was a bit underwhelming and needed some spices. Butter chicken was amazing and the garlic naan was fresh and hot. Most of our food came out Luke warm but it was so good we didn't mind. Very excited to have another Indian option in brownsburg you can actually sit and dine in. I super wish they offered a small buffet with 4-5 dishes on it, at least for lunch. This allows people to try different types of food without spending the $60 we spent today among the 3 of us. I'm so happy that Bob's Indian Kitchen has blessed Brownsburg with its presence! My husband and I went all out and got everything we wanted and it was all so so good! I ordered the butter chicken, mild, and the flavor was amazing and the portions great too. My husband ordered curry chicken, medium, and it was also delicious. Both entrees came with rice or naan (we both chose rice and ordered a side of naan). We got samosas chaat as an appetizer and they were just amazing. I have seriously considered going back just to get an order to go. It's the perfect combination of spicy and sweet, crunchy and soft. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. We also tried the garlic chili fries which were spicy and so flavorful! Finally, for dessert we tried the gajar halwa: shredded carrots with spices and condensed milk (I think). It was amazing! Bob's Indian Kitchen is a great addition to Brownsburg. We have desperately needed an Indian restaurant. My husband and I ordered the Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, garlic Naan, and chicken Samosas. Here are our opinions of each: -Samosas we're good, but definitely over priced. There are other Indian restaurants that serve the same sized samosas for just $2 each. -Tikka Masala was our favorite. We got it medium spiced and it was the perfect amount of heat. -Garlic Naan was our least favorite. It was cheesy, super flat, and more like an over cooked tortilla than traditional naan bread. This could be because we came in at the end of the night and picked up our food to go, but definitely do not recommend buying. -Butter chicken was just "eh". Not good, not entirely bad. It was a little too thick and tomatoey for us. The chicken was also very chewy in the bitter chicken va tikka masala. read more

Family dinner of 4 was a challenge in the rain, but that was not stopping us from trying this amazing Indian take-out and sit-in found off Main Street in Brownsburg. The owners were nice enough to make good suggestions for the kids, brought the food to the tables, and all around, made for an enjoyable meal. We highly recommend the Goat Kadhai. Not only is it the owner's favorite, but it was one of the more unique items found on the menu compared to some standard fair we tried. We also did very much like the Butter Chicken with a sweet creamy tomato sauce and the Palak Paneer with the spicy creamy sauce. All meals we chose with rice, but still also purchased the warm butter naan, which comes in wedges. Finally we topped it all off with a classic Gulab Jamun. The menu said it was only 2 pieces, but we got three per serving. We highly recommend Bob's for authentic fresh and delicious Indian cuisine that the whole family will love! read more

We stopped into this place for dinner and what a happy little find. Parking is easy and accessible, the restaurant is clean and even for a Monday night there was a steady crowd of people coming, dining in and taking food to go. The woman at the register was helpful and polite. She even help me to pronounce some of the items. We found a seat and a gentleman brought our food out quickly. It was hot and delicious. First time to try Bob's Indian kitchen today and it won't be the last time we'll be there! What a wonderful new restaurant to add to Brownsburg! I don't really know much about Indian food but the young man behind the counter was super helpful and guided me along. In the end I got Chicken Tikka Masala and Deborah got Butter Chicken. We got it to go and we brought it home for our dinner. Neither of us had any idea what to expect and as we polish it off right now we're both smiling from here to ear. Absolutely fantastic meal! The inside of the restaurant is clean as a whistle! The dining room is beautiful and the counter looks terrific. It's only our first time there, but I can't recommend it highly enough.
