A friend took us here and honestly I probably wouldn't have visited by the low reviews and stars but it seems that they've recently changed ownership, and it seems for the better. All I can say is....It is about time there is a stellar Indian restaurant here in town! And you guys-it's wonderful!!! Not only are they offering some typical dishes like Veggie Samosas Chicken Tikka, Tandoori offerings ect., but they also have non- traditional items! Under old management this place used to not have any taste to their food. But they have renewed their management and food tastes much better. The staff are incredibly polite and nice. They have a lot of options to choose from and have many vegetarian options as well. They do dine in and sit down as well. They do sweets package in gift boxes too. The do not have outside seating and have plenty of parking space. Their ambience is good but the decor could be better for an Indian restaurant. The food we had was great. Ample portions, reasonable prices, friendly but slow service. I tried the Shrimp Tikki Marsala and I must say these were the best shrimp I had in a long time. Shrimp are so easily overcooked, leaving them rubbery and chewy. These were done to perfection, done but nice and tender juicy shrimp surrounded by a bucket of tikki sauce that went so well over the rice. I highly recommend this dish. My friend had a dish with chick peas and spinach (forgot the name of it unfortunately) and it was also delicious. A big bowl of it. I'm not usually into vegetarian dishes, but I snarfed this one up. Very good I must admit. The garlic naan was wonderful. Nice flavor, nice and soft with just enough little crunch on the sides to make things interesting. Why not 5 stars? Well the service while friendly seems a little unorganized and rather slow. And the location just bites. No direct access off Rockville. You have to go to the light to the Target Plaza, turn in as if you are going to Best Buy, but then take an immediate left. Follow that street past the actual building of the restaurant, then turn in left behind the building and follow the road around the building to the front to find a parking spot there. This place is located off the Main Street in Avon. It's not hard to get to, but when you walk in it is a little sad. I went on a Thursday evening around 7pm. A lot of door dash and over the phone orders were coming in so I thought it was a good option. I ordered to go took approximately 20 mins not too long. I got home and tasted the food and it was not as flavorful as I've had before. The food was hot and the quantity was large, I ordered medium spice level and it practically had no spice at all. My brother and I decided to go out for dinner and I saw this place out of the corner of my eye a couple days before. So we decided to try it. We chose correctly. The food was in good portions and perfectly seasoned and spiced. When I picked from the menu I looked in the vegetarian and there was a huge list. The biriyani was a large portion size, which is nice. The biriyani is more of a dry dish, but I was expecting a sauce on the side (which I am used to being served with in UK). I prefer my naan breads to be thicker, this naan bread served here was on the thin side. This was seriously good food. This was our first time eating here, and we ordered take out online. The process was painless, but I highly recommend going in person or at least calling your first time. I don't have a high spice tolerance, but I'm usually fine ordering mild. That was so not the case here. My family of 6 (all except my husband, who thought the medium was perfect) drank so much milk to offset the "mild" entrees! We've gotten carryout from Mint a few times now and the food has always been delicious. I don't have any pictures to post, because we usually dig in and devour the food before I think about taking one. Their vegetable samosas are delicious, as are their vegetarian paneer dishes. Absolute worst experience for takeout. We ordered $70 worth of takeout. Drive 20 mins to try their food for the first time. The bag is stapled shut and they were friendly inside. So I assumed with the recipient being stapled to my bag that it was correct. However when I arrived home I found out that it was completely wrong. When I called we explained what was wrong and they said they would make it. When I arrived back a new bag was waiting. It was still missing food. I had pictures of what I received and they argued with me about that they had given me. At this point I felt completely scammed. I had received two items from my 10 Item order. None of my entrees. None of the deserts. How do you give someone there food and not even check if their entrees or items that are blatantly on the receipt are in the bag. I've never left a bad review anywhere. But I've also never been treated this poorly or had this much of my time wasted by a restaurant. Never spend your hard earned money at this establishment. They don't deserve it. Edit.... After going back for the missing food items with my receipt they accused me of lying. Then proceeded to make me wait another 20 mins for a small portion of a $17.99 shrimp dinner we had purchased and didn't receive. Well we placed our order at 8:30. They close at 10PM. I left after 10PM disgusted. Only to arrive home to find they still are incompetent idiots. First thing we notice is massive hair stuck to the bottom our a lid. Clearly visible without even opening the lid. It's stuck inside to the food! They still didn't provide more than half of our items. We got ZERO RICE. All entrees come with rice and you gave us none. We ordered four garlic Naans. We received what I posted a picture of. How stupid can you be. Not to mention the owner is who brought out the food the first time. So here I am at home with all half my food I paid $70 for. So I decided to not eat anything so I can take it back tomorrow for my refund. Well they just so happen to not be open the next day. Of course even though google said they were open. So now I will be going back Monday. I have never felt so taken advantage of by a restaurant of all places.m! Didn't even try your food but it looked like trash compared to others in the area. We cook and dine Indian cuisine very often. But this establishment deserves to go under faster than sooner. I visited Mint for the first time today. This small strip center doesn't have direct access off Rockville Rd. Turn North at the light onto Shiloh Crossing Drive and come in from behind the building. The interior is warm, inviting and cozy. Seating options are booths along the exterior of the room with 4-top tables in the center of the room. I went for carryout and decided to go with the lunch buffet for the variety. The small lunch buffet is $10.99 (includes soft drink) and has 10 items on the hot line. I only glanced at the menu but it appeared fairly extensive. With carryout container in hand, I loaded it up with basmatic rice (little dried out), chicken tiki marsala, chicken curry, palak paneer, and tandoori chicken, and 2 others that I forget the name. Everything ranged from hot to warm temperature wise. I also received a small bowl so I could take cold items home. I chose the mango and rice puddings. The Mango pudding was very tasty and my favorite of the two. I liked everything I tried but especially the chicken tiki marsala. Large chucks of tender chicken and I poured a lot of sauce over the rice to enjoy with my garlic naan. The chicken curry was tender and flavorful. The spinach dish was extremely good with lots of spice. The server wasn't chatty but was attentive, polite and got me in and out quickly. I look forward to going back and dining in. read more

I believe I have found my new favorite Indian restaurant and I'm SO glad it's so close to home! I came in right before they were closing for lunch (2:45 ish) I felt awful for arriving so late but everyone was so nice, polite and welcoming! Now, let's get to the food!!! The photo does not do it justice. Everything is fresh and authentic. Just the right amount of spice and great flavor. Avon, Indiana has just been blessed with an amazing Indian restaurant. We moved here three years ago and had not found any decent Indian food on this side of Indy. The moment I saw they were open for business I stopped in (not realizing that they had just closed at 3pm for their dinner, they served me anyway) to sample the food and get a Togo menu. I only order the vegi samosa's with chutneys since it was a very late lunch. I can't wait to go back and sample more of the menu and their buffet. The restaurant decor is also very nice, it is definitely an all ockind of restaurant Since my first post I have been back to enjoy the lunch buffet and was greatly pleased. They pride themselves on being "The Best Indian in Avon, IN," but I hate to put the brass tacks down and say it is among the worst Indian restaurants I've gotten food from and I've been to many across the country. For starters, my garlic naan was undercooked. The tomato soup was very watered down and bland. Ordering it spicy meant a ton of chili powder was tossed in. The tamarind sauce is absolutely disgusting and tastes almost exactly like banana ketchup. And don't get me wrong, I love some banana ketchup but that is NOT the flavor profile one should be expecting from tamarind sauce. I don't want to constantly belittle the entire meal so I will end things on a somewhat positive note. The chicken jalfrezi was at least edible. The flavor was incredibly muted though. I ordered it spicy but it had no heat at all. Could have definitely benefited with a generous pinch of salt. Prices are cheap but the quality definitely reflects as such. Finally, ethnic food comes to Avon. Hidden amongst chain restaurants, is little gem that recently opened December 2018 near the IRC music on US-36 and Ronald Regan Parkway. The food here is flavorful, aromatic, and downright fantastic. Our selections we're chicken saag, and chicken jalfrezzi at a medium-hot spice level, which was perfect for our pallets. The saag was creamy, chicken tender and perfectly cooked and went awesome with the bazmati rice that came with the dish. The jalfrezzi was also a spicy gravy like dish, with peas, peppers and onions and too, came with rice. Portion are plentiful and easily split a dish between 2 people with no left overs. We opted for 2 appetizers, the veggies somosas (spiced mashed potatoes with peas and other veggies wrapped in a pie-dough wonton shaped fried goodie) and veggie pakora (spiced battered deep fried potatoe slices and cauliflower). We recommend the somosas. They are filling and very flavorful if you like potatoes. I recommend the garlic naan, which is cooked in clay ovensso it has cripsy dark spots but is still soft to rip and eat. Naans are separate from your dishes. Negative:. It's not the cheapest and maybe not supposed to me. About $13 per entree, you can rack up a decent tab quickly. To save cost, order a single entree, split between 2 people, with a somosa appetizer and naan. You both could eacape around $25.00 They offer a lunch buffet, at $10.99, but haven't tried that. Very friendly on the phone and inside, but the experience after was anything but pleasant. After driving 20 minutes one way to pick up our order, I arrived home to find over half our order missing. Called to let them know what was missing, drove back to pick up said food, double check before I leave and there is still food missing. Wait around for 10 more minutes, finally am able to leave with hopefully all my food. Get home, again, to not only see it's still not correct, but also find a hair in our dessert. The family all went for a late (for us) meal at Mint and really enjoyed it. The kids (10, 8, and 5) all really, REALLY enjoyed the Tikka Masala kids meal. They were generous portions and really good. My wife also got the Tikka Masala, but a bit spicier. It was honestly some of the best we've ever had. I personally ordered the Lamb Vindaloo. While decent, I probably won't order it again. The sauce was just a bit off (maybe prepackaged?) and the lamb had a bit too much fat relative to the length it had been simmered (not long enough). Again, not bad, just not something I'd get again. This is very long overdue. Avon has needed an Indian restaurant for a very long time. I can be very critical at times but was hoping for the best. When we first walked in I liked the atmosphere which was clean and somewhat elegant for the type of place it is. The lighting was great. It became much better when they began playing the music. The (muted) Indian Rap videos in the background were highly entertaining. THE FOOD The nan was outstanding. I thought that the chicken Tiki could have had a little more kick but it was still decent and the goat and lamb made up for it. Also the chicken curry was a good spice level.
