    Combo Kung Pao Chicken

Ordered delivery through DoorDash and was amazed. WOW. Can only imagine how good this would be in house!!! The kung pao chicken combo was absolutely immaculate, perfect. The pork fried rice is what I've always wanted it to taste like - not too salty, big chunks of pork, perfectly cooked. 10/10, will order again.

Holy moly, Egg Roll King is a Chinese sleeper agent of some sort. You roll up to this really sketchy looking, poorly maintained restaurant front, possibly assuming someone lives in the commercial space directly to the left of it. You dare to risk your life by going inside to also be underwhelmed and concerned. But then you get through all of that, you open your plastic container of a food and take your first bite and all doubts are removed....Egg Roll King is king of Chinese food in Savannah. I got the General Tso's lunch special and it was enough food for lunch and dinner and boy was it fantastic. The chicken seemed to be of high quality and was cooked nice and crispy with just the perfect amount of sauce. Broccoli was not overcooked and had a small crunch to it as well. I opted for white rice but I'll try the fried rice next time. Ironically I got a shrimp egg roll and it was my least favorite part of the meal lol. Next time I'll just opt for the food which is amazing. Really decent prices as well. I recommend just calling in your order and picking it up versus going in and waiting in person.

The most gigantic wonton I have ever seen! Delicious!

Went back for the amazing shrimp egg rolls. Decided to try the wonton soup. Um, yeah!!!

Doesn't respect customers. Called in for an order and when there was a confusion on their end the man hung up in my face.

Best fast Chinese food in the 912. Hands down. The wonton soup is my favorite. I've never ordered from here and been disappointed.

The following review: Service - An employee by the name of Colin, who helped me at the register and take my order was very friendly, welcoming, and very patient with me. He was able to explain things to me on the menu while I was trying to decide on things. Food - I ordered, a bowl of rice, gyoza, chicken karaage, a tonkatsu ramen with char siu. Everything was well cooked, tasted great, the gyoza and chicken was nice hot and crispy. Ambiance - I'm not really an anime person but I appreciate the overall idea and concept. Verenice was the BEST! Give that girl a raise or a promotion! She was doing it all! From taking orders, bringing food out, and cleaning up tables! She helped us navigate the menu/ordering. She also brought out our food to the table and was so helpful during our first time here. There were lots of ramen options to choose from. You choose your broth and meat option and that tells you your price. You can add extra toppings for additional costs. Runs about less than $20 a person. They have fountain drink options as well as other Asian drinks. They have rice bowl options as well as meat on a stick. They don't have kids meal options but it's about $8 for noodles and broth. Which is a good option for kids. I ordered shoyu broth for my son. I didn't realize it would taste so salty. I understand it's a soy sauce broth. But most ramen broths I've had isn't to that degree. I asked if they could add hot water to the hot water to make it less salty. Verenice again was so helpful, she brought the ramen back out and said if I needed more water added to just ask. I will say I did not appreciate the additional comments from some of the kitchen staff. The place is decorated with lots of anime characters. They have a vending machine with goodies. A claw machine with stuffed animals and lots of Pokémon cards for sale.

Saigon Cafe on Waters Ave. closed, and that was the last place I knew in Savannah that served that exquisite, clear soup. I always get chicken soup (pho ga). The new owners are doing good work, but I'd been spoiled. The broth doesn't have the depth, and it isn't hot enough. It's gotta come smoking, fogging glasses, clearing sinuses. But Boomy's brings the broth. I've been there two or three times, and it's my new pho go-to. The noodles are wider than At Saigon Cafe, but that's fine; they hold their bite longer without getting mushy. Please note: Boomy's is a bar on Congress Street in Downtown Savannah. It's wheelchair accessible and laid back. A Dad out with his two young boys asked if one kid could use the bathroom and was welcomed ... no purchase, no hesitation. And a lady in a wheelchair with her companion and her dog ducked in for a soft drink and a rest. Everyone's welcome. Nothing about its façade or dive-bar vibe suggests it serves bangin' Vietnamese food. Waitstaff is quick to show you the burger menu on the back, in case pho isn't your jam. Because they serve Thai food as well, they're careful to have you choose your heat level. They're happy to give you pepper flakes on the side and Sriracha at the table. But my pho didn't need it. My lunch companion got the rare beef pho. The hot soup came with thin slices of beef wrapping in foil on the side. Drop it in and it cooks. Looked delicious. My pho ga was amazing. I rarely can eat it all, but I did that day. My only minor complaint is that the bean sprouts looked a little less than fresh, but I'm not a big fan of them in soup anyway. Didn't slow me up one bit. But I AM a big fan of their cucumber and tomato salad. Cukes, chopped tomatoes, grated carrots, and maybe grated radish were all dressed with fish sauce, maybe rice vinegar, and a little sugar. If I'd had some cilantro I would have added it; cilantro is expensive these days. Can't blame them for not including it. It may be available by request. Oh, and try the cocktails. I had the tequila cooler and subbed watermelon vodka for cucumber vodka. So refreshing. Go to Boomy's. Get there on one of the few remaining cool days of spring. Or if you come down with a spring cold. Or if you work downtown in an office meat locker, go to warm up from the inside out. It's worth the hunt for parking.
