Menu boards are faded and the prices are missing. The business has a small seating area and the take-out menu is pretty standard. Besides the good food, the most noticeable thing about the place would be the eclectic art. DH had Sesame Chicken (his 'go to') and I chose the Bourbon Chicken dinner combos. I have been ordering from Happy Wok more often than I should, but that's only because of how consistently great the food has been each time. So far I have tried the General Tso Chicken, which was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy and with a thin but crisp breading. The Bourbon Chicken is outstanding and keeps me coming back. The House Special Chow Mein Fun is oh so good, thin rice noodles sautéed with vegetables, pork, chicken, and shrimp. And the boneless spare ribs are addicting. All have been ordered as dinner combos, which come with a soda and egg roll. The flavors are delicious, the portions are generous and I always have enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. I just want Chinese and this is the closest place to me. First off, it's hot as blazes in the restaurant. The restaurant is dirty and so is the kitchen. The bathroom is unsanitary and the motion activated paper towel dispenser is broken. How are employees washing and drying their hands before returning to work?!? The young lady up front is a sweetheart and very personable. The cooler with drinks contains the Walmart Great Value brand sodas and 12 packs of coke products that are not intended for individual resale. Also, NO UNSWEETENED TEA. This is tragic. UPDATE: I got my to go order home and the food was horrible. I got the spicy chicken and it was like rubber covered in a nasty BBQ sauce. The rice is yellow with pork. It wasn't terrible but definitely not Chinese fried rice. I ordered extra crispy wontons for my soup and did not get any. I had been CRAVING sh**** "Chinese" and decided to indulge myself & our teenager, who is a good example of autism w/self-limited diet. The plain fried rice was for him as I don't want him to take straight shots of soy sauce and it mildly (barely mentionable) stretches the sauce. Since it was our first try of Chinese food in Richmond Hill/Savannah I ordered all of the low brow faves to sample: crab rangoon, ck. fried rice, plain fr rice, shrimp lo mein, chicken with broccoli (Now I'm hungry, but not for Happy Wok) & steamed dumplings. Positives: steamed dumplings and dipping sauce were good, chicken w/broccoli was cooked well. Desk person told me to pick a 2 liter of my choice out of the cooler since my order was over a certain dollar amount, if only it hadn't been Big K; not much of a financial bonus. Negatives: lacking seasoning across the board, mushy noodles, lack of "rangoon" filling which is typically cream cheese, sugar and imitation crab (couldn't identify flavor from tiny filling remaining) and tends to be sweet, bizarrely yellow & hard-as-rocks rice used in fried rice. The kid did NOT finish his which was a SHOCK to me and an indicator of how sub-mediocre it was. No condiments & couldn't locate chopsticks.The teen has adaptive chopsticks due to motor challenges & indicates the frequency with which we eat pan-Asian places - we are learned eaters of ethnic foods. I ordered shrimp fried rice (extra shrimp), steamed dumplings and an egg roll. My bill was $18. Caught off guard by the total I reasoned with myself that maybe they have quality food. The portions were very small. The egg rolls look like finger food and the rice plate was not full (I could see the corners of my plate). Despite the size, the egg roll was pretty good. The decor is nice, I saw some previous reviews that said it was hot inside, but they added 2 fans and it's cool in here, we ordered general tso chicken, chicken lo mein and crab Rangoon, three classic dishes for any Chinese food place, the kitchen looked pretty dirty.
