Stopped by China Wok for Friday lunch and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered pork spring rolls, BBQ ribs, a pepper steak lunch special, chow mein special, and beef & broccoli. Every dish had great flavor and felt fresh, especially for a lunch combo. I definitely want to come back again to try their regular menu outside of the specials. The atmosphere is simple but cozy--it's more of a takeout spot with about three tables and a pickup window. Still, it felt welcoming, and the food spoke for itself. The best Chinese option in Savannah, and I mean it! Family owned and operated, this spot is sure to make you feel invited while also serving up the most incredible dishes you crave. The first and most important item I must tell you about on the menu is their crab rangoons. A MUST! They give you 8 to start off with. Other places give you 4-6. However, the price is the same as other spots and they pack them very generously with the delicious cream cheese and imitation crab mixture. I dream about these things. Next, is the Mongolian beef. A classic but they do it perfectly here. The sauce is tangy but not too sweet or salty and I love all of the different vegetables that it is served with. I think I found my favorite Chinese food in the area! We were craving Chinese food but the location we usually visited didn't answer so I guess we can call it FATE. The location is located in the shopping center off of 204. It was a quiet afternoon but the location was clean and secluded. There's numerous parking spots in the area. We called our order in ahead and the associate that answered the phone took our order and repeated it 2, talk about striving for accuracy! That's extra points. FOOD: as I mentioned before the food was basically perfect. The quantities were vast and for 4 plates and some appetizers we ended up paying $57. Considering all of the food we got, the price seemed fair. They do charge extra for chili oil which surprised me but I just had to get it. FINAL VERDICT: I will definitely be coming back here. Let me be honest when I tell you that this is the BEST Chinese takeout I've ever had anywhere! The food is guaranteed HOT, fresh, and made to order every single time. And you will not be waiting more than 10 to 15 minutes for your order no matter how busy they are. I still don't know how they do it lol. Plain Fried Rice Was very good, but wish I had something's in it like vegetables or some type of green onion. My husband did but not mine. Which is weird to me lol. Best Chinese food in Georgetown. Hands down! I always get the orange chicken as spicy as they can make it, which sometimes isn't spicy but it's still amazing. I also order the crab Rangoon. Chicken wings are phenomenal. Same with their steamed bao buns. My wife always gets the sesame chicken or Lo mein which is always pretty bangin. My only complaints is the shrimp sauce isn't the best and they need to have hibachi bowls or pad Thai on the menu! If they did they would run the 2 other Asian spots across the way out of business! The soup had a slight sweetness to it, that I didn't expect. Probably catering to American tastes, which I understand. Only Chinese food I eat in the world. I've been eating food from here my whole life. I no longer live in Savannah but when I'm in town visiting family this is a must stop. I was in Savannah a couple of weeks ago and I ate here almost everyday of the week. My fav is the shrimp egg foo young, with a side of broccoli cooked in brown sauce. They also have the best fried chicken. Everything is always cook fresh and ready in no longer than 15 minutes. On my last trip I tried the lemonade and omg the best lemonade ever! As far as the decor there is none it's a small business with 4 tables inside and the location is in a small shopping center located right off of 204. Service is quick and the prices are reasonable.
