Very, very average Chinese food. I tried chicken mei fun for the first time and it tasted like bland noodles. Definitely needs some kick to it. If I have to go here again I will probably just stick to the typical General Tso's chicken. read more

I would actually give this place a 3 1/2. The place is nice and clean. The employees are very friendly and pleasant. The food was fresh and came out fairly quick which is good when visiting for lunch. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and my friend got the General Tso's. So here's the thing, both dishes were very, very spicy. I know, I know, both of those dishes are supposed to be spicy, but they were so spicy that my friend couldn't eat but about half of his. I like spicy food and I ate all of mine but it wasn't easy and my nose was pouring by the time I finished! I don't know if there was something going on that day because a party of 4 came in after us and they returned their food because it was so spicy. Ordered vegetable fried rice and it was very good. It had broccoli, fresh mushrooms and onions. I also ordered garlic wings and fries. I'm not sure why but the wings were sitting in a pool of red sauce and they had a spicy flavor. It did have somewhat of a garlic flavor but it was just overall confusing. The wings weren't crispy either so I won't order them again. The fries were ok but sitting awhile they weren't crispy either. Flavors are good at this location but you have to know what to order from their menu. read more

I'm here to review the honey wings specifically. Now I don't know about the other food on the menu, but honey when I tell you these honey wings make you wanna dance and praise the gospel and slap yo aunties sister in the mouth and not say sorry. Somehow, they took a sweet and sour sauce and made it taste like sweet and sour bbq sauce... and that sauce tastes nothing like honey but it was so so so good, especially on the fries. The chicken was ok. So I'm basically rating the sauce at this point and I'm ok with that. Even though the sauce doesn't taste completely homemade , the processed calories are worth it fam. Idk what it is about Chinese places in Savannah/Pooler area but these good reviews are not accurate! The sesame chicken was chewy and bright orange with a sauce that didn't really taste like much but had hints of sweetness. The General Tso chicken looked exactly the same as the sesame chicken and tasted almost identical, except maybe a bit more like ketchup. The beef fried rice was very bland. The eggs rolls were.. so not normal I don't think I've ever had an egg roll like this and I was not liking it. It was mushy with some kind of imitation seafood flavors, hard pass. I have never had bad food or service here. I have forgotten my drinks before and they called me to make sure I was aware of this and remembered me the next time and gave me my drinks at that time. Yes, it is your typical american Chinese food, but it's good and haven't had better in pooler. I have no complaints about this establishment. read more

I have been to most of the Chinese takeout places in the Pooler/Bloomingdale area, as my family and I love good Chinese food. This is the second time I have been here. The first time, I was suitably impressed by them, but tonight I can't make that claim. I don't know if they've changed ownership or chefs, but most of what we got was just so-so. The egg drop soup was very bland, and mostly broth. The shrimp with lobster sauce, while flavorful, was the consistency of the egg drop soup, and had nothing but shrimp and imitation crab (most recipes include some vegetables, like peas and carrots, possibly mushrooms). Certainly not worth the price. The house special mei fun was decent, but no different than most places I've been to. The sesame chicken was a little too sweet for my taste, but not okay. All in all, the meal so far was not great, but not too horrible either. The one item that I ordered that really disappointed me was the hot and sour soup. I basically judge most places largely based on how good their hot and sour is. Without mincing words, this was the most under-whelming hot and sour I've ever had. It was neither hot nor sour in the least. It had none of the good stuff most places include, like pork and chicken bits, bamboo shoots, or clouds ear mushrooms and lotus flower blooms (included at the better restaurants). It was basically egg drop soup with mushrooms, a little tofu, some bok choy and a shot of soy sauce. Extremely bland and disappointing. I even added more red pepper and some rice vinegar that I had at home, and then it was passable. After my family ingested the $43 worth of food, I threw their menu in the trash. I will stick with Phoenix restaurant in Bloomingdale, or New Super Buffet in Pooler (who also has a takeout menu), both of which have excellent food and exceptional hot and sour soup. *as a side note, their shrimp sauce was a weird florescent orange color, and half of the fortune cookies didn't even have fortunes in them. read more

I read reviews on Yelp about this place and did not expect greatness but what else is around Pooler. I ordered Singapore Mie Fun, Steamed dumplings, Fried chicken wings and hot and sour soup, Singapore barely had adequate seasoning very little shrimp and meat, dumplings are frozen not home made and no flavor, and not enough, I could see the bottom of the foil container all the way around.Hot and sour soup lacked any spice, watery,very soft mushy probably sat all day. Wings dried out, too small, I spent 24.00 on this. When I picked the bag up I had to double check because bag felt as though it was missing something, this is what happens when it is over cooked and moisture is cooked out. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I will give one star just for the dumpling dipping sauce and fried noodles. read more

YUCK! Went here the other day for lunch. Tried it based on positive Google reviews; what a disappointment. The place is a shabby hole in the wall, with only a couple of tables, yellow linoleum floor and a decidedly fishy/rotting food odor. The menu was a list of standard Americanized Chinese dishes. I decided to try two items; Pepper Steak and Sesame Chicken. The Pepper Steak was just a non-descript melange of green peppers, onions, and meat in a gooey salty brown sauce, edible but just. The Sesame Chicken was awful; the chicken was low grade borderline rancid, soggy from being deep fried in old oil, then smothered in a gluey sickly sweet sauce, it was inedible, and fearing food poisoning I tossed it in the bin. MeiJia falls far short of par, look elsewhere for Chinese food. read more
