This was our second visit to Klom Klom Thai Restaurant in Savannah, and this time we came for lunch after having previously tried dinner. Overall, I'd say our first visit had slightly better food and service, but this experience was still decent. The restaurant is small and located in a strip mall next to the Pancake House. Service was good considering there was only one waitress handling orders for the entire restaurant, with an assistant helping to clear tables. My husband ordered the Tom Kha soup, and I ordered the Tom Yum, though we were both served Tom Kha by mistake. He also enjoyed his eggplant dish with fried tofu. My Sukiyaki Thai Haeng was just okay--not something I would order again, but the menu offers plenty of other dishes I'd be willing to return and try. We were too full to order our favorite mango sticky rice for dessert, unfortunately. One thing worth noting: there is a 5% discount for paying with cash and a 3% credit card fee, which we weren't informed about until after paying with a credit card (saw it on our receipt). Lunch for two was $64. Overall, a solid neighborhood Thai spot with a wide variety of options, though there's room for improvement. read more

This makes my second visit here and I've enjoyed both visits and will definitely visit again whenever I'm in the area. I ordered the Pad See Ew with porkbelly, it was to die for. My daughter ordered the Egg Fried Rice with Chicken that was so delicious, some of the best fried rice ever. I also ordered Thai Pink Milk, I enjoyed my Thai drink so much. The staff is so nice and helpful. The bathrooms were nicely decorated and very clean. My daughter enjoyed visiting here so much she came out the very next day on her lunch break. If a business is using third party delivery, please make sure to package it so that the customer can tell if their food has been tampered with!!!! I ordered take out and one thing about take out that is really important to me is how the packaging of the food is done for my own peace of mind: restaurants need to put the food in a paper bag with a sticker seal. They need to also staple it if possible. This ensures there is no tampering with the food. Otherwise I do not know for sure. The food was good but not a lot of it. This is a small but nice Thai place tucked between two other larger establishments. Menu has a nice selection of appetizers and entrees. We had the tofu and satay for appetizers. Tofu was delicious and satay was acceptable but I would suggest something else. Entrees were Panang curry with shrimp and Massaman avocado curry with chicken. Both were excellent. Also had the Thai iced coffee. Delicious. Dinner and appetizers came to about $50 per person with tip. (No bar tab) So - a little pricy. But a very good meal. read more

Next time I would ask for slightly hotter. Every plate that went out from the kitchen had so much food. The place is nonstop busy. Anna was our waitress and so incredibly kind. When you enter you will find a small space, but it has been utilized well with the tables. That is the majority of the space. There is a small bar area, and the kitchen in back. The menu has a wide variety to choose from. There is something to please every palate. You get a choice of spice level. I chose medium with my dish to be safe. I will say next time I will up the heat. Because I like a little kick. I got the pork boat noodles. They were delicious! Well seasoned and the pork was tender. The vegetables were not overcooked. The service was great. Our server was attentive. My friend was going to order the mango sticky rice. They told us the mango was not ready yet. Instead of putting mango on the dish that was not ready. Some restaurants would just to make the sale. I greatly appreciated their honesty. Next time I will try ordering to go. I saw quite a few people picking up to go orders. I absolutely enjoyed eating here. This hidden gem next to Top Crab is a small, quaint little restaurant with nice decor and friendly smiles when you walk in. Came here on Monday evening for dinner, and when we entered, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our waiter, Andrew, was very nice and attentive and he made sure the kitchen got our orders right. Apps we got: basil roll and fried tofu (I forgot a pic of the tofu and almost forgot to capture the basil roll, but got one. They are a pretty decent size.) The fried tofu was surprisingly good with the sweet chili sauce (and not fried too hard). Mains we got: fried rice (one with chicken and one with salmon) and green curry with vegetables. Wow! My wife and I love Thai food and they did not disappoint! We are vegetarians and the hostess quickly acknowledged that and said they can make the necessary adjustments to the spicy edamame. We both had curries, panang and masaman) and managed to finish all of the food but we were stuffed when we left. The restaurant seems to be family owned. This restaurant is bitter sweet. Pros: their flavorful recipes are fantastic. The chef even takes the time to julienne the vegetables. Kudos for the carrot design and his amazing attention to detail. Cons: we ordered the Orange Chicken and Crispy Lime Chicken. Both came with fried chicken that was so over cooked it was hard as a rock. It was literally like chewing on a leather shoe. The breaded chicken nuggets are cut in dramatically different sizes so the smaller sizes are overcooked like chicken jerky, while the larger sizes are extra well done. The cook in charge of the fryer food needs to be fired and is likely a different person than the main Chef. We also ordered the Pad Thai noodles which do not travel well with delivery. They continue to cook in the takeout container and by the time they arrive, they are a solid mass you need to cut with a knife. However, this was our mistake. Prices are above average. Until they replace the fryer cook, 100% do not recommend. read more

2nd time is a charm! We've been trying to come here over Thanksgiving weekend but they were closed for the holiday weekend so we patiently waited until they reopened that Monday. It was worth the wait as everything was delicious. The Thai tea was creamy without it being too sweet. I got the small boat noodles which was the perfect size since the large was more family sized. My siblings enjoyed their basil chicken and beef with the fried egg on top. I think my sister and her family finally found a nice spot to go to when those basil chicken cravings kick in. read more

Have you tried Savannah's newest Thai restaurant? It's tucked between Pancake House and Top Crab, but should not be missed. I asked for a main dish that is gluten-free but something I've never tried. The women suggested Kao Soi Chicken. It is a curry with rice noodles and 2 drumsticks and turns out it is off-menu! It comes with lots of noodles, some spicy pickled greens, and toppings. The curry though is a write-home kind of curry. Easily the most flavorful curry I've ever had! I could drink that as a soup! It is made with a lot of spices and herbs and reminds me of Fall in taste and color. Highly recommend! I also ordered the basil rolls as an appetizer. It comes with 3 rolls and a healthy side of peanut sauce. Light and tasty. Also good for dipping in the curry For a drink, I ordered the Thai Pink Drink. It's like strawberry milk but light. The food is horrible. I have had microwave Pad Thai that is far better then what is served here. I order to go for the first time and when I got home and opened the bag, I legitimately felt like I was being punked. How can any restaurant that is open possibly serve food of so poor quality and remain open? The noodles were like angel hair pasta, stuck together in a solid clump with no discernible vegetables by flavor or sight. If top ramen made pad Thai it would be better then this by far. My wife's rice was a clump literally served in a half melted sandwich baggie. It's just sad and gross! For what they charge it should at least look good to eat.
