**** TRIPLE GOAT ALERT **** Wow! I haven't had this great of a soft breakfast sandwich since The Bachelor Farmer closed in the north loop. The bachelor farmer had these amazing buttery soft biscuit egg/meat sandwiches and the egg here taste & thickness & fluffy is very similar and that's what made me think of the bachelor farmer. I was able to order online and it was ready within 10 minutes. This deli is located inside of the fifth Avenue market to the left when you walk into the store. I am definitely going to try the other sandwiches again and I think I would get double egg next time. I also haven't had alfalfa sprouts since Jimmy John's stop offering that ingredient and the alfalfa sprouts really make this sandwich I will have to get those sprouts every single time and I always get sprouts if it's an option on any menu for a sandwich. The aioli spread is soo good. The sausage is ground sausage. Next time i would get this again but I'd double the egg & also add bacon. have always loved Egg on a Roll. I am a frequent customer and constantly recommend this spot to others, but my most recent visit completely changed my perspective. This time, I was visiting in a different capacity--picking up an order for DoorDash, which I do part-time. I walked in and waited for about four minutes without being greeted. Finally, a young gentleman approached me, and I simply said, "Thank you for acknowledging me." Instead of a standard customer service response, he shot back, "You could have said something also." I was caught off guard, as I have never been anywhere where the person walking in is expected to initiate the greeting to get help from the staff. He then began to insult me. Admittedly, this led to some back-and-forth between us, so I will own my part in the argument. However, he went out of his way to make sure I knew I "was not a customer" and continuously demeaned me. When he finally handed over the order, he sneered, "Go and deliver your food, delivery man." His coworkers just sat there in silence the entire time. This employee was extremely rude, lacked basic decency, and intentionally tried to make me feel low simply for being a gig worker. It should not matter what capacity someone is visiting the store in; basic respect should be a given. Fire breakfast Sammy's! It's fun that it is just in the middle of a little C store, no seating so it's just grab and go but the sandwiches are super good and the staff was super nice. I love the sandwich bags that they put them in as well. I got the cry'n eggy and personally I like it spicier so I may add chili crunch or something to it next time too. The egg was perfect, the buns are soft and crispy, I like how they do all the meat - it's all chopped and layered on instead of 2 big slices of bacon or ham, etc. They also have gluten free buns which was a huge selling point! It's super clean with some basic snacks, groceries, and a pull-tab counter in the corner. Picked up a to-go order and the staff was super nice. Nice and quick with a couple folks behind me in line. No pictures of the sandwich, but it's enormous. While huge, it's surprisingly light and not something you'll immediately regret. I tell you what, I've had some VERY delicious sandwiches here. It is in the back of 5th Avenue Market... yes, inside the market. Just go on inside that market and head to the back, you can't miss it. You order on a tablet, then linger in the market's grocery aisles, awkwardly examining the microwavable entrees and condiment jars until they let you know your order is ready. Or you can order online and just come grab it when it's ready! I should probably do it that way next time. These are egg sandwiches, that's what their whole thing is. Super good ingredients every time, with a number of sauces that give everything a nice tang. I like their chorizo, it's super flavorful. I wouldn't mind if they had some different cheese choices. They are open from 7:30 to 3:30 on Monday through Saturday.
