Service was spectacular as always... Food was meh, perhaps the regular chef took a night off ? I had the Grilled herb chicken and to tell the truth, I could have done a better job..... Presentation was wonderful but the flavor was lacking.. this restaurant has always been one of our GO-TO places, especially when we have visitors... not sure if that will happen again until we can get back and do a tasting.. read more

When I wrote my review it was for the yelp app for making reservations! I got an email asking me to review the yelp app after I made a reservation at Edgewater Restaurant. I did not like the app as it didn't ask any specifics and it didn't work - I explained our entire evening and the "never again" was for the yelp app for reservations not the restaurant! Edgewater always gets a thumbs up and 5 stars! Thanks, John, for your comment back which brought it to my attention! read more

Hi. Not sure how to respond to you directly. Glad I made your day. Your duck dishes are fantastic. I'll be back soon. Have a great rest of the summer. Best Wishes, James read more

Food was terrible, third time in a row in 2 months. Paid for bottomless mimosas, like pulling teeth to get the waiter to bring another one. Will not return. read more

One of my favs. Food is always delicious. Can't go wrong with the pizza or meatballs. Burrata is a must when it's on the menu. Service can be hit or miss, but the view makes up for that. Get there early because they fill up quickly. read more

The service is very good. The atmosphere is nice. The cocktails very good. I would recommend ordering everything seafood as that is their clear strong suit. I would not recommend the pastas or classic Italian entrees as they are so so. Nothing is awful it is just ok. read more

They always have great food and service. It is my favorite restaurant! I have no complaints the few times I visited. It seems like other restaurants have trouble maintaining positive experiences but Edgewater is doing a great job! read more

Good stuff. Service ok. Large menu to select from. Good wine choices. I would recommend going to this place if you're in the Hamptons.

Went out looking for a nice place to have dinner fourth of July weekend. Called around to numerous different places they all had hour and a half plus wait times. Edgewater gave us a 20 minute wait times so we headed over expecting to have a drink at the bar as we waited. When we walked in we were able to immediately get a table. We sat down at a beautiful booth with a fish tank. The wait staff was extremely attentive and helpful, the food was cooked perfectly and beyond delicious. Well worth the money. read more

Really cute restaurant. Went in this past Monday night. Our waitress was awesome and attentive. The gnocchi pesto appetizer was to die for. Filet mignon just ok! They need to offer mashed potatoes with their steaks- you only get a few boring potato wedges and the waitress said everyone asks for mash! Only a 20 min wait in peak summertime weather for an outdoor table. We were able to sit and wait on the couch near the pond with a drink while we waited for our table which was really nice and relaxing. Knocked off 1 star Bc the bar was clearly understaffed and the one bartender there was extremely short and cold with me. read more

Excellent food, service is super friendly & helpful. The view is gorgeous & the decor is current & updated. Reservations would be smart as it gets crowded at night especially weekends. Kid friendly. Love the live music! read more

Great place. Fresh food and excellent service. The salmon was crazy good! There was a comfortable feel to the restaurant that hits you as soon as you sit. Incredible staff. So friendly and attentive. read more

Place was unreal. Not sure what else to say. Everything was perfect. Meal couldn't have been better service was superb. Great spot for a family birthday thank you keep it up. Never expected a meal like that down the street from the boardy barn!! read more

My girlfriend and i had dinner here. I was disappointed, the food was just not that good. My lamb was not cooked wel, the gravy was too much and also the price i had to pay did not live up to thequality of the food. Service was ok, but not what you would expect. So overall a bit disappointing. read more

nice place, very good food and good service. very low key.

The place gets packed on the weekends and the staff gets a little frazzled.. Although our waitress was really great the others seemed to be a mess, also we had a reservation and when we were seated it had the seats but not enough table setting. The food was decent stand out dishes were the mussels and the risotto.. The pasta was over cooked and the sauce was very acidic, the chicken was also dry. The view was meh you need to be outside in front of the place to get a view of the water which is across the street. Prob wouldnt go back. read more

Great food and amazing service! Would definitely go there again! The Thai Lobster was the best thing there, so good., although all of us enjoyed our meals. Donna was our waitress and basically she was the best waitress we have EVER had, hands down! read more

Great food and magnificent view of the sunset. Who could ask for more? Never had a bad meal there!

I had the zuppe di pesce special tonight and was able to sub out shrimp with lobster and it was - by far- the most amazing meal I've ever had. Great ambiance, great food, great drinks made the wait well worth it. Highly recommend it but make a reservation! read more

My family and I have been going here for years and we are never, ever disappointed. The toughest part about going to Edgewater is having to choose from all of the wonderful options. This restaurant has something for everyone - whether you love seafood, pasta, salad, pizza, meat - and they do them all well. The view is exquisite whether you sit inside or outside. This place is very high on my list and will be on yours, too! read more

Parents live local and every time we visit we go to Edgewater. Have not had a bad meal on the menu, from their seafood plates, shrimp, mussels, tuna, salmon to the Gnocchi, and land lovers food food like chicken and filet. Service is very attentive. Food was fantastic, the service was great! and we were a large party! Always my first start in the hamptons!

I made a reservation using Yelp and it was very easy. WE were seated right away and the waitstaff was very pleasant. there were seven of us and we all liked what we had some better then others but I have to say I had the Pan Seared Scallops with Quinoa and it was EXCELLENT. I want to go again to have that same. I tried some of the pistachio gnochii (I spelled it wrong) and it was fantastic as well. I definitely would go again and recommend it. read more

Great spot, 7 of us sat on the deck overlooking Shinnecock Bay and we all had fantastic meals. The staff were great, and the evening perfect! Will go back again as often as possible! read more

We passed this restaurant many times through the years we've been summering in the Hamptons. When recently looking for a new place to dine, we were moved to try this one based on the reviews. Though they don't take reservations for small parties, our wait was reasonable. While waiting for a table, we had drinks and appetizers at the bar. The baked clams were very tasty as were the fried calamari. A table became available in the bar area so we can't comment on ambiance or views from main dining area or outdoor terrace. Our salads were good, then we were served our pasta entrees, penne with polpette(chicken meatballs), and orichiette with broccoli rabe and polpette. The dishes were prepared with too much oil (wonder if it was olive oil or a less expensive blend) which made them taste heavy and the portion size was unappetizingly large. I know some diners would find this a bonus so take this in stride. We took half our entrees home. So, I'd rate Edgewater just OK but decent for Hamptons area restaurants in general. I'd be willing to try again but order a fish or meat entree instead. read more

Excellent service, it was quick and the waiters were very polite and friendly Delicious food, and the ambiance was lovely, looking right out on the bay. There was very enjoyable music. Perfect dinner. read more

Great food and fantastic staff... Always on point!!!

Always a great experience at edgewater! Food is delicious and having a view of the bay while you eat is spectacular.

My favorite restaurant by far!!! Best food and great service...always have a great night when we go to Edgewater!

The food is always consistently good here. Service is quick, ambience is comfortable and really nice. I've been here many times but last night I went with my family and had the short rib special. Amazing! Everyone else in my party had a great meal too. Reservations only for parties of 5 or more, but with fast service you can get seated pretty quickly. read more

We often go to Edgewater on Tues and We'd nites for the 2 for 1 dinner special. Because of that special, it is always jammed! Food is wonderful but noise level is abominable when seating is not available outside. Still, I would not stay away any night of the week from Edgewater-- worth every penny! But don't spread the word or we'll never get in!i read more

We eat here more than any other restaurant in the area. We love their fresh pasta dishes and have tried just about every one of them. We've never been disappointed. Also, the portions are very generous, so you really feel like you get your money's worth. They also make a great pizza, and the house salad is much better than you typically get at a restaurant. read more

We ate here the other night. Nice atmosphere and view. The place gets loud, but only due to many happy people enjoying themselves. We ordered the crab cakes, salmon and eggplant. All dishes were good. Service was good too. All in all a nice experience. read more

After a few attempts to dine here after moving to Hampton Bays, when it was over an hour wait, we finally picked a good night/ right time. Wasn't busy, got seated immediately ( my wife and I) and it still took a good 5 -10 minutes to see a waiter and give our drink order. 10 minutes later we got our drinks and gave our dinner order. Well, that was the last time we saw our waiter. No stopping to see if everything was ok( my ribeye was overlooked and my wife's filet was undercooked, I think they got it backwards) or to even check our drinks. I put my glass on the edge of the table and watched the waiter pass by several times without noticing or stopping. Thank goodness they put water on the table at the beginning, but they lost money on not serving us more bar drinks. Had it not been for the busboy, we wouldn't have had our food boxed or gotten our check. Who go s to a restaurant and sees his waiter TWICE the whole night?...eventually I had to get up and give the hostess our money. Never again...Cowfish and Rumbas blow this place away with even better views. read more

Both food and service were excelent, place was very busy but our waitress meagan didn't miss a bet and we were table of 14 highly recomended

Beautiful location (get a table on the deck). For me the Lobster Orecchiette, Crab Cakes and Sliced Pear and Gorgonzola Pizza are fantastic. John, the owner is in a constant state of improving the restaurant and the new bar is awesome. Lovely place, cheers all read more
