I would not recommend this company. I payed $180 to have the locks on my home re-keyed by Mike. That night I noticed that the knob was not locking. I called him and he said, "It was nothing I did, I can fix it but I'll have to charge you more..." Maybe it wasn't his fault, although he had removed the entire lock from the door. Still, if I call a professional locksmith to my house, I expect him to tell me that my knob is not locking before he leaves the job. Did he not test it? read more

Mike, the owner has been my families locksmith for years, for both our commercial and residential rental properties. He's such a trustworthy businessman, that we feel 100% secure using him for all of our properties. I recently had some bad stuff go on in my neighborhood, and he set me up with an appointment the very next day to put in a deadbolt on my extra door, window lock, as well as installing a peephole. Could of been a wonderful review about great feats of lock-smithing. Here are the facts: 3:30PM Wednesday, car lockout at Chase Bank, Bon Air Center just off 101 on Sir Francis Drake in Greenbrae, CA. I walked over to Molly Stones to use the phone book and pay phone- Called this guy who said that he was reasonable based on the difficulty of getting into my locked car. I thought, OKAY- this guy sounds fair. I have been locked out of my car at lest 10 times, and pay $30-45max! Yea, so he pulls up, and opens my car door in record time under 2 minutes. Good job, Mike! He tallies the bill to a WHOPPING $80! OMG to get into my easy 1995 Volvo 960. Honestly, a sick ripoff, over-billing cheat! He doesn't deserve your patronage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ECONOLOCK. Mike was amazing and totally saved the day! My key had broken off in the lock and everyone I had called around to in-town I either had to leave a message with a secretary or couldn't come out to help me out until days later. Mike answered the phone himself and said he would be down from Novato to help me out just as soon as he finished up with a customer he was with. He was down to San Rafael inside of 45 minutes, and had the broken key out of the lock and a new key made up for me in about 10 minutes. Unbelievable service and very reasonably priced. I wish everyone in the service industry was like Mike. I was looking to program an additional key fob (from an ebay seller) for a car I recently purchased, and tried about four places before I called Mike. Dealer wanted over $180 and tried to con me into buying the fob from them, two locksmiths said they couldn't do the job, and a guy in SF said fine, he could handle it - I just had to drive to him in SF. On the other hand Mike responded promptly, said he could do the job and quoted the price without evasion, which was competitive. We set up a meeting place without a hassle and when I arrived he was there with his clean, well-organized van. Job done perfectly in 20 minutes and I was off. So, despite his being a Red Sox fan, I strongly suggest you call Mike first when you need locksmith services, especially with car keys which no one else seems to know much about. read more

Great service! Last year the front door lock was replaced NOT by EconoLock and it was a nightmare. That lock had started to stick and when it couldn't be opened today I called EconoLock spoke to a human being, arranged a time and they showed up right on time. What had happened with the lock was explained and when I asked what could have caused it the repair person didn't need to go any further than, "It might have been installed badly. Either the installer wasn't paying attention or didn't know how to do it". The deed was done in about 10 minutes and was worth the price. read more
