Tony was very professional and helpful over the phone even though he was not able to provide (the specific keyless entry of key fob's for a 2013 Buick LaCrosse I have) programming and key cutting. He was great at trying to list possible alternatives I could call or use. Thank you for being helpful and professional. read more

Always thought changing locks was difficult. Not at all, we are looking for the 'that was easy button" Mike at EconoLock was awesome! Fast response time, billed AAA Roadside Insurance, and was done in no time. Thank you EconoLock. read more

SO TRUSTWORTHY....We have used Mike for years. As an ex-cop, I can't say enough about his integrity. Fast, economical, and local. Supporting a family owned local business is just the right thing to do. The big box companies hire shady unknowns whom I would never trust with my security issues. Mike is a peach, a professional, and the best locksmith I have encountered. read more

I would not recommend this company. I payed $180 to have the locks on my home re-keyed by Mike. That night I noticed that the knob was not locking. I called him and he said, "It was nothing I did, I can fix it but I'll have to charge you more..." Maybe it wasn't his fault, although he had removed the entire lock from the door. Still, if I call a professional locksmith to my house, I expect him to tell me that my knob is not locking before he leaves the job. Did he not test it? read more

Mike, the owner has been my families locksmith for years, for both our commercial and residential rental properties. He's such a trustworthy businessman, that we feel 100% secure using him for all of our properties. I recently had some bad stuff go on in my neighborhood, and he set me up with an appointment the very next day to put in a deadbolt on my extra door, window lock, as well as installing a peephole. Great guy! Would definitely recommend Econolock to anyone unsure of who to use! read more

Rule #1 when driving a large van with your company name and phone number, (415) 258-XXXX, on painted on it - Don't drive like an moron... Could of been a wonderful review about great feats of lock-smithing. However, two neighbors made it a point to tell me about the errant disregard of safety or laws, no less, the driver of the van committed en route to my house. Really a head scratcher. read more

Quick, responsive, efficient, courteous, trustworthy Can't ask for more of someone changing your locks! I've had him help me out 3X now. :) Thank you MIKE! read more

HONESTLY, the other reviewers must be phonies. Mike the owner of EconoLock is nothing but a good ole cheat! Here are the facts: 3:30PM Wednesday, car lockout at Chase Bank, Bon Air Center just off 101 on Sir Francis Drake in Greenbrae, CA. I walked over to Molly Stones to use the phone book and pay phone- Called this guy who said that he was reasonable based on the difficulty of getting into my locked car. I thought, OKAY- this guy sounds fair. I have been locked out of my car at lest 10 times, and pay $30-45max! Yea, so he pulls up, and opens my car door in record time under 2 minutes. Good job, Mike! He tallies the bill to a WHOPPING $80! OMG to get into my easy 1995 Volvo 960. Honestly, a sick ripoff, over-billing cheat! He doesn't deserve your patronage. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ECONOLOCK. CALL SOMEONE ELSE! read more

Only shop that would help me. Made a key for my 83 BMW and the cost was reasonable. Recommend and 5 stars.

I'm surprised to see the positive reviews here. I called twice the other evening, and left a distressed phone call about locking myself out of my house and NEVER even got a call back, WTF? read more

I only use Mike for all of my re-key and lock needs. When I sell a house, I have the locks changed for all of my clients. have tried others when he was not available and it was a nightmare!! Never again!! He is fast, friendly, reasonable and very knowledgeable. The BEST. read more

This guy is the BEST!! I got stranded in the middle of nowhere when I lost my car keys hiking on the Fourth of July. He showed up in 20 minutes after I called him. Extremely professional and fast. He helped me figure out how to get AAA to cover $100 of the cost even when I thought they wouldn't. I was amazed the guy was working on the holiday but I was incredibly grateful. read more

Mike was amazing and totally saved the day! My key had broken off in the lock and everyone I had called around to in-town I either had to leave a message with a secretary or couldn't come out to help me out until days later. Mike answered the phone himself and said he would be down from Novato to help me out just as soon as he finished up with a customer he was with. He was down to San Rafael inside of 45 minutes, and had the broken key out of the lock and a new key made up for me in about 10 minutes. Unbelievable service and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!!! read more

I wish everyone in the service industry was like Mike. I was looking to program an additional key fob (from an ebay seller) for a car I recently purchased, and tried about four places before I called Mike. Dealer wanted over $180 and tried to con me into buying the fob from them, two locksmiths said they couldn't do the job, and a guy in SF said fine, he could handle it - I just had to drive to him in SF. On the other hand Mike responded promptly, said he could do the job and quoted the price without evasion, which was competitive. We set up a meeting place without a hassle and when I arrived he was there with his clean, well-organized van. Job done perfectly in 20 minutes and I was off. So, despite his being a Red Sox fan, I strongly suggest you call Mike first when you need locksmith services, especially with car keys which no one else seems to know much about. read more

Mike is great, extremely prompt (usually within hours of request), knowledgeable and has very reasonable rates. We use them for all of our business needs and I use them for personal locksmith as well. read more

These guys are the best. I tried two other locksmiths first, and there is just no comparison. Mike is knowledgeable, fast, and high-tech. Other locksmiths tried for over an hour to make a key and still couldn't do it. Econolock had it done in 20 minutes! And to top it all off, Econolock had lower prices than everyone else....PLUS I got a huge AAA discount! read more

Wow ! I left a message and they call me back quickly. 20 mn later, Mike was at the door and he worked well and fast. Thank you ! I highly recommend this company read more

Great service! Last year the front door lock was replaced NOT by EconoLock and it was a nightmare. That lock had started to stick and when it couldn't be opened today I called EconoLock spoke to a human being, arranged a time and they showed up right on time. What had happened with the lock was explained and when I asked what could have caused it the repair person didn't need to go any further than, "It might have been installed badly. Either the installer wasn't paying attention or didn't know how to do it". The deed was done in about 10 minutes and was worth the price. read more

A friend of mine was stranded with a broken Jeep key. I called from 400 miles away to get her some help. Mike had her up and running in less than ninety minutes. The Jeep dealer would have been three times the price and would have taken a day and a half. Fast service. Honest. Friendly. Kind. Turned a crappy experience into an absolute pleasure. Thank you very much. read more

We found ourselves locked out (with 2 small kids) after a walk early saturday morning. I randomly chose Econolock from a google search. Mike first tried to help me over the phone and was patient even with another call on hold. He was out quicker than estimated and fixed our problem in no time. Very thankful. If we ever need a locksmith again, we now know just who to call! read more

Thanks to Mike with Econolock, locking myself out of the house on an early Saturday morning was not super stressful. A neighbor let me borrow their phone & I randomly selected Econolock & am so glad I did. Mike rolled up within the promised 30 minutes and within 5 minutes, I was in my home. I highly recommend Econolock if you ever find yourself in a similar situation. read more

We are very pleased with EconoLock's services. Dependable and always courteous.

Great service. My wife had her car broken into along with her house keys and ID with address on a Saturday. We wanted to change our home locks. I didn't request emergency service or any rush but Mike was at our house in about 30 minutes and changed out 7 locks in even less time. Hassle free, quick and he was friendly to our dogs. 10/10 would get robbed again. read more

Have used Econolock a dozen times in the twelve years they have been in Novato. I've had them unlock briefcases, automobiles with their keys in the ignition, make keys, and have purchased a variety of padlocks and locking hardware from them. Have always dealt with the owner Mike, who provides honest estimates of time of arrival, and estimate of the work that needs to be done. Quality of service is always excellent and the price is more than reasonable. read more
