What should have been a simple install turned into a much more complicated situation due to issues with my car. Tal put in many hours over several days, returning multiple times without charging me anything beyond the original quote. When it became clear that the problem required a mechanic, he referred me to someone trustworthy with fair prices and followed up afterward to make sure everything was resolved. He even sent one of his team members to handle the final touches--again, without charging extra. Tal went above and beyond at every step. He was clear, communicative, and highly reasonable with his prices. I am incredibly grateful for his professionalism and trustworthiness (especially after some less positive experiences with other autosmiths). Not only were they fast in fixing my home lock out, but when I called 6 months later, their agent Dennis was very prompt in taking my request for a copy of my receipt. I just discovered that my AAA roadside policy reimburses $150 for home and auto lockouts. I didn't know about home lockout coverage until I read the small print in my renewal notice. read more

I called recently on a holiday to get help to enter my locked home. A Tech came out and tried to unlock the front door. He jammed the lock several times and couldn't get entry. He used different sets of keys and hitting the keys from two different directions. When he couldn't unlock the door he asked if there was another door. I showed him the door in the garage which was locked. He took a screwdriver and pried the locked door open. He showed me that the barrel in the lock was broken and replaced the part. I was charged a huge fee for the service. He told me it was because of the holiday. The next day I went to unlock my front door (which he had jimmied the day before with no luck) and discovered that the lock was damaged. Apparently from all the cranking of different keys he had used to try to get in. I called the company and after 24 hrs was told that he didn't damage it and it would cost more money for him to come out and try to fix what he had broken. I spoke with the owner who said he would come out and take a look that afternoon. He never called back nor did he show up! I felt like Tech had damaged the front lock just so he could come back to fix it with another service charge!!! This company is bad news! They take no responsibility for their actions!!!! read more

I'm giving them one star because it literally took him 5 minutes to change the lock and I was charged $415 including tip. I needed a front door entrance lock re-keyed and called Tal-Niv. I let them know it was not an emergency and we worked out a good time later in the day for them to visit. Their communication was excellent and Thomas the locksmith arrived on time. He made short work of rekeying the lock and even replaced a broken brass slip ring on our ancient lock. Saturday, New Year's eve - I need my front door lock re-keyed. Called, and within a few short minutes was speaking directly to Thomas, who said he could come by within 15 minutes, and would not charge after-hours emergency rates since he was in the area. What's more, the price he quoted was less than anyone else's I'd spoken to. Unfortunately, my lock is old and very unusual, and he didn't have the blank to make a new key - my only option was to replace the cylinder at a substantially higher cost. When I hesitated, he went back to his van and tried to find a "scrap" key that might fit the lock, but with no luck. I'll have to find someone else who can do the job and he didn't charge me anything. Through it all, I was impressed, and appreciated his good cheer, helpful attitude, and clear competence, as well as his honesty. I would recommend him without reservation, and will call him first for any future needs. I really wanted to find a way for him to do the job, that's how much I liked the way he approached everything. So I'm giving him 5 stars even though he couldn't do the job. That's how impressed I was. I'm also in a service occupation, and I know good service when I see it. read more

My car, all of a sudden, decided not to start on Friday afternoon. I called Tal Niv Locksmith and left word with the call center. Tal himself called me back within 10 minutes. My description may have been a little misleading and he advised me to jumpstart my car, thinking it was the battery. It wasn't the battery. I called again on Saturday morning and Thomas called me back within 5 min. Unfortunately, the person qualified to do the work that needed to be done (repairing the faulty steering lock, placing an emulator and reprogramming the key) wasn't available until Sunday evening. It wasn't urgent so I called again on Monday morning (8am). Ben arrived by ~10:30am and did the work within 40min! Saved me a TON of money in towing and dealer (inflated) charges!
