But i knew it was working till we took it apart, so i was going down the road of how you replace the lock and everything. All new hardware. Even contacted who we purchased our doors from. 4-6 weeks to get them. Then i thought maybe a locksmith could fix it- instead of this trying to order a new lock etc. i called what seemed to be a local locksmith but they were not? I think there is some kind of auto generated thing out there -that just says your city- but they are not local. I had booked them. And then after losing a day of waiting for them-to not come or call! Forget about it! I had noticed everyone on Yelp mentioning the real Sausalito locksmith! So that was my next move after that bad experience. Thomas came over and inspected the situation and had a resolution to something within the lock that was weak he didn't like- but it's true, a small flimsy metal part. He went to see if he had something like it but stronger in his truck. Yes- problem solved! But then where the door wasn't lining up exactly- he trouble shot that as well. I like a person who can problem solve on the spot. So grateful for this nice friendly guy who knows his stuff- and got the job done step by step. (The issues were not obvious) Can't recommend him enough- if you are in Southern Marin- you should ask for Thomas. Time is money and he put my mind at ease once he came to fix my door I have had good and bad locksmiths- none are ever in the middle. These guys are the good guys for your money and time. He said he would call 30 minutes before arrival. 45 minutes after he was scheduled there was still no call. We called him multiple times from the number he's aware of and at no time did he answer. I called him one time from a different number and he answered immediately saying I'll call you right back without knowing who I was. I then canceled the appointment and told him so. I also left a location after being there for two hours and 45 minutes without hearing from him. Then he wrote back with some tremendously grand excuse about a domestic violence situation that apparently he was fixing the locks in the middle of. If that's true, I'm sorry for whoever was a part of that and don't want that energy in my home. If that's not true, which is where I'm leaning, that just confirms why this man should be avoided at all cost. If you need locksmithing done, call a person who actually values you, your time, and their commitments to you and your families safety. This man seems unstable and most likely unsafe given the excuse he provided.

I then tried to confirm who he works with and he told me he doesn't know the name of the employer because he doesn't speak English well. Did not allow him to break the lock down and replace. Overall had a poor experience and quite uncomfortable, but he did get there quickly within about it 20 min as he promised.
