Even contacted who we purchased our doors from. 4-6 weeks to get them. Then i thought maybe a locksmith could fix it- instead of this trying to order a new lock etc. i called what seemed to be a local locksmith but they were not? I think there is some kind of auto generated thing out there -that just says your city- but they are not local. I had booked them. And then after losing a day of waiting for them-to not come or call! Forget about it! I had noticed everyone on Yelp mentioning the real Sausalito locksmith! So that was my next move after that bad experience. Thomas came over and inspected the situation and had a resolution to something within the lock that was weak he didn't like- but it's true, a small flimsy metal part. He went to see if he had something like it but stronger in his truck. Yes- problem solved! But then where the door wasn't lining up exactly- he trouble shot that as well. I like a person who can problem solve on the spot. So grateful for this nice friendly guy who knows his stuff- and got the job done step by step. (The issues were not obvious) Can't recommend him enough- if you are in Southern Marin- you should ask for Thomas. Time is money and he put my mind at ease once he came to fix my door I have had good and bad locksmiths- none are ever in the middle. These guys are the good guys for your money and time. In addition, he broke the driver's side door locking function. Our existing key that used to fully work now only locks three out of the four car doors. The only way to lock the driver's side door is to turn the switch on the car door to lock it from the inside before leaving the car. I will have to pay far more money now to fix the broken driver's side door locking function in addition to duplicating the car key, which was my initial request.

I had originally wanted him to disable the buttons on the mortise lock because we thought my dad was activating it, locking the exterior latch, and preventing my parents' caregiver from entering each morning. Gal saved us a lot of money by explaining that all that was needed to be done was to turn the key one extra turn. Gal also adjusted the door because it was hard to close at times and smoothed out the caregiver's keys to make it easier to unlock the door. Gal did great work, but what really stood out to me is what a great quality human being Gal is. Not only was he understanding of the situation with me living so far away, but he showed the caregiver how to open the door if it's locked from inside, took a video of the process so I could share it with the caregiver in case she forgets, had us on speaker phone because the caregiver doesn't speak English so I could help translate.
