Super professional & competent, even when I didn't have the original set of keys! I had called a bunch of different locksmiths who wouldn't give me an exact price & then seemed shady when I told them I had already found someone, so I appreciated working with a company who was straightforward from the start and went above & beyond with their help. Thank you again! read more

Robert from Econolock did a fantastic job replacing two of my locks. I called Econolock and he quickly set up an appointment for the job the next day. Robert is kind, professional and a clear communicator. He took the time to walk me through the fee structure, and the steps for operating the new locks. Kudos for Robert's clarity and patience in answering all of my questions. I highly recommend Econolock for any lock-related services! read more

Another excellent experience with this company. We had to special order and replace a Baldwin lockset for one our French doors. Navigating through Baldwin's complex parts catalog, Rob, the repairman, made sure the correct part was ordered. This is very important part of the process because some wholesalers do not accept returns even if the part hasn't been installed. The installation was accomplished with emphasis on achieving a smooth opening and closing. This task required Rob to adjust our existing door parts. He didn't need to give the job the extra attention but he did. read more

Robert fixed my door lock and the quality of work was excellent. He was friendly, professional and competent. The price was very reasonable. I would definitely use them again if I need a locksmith in the future! read more

Another reviewer described this as the best locksmith in Marin County. Based on my experience working with Rob, I have to agree. I had Rob come out to extract a broken key after another, less helpful locksmith was unable to do so. Rob made quick work of the task and assisted me with additional work on other doors while he was here. He was communicative, professional, easy to work with, and did excellent work. His pricing was extremely reasonable. I would absolutely recommend EconoLock to others and will surely call them again if I need locksmith. read more

I had an excellent experience with Robert from EconoLock today. I had purchased a new Schlage handleset for my front door, but my handyman couldn't get the latch to engage. Robert immediately identified the problem which involved chiseling a small piece from the bore hole and adjusting the door strike. He was very professional, knowledgeable and came the same day I requested service. I would highly recommend this company for all your locksmith needs. I'll definitely be using them again. read more

Outstanding Service! Rob was a lifesaver. Squeezed us into his busy schedule on the Friday before a 3-day weekend. He was prompt, professional, and extremely helpful when I asked questions. Very reasonable rate - will definitely call EconoLock next time. read more

Robert helped every step of the way. Great service and good prices. Easy to make an appointment.

Yesterday, 8/28/25, was the second time since 2021 I have used Econolock to rekey my rental property. Fast, efficient, courteous service in each case, but this most recent time, Robert distinguished himself. After the work was complete, my incoming tenant noted some problems completely unrelated to anything I had asked Robert to look into while he was at the property. Robert worked with me in a patient, collaborative way and was extremely flexible in dealing with the situation. Skipping to the end of the story today (8/29/2024), all requests were met and the tenant (and I) are extremely satisfied with the results. Robert is not just a competent locksmith, he is also a nice person. I recommend both Robert and Econolock to anyone without hesitation. read more

The best locksmith company in Marin- nice people - flexible and very accommodating - you can't go wrong with EconoLock!!

Great service! Good communication, timely, and gracious! Rob called before arriving and didn't keep me waiting. When he inspected the lock he was able to solve the problem quickly. Our Baldwin lock is old but he was able to oil and repair it like new! read more

robert and this company are the best by far . . we called almost all of the locksmiths that came up on the web search for san rafael area and all the calls were met with answering services that gave us a range of attitudes delays questioning etc. etc. and some didn't even call us back at all . . robert at econo lock in novato was the only one who consistently answers his phone immediately and helpfully or calls you back super fast when you really need the help!! please save yourself lots of time trouble and delay and simply call robert. read more

We called Robert at Econolock to change the locks in the house. He was able to come out two days after we called, and he actually answered the phone when I had a question before the appointment. While changing the locks, he answered all my questions and evaluated the condition of each lock. We are totally satisfied with the work Robert did, and believe we paid a fair price. Definitely will use again and would recommend to others. read more

Excellent service. The Technician kept me posted about a slight delay in his arrival time, but the whole process was done very quickly and efficiently. From my initial phone call until the job was complete was only about an hour. read more

When it comes to a locksmith, you want someone you can trust and that's why I would veer completely away from these people. If anybody else is having to take them to small claims court hit me up I wonder if what I'm going through can help you build your case do not have these these crooks these robbers these thieves, these con artists in your home car or business, they do not complete the job and they are scoping out your business leaving your locks undone for them to come back that night and Rob you beware be warned and not scumbag thieves. Have a nice day. Enjoy your review! read more

After a few decades living in a house, a few doors and locks had become a little fussy. EconoLock came out and efficiently got everything working better than before! read more

On time, efficient, suggested great options I hadn't thought about. Mike is solid ! I had him swap out a rusted deadbolt. Totally professional. read more

Mike came out to make a new key for my 2001 Ford Explorer. I had lost the previous key and didn't have any spares. Mike was friendly and professional. The car gave him problems because he had to bypass and alarm system in order to program the new key. Eventually, he came up with a last-ditch effort and an idea to make the car think he was programming a remote. The new key started the car! Afterwards, he simply said : "I don't like to give up easily". I'll vouch for that! 5 stars for Econolock all the way ! read more

Quick, honest and an expert on product knowledge as it relates to the various lock manufacturers. There is only one person I will use in the future, Mike. Period. -Art Morrison- read more

Called two or three times to make contact and an appointment. Appointment date came then no call and no show. Call them a day later to see what happened they said they called to reschedule but no one answered. Never called back as promised to reschedule. Obviously too busy for a pesky new customer. Stay away Editing review due to obnoxious reply from owner. Yes Mike it was you I spoke to. I am reviewing econo lock of Novato/ north bay. sorry I said "they" in my original post. I am not an idiot and my review was intended for the company I was trying to give business to. My sequoia has a bad ignition key and I was looking for you to meet my wife at her office to look at it over a month ago. I am still waiting to hear back. read more

Mike from EconoLock was on time, professional, and very reasonably priced. When I first reached out to EconoLock, Mike returned my call almost immediately. I must confess, I called another local locksmith first. But four days later, I still haven't heard back. Lesson learned. I'll call Mike at EconoLock again in a heartbeat. I suggest you do the same. read more

The service is absolutely professional and wonderful! We have to unlock the lock of our alarm system and get a new key of it. The whole process only took around ten minutes to unlock and rekey the key. The most important part is their price is so much more reasonable than other companies. I don't want to mention other company's name. But other company will cost more for only unlocking the lock than the package you get from EconoLock. We really appreciate their service! read more

EconoLock - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Novato, California

Mike was super responsive, communicative, prompt, thoughtful & personable. Oh, and a great locksmith. No reason to even try anyone else!

I have used Econolock almost as long as it's been in business. Mike's response time to my calls is always rapid and his service is always courteous and professional. He's quickly resolved numerous different lock-out scenarios at my home - the car door, garage door, front door, and re-keyed locks when the original key got into the wrong hands. I've got no reason to call any other locksmith. Thanks for years of excellent service, Mike! read more

EconoLock - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Novato, California

I have worked with Mike on several occasions and he always exceeds expectations. Most recently, he came out the same day I called him to fix my front door lock. The next day, I discovered a new issue with the front door handle (unrelated to the work that had been done by Mike; it's just an old door) and called him. He came out right away, fixed it and didn't charge me a thing. He's efficient, incredibly knowledgable, explains everything he's doing, offers various options based on different price points, and is also just a really kind, decent human being. I feel grateful my realtor recommended Mike a year ago when I bought this house and will continue to reach out to him with all of my lock and key issues in the future! read more

Well my keys vanished forever and I called every god damned locksmith in Marin. One finally answered and the woman said she would take my number and 'he' would call me back later. I wanted to know how much it was going to cost. She said "I can't answer any questions." She was actually just a big bitch. I waited around for awhile and got no call. Then I spotted Econolock under a weird category in the phone book and I gave them a call. The guy was super nice, quick, patient and helpful. He told me how much it would cost and then was totally cool with waiting for my friend with AAA to show up (thanks, Ben) so I could get the discount. He got to my house (which is terribly hard to find in the dark) about half an hour after I called him. What a lifesaver. When I went back inside, I had a voicemail from the other guy. He said he "wouldn't be able to do a lock-out tonight". Lame city, Greg. read more

Called on a Saturday afternoon (!) from the yellow pages and Mike (the owner) answered. He said he'd be over in one hour, but arrived in just 50 minutes. He quoted me for fixing and rekeying our ancient lock over the phone. He fixed (replaced springs and things inside) and rekeyed the lock (he said it was 30 years old) and we are good for another 30 years. All for $65. Mike put the service in the service economy. Take a lesson all ye "service providers!" Thankyou! read more

Very professional and efficient service. Thought price was fair for someone coming to our house. Would definitely recommend.

The Econolock dude was a vital part in getting my life back to normal after my keys, wallet, and phone were stolen out my gym locker. Ironically, the beefy lock I'd paid top dollar for to secure my valuables at the storage place was now keeping me from getting to my passport and thus reclaiming my identity. I called a few places on Monday morning hoping someone could get the lock cut off that afternoon. Most said they couldn't help me until the next day, and of the places that were available, they said they wouldn't be able to get through the lock unless a power outlet was nearby, which unfortunately was not the case. The Econolock dude said he was very familiar with the type of lock and said he'd get it off one way or another. We set a time for 3 and at 3:05 he called to say he'd be there in a bit. After arriving and taking a look, he prepared me for a wait, but after 20 minutes he'd managed to cut through the sucker on a battery-powered drill. Bill was $89. read more

After a miserable night being stranded in Point Reyes National seashore, I lost my keys. Luckily we found a ride back to Olema. My car had overheated. The radiator cap was gone and I was miles away from civilization. Mike to the rescue. He drove all the way from Novato, brought a radiator cap, anti-freeze, picked me up from the hotel, gave me a ride to the car, made the key in under 10 minutes and followed me out of the park to make sure I made it out alright. That is SERVICE. He was professional, kind and a God send. read more

Mike showed up same day and really saved it! He dug a broken key out of my car's ignition and cut me a new one, saving me from having to replace my ignition system. I would rate a 10* if I could. Locked myself out of my house accidentally while going to my mailbox. Never happened before. No shoes, no keys, no cell phone. My neighbor lent me her phone to call a locksmith. I called the first one that came up. Mike answered and was kind, understanding, professional and said he was on his way!! When does that ever happen in today's world of people not caring and unprofessional service? Mike showed up within about 20 mins (which kept me from sweltering in the extreme heat today at 104 degrees!). Within minutes, he had my door unlocked. And to make this experience even better, he was still kind, professional and knew what he was doing. $89 seemed pretty reasonable for getting me back into my air conditioned house for the day within a very short period of me making a very silly mistake. Thank you Mike! Today you were my hero! I am so grateful to you, your professionalism and excellent customer service!! I hope I never need to call you again, but if I do, you can be sure I will call EconoLock! read more

Called and talked to a live human being who came in one hour. Quick, efficient, and done in less than 20 minutes. AAAAAAAAAA+++++++++

Tony was very professional and helpful over the phone even though he was not able to provide (the specific keyless entry of key fob's for a 2013 Buick LaCrosse I have) programming and key cutting. He was great at trying to list possible alternatives I could call or use. Thank you for being helpful and professional. read more
