Ken was great. He helped me get the battery off my ebike so that it could be replaced. He also went to the trouble of calling everywhere to get a replacement key (which are apparently hard to find as the bicycle manufacturer couldn't even help me). Wow! My faith in humanity has returned. I went to open the front door to my home and the doorknob came off in my hand. (It's a 40-year-old home.) I called Ken, on a Saturday, and he was here in a few hours, replaced only what needed to be replaced -- the inside door knob. He was quick, courteous, AND didn't charge me a penny. We used Ken to re-key our locks when we first moved to town. And then we needed to move again about 6 months later and used him a second time. He is awesome. His price can't be beat, but he is such a nice guy and goes above and beyond with his work. We hired him to re-key but he was replacing hardware and doing all types of extra things. We had an issue with one of our door locks and I wanted to support a local business, so I gave Ken a call. As others have mentioned, Ken's absolutely amazing - super knowledgeable, timely, and very reasonably priced. The issue with our lock turned out to be much more complex than he had originally thought. It's an old manufacturer that is no longer in business and he wasn't able to find a replacement part. At this point, he could've called it quits and cut his losses, but instead, he takes it upon himself to machine a part from scratch... yes, that's right - he took a piece of scrap metal and machined a tailpiece to match the broken part. Absolutely blown away by his dedication to solving the issue at hand, and all the while he took the time to explain what he was doing (and answered a few noob lock questions for an aspiring DIYer). Assuming alex f's review is accurate, then I could change my rating but that is the exact guy who came to my house saying he was Ken. I called and was provided a reasonable quote on the phone. When someone arrived to conduct the work, they said they worked for Ken and then quoted me $100.00 more for each door. Then a 2nd guys arrives who said he was Ken and quoted me $200.00 more for each door. As I kindly escorted them both off my property they were surveying the contents of my house and demanded a service fee in cash. If this is truly Ken - then his operation is a scam. read more

Do not use this service - Ken does not stand by his work and ignored multiple requests to address deficiencies in it. The lock he installed in our front door failed and jammed within 6 months, he was completely non-responsive, and left us having to engage another more reliable locksmith to address it at our significant expense. read more
