My experience was similar to that of Adam B.'s two star review of March 14, 2025. Ed was great about getting out to the site and setting up the FOB replacement I needed. But over the last four weeks since, the FOB's ability to open the door, or to even be recognized by the car to start the engine has steadily degraded, and at this rate, will probably be unusable within a month. Four vm messages left in four weeks, but no response. I think any business that is as highly rated here on Yelp as this one is can, and should, do better. read more

After the fob for my car (Hyundai) started getting tempermental, the guys at Santa Rosa Transmission recommended Mobilock, mentioning their excellent work and fair pricing. The service was great the first time around. I bought a key fob to replace one that had died on my 2009 Volkswagen. A little over a year later it needed to be reprogrammed (I confirmed the battery wasn't the issue), and multiple attempts (over a period of a couple of weeks) about setting up an appointment to have it looked at have been ignored. I recognize I'm one of the only low-star reviews on here, and I recognize people get busy and sometimes forget to return a call, but it seems like I was sold a product that lasted a year and will now need to go somewhere else to get it replaced. read more

Mobilock did everything I wanted them to do, and at such fast pace I didn't even catch the locksmith's name. I knew cutting the key for my VW would be pricey, but he saved me from towing to the dealership and was actually cheaper in charging as well; also came same day and on time. Moral of the story is, don't listen when dealerships say they are the only ones who can cut and program keys, and their rates are final. I had an issue with our 2001 Toyota Tacoma where the key would not insert all the way into the ignition. Gave Eric a call and as I was describing the problem he said "you don't happen to have a Toyota do you?" Eric warned me upfront when the key doesn't insert all the way there's a possibility he'd have to drill out the ignition assembly, thus destroying a pretty expensive part. He told me he'd do everything he could to try an avoid that scenario. Eric showed up on time and went to work. In less than an hour he had solved the problem, without having to destroy the original part. Then, he rebuilt the part, eliminating Toyota's faulty design! I knew the bar was set very high, given Eric's high marks on Yelp, but to my delight, he actually exceeded expectations. My deadbolt was an older model and the current replacement models in the stores do not fit in the existing hole in my steel-plated door. Eric answered my initial questions without trying to push his services, and we then determined that he could help me. In fact, he had a modified replacement model, which fit the old hole, in his truck and he gave me some brief installation advice.
