I can not say enough kind things about this company. This is the third time I've used their services. Once because I managed to leave my keys in someone's car, who drove away (I retrieved the keys another day. I had an extra set inside) Someone was at my place within maybe, 15 minutes. At ten o'clock at night! Guy was pleasant and upbeat, though I was ticked at myself for doing that. Had me inside within maybe, 5 minutes? The price for the service was reasonable. Second time was when I moved, and had the house re-keyed. Same deal. Prompt, pleasant, and most of all honest. There was one lock that would have to be replaced if I wanted to use the lock. Since it was no big deal to lock this particular door regularly, I gave that one a pass. Person put on no pressure to pad the bill. Again, a fair price for the service. Then the other day, the latch wouldn't retract on my front door and the door would not open with my key. Thankfully I figured that out the night before, and left the house a different way. Trevor was at my place in maybe ten minutes. He tried to fix the problem, but it was a no go. I asked if he could set the lock a certain way so that I didn't need to use the latch. He did. He must have been at it for at least 20 or so minutes. He gave me advice on what to do to replace the latch, but I opted not to. Zero pressure. And no charge. These days customer service is so sorely lacking in many businesses, but not with Abir Locksmith. Honesty, integrity, and getting the job done. I hope to not need the service again, but if I do, there is no doubt I will call Abir Locksmith. read more

Maybe it was the way I turned the steering wheel to get into the parking place in front of Pacific (Fiesta) Market, but when I turned off my ignition, my key would not come out of the lock. I wiggled that key for 10 minutes, until I blistered my finger, then searched Google for "Sebastopol Locksmith." The first place I called was closed (this was 5:15 PM). Next, I called Abir Locksmith, a man answered, asked for the location and description of my car, said he would be there in a few minutes. The owner, Israel, showed up in 5-6 minutes, gave me his business card to identify himself. He was courteous and fast. The locksmith, Trevor, was very rude and said when he arrived that I had to pay an additional fee to have the second lock on the same door rekeyed. I agreed to that, and asked about the keys. He said that 2 keys came with the lock, and I asked if 4 keys would come with the two locks, and he refused to understand that I was due the two keys since I was paying the full price for the additional lock to be rekeyed. I mentioned it before the work was done, and then when the work was finished, I asked to speak with him again. I gave him every opportunity to give me my full value for the money I was paying, and he still said no. He said he would make me extra keys for $4 each...after already spending over $100 with him in less than an hour's time. I thought this was ridiculous I have been in business a LONG time, and have found that the customer is always right, especially when it's such a small thing the he could have done for me, to save me so much hassle to have to go have keys made elsewhere. Oh well, glad there's an internet to warn people about such unfriendly practices. read more

The Friday before last, at about 6pm, I locked myself out of my house. I live way out in West Sonoma County in Guerneville. It's a very small town, and we don't have any local locksmiths. I couldn't break in, and I was left sitting on my porch on a cold, wet, and dark night, wondering what in the heck I was going to do. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find any locksmiths willing to come from Santa Rosa that wouldn't charge me a small fortune or take hours to respond. The first one in Healdsburg that I called actually said they wouldn't come out to Guerneville. Then I called Abir. Absolutely amazing service. I was stranded in Sebastopol when my car key wouldn't turn the ignition or even come out of it. It was super stuck. I'd been having a sticky key issue for a while and had kept putting off the repair. The mechanic quoted me at roughly $200-300 for a new ignition and my car would've been in the shop for at least a day. But anyway there I was in the Donuts and Water parking lot, kicking myself for not getting it fixed already, trying to figure out how I was going to deal with this and on the edge of freaking out major. I went online and tried all the quick fixes, I even walked to the hardware store to get some different lubes people recommended (in retrospect I'm laughing but at the time, as in like four hours ago, it seemed like a good idea.) Finally it became apparent that I was wholly unqualified and needed some reinforcements. I was considering towing to a mechanic and having them replace the ignition switch. But then I thought, what about a locksmith? Abir's was the only one I could find that advertised they could handle my problem and were mobile. Called up Israel (owner) and he said he could meet me after the job he was on. He came out in about 20 minutes and kew immediately what to do. Quoted me what I felt to be a very reasonable $160. He pulled out the ignition switch in like a minute and reset the pins (I think that's what it's called.) Took him maybe a half hour but he said my key was a little more stuck than usual, lol! He was super nice and even showed me a little about how locks work, though I must admit that it was way over my head. And again that's like way less money than what my mechanic quoted and way less time and about a million times more convenient.
