    These guys were fantastic. We recently had a large & very difficult retrofit of our double HVAC system and these guys handled it with speed and grace. Our system was very outdated (30-35 years old), and although still functioning, was most certainly limping and on it's last legs... The owner of the Company Joe came out to the house and took a look at everything, even ascending the sketchy ladder into our attic to assess the situation. Sure enough: we could have been in real trouble in this scorcher of a summer if we didn't take action quickly. Within a few days Joe sent out his top technicians Camilo & Lanier and those guys got down to business. They removed the antiquated system and had a brand-new, modern replacement up and running within a few hours. This was no small feat as there were 2 large Exchanger units that had to be removed from the second floor attic. Camilo & Lanier are clearly very experienced experts and had the double system with new thermostats fully functional in no time. The old units were in pretty horrible shape and they removed all the rusted and corroded parts from our property the same day. All of this happened (thankfully) right before the first major heat wave hit this summer. Last week I had the guys go up to North Austin to help my brother with his system. My brother sent me a text stating: "These guys are heroes!" & I have to concur. They will be my go-to team going forward & I highly recommend them to anyone that needs HVAC help of any kind.

    Not Great Regard For Basic Detail I called them to replace an AC wall unit. The inspection went well and they communicated and were ok to work with throughout. My main issues are the following: 1. The replacement wall unit was the wrong dimensions, and stuck out from the wall. They did not know/communicate this until the end. To their credit, they discounted me $200 and were apologetic. However, while this covered materials needed to frame in the AC, it did not nearly cover my time to fix, and I am left with a replacement AC that is framed sticking out from my wall, rather than flush. See pics attached. 2. The new unit is extremely loud compared to the old unit, and is extremely distracting. In conclusion, I cannot give them an average rating when AC dimensions should be a baseline check. Additionally, the increased volume of the new unit is dissatisfactory.

    I had Eco air out June 22 to do a tune up/inspection and also to have them install a hard start kit to prevent anything horrible from happening during the summer. I haven't had it looked at in about 3 years. They did what they said they would and I paid them probably too much but I'm not going to complain when most HVAC companies are slammed. Tonight, July 15, a little over 3 weeks later, my AC stopped blowing cold air and the unit outside wouldn't turn on. I had to call an emergency company to come out and fix it. Blown capacitor. I'm pretty sure that one of the things on their to-do list was to check the capacitor. It could have been fine. I don't think they checked anything though because the company who came out tonight told me that the condenser coil was filthy. He took care of it all. I will not be using Eco Air again. In fact, I'll be calling them again tomorrow and speaking to someone about what happened. I'm really disappointed. I hate leaving these reviews. Invoice is attached for your reference

The Concerning The final cost was $2,303.60 for what I've since learned should typically cost $700-$1,000 (that is including emergency service fees). While I understand emergency calls command premium pricing, this felt excessive. Additionally, the quoted price increased from $2,000 to $2,303.60 when it was time to pay without clear explanation of the additional charges. My Takeaway Apex delivers on availability and technical competence when you're in a crisis. However, I'd strongly recommend getting multiple quotes if time permits, as their emergency pricing appears significantly above market rate. The convenience of immediate service came at a steep premium that I wasn't prepared for. Would I use them again? Only in a true emergency where no other options exist, and I'd request detailed pricing breakdowns upfront. For future customers: Get clear, written estimates before work begins, and ask about all potential additional fees.

Unfortunately, we have had a lot of difficulties with our Samsung washer and dryer and have had to have both repaired, several times, over the past 4-5 years. A few months ago, Greentek repaired our dryer, and most recently, they came out to assess a persistent annoying problem we've had with our washer. Greentek advised us the cost to repair the washer was higher than what we wanted to pay. (The amount of the repair and the amount we put into repairing it in the past was going to exceed the cost of a new washer.) So, we declined to have Greentek repair the washer and decided to buy a new washer. (Not a Samsung!) Both experiences were positive and we have no complaints with Greentek. They are prompt, professional, offer reasonable prices and do everything as agreed. Call them.

They arrived on a cool day and checked the heating but couldn't do the cooling because of the low outside temperature. I asked them to write up what they could & issue the report. They convinced me to wait a week for the cooling check & would do it for the same price. I was amazed and impressed that an HVAC company would make two trips for $150 but agreed. They returned on a warmer day and said the system needed a new capacitor and 2 pounds of coolant. The coolant was a big surprise to me. Closing date for the house sale was looming and I either had to pay the high price or begin an emergency call with another company. I opted to pay for the coolant. The tech went to retrieve a canister from the van. I went inside the house. But because of my unease I went to the outside unit about 3 minutes later. He startled when he saw me. The canister was not connected. He nervously claimed to have completed the refrigerant addition, and offered a $50 discount. I don't believe any coolant was added, based on the length of time required by other HVAC techs I've seen do that operation over past decades. Trapped, I played along and paid over $500.

They loaded an incorrect unit on the truck that the technician/installer recognized after the demo of the existing unit and instead of ignoring and installing anyway (sometimes challenging for a homeowner to know the difference) he called the company and went back to pick up the right one and was still able to complete the installation within a normal timeframe. Erick was very methodical & quick, yet meticulous (& didn't rush or cut corners after losing an hour to pick up correct unit) and payed attention to the details and cleaned everything up afterwards. Louis did a great job on the outside unit, new "pad", electrical connections, etc. ps... they handle registering your product, rebates and arranging the city inspector, who by the way, said it was a great installation job and loves to see installations like that.

Sorry for the long review...but please read on to hear my horror story with this sorry excuse of a company. I don't normally write reviews (good or bad), but my poor experience with this company cannot go unheard. I feel obligated to warn others of their frankly criminal business practices. I originally called them out to take a look at my old HVAC that was no longer producing cold air. They identified the Freon was low and filled it back up. Worked well for a bit, but then got low again...indicating their was a leak in the system. The unit was so old, we decided to replace the unit instead of fixing it. The new unit was installed, but not without issue. I chose what they described as their go-to brand - American Standard. Apparently their technicians do not know how to install their go-to brand, because it took several days and several different technicians to get the install completed. A year later, the unit began tripping the breaker any time it went to the 2nd stage. Took them 3 days to come out (when approaching triple digit temperatures), charged $150 service fee and $450 in parts and labor to add a capacitor to the setup (a $50 part and about 10 minutes of labor). Did not fix the problem. Tech came out again, and said it seemed to be an issue with the breaker and that I needed to call an electrician to diagnose and solve the problem. Ended up paying $300 for an electrician to come out. When he took a look at the install, he was flabbergasted. He could not believe what he was seeing! He identified the unit was installed on an aluminum electrical line, that was severely undersized for the unit installed. He said no respectable company would EVER do this kind of shotty work. He said replacing the electrical line would likely cost a couple thousand dollars, since it was on the other side of the house. When I called Smart Air to let them know of the situation, the dispatcher was very dismissive. She said she would have their lead install tech follow up with me, but of course I never heard anything back... That is when they went dark despite several additional attempts on my part, and broke communication with me entirely. I ended up having to pay an electrician to run the new line on my own dollar - several thousand dollars - and now I'm finally back up and running.
