Pretty darn average. I ordered pork teriyaki and an eggroll. The teriyaki was too sweet (yes, I know teriyaki is supposed to be sweet, but it tasted like meat candy). The eggroll was nice and crispy, but the filling was not seasoned very well. Also, I asked for my order "for here" twice and they gave it to me in a take-out box. Pay attention folks. We were disappointed with this place. Not really sure why it gets such great reviews. I got the chicken teriyaki and found it to be pretty run of the mill: giant pile of white rice, iceberg lettuce salad and fatty pieces of chicken covered in a generic, sugary, thick teriyaki sauce that I'm pretty sure has MSG in it considering how gross my stomach felt after eating it. Just moved in to the area and bought chicken teriyaki and bento box from them. They were tasty, made to order in no time, and were reasonably priced. The asian lady who served me was really nice too. While I waited for the food, she recommended to have their complimentary soup. Will be back again!! read more

Echigo is one of the best teriyaki joints that I have ever been to. I know that they are a dime a dozen around here, but this place is really great! They always have free egg flower soup and lemon water, and they cook everything up fresh and hot. The portions are good sized and the prices are quite low. It's great for a quick lunch or if you need something to go. They have amazing fried rice and their egg rolls are to die for! I always order the 'standard' chicken teriyaki and I'm never disappointed. read more

There are probably more terriyaki places in the greater Seattle area, than there are numbers....but still this is my favorite one sine it's not that far from where i live, and they offer complimentary soup while you wait for their order. the taste is standard, but the service is great. they close at 9, and will take an order by telephone pretty close to closing time...they are very cool....and they have a punch card that they mark, towards free terriyaki.....i know it's probably the same at many other places...but this is my favorite. i eat this at least once a week....and i have on ongoing bet with a friend, where i have to prove that the chicken terriyaki is healthier than a salad(i don't know how i am going to pull that off) read more

The teriyaki here is pretty decent and they have yummy lunch combo specials. Good gyoza too. Wait can be a bit long if you don't call ahead for takeout but that's because it's popular around lunch time. :) read more

Echigo has great food, yet charges the same amount as the crappy teriyaki places! I love the fact that they have brown rice as an option, their katsu and bulgogi are better than your usual teriyaki joint fare, and their sushi is surprisingly tasty. This is one of the best Teriyaki places I've had the pleasure to frequent! The portions and the prices are great as well the customer service is great! Tammy (sp) is very nice and when I mentioned that the last time I had ordered the Spicy Chicken is was too hot and she made it right by making a new entree with just the Teriyaki chicken(as I was spiced out) and a side of hot sauce! It was a good filling meal - I was expecting just teriyaki bowl, but ended up with a full platter meal that was delicious. I used to get Teriyaki at the place that was at this location all the time. I tried Echigo last year for the first time and the food was great but they overcharged me a few bucks. I figured it was an honest mistake and the lady running the shop was very sweet so I didn't make a deal out of it. A few weeks back I went with my girlfriend and got food there again and they overcharged me $10.30 on two meals. When I asked the proprietress she had the gall to pretend she didn't speak English. This place is GREAT! I got the chicken teriyaki plate, which came with a good amount of steamed white rice and a salad...and let's not forget the complimentary egg drop soup that is available on the counter. The chicken was moist and tender and the teriyaki sauce is very tasty. The salad is just iceberg lettuce, but the dressing is wonderful. There are a lot of teriyaki places in the area, but this one is one of the best. Pricing is very competitive, and the portions are generous. Nice staff too! read more

Been coming here for 10 years. In that time this place has changed hands many many times however the quality of the food has always stayed the same! I have never been disappointed eating here, the quality of the chicken is very good. The salad is good, the portions are very good. Service is quick, the free soup they have for you while you wait is pretty good. I usually only do take out so I come in a little early to grab some of the soup before my order is ready to go. If you are ever in the area don't bother with any other Teriyaki places as I've tried a number of them and they aren't nearly as good. read more
