I have been coming here for a decade+ and have always recommended this place hard. Tonight's meal was extremely disappointing. Katsu used to be super lightly breaded and pretty authentic, but tonight it was dry, way too overly breaded, and fried until hard and crunchy. Breading was thicker than chicken. Other teriyaki dishes were also dry and overdone but not properly charred, and the sauce nowhere near as rich and complementary. Yakisoba color looked raw and was mostly vegetables rather than noodles. I come on here to check for updates, and the other recent comment about new owners changing things around made it all made sense. I'm so, so saddened and disappointed, as this was some of the best teriyaki in the area, and the old couple who ran it were always super nice. If things don't turn around, it would only be right for me to stop recommending this place to the countless people I've told about it over the years, in person, to friends, on Reddit and social, etc. read more

New owners at this location. Old owners didn't say a word about there departure just one Day they all left which I thought was rude because I was a consistent returning frequent customer. New owners told me they are using the same recipe BUT the first thing I noticed was the water down RUNNY teriyaki sauce. The teriyaki sauce used to be thick... The chicken was. Dry dry almost like it was made a day or two in advance and reheated on the grill... moving forward.... I hope they follow the same recipe though as the last owners because it was a very good. Ordered to go twice from here now. I really like the shrimp yakisoba. Flavorful and not dry (I hate dry noodles) and lots of shrimp and veg. My hubby likes the katsu a lot and the portions are huge. I don't like the gyoza. It tasted a little stale and the pork was chewy, which severely grossed me out. Otherwise, all entrees tried have been quite good. read more

Delivery review In short I can't even remember the last time I actually went in here--I thought I'd never tried it, and the place is now rocking hard. Definitely above 3 stars. Might be my new go-to. In long I've been reassessing all the yaki places around me. I stuck with one forever until the owner moved on, now I'm trying everybody. And, evidently, re-trying some. I can't remember anything at all about my 2012 visit. They set up their menu on the delivery apps pretty well. You can adjust pretty much anything without having to type in notes. Nice! Spicy chicken Comes with thigh meat, which is always juicier and more flavorful in my opinion. As a kid I preferred the breast but it's just prettier--not more interesting. Echigo's spicy isn't crazy spicy, even with a couple extra cups of their spicy sauce drizzled over it, but it has really nice grilled flavor and good flavor overall. The heat packs a little kick. You can sub in steamed veg, and you get a TON of 'em. Still kinda crunchy, a little flavor from searing on the flattop (I imagine) to hear them up. Very filling with minimal sugar carbs or starchy carbs. This is a great meal for a great price. The driver kinda took forever, but the place got the order ready super quickly. Fantastic family run place. I like my chicken more done. I like rice. They repeated it to me over the phone to make sure they had it right and not only did I get extra rice, i got the salad as a side dish and all at no extra cost. It's tucked in the back corner but pretend like you're and then go straight and it's right there. The chicken teriyaki was not the best I've ever had but they were nice and worth a lot to me. They are under new management. The person taking my order was kind of slow, but I think it was her first day on the job. Besides that, the food was amazing, tasted great and the proportion was good for the price.. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone interested in traditional Japanese teriyaki dishes. This is for Echigo Teriyaki Everett. I ordered the Bento Box 2 Tempura Special (Chicken Teriyaki with 1 Shrimp & 5 vegetable tempura). The only saving grace for this dish was the teriyaki. The chucked was cooked well and tasty. The tempura was weird. Not sure how they cooked it but it doesn't look, feel and taste like a Japanese tempura? The batter looks brownish, the vegetables were were raw hard and tastes like they were fried in a used oil thus the color. I may come back just for the teriyaki's alone though? read more

**Review for Bubble Tea Only ** The bubble tea is just ok here. Flavor is okay, but it's very grainy. Every time I've ordered it's been gritty. I feel the tea mix crunch in my teeth like Sand. They likely don't care enough to mix the Tea ingredients well or take time to blend properly. However, the biggest issue with the Tea, the tapioca balls are STALE. That's so gross! They were all clumped together (so you couldn't even drink it) and when I bit into them, they tasted...well, stale! Tapioca needs to be made fresh. Tapioca balls are ONLY good for a SHORT period of time. Read any package of tapioca for boba tea and see for yourself. This means they're keeping expired ingredients far past throw out date. It should never taste like that. Makes one wonder how sanitary the rest of the restaurant is. If they're so careless to make this simple drink correctly, I wouldn't assume the food is any better or safe to eat. read more

Customer service here is lacking. I stared at my food in the window when picking up an order. The lady behind the counter was taking a personal call. I stood there looking at her visibly upset and she didn't even acknowledge. It was really unprofessional and a truly bad experience. Yum!! I love this place. Feels like your going to grandmas house the way the nice lady is always checking on you when you eat in. Love their free soup, the teriyaki shrimp and salmon are grilled to perfection and you get like 12 shrimp a good piece of salmon. All the other dishes are winners too. I have been going to Echigo since it first opened and it has been consistently good. To night the wife and I went in for a order to go; 2 adult chicken and beef and one kids chicken teriyaki. All 3 meals were cold and not one portion of extra teriyaki sauce, even though we asked for a extra one (thinking each meal would have one to pour over the rice). There is a banner saying under new management, sorry if this is the way they are serving food WE WON'T BE BACK. Read a good review on this place so decided to try it out. Got beef and pork teriyaki, house fried rice, potstickers, and egg rolls. Everything was delicious. The beef and pork teriyaki was tender and flavorful and not too salty, which many are. Portions were huge, plenty for leftovers. I'm usually just a plain old chicken breast teriyaki guy, but the yakisoba is great, as is the fried tofu teriyaki. I really like this place. Really good food and great owners! The teriyaki is very good, especially the beef teriyaki. They also have a lot of Chinese and other Asian dishes, like Kung Pao Chicken & Mongolian Beef (really good). Most of the dishes come with rice and a small salad. I'm diabetic, so I have to skip the rice. I usually ask for all salad instead of rice and they always accommodate me without complaint. The owner is very nice and remembers his regular customers very well. The owner typically is taking the orders up front and his family (I believe) handles the food prep in the back. One time they had made a small mistake on my order, which I didn't realize until I got home. I was tired and it was getting late, so I didn't bother to take it back. A week had probably passed before I went back the next time and without me saying anything the owner apologized to me for messing up my last order. He apparently realized after I had left the last time I was there, that they had given me the wrong order. He apologized again and comped my meal that night. I was really impressed. It is service like that that keeps my faith and belief that small, privately owned neighborhood restaurants are always the best. read more

I can't speak about this place too much, but I'm a fan of what I have experienced. I stopped in here one day to grab take-out really quickly. I was a little dubious about it, since it's the ubiquitous "teriyaki" place, but I was hungry and gave it a shot. [Seriously - why are there so many "teriyaki" places in the great Seattle area? It's super weird, coming in as an outsider.] Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was not just a teriyaki place. They have several different Asian styles in there, letting you try different dishes depending on your mood that meal. I saw they had Kung Pao chicken, and felt a wave of nostalgia, since I used to order this dish all the time, and I missed it. Sold. The food was pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but very solid. (I did remember why I stopped ordering this so frequently.) Though I wasn't terribly impressed with what I ordered, the quality of it was sufficient that it encouraged me to try some other dishes that would be tastier to my mouth. And it was pretty quick. I was out in just a few minutes, which was exactly what I was looking for in a lunch like that. Not a bad option for take-out. So yeah - I'll be back. Good stuff. read more
