We've found the top spot for our Chinese Delivery. I'm not quite sure how we haven't ordered from Ming Garden prior. We were impressed. Especially given it was delivery. We had one of each: orange chicken, beef broccoli, chicken fried rice, side of rice and the pot stickers. Plenty of food for four. Two adults, two younger kids, 12 and 13. Order more if you want extra. And the packaging they used for the food too. Sustainable and it closes and seals so you can transfer it right to the fridge. Only gripe is small, the plastic bags they used will absolutely tear easily. It barely survived the ride. read more

Visited for lunch and it was not busy. The ambiance is great with enough seating. We loved the decor. We ordered the Potstickers, Seaweed Salad, Kung Pao Chicken, Drunken Noodles and the Pork Dumplings. All dishes were good and made to order. Our favorites were the Seaweed Salad, Dumplings and the Drunken Noodles. The salad was fresh and flavorful. Dumplings had a little bit of soup filling which was nice. The Drunken Noodles were great, but could have used a bit of spice to it. Overall a great Chinese place in the Silver Firs area. Will definitely visit again. read more

About two months ago, this would have been a 5 star review, but i cannot recommend this restaurant anymore in good concious, I've been coming here regularly for years, always getting the same few items, and recently they went through a renovation, and my first time coming back the entire restaurant had changed, they had much more staff, and it was a lot more crowded, and usually this would be a good thing, if it hadn't interfered with their foods quality. I bought a tofu fried rice, like I always do, and the entire recipe had changed, the rices texture was disgusting, the tofu was flavorless and it was no longer the good quality food they used to serve, I also bought crab Rangoon's ( that ended up not having any crab) Ming garden used to be a mom and pop small operated store, and now it looks like the original owners aren't even there anymore, and the quality has plummeted, so I can no longer say it's my favorite Chinese food place in Everett. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because 1, the staff were adequate, not super nice or welcoming but they did their job and 2, for old times sake, because their food once brought me joy. read more

In long Sometimes you're in the mood for something that seems a little truer to its root and shows more traditional touches...and sometimes the Americanized stuff you've had since you were a kid sounds good, too. We didn't have lots of traditional places around when I was a kid--basically none--even though many of the restaurateurs and their staff running Chinese places had grown up there. Ming Garden has kinda been on my radar for a minute and the other night they sent over some snow peas, cashew chicken, and hot & sour soup. On a barely-related note, when my mom was still around, one of her favorite foods to head out for with my sister and me was Chinese, and we almost always started with hot & sour soup. You know how non-Chinese folks get Chinese-character tattoos and tell everyone it's for "Strength" or "Harmony" or whatever--even though they don't read Chinese? And the joke is that somebody could've just tattooed something off a restaurant menu on them, and they'd never know the difference? Yeah, I've always thought I could flip that idiot-white-guy stereotype and get a menu tattoo on purpose, to commemorate all those family outings. Anyway, the hot & sour here is good, and it's probably obvious from the above that I've tried it a bunch of places. Deeply flavorful and comforting, and combines well with a big spoonful of garlic chili paste when you warm it up. The snow peas were great, and I was *really* craving those all of a sudden when they scrolled by on the menu. I place an order that was 138.11, having no clue ownership changed and what I was purchasing wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered chow main and the noodles used to be hard and, on the side, it now comes cooked and in with a lot less vegetables in it. I also ordered almond chicken and had no gravy for it. I called to ask about missing gravy and she offered to replace it however I don't live anywhere in Everett and I wasn't driving 30 minutes there to get it. She offered a 16 dollar refund and a free almond chicken if I wanted to try them again. I am very disappointed in the food I received and that there was no waring that there are new owners and the food is significantly different than it used to be. read more

Went to go eat on a Monday evening. There were like 3 tables. I get that this is a mom and pop store and I fully support it. What I don't understand is that it took one hour for our food. We ordered about 6 dishes and it took one whole hour. There is only one lady serving and one person in the kitchen. I'm not sure if I want to wait a full hour to eat at a restaurant. We went in hungry and were starving by the time food came out. I came on a Friday evening and took an hour for a take out (I had called an hour ahead too), so 2 hours on a Fri evening and one hour on Monday evening. If the food was phenomenal, I would understand but it wasn't. I genuinely think they are understaffed. Hopefully they will at least get another server or kitchen helper. Not sure if I will go back again. I think I'll just go to Bellevue or Shoreline for Chinese food next time. My daughter (5) wanted to try egg drop soup, so I brought her to Ming Garden based on other reviews. It did not disappoint! We ordered a combo plate with broccoli chicken and almond chicken. It also came with a cup of soup, fried rice and an egg roll. We also ordered a second cup of soup, an extra order of egg rolls and Jasmine tea. Oh my gosh, this is what i've been searching for my entire time in Seattle!! The portions of food are INCREDIBLE! I have not been able to find the asian american chinese food that you always crave on a sunday night! Albeit, this is a little far from DT seattle and happen to get this on our way back from a hike. The bbq pork and shrimp they give isn't anything worth writing home about, so I would avoid the dinner for 2 options and just get a large plate of what you want, with any soups on the side. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was confusing with lots of numbers, specials, and combinations. The pepper salted fish is probably one of my favorites as is the Mongolian beef. The lo mein special (link neon? Sorry, autocorrect) is exactly what I expected and the honey walnut shrimp was about two levels above panda's. It's always a little disconcerting when you go to a restaurant at lunchtime and there are no customers, and that's what we encountered when we went to Ming Garden. But looks can be deceiving. Located in a small strip mall, Ming Garden is a large, simple dining space with high quality food. Dishes ordered: Curry chicken lunch special Chicken and broccoli lunch special Assorted vegetables entrée The lunch specials come with rice, a cup or soup, and an egg roll -- all for about $11, which is a great value. The portions are also quite generous. I've had a lot of so-so Chinese food in my life, but the food at Ming Garden reminded me that affordable Chinese food can also be very good Chinese food. The chicken in the chicken dishes was melt-in-your-mouth tender and the sauces were flavorful without masking the freshness of the ingredients. The assorted vegetables (broccoli, carrot, zucchini, water chestnuts, mushrooms, bok choy) were cooked perfectly, maintaining some of their fresh crunch. The light sauce was the perfect way to add flavor while also highlighting the vegetables themselves. Even the hot and sour soup and egg rolls were on point. I will note that we saw quite a few takeout orders being picked up while we were there, so it's clear people like this place, despite what it's emptiness might suggest (we were also there on a Thursday). My dining companions and I are pretty picky about our Chinese food, so the fact that all three of us really liked Ming Garden and look forward to coming back really says something. read more

Tucked away in a strip mall is this hidden gem. I believed they opened during the pandemic as I was visiting the lash lounge across the way. Always wanted to try them out so we got our opportunity last night. It seems empty upon entering but they were busy with take outs and while we were there, a few more customers came to dine in. We decided to dine in. Clean and tidy, even the owner of the resturant was killing the one annoying fly. I love that because who wants flies? I don't. I also thought the prices were all decent. The portions are large and I like that I know I'll have leftovers. There are a lot of businesses in the parking lot but there were still lots of spots open. One downside I disliked was the fact I had to pay for rice when I had 5 entrees. Four cups of rice for $8. Never had to pay for rice til now. Would I eat here again? Maybe if I'm in the area. After a long day dealing with doggie issues, I decided I needed some easy food. I chose this place for a rather silly reason; because for some reason, it kept coming up as an unfinished review. I thought that perhaps Jake and Elwood were delivering a message from God, telling me to review this lovely garden. BTW, who's Ming, because I have a feeling they are a righteous dude(ette)! So, I ordered a Dinner Special D, which came with some tasty vittles. The best being the amazing dish with shrimp, veggies and mushrooms. It had this perfect burst of heat that followed this beautifully sweet taste explosion. The fried rice was amazing, because, there weren't any peas (peas and Peggy had an age-old conflict to which I concluded they are as evil as sauerkraut). I appreciated the balance of other flavors, so yum! The spring roll was really quite good -- albeit slightly squishy, but it wasn't enough to surrender a star. Also, there was one tasty fried prawn along with a couple of pieces of BBQ Pork (which, by the way were very tasty). There was also a cup of wonton soup, which had a couple of mushrooms and the aforementioned peas. Since there were only a few, it still maintained its star power. You can choose anywhere from a 1 to 10 as far as heat preference, I chose a 7 (this was hot but still enjoyable). Food was fresh a tasty, staff was very kind, and the establishment was clean and taking proper COVID procedures. I will be back.
