My friends and I decided to eat here for a last minute Galentine's dinner as most other places were fully booked that night, but this place didn't require reservations. The sign at the front said to seat yourself, so we picked a regular table based on the other reviews mentioning that the couches weren't the most practical for eating. The restaurant is aesthetic and Instagrammable (flower roof + neon sign), but the food was medicore. We had the Cubano Egg Rolls to start off. Interesting take on egg rolls, but they're on the pricier side; $9.99 for 3 rolls. Presentation was beautiful and one of the better dishes we ordered, but I still prefer a traditional Asian egg roll. Next we had the California, Patty Melt, and Mahi-Mahi sandwiches (called hand-helds on the menu). The croissant on the California was soggy; overall taste was meh. The mahi-mahi had blackened seasoning, but boy was it SALTY. One of my friends really likes salt, but even she thought it had too much. I had to drink water and take bites of other foods in between each bite to finish the sandwich. The Patty Melt was the best out of the 3 sandwiches. As for sides, we had the hand cut fries, sea salt kettle chips, and sweet potato waffle fries. They were all pretty good, but my favorite was the sweet potato waffle fries. The pasta salad was also nice. It was sweet and spicy, which was a good contrast to my overly salty mahi-mahi sandwich. Service was okay. Walked in to a sign that said seat yourself. So our party of 3 sat at a booth. We sat for probably 5 mins and no one came over. My husband got up to get a rag and spray bottle and wipes our table... a server came and cleaned the table right next to us but didn't even speak to us.... We would of left right there but it was already 10pm at night and the other 2 food options next door didn't look good and we were hungry. That same server that ignored us came back with waters with ice, just dropped them off and didn't say a WORD to us. I tried to ask for water with no ice for us and she just walked off. This was an older server probably my age in her 30's. This was probably the worst first impression. But they had a DJ with music we all really liked so we stayed. I came here for happy hour on a Thursday. It was pretty empty but the location is in a nice outdoor mall and the decor both on the patio and inside was super cute! Such cute and style here! I loved the patio ceiling of florals. There were some pretty disappointing moments though. Our waitress was short with us and often dropped things off without saying a word which made it a little uncomfortable. They did have a switch change about 30 minutes into being there and our next waitress was really lovely though. We were very happy with her acknowledging us more and made it more relaxing. The machine that holds a frozen drink I ordered hadn't unfrosted yet (5:30pm) and I was brought out a drink I didn't order as a substitute before being asked. I think it was a really nice gesture to offer me something else but I would've preferred to ask for a particular type of drink rather than being asked if I'm okay with what they brought out. The bartender was so nice about it with coming to our table directly to give the substitute drink. The Buddha salad had cut up sweet potato waffles fries in it instead of cubed sweet potatoes which was a little off putting as that wasn't on the menu description- all it said was sweet potato. When I told my waitress it doesn't look right or taste good she said "it always looks like that" but it's pretty obvious it was made incorrectly. We got the bacon wrapped jalapeños for an appetizer. They were good but some were HOT. There were a lot of seeds still in them and not much cheese. I ordered the Buddha bowl which was 99% kale with 1% being the remaining ingredients including the dressing. The sweet potatoes were more like shredded potato that was really crispy, like a croton not actual diced potato which is what I assumed. Limited quinoa and avocado with a very light dressing. Probably one of the largest pieces of salmon I've been served at a restaurant and it was cooked so well. It's a great salad to share as well. I must admit I had preconceived notions because it looks very picturesque and Instagramy, so I didn't have high hopes for the food, but I'm delighted to say I was wrong! I had to put one star, but if there was a way to have ZERO stars this is exactly what I would do. This used to be mine and my fiancé's spot for every single new years and we will NEVER return because of the manager. ON FATHER'S DAY (of all days to have horrible service and hospitality when your restaurant is DEAD), we tried ordering shots for the whole family and were met with insane ego and over the top attitude. My fiance forgot his ID and offered a photo picture to which the manager declined. Totally fine for him to not accept that as a valid form of ID, what's not okay is him accusing us of trying to sneak shots when we we already agreed to have one less due to the missing ID. Keep in mind this is an adult family where everyone is 30+ years of age. What's not okay is him refusing to leave our table WHILE WE WERE TAKING PICTURES TRYING TO CELEBRATE THE OCCASION until he watched us take the shots even though we gave him no issue when he told us we could only take 5. We confronted him about this and he proceeded to stand and ARGUE WITH US for the next 5 minutes AFTER WE ALREADY TOOK THE SHOTS. The ego and attitude was through the roof even while ordering the shots (he tried to tell us we had 7 people in our party when we only had 6 in an accusing "i'm smarter than you" tone, as if we were trying to scam him when, in fact, he was just WRONG. By the way, his baby mama and less than 1 year old child are sitting ON TOP OF THE BAR and on the floor of the restaurant. If that doesn't say enough, I don't know what will. Not sure if he's misogynistic, racist, egotistical, has a power complex, or is just flat out rude. If you're thinking of going here, seriously save yourself the trip and DO NOT. So when the waitress came back to greet our third friend, who'd arrived, & was informed "I tried the drink, and I don't like it" it was ONLY then we were told of the "company policy" where it doesn't matter if you don't like a drink they won't take it back - you pay no matter what. In 19 years of ordering drinks I have NEVER encountered such a policy - especially since she barely sipped the drink, she didn't drink half & then declare she didn't like it AND the waitress never mentioned this policy as a caution when my friend had already shared so much concern over ordering said drink. The food came quickly & although my order was incorrect, it was fine. The two girls working spent the evening talking and looking at phones with a third girl sitting at the bar. We had to get up & go over to ask for our checks. The did their job (take orders, deliver food) but that was it, nothing more for the evening. The birthday girl was really disappointed noting she'd only ever been to the location in Dallas and LOVED IT. Said the staff was always friendly, would take back drinks, and the ambiance was much better (festive & cozy). The Legacy location has the feel of place that's been open for so long it's almost forgotten & the staff is already over working there. You'd NEVER know this location is fairly new. Went here for brunch on 5/28 for a coworker's birthday. First off, I love old school hip hop and other club music. This place is barely 1000 square feet in size. We had to yell at each other the whole time to carry on our conversations. Not fun. The service was fairly non-existent. They had three servers. One was new, started the day before, and seemed to just be thrown into her new role with zero training or knowledge of their menu. Food was totally underwhelming. ( if you want a really good brunch burger go to the coffee house at Frankfort and Preston). This was a Brioche bun with two patties that were much smaller in circumference than the bun, I wish I would've taken a picture of how tiny they were, it was laughable, Reminded of when you put a wool sweater into the washer and dry it. It had an egg on top, two pieces of bacon which were delicious. Jalapeño jam which was good. And two sides of ranch dressing not sure what that was about, but it was good and homemade. We swapped the roasted potatoes for the smash tater tot things which were cold, sent them back and still came back cool. Potatoes should be piping hot. The service was good the waitress and the helpers were great. Food meh. We won't be back. We are glad we shared something And didn't spend a lot of money. Hi Brian, It's such an unfortunate situation that I have to send you this email, but I wanted to let you know about the situation that occurred at your restaurant yesterday, Saturday July 13th, and I'm sure your staff has already informed you about this, but I wanted to give you a little bit of insight from the customers experience. I had a reservation for 12 at 7PM, and my entire party trickled in at that time, with the latest joining us at about 7:10- and that's even being generous with the timing. We were missing one of our girlfriends due to her chemo treatment making her ill. We had ordered appetizers and drinks around 730/745, and didn't say anything when they came out late- one of the guests in our party received her potstickers after everyone else had already finished their appetizers, but we understand that the kitchen gets backed up and didn't say a thing. We all enjoyed the ambiance, the mocktails and the little food that we had ordered. Note- no one came around to ask us if everything was ok, and if we needed anything- very strange because even if we were to go to Texas Roadhouse, they'd come and ask us these questions out of common courtesy of taking care of their paying guests. Then came time to order dinner, and we all did... and we waited and waited, and the table behind us ordered after us, and got their food and left. The four other couples that came after us all ordered, ate and left... and then it was 9PM, and 11 hungry guests still didn't have their food. Your server came around once and told us that you have a new chef and that's what's causing the delay... which seems highly unlikely since everyone else at the establishment had their dinner and left. So we left. Your servers told us that we would have to pay for the meals that we ordered about an hour ago, which 9 of 11 meals were ready but not served (so was it sitting under the hot lamp for half an hour?). We requested to speak with a manager, but she didn't bring you or another manager to us to speak with, but instead took her time to respond to us (another 15 minutes or so) and gave us our checks for our cocktails and appetizers without any remorse for the delay or for the massive inconvenience that this was. I had reserved your restaurant specifically because it was beautiful, and loved the ambiance. What a complete disappointment. At one point, we even thought that maybe we weren't served as a choice because we were a party of all women, and because we are of mixed ethnicities. What a shame that your servers and chefs decided to take an active decision to not serve our group when the restaurant was practically empty. Needless to say, this was a massive disappointment not only because we were never served at a restaurant where your main focus is to feed your customers, but also because this was a celebration, that you and your staff ultimately made into one of the worst experiences I've ever had in Dallas. I hope you can reiterate this to your staff so that they do better next time, because next time, I highly doubt that the customer who receives this lack of service will be as accommodating as 11 women of all ethnicities- we are all small business owners and we value our time as much as yours, and unfortunately your team has failed in providing services that we do, without thinking twice. Then we ordered meals and guess what? They were COLD! So ridiculous! How do they serve every dish cold?! Service was ok which is why they are getting 1 star. To start off, I will try this place again. The vibe is amazing. The drinks are on point. The food... Hummus was great and portion-wise, very generous. Carrots and the cauliflower that came with it were fresh. But, the cucumbers were not-so-fresh and the bread was cold. Not a deal-breaker since the main focus is the hummus after all. The salmon with the angel hair was tasty. I've never had salmon picatta. I love capers and it went well with the salmon. The salmon is not dredged in flour. It was our fault for not specifying how we wanted the salmon cooked. It was a wee too cooked for me. I like it medium. The pork chops were a major letdown. I haven't ordered pork chops in so long because it's really hard to find one executed well. It was so dry. I couldn't even eat it. I relied on the picture posted by the owner/manager where it's actually a bone-in pork chop. It wasn't served that way. I ended up giving it to my daughter since she would eat anything covered in mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were AMAZING! I give it 3 stars because the dishes served should closely resemble the pictures as marketed. And.... I will come back. I just won't get the pork chops and request warm bread for my hummus. read more
