Really satisfied with the quality of fish and service here. I believe this restaurant has been opened for about 3 years. You can join a waitlist. We tried this spot on Wednesday around 5 and got seated quickly. By 6:30 the entire spot was packed. There's both sushi bar and booth seating indoors. Love their serving size of 4 pieces per roll. For sushi pieces you can order 1 piece instead of 2. The bluefin and uni were my favorite. The Karage was just okay. I definitely recommend all the fishes. There's options of no rice rolls to choose from as well. The server was great at providing recommendation for first timers. All food came out fast, including the cooked rolls.

Really good sushi! Came here during lunch time on a weekend and was seated immediately. I love how they have physical menus with pictures to look at. We write the items we want on the piece of paper that they provide. We ordered various items such as seaweed salad, takoyaki, sashimi, rolls, etc. They gave us real wasabi for our sashimi which was nice. The sashimi was a thick cut and super delicious. Interior is nice, love the decors. Staffs are friendly. Prices here are a bit pricey in my opinion but quality is good.

If you're looking for sushi that hits both quality and affordability, Eats Sushi is a must-try. Everything we ordered was incredibly fresh and packed with flavor--you can really tell they use high-quality fish. What I loved most is how extensive their menu is. We ordered a variety of items and there were still so many more options I wanted to try. From rolls to nigiri and hot dishes, they truly have something for everyone. Some of our favorites included the crispy tuna, ex-girlfriend roll, spider roll, caterpillar roll, baked scallop roll, and nigiri. The chicken karaage and udon were also so good and perfectly cooked. The balance between affordability and quality here is honestly hard to find. Portions are generous, presentation is on point, and everything tasted fresh to order. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to and recommending to friends.

We went as a large group and they were able to easily accommodate us. The sushi was delicious, and it was easy to tell that the fish was higher quality. Absolutely loved our time there!

I've been wanting to try this spot and it did not disappoint. The sushi quality is excellent, the service is great, and the prices are reasonable. One thing I really appreciated was how quickly the food came out. The rolls are also served in smaller portions (4 pieces), so we can try more from the menu without getting too full. The standout for me was the salmon collar, which I always order at sushi restaurants. The pieces were huge and perfectly cooked. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely come back. Highly recommend if you're in the Costa Mesa area. MENU: Tako Yaki Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Tempura Udon Bluefin Sashimi Salmon Blue Crab Salmon Collar Roly Poly Red Eye Cucumber Wrap Albacore Delight

This sushi spot is one of my favorites for rolls and few other Japanese dishes. The wait can be really long, as in, waitlist can be 0 wait one minute and the next minute you check, it has 30 people already on the waitlist! Also, you need to be within 5 mi-radius to get on the waitlist. However, once you made past all that challenges, and are seated, the goodness will come. I like the service here, fast, efficient, and no nonsense. I like how their rolls are shorter/smaller, and cheaper, so you won't get too full if you order too many rolls, though we always ended up ordering too much anyway. I also like their tempura, udon, salmon and yellow tail kama (cheek), and takoyaki. I love all their no-rice rolls, hand rolls, and anything with salmon. They are super popular for the good flavor, good rolls, and extensive menu. Their take-out/to-go bags are pretty trendy too. Highly recs!

Really nice service, they don't take reservations so getting on online waitlist is highly recommended. Very fun ambiance inside albeit the music is very loud so don't plan on having deep conversations. The food was really really good. The rolls and appetizers were just ok but nigiri (every fish we tried!) was definitely the highlight- super fresh, flavorful, not over the top. I'd def go back.

I'm so surprised I've never been here before! My coworker who is also from OC told me this is his go to sushi place whenever he visits home and I can see why. It's such good quality for the price! My parents were a huge fan and will be coming here to eat from now on. While they loved everything, they particularly loved the sashimi plate and the salmon/crab starter. The fishes on the sashimi plate were so thick and buttery.

How have I not heard of this place before!? I usually steer clear of non-AYCE sushi places, but this will most definitely be added to my top restaurants. As with most non-AYCE sushi, it was a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. My absolute favorite dish we ordered was the monkfish liver, which exploded with flavor! I loved it so much that I ordered another. The ex-girlfriend roll is another favorite, and we got two of those as well. The fish was so fresh and the service was great! Literally no notes, just come!

Tried a sushi spot in Costa Mesa and ordered: * Miso Soup * Shishito Pepper * Baked Green Mussel (2pc) * New Style Yellowtail Sashimi * Salmon Sushi * Madai (Japanese Snapper) Sushi * Seared Jumbo Scallop Sushi * Cucumber Wrap * Baja California Roll Rating scale: 1 = would not order again, 5 = would totally order again Miso Soup - 5/5 Loved the flavor. Not too salty, super comforting, exactly what you want to start the meal. Shishito Pepper - 4/5 Flavor was great at first, but the more you ate it, the saltiness built up. First few bites? Amazing. By the end? A little overwhelming. Baked Green Mussel (2pc) - 3/5 What you'd expect. I'll always love a baked mussel, but nothing super standout. New Style Yellowtail Sashimi - 4/5 Fresh and enjoyable. Solid order. Salmon Sushi - 4/5 Classic. Exactly what you expect from good salmon sushi. Madai (Japanese Snapper) Sushi - 4/5 Really good -- clean, fresh flavor. Seared Jumbo Scallop Sushi - 3/5 Decent, but not something I'd run back for. Cucumber Wrap - 3/5 Didn't love it as much as I thought I would. The ponzu felt like it was missing something -- it was okay. Baja California Roll - 4/5 Better than the cucumber wrap. Definitely on the creamier side because of the spicy tuna and avocado filling. Overall, this place feels like AYCE vibes but you're just paying for what you eat. Pricing is standard. Everything tasted fresh and enjoyable. Service was super quick and friendly my food was literally dropped off by the time I came back from the restroom. I would definitely come back. Sushi is probably better with a group though you don't have to commit to everything yourself like I did I left feeling satisfied and content not overly stuffed, but perfectly full. Honestly, that's the best kind of sushi night.

We were in the area craving sushi and if you search sushi on Yelp this place is usually one of the top results. Came in around 8:30pm on a Tuesday and there was no wait. The menu is huge so we ordered a mix of nigiri and rolls. Some of the items we liked were the toro, jumbo scallop, sweet shrimp, and the pepper salmon. For rolls we tried the dragon, caliente, and fire island which tasted pretty much how you'd expect. I'll be honest, the meal reminded me a lot of an all you can eat sushi spot. For the price the quality is decent, nothing particularly special, but good enough to satisfy the craving. I do like that they offer some rolls in 4 piece portions which makes it easier for small groups to share and try more items. Food came out quickly and the service was attentive. It's kind of a good middle ground if you want AYCE style sushi quality without actually committing to an AYCE meal.

We went here to celebrate my husband's birthday, and Jon was able to anticipate our needs before we realized we had them. Water was refilled before we even had to ask, spoons were brought over for our soup, table was cleared after each course, and he balanced being attentive without hovering or compromising our space. Truly, he made it such a memorable experience! The appetizers, sides, and desserts were underwhelming, unfortunately. The bread and butter were overly salty to our taste, and the citrus sauce for our sushi overpowered the delicate flavors of the fish. We had to send back the macaroni and cheese due to the imbalance of flavors in the cheese sauce (that may just be personal preference though). Jon handled that process very smoothly, so we were able to swiftly recover and return to enjoying our evening. Fortunately, the main entrees were incredible! We ordered the cooked salmon and cod, which were both delicious and paired beautifully with the sauces and garnishes. Well thought out, aesthetically pleasing, and fully comprehensive dishes! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience! I recognize some of the items we ordered are not what this place is known for, so order the lesser well known items at your own risk! We wish we ordered some of their more popular items such as the steak and lobster. Got to the restaurant about 30min ahead of my reservation but was able to be seated fairly quickly. While waiting to be seated, there is a nice waiting area with leather couches where one can relax and have a drink before dinner. To our surprise, when we were brought to our table, there was a Happy Anniversary card on the table with some rose pedals next to it. Definitely a nice personal touch! For appetizer, we ordered the iced shellfish platter (The Grand) and added a large channel island red sea urchin to share for two. The raw oysters, the half lobster tail/claw, and the sea urchin were just devine! And loved the variety of shellfish that came with the platter! For the entrees, I ordered the wild Alaskan Black Cod (soba noodle, green onions, spiced fish broth). The cod was perfectly cooked and the flavoring is well balanced with the slight spiciness of the fish broth. With the addition of the soba noodles, it's certainly a unique take on Asian fusion. For the Mrs, she ordered the Chilean Sea Bass (butternut squash gnocchi, sage brown butter). The sea bass was also perfectly cooked, the sage brown butter and the gnocchi were a good pairing with the fish. Another surprise came after our dinner, our waiter served us a pizookie-style desert as part of the our anniversary celebration! It was plenty of both of us to share, and it paired extremely well with a hot cup of pressed coffee! Great service overall! Our waiter Jaden was very attentive and came to check on us often to ensure everything is good. No complaints. Definitely will come back again when I'm in the area. On top of that the menu changes every couple of months, which for me is nice because every time I come here I experience something a little different. Do keep in mind this particular location I've been here enough now that I notice some patterns. there's going to be a seasonal fish that is featured. There's also going to be some kind of stuffed mushroom which I like because I like mushrooms. They always have scallops which are always cooked to perfection. I often order that added on to the entree. There will be at least one steak dish and a chicken and a pork dish. they always feature on the appetizers the lump crab cake. it is what it sounds like, a large lump of crab that is breaded. To me it's not a true crab cake but rather a lump of fresh crab that's breaded and fried. It's ok if you're in to that. The one dish I was curious enough to try today was their Kona crusted lamb loin. I don't usually order lamb unless it's an Indian or middle eastern restaurant. I like lamb but it's not exactly something I crave. so how they explained it was that the Kona was basically using coffee grounds as a dry rub on the meat. So I got curious and ordered it. The grounds basically add a slightly different texture and adds a slight bitterness. Sort of like char from a grill. It was ok and interesting but what stood out the most was the fact that the meat was so perfectly cooked and so flavorful and tender that it overpowered whatever the grounds added to the meat. so I would recommend this solely on the basis of how perfectly tender and flavorful the meat was.
