Since the rolls come in smaller plates of four pieces, it's nice being able to try multiple rolls instead of committing to a standard eight-piece roll like most sushi spots. I usually prefer fresher rolls, and the fish here was fresh enough without being drenched in sauce. Everything was simple with just the right amount of toppings. I did notice that a lot of the rolls include tempura. While I usually prefer fresh fish on the inside and outside, the ones with tempura were still done well. I'd still like to see more fresh roll options, but overall the sushi is solid. I also like that there's a dedicated no rice roll section. Caliente was my favorite from that category with a nice, slight spicy kick. My favorite roll overall was the Fire Island. I love red onion, and the peppery flavor combined with the seared fish was a great combo. Service: Very straightforward and efficient. The staff helped us whenever we flagged them down. It's been a while since I had such good sushi for a good price. Depending on how much you eat I'd say you'd spend $30-40 for a full stomach here. I'm a bit of a hefty eater for a girl but was decently stuffed leaving the restaurant. Ambience and service is spot on with very kind a prompt service from the staff! Perfect spot for a date night with dim lights and food sushi. Only con would be is that it is a fairly small place so coming with a big group of friends of more than 5 people would definitely be a longer wait. Waitlist on yelp close early due to demand and manually entering at the restaurant would give you a long wait time regardless. I was a group of 3 girls and the wait was surprisingly 2 hrs. Came at 5:50pm to put our names down and didn't get called till 7:30pm to be seated on a Saturday. Luckily we ran errands around the area so time flew by easier. Biggest table they had was like 4 -5 booth that ideally fit a group of 4 comfortably fyi Sushi quality was top notch and if you're a salmon lover or tuna lover, we definitely had some favorite favorites here! Came in based off a social media post find stating sushi rolls were only $7.50. Upon entering the place seemed nicer and more of a sit down restaurant than I thought. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated and it looked like it can get crowded since I saw a Yelp waitlist. The hostess and waitresses were all nice and attentive. Service and food were quick. They have an extensive menu with lots of items. We were looking for the $7.50 rolls without having to ask and it took us awhile but it's some of their specialty rolls and the catch was that it was only a half roll that came in 4 so technically it's the same price if you were to get a whole roll which does usually cost between $15-17 lol good baiting but it was also kind of nice to get half a roll and pay half the price because you can order more/different rolls to try out. The items itself were all pretty good. I enjoyed all sauces that came on top of the rolls. I do want to point out that a lot of their rolls the rice wasn't sticking and kept breaking apart on almost all of the rolls even the California rolls which had no sauce. The fish tasted fresh and I loved their toppings with raw red onions and Serrano peppers. I noticed their wasabi wasn't pasty so I wonder if it was real wasabi and their ginger I loved how they cut it up in small pieces instead of those big long chunks. Hands down my favorite sushi spot. The service is always great. I love getting a variety of rolls and some spicy garlic edamame. I always get the jalapeño popper. Some of their best rolls for me are the caliente, red eye, and sushi bloom. Get these if you're looking for high protein. They have different options for that different cuts. I think I got the most expensive one And I was not disappointed. It is a little pricey but it's worth it. My friend raves about Eat's and she said it gets really busy. So on a Friday evening, before 6pm, we came for dinner. We were seated quickly and the place was getting filled up quickly. Service was friendly, except the male manager who was kinda cold and did not have a smile when greeting customers. The rest of the waiting staff were all very friendly and efficient. The menu is expansive and has tons of options. I really like how food comes in smaller portions here. For example, each roll has 4 pieces (vs 6-8 pieces) and nigiri is single piece. That means you can order a variety of food without feeling stuffed by one or two things. Yellowtail Collar- 3/5 slightly overcooked and bland Salmon Blue Crab roll - 3/5 not much of a flavor, though they didn't skimp on the crab Monkfish Liver - 4/5 really good but thinner slices would have been better IMO We also got Baja Cali Roll, Fire Island Roll, Tiger Roll,Hot Night Roll, Spicy Crunch Roll and Bake Scallop Roll. All the rolls were good. For nigiri we got blue fin tuna, salmon, yellowtail, smelt, sweet shrimp, toro, bay scallop and seared jumbo scallop. All the nigiris were really fresh, the rice can use a bit more vinegar. Our total was about $153 with all those food, and we got free drinks with Yelp check-in. This is my BF's and my FAVORITE Asian food restaurant in OC. Everything on the menu is pretty incredible. The sushi is fresh and the perfect temp with plenty of different options. In addition to the awesome sushi, they have great side / small plate options including sushi and sticky rice, gyoza, miso soup, and tempura. We usually get the Beef teriyaki, which is served slightly pink with on a bed of sizzling onions over a hot skillet. Or the teriyaki chicken, which is equally as good! The staff are always very friendly and on top of everything. This place fills up so fast, even getting there when they open does not guarantee you'll be sat immediately. The highlight for me was the Seared Jumbo Scallop Sushi, which stood out with its rich, smoky flavor. The only downside was the edamame.
