My favorite rolls so far: Alaskan, Baja California, Hawaiian, and crunch.. but honestly, every roll I try gets added to my favorites The employees are extremely kind and the environment is welcoming. They go above and beyond to make sure we get everything we ordered and are enjoying our experience. The restaurant is a decent size, but expect to wait depending on what time you come. My husband took me here for a lunch date over the weekend. This was our second time dining here. I didn't really remember all the dishes we got but the most memorable ones include the soft shell crab, yellow and salmon handrolls, baked scallop roll, uni & toro nigiri, and the crab roll wrapped with salmon. They were all really good! My favorite was the toro nigiri! It was so buttery and soft and just melts in your mouth. The service is alo good and fast. Food: The quality of fish here is excellent. The Tuna and Salmon are always fresh and handled so well that you can come towards the end of dinner service without noticing a difference. I really enjoyed their Sashimi Combo, Yellow Tail Sushi and Tuna Sushi. If you like rolls, the Crunch Rolls has Tempura is a delicate delight that are fried lightly with a good crisp. They also serve Ramen here that is a Shoyu Tonkatsu Ramen where the broth is on the creamier side. Not my first go to as it's their only Ramen choice, but tasty nonetheless. Service: They do a fantastic job of checking up on you at a pace where you can eat continuously and have everything you need to have an enjoyable experience. Definitely one of my high points about recommending this place. Ambiance: it's a cozy setup that is very compact, but once you are seated you have plenty of space for yourself to eat. I found this place on TikTok, and now I understand the hype. The service was attentive and efficient. The spicy garlic edamame wasn't very spicy, but it was still flavorful and delicious. I ordered some takeouts from here a few days ago after seeing some raving reviews on here. It's a bit out of the way, but it is located in a plaza with plenty of parking so it was very easy to locate. I ordered one of almost all the nigiri pieces on the menu or at least the ones I like. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh quality of the fish. I also liked that the wasabi and ginger were fresh and not from those takeout packets. My girlfriends and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. I checked in when I was close by and got on the waitlist. This was very helpful! The exterior of this restaurant is unassuming and very simple. The restaurant is located in the Stater Brothers shopping center amongst other various retail shops and eateries. When I arrived, I already saw people sitting outside waiting. I checked in with the hostess to let her know that I was there a little early and it looked like I was second place in line. I didn't wait long at all before I was seated and waited for my friends to arrive. The interior was inviting and the ambience was positive and upbeat. There were different tunes of upbeat pop and light rap music playing in the background and the conversations and chatter of people seated amongst booths and tables throughout. Everyone is seated rather closely, but the music drowns everything out. It is somewhat dim inside, but very comfortable and warm lighting, emanated throughout. The menu was easy to follow with some photos to help with the decision making process. We ordered a variety of starters, including spicy garlic edamame, Shishito, peppers, salmon skin salad, and miso soup. The hand rolls were delicious as well as the different sashimi and sushi roll options. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted fresh! I'm returning with other family and friends next time! One of my favorite places to get sushi in the OC area. There has always been a decently sized line every time that I've been here. They have a Yelp waitlist available that you can join from the app if you're within a 5 mile radius. The time that we were seated was fairly close to the estimated time given in the app. There is a decent amount of parking available in the shopping center, but it can get very crowded on weekends. The restaurant itself is very cozy and the decorations add to the overall experience. They have a menu available with pictures and you fill out a sheet of paper when ordering, similarly to how you would at an AYCE restaurant. They were able to have all the food ready very soon after we submitted our order. The ramen came in a very creamy broth with thin noodles. It had good flavor and the pork was cooked well. The black spider roll was something that I was very happy that I ordered. There was very little rice compared to the rest of the ingredients. It was packed with softshell crab and covered with a generous amount of spicy tuna and eel. The crunch roll was cooked perfectly and the shrimp inside was very flavorful. The star dish of the night was the sashimi combo. We were at the restaurant closer to closing time, but the fish was still extremely fresh and delicious. We came specifically for sushi, but they have so much more on their menu like baked salmon, teriyaki beef & chicken, bulgogi, ramen, udon and lots of salads. They do close between lunch and dinner during the week, except for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when they're open all day. A popular Costa Mesa sushi staple (and for good reason), we visited Eat's on a weekday at around 6pm. We were seated promptly (I recommend eating there before 6, when the dinner rush begins) at a comfortable booth. The decor is cozy, clean, and cute - reminiscent of a sushi bar lifted from Tokyo. What we ordered: 1. We've heard rave reviews about their yellowtail collar, but unfortunately it was sold out by the time we ordered. Next time! 2. Nigiri - toro, uni, unagi, ikura and salmon. All were incredibly fresh and generously portioned for the price. Really, you can't beat the price to quality ratio - Eat's reigns supreme. 2. Salmon skin roll and handroll - crispy and flavorful. 3. Baked scallop roll - I don't normally order rolls, but I have to make an exception when at Eat's. Usually I feel like sushi rolls incorporate lower quality fish than the nigiri, sashimi, and handrolls - but this is clearly not the case at Eat's. Anyway, this is my absolute favorite roll at Eat's, and the scallops are refreshingly not overcooked and fresh, without that cheap fishy aroma. The roll itself is both savory and just a touch sweet - hitting all my favorite flavor profiles. 3. Bikini roll - my second favorite roll at Eat's. Salmon, tuna, and tempura shrimp are the dominant flavors here. All great quality fish and very reasonably priced. 4. Soft shell crab - just a classic dish, and Eat's executes this so perfectly. The perfect amount of batter to crab, and the dipping sauce is the perfect compliment. 5. Kaarage chicken - a solid choice for the less adventurous eaters. 6. Philly roll - reportedly the best my dining partner has ever had. Service was amazing - we were greeted and constantly checked on by the servers. They did an excellent job topping up our waters and bringing out dishes quickly. Eat's was a fantastic choice for a date night, and easy parking is always a plus. I had never seen this place come up on yelp which is surprising bc it's clearly popular. We came here for our 1st time on a Sunday afternoon and the wait wasn't bad. You show up, join the waitlist on the ipad, and they txt you when your table is ready. I guess you can join ahead of time as well on Yelp, but when we checked it, it says that it was unavailable. Maybe once it becomes more poppin they open it up online. They even have set up cucumber water outside while you wait. It's in a random strip mall area with a stater bros, but inside it's so cute. The mayo added a subtle creaminess and it was finished with eel sauce that added sweetness. Baked Scallop Roll- The crab, avocado, and cucumber base roll is nice and fresh. Baby Lobster Roll- It has the same base as the scallop roll which was once more, wonderfully done. The crawfish topping is delicious and a generous amount. Finished with eel sauce. Such a great dish! Came for dinner last night and had a nice time. It's a cute little restaurant that doesn't take reservations, but does use the Yelp waitlist feature which is appreciated. Service was nice, the staff is quick and attentive. For the food, we got the salmon sashimi, bikini roll, salmon sushi, toro sushi, and some tuna sushi. While the bikini roll was on the smaller side, it was pretty good. The toro was unfortunately our least favorite, and I wouldn't order again. The salmon and tuna were good. Over the past few decades, the market for sushi in California has changed. Overfishing means that the really good quality tuna goes to Tokyo, and California gets the fish that Tokyo doesn't want. Accordingly, it's harder and harder to get decent quality sushi in this part of the world. The California market has responded in two ways. First, you have to pay a premium for top quality sushi in California. The top omakase restaurants in Los Angeles have prices corresponding, and if you're reading this, you probably can't afford that. Second, if you want lower prices, then you have to be prepared to skimp a little on quality. Don't get me wrong. You can still do very good sushi inexpensively; you just have to tolerate some slightly imperfect meats: slightly off scents, slightly imperfect grades of sashimi. The great majority of sushi restaurants in southern California take this second approach, because in general, American consumers are cheapskates who prefer quantity to quality. Of this second type of sushi restaurant, EAT'S is the best that you're going to find in this area. The sushi quality is good. Not brilliant, not bad, but good. That alone makes it worthy of consideration. But EAT'S ace in the hole, is how much it charges for that sushi. Given that they have a full staff of chefs working behind the counter, I am shocked that they are able to turn out sushi of this quality, at this price. You can get nice sushi for two, AND a bottle of sake, and bring it all in well under $100. That's a good deal in this part of the world. In short, this is the best Orange County sushi restaurant for the gaijin. Value, which is quality divided by price, is very high at EAT'S. Actual Japanese people may want to hold out for, say, Soma Suisan on La Cienega, but EAT'S SUSHI is about as high value of a restaurant, as the locals can expect to find around here. read more

This place was worth the wait after putting our name on the waitlist on a Saturday night. we almost walked away when we came up to the door and they told that we still had to wait I had the kids with me and they were getting Hagry!! Well, don't ask me which sushi rolls we ordered my husband handled that so refer to my photos attached point and ask them!! , but let me tell you the sushi was fresh & so good, not a single one was bland. If I could give this restaurant zero stars, I would. We've been dining here regularly, and today we learned for the first time that the majority of their menu items are not gluten free. Thank goodness my husband isn't celiac--because if he was, it could have been a serious issue. In the past, the older staff members told us that everything was gluten free except the soy sauce (which they said could be substituted with gluten-free soy sauce). Today, however, our server Jordan--who was amazing and refreshingly honest--told us the truth: most of the food here is not gluten free. My husbands coworker recommended this spot so we decided to check it out in one of his lunch breaks. We heard this place could get busy so we went at open (11:30am) and there was a waitlist by 11:50. We decided to order a variety of items to try and loved that they had "mini rolls" which come with 4 pieces so you can get more to try. I think we may have over ordered but they had such a good selection of items that it was hard to pick and choose. The nigiri was fresh with generous fish to rice proportions and all the rolls were well made with the Baja California being my personal favorite. For lunch at 12:30pm, it was packed but I was solo so didn't worry about it. I sat down right away and ordered from their extensive menu. I always order the same things because it's not sushi to me unless I have a taste of ponzu, yuzu, truffle oil and Uni. Yellowtail Jalapeño was very good. Pro tip: they give you bigger cuts for the salmon sashimi ($14) as opposed to the salmon "new way" sashimi where they add truffle oil etc. I ordered the more expensive salmon sashimi and asked them nicely to give me a small dipping bowl of truffle in the side. I also ordered the Alaskan roll which was amazing. Every bite was mouthwatering. The salmon sashimi was literally butter in my mouth. Can't wait to come back to try the other dishes. read more

Genuinely the best sushi I've had in OC. Ten Sushi is also a great contender but the prices and service will never compare to Eats. I've been coming here almost every month for anniversary dinners and it never disappoints. The servers are very attentive and the chefs are magic. Such a yummy dinner at Eats Sushi! First time dining here and the service was great, the vibes were high, and the food was beautiful. I got the tonkotsu ramen and after coming from a pool party, that was heaven! Our server was kind enough to give me two to go containers to separate half of my ramen because I was struggling to finish it - I was too full from the previous party. I can't believe it took me this long to finally try Eat's Sushi and it did not disappoint. I was so impressed by the quality of all the food. The fish is incredibly fresh and the flavors were all so good. I loved their salmon blue crab which was served with ponzu and white truffle oil. I also loved their spicy garlic edamame which wasn't too spicy. I can't wait to come back. Super friendly staff. Nice ambiance. read more
